Workflow in 'Revised and Saved' status

Hi Friends,
I am trying to activate a workflow in Dev system. After I click on activate button the workflow gets into 'revised and saved' status. Business object is in active stage. This is happening since last couple of days, earlier to that I was able to activate after making the changes.
Can anybody suggest what could be the reason?

Hi,
This usually means that an error has occurred, but sometimes the error panel at the bottom of the Workflow Builder screen is obscured.
Please have a closer look.

Workflow not starting and RFC status is 'User Switch Is Not Possible'

Hi All,
I am using ABAP classes to raise an event that triggers the workflow.
When I am executing the workflow from SWUS or raising event from SWUE or SE24, the workflow is starting fine.
But when I am raising the event from a Webdynpro application, the same event is raised, but the workflow is not getting triggerred.
I could see a record in SWEL, but the workitem is not created.
In SWEL, it is showing the RFC status as 'User Switch Is Not Possible'.
When I go to SM58, I am able to re-execute the failed transaction and this time the workflow is getting triggered.
The same workflow is working fine in D env. but not in T env.
The event linkages are all same and I also used the COMMIT WORK statement after raising the event.
Another problem is the RFC status is sometimes set to SYSFAIL and sometimes as 'System overloaded, repeat immediately by batch' other than 'User Switch Is Not Possible'.
Please help.

Hi,
call function module AUTHORITY_CHECK_RFC explicitly before a remote call to be able to treat a possible exception. If the authorization exists, the function module does not return an explicit result but, like all successfully executed function modules, sets sy-subrc to 0. If sy-subrc is not equal to zero then it could be the problem with the user authorization.
I also think it could alos possible because of your Host name check whether any changes are done to host name.

Reg : Workflow In Revised, Saved status in Production

Hi Workflow geeks,
I have a doubt in workflow. In one of the cases, there is a workflow in production with event linkage u2013 active.
But the workflow template is in Revised, Saved status.
I have few doubts.
As the event linkage is active will the workflow trigger? I believe it should. Am I Right?
As the workflow template is not active, will the workflow proceed or would hang?
The agent determination using a custom method in workflow is failing and resulting with no data. But when tested in BO, its working fine. How can I fix this?
I havenu2019t come across such issue before. So I have no Idea at all?
Can you please help me on this?

The workflow is active in DEV & QAS and working fine. But in production after transport, its status is Revised, Saved.
I tried testing a workflow in Dev with the same status and the workflow is triggering and working.
But in PRD, the agent determination fails.

The agent is determined using a function where we pass the Org unit no. and it gives the org unit head.
This org. unit head than becomes the agent.
The org. unit no. passed to function module is hard coded in a custom method.
And the binding between method --> task --> Workflow is ok.
We are using standard tables & standard function modules for agent determination.
What could be the other reasons for failure of agent determination?

External editing and saving

For some reason pictures that I have edited in photoshop are no longer being saved to aperture. Before when I finished editing and saved an image it automatically went to the place where it was filed in aperture before I edited it. I am sure I have changed no settings and suddenly it stopped saving properly. I don't know how to get it set up to save the way it used to. Can anybody help? I have a project due and I can't seem to get past this.

This is probably not going to be any help, but just in case...
Are you at any point in your Photoshop editing work saving the file with a new or revised name -- intentionally or otherwise? And then not saving to a separate Finder file from which you can subsequently import that "new" (from Aperture's perspective) image into your Aperture Library, as either a Managed or Referenced file (depending on your workflow)?
I ask only because I frequently find myself creating a whole new file from versions of images I've sent to my External Editor (i.e. Photoshop) from Aperture -- an example being when I create a Photomerge. But also sometimes I end up wanting to save two different versions of the file while still in Photoshop. For those situations, I've created a folder on my Desktop called PICS TO IMPORT, and it's to that folder that any of those new or "Saved As" PS files get sent. Then, back in Aperture, I import those new PS files, (in my case using the "Move Files" option so they are placed into the correct sub-folders in my MASTER IMAGES folder, which my Aperture Library then references).
The only thing I have to remember (and which I occasionally forget when I'm in a hurry) is to navigate to that "PICS TO IMPORT" folder in Photoshop's Save dialog BEFORE saving the new/revised file for the first time, otherwise it will be saved by Photoshop to the default location, which is deep within that MASTER IMAGES folder (wherever the files reside which Aperture used to create the original Exports for the External Editor). That means when I return to Aperture, I can't see the new PS file, since I still haven't officially imported it yet.
Whereas if I just send a jpg from Aperture to my External Editor, and simply keep saving that new .psd version "as is" in Photoshop (no changes or revisions to the file name), then every time I flip back to Aperture, all my Photoshop revisions (up to my last save in PS) are reflected in the .psd file now residing in a Stack right next to the original jpg which "gave birth" to it.
Again, I've no idea if any of this is even germane to the problem you're having, but I hope maybe it might at least spark an idea.

I have set up a simple custom HCM process and Form regarding Infotype TO CREATE AND CHANGE POSITION. I have checked the process and form consistency and it seems fine. Now when I run the process from HRASR_DT it generates a process number but it also gives an error workflow could not start.I get following error (SWIA log - Step history)

How to Stop workflow which is in Progress status.

You could use the transaction SWIA to manually complete workitems. If you use the the workitem ID of the workflow instance you set the status of the workflow to logically deleted.
Other option is to use the object FLOWITEM with method statuschange to change the status to completed. Also go in there with the ID of your workflow instance.
However, my question is why you want to do this? If you're testing you could also just execute the workitem in the inboxes. Undo work which is done has to be executed manually.

Importing masters from iPhoto to Aperture 3 and saving as referenced files on external drive

I'm making the move from iPhoto to Aperture 3.I'm new to Aperture 3 and want o make sure I am importing and saving correctly. So far, I have imported my library of events from iphoto to Aperture 3. I understand that for the most part, it makes sense to house this library on an external drive as "referenced files" vs within Apeture as "managed files." I'm not clear on exactly how to accomplish this set-up. Is this something I should have set-up when doing the initial import or can I move the files now? Once this is done, when importing new files, how do I import to Aperture 3 but save on external drive?

In the olden days ( ) when hobbyists made their own telescopes from kits, everyone wanted a six-inch lens, and the kit makers shipped six-inch lens blanks. Which the hobbyists used to learn lens grinding. Which is arduous and requires skill. Which the hobbyists didn't have until they'd ground that six-inch blank -- an expensive piece of high-quality material at the time -- into a lumpen flawed approximation of a good lens. Then the hobbyists would contact the kit makers and ask for another lens-blank, so they could build their telescope. At which point they would drop the project because the six-inch lens blank cost so much. And much calumny was rained on the kit manufacturers.
Now the kit manufacturers wanted to promote a hobby, and make, in addition to telescope kits, money (not calumny), so they together and separately hit upon the idea of supplying the hobbyist with _two_ lens blanks: a four-inch blank, and a six inch blank. Nobody wanted a four-inch telescope -- but that's not what the blank was for. The instructions read (I've shortened this part) "Grind the four-inch blank into the most perfect lens you can. Check it and re-check it. Now throw it out. You likely now have the skill to grind the six-inch blank into a useable lens."
Thus endeth our fable.
The point, of course, is: start small and gain skill before committing time and material to a task. Port just a small sub-set of you photos into Aperture. Experiment with it. Try different workflows. Think about how to best use the containers and organization tools Aperture provides. Develop a long-term naming convention for files and Projects. Work out a back-up strategy that is scalable and that you will stick with. My specific recommendation for beginners is: don't worry about Referenced v. Managed at first. Make all your Masters Managed. When you have your four-inch Aperture Library all smooth and even, put the entire thing in the system trash -- and then you can start working on an Aperture Library fit for your photos -- one that will allow you to see far, and clear, for years.

I created a new condition table in M/03, and assigned one field to it, Generated and saved. Then added the condition table in the access sequence. There appeared two more lines below the field that i have assigned. One is Processing status and the other is released status, both are having green lights. what are these and what is its impact.

System status and user status configuration

Hello All,
1. Is it possible for the system to reverse the user status of WBS element if the actual business transaction is reversed. For example, User status 'ABC' is set as Initial status and in OK02 config, it was set that, when the system status is 'ACPT'( will appear when we create an SO and saved), the user status will be changed to XYZ. But subsequently when the WBS element in the Sales order is removed (by changin SO because of wrong postin), is it possible to the initial active status.
Here my ok02 config is like this
stuatus 10 ABC 10 30   1 1
             20 BCD 10 20 1   1
             30 XYZ 30 40 1 1
Here my requirement is once the system sets the status XYZ, the user should not change to BCD. But my above mentioned requirement of reversal will arise when the user wrongly enters the WBS element in the SO.
Any advice is highly appreciated. Could not find proper solution after enough search.

Hi,
In this case you can create the one more user status as 40 EFG 10 40 1 1and restrict this status by authorisation key.
provide this status authorization to responsible person not for all the users. If SO deletes the responsible person changes the status from XYZ to EFG and then to ABC, from here you can follow regular process.Finally the WBSE status remains
as XYZ.

I had used the T-Code BS22 to deactivate the field where in once the budget is entered (CJ30) and saved no further changes can be made to the budget.

I found the solution on another post by user rbii:
You can add this using Automator:
- Run automator, select File->New, chose Print Plugin
- From the PDFs part of the library drag "Render PDF Pages as Images" to the workflow on the right, set resolution to 200.
- From the Photos part of the library drag "Import Files into iPhoto" to the workflow section.
- Save the workflow
That should get you back this feature."
Save the workflow as "Save PDF to iPhoto" and you'll get that option back on the list. Hope this helps!

You can save that address in an ivar if you want to, but there's no purpose to that. The standardUserDefaults object is a +shared class object+. It's like a dictionary object that's maintained for your program by the NSUserPreferences class. You can read from or write to it at any time for the duration of your program. So whenever you get the shared object's address [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults], you're just getting the address of that same object each time.

When I did that as you so wisely pointed out it didn't work but when I saved it at each point I needed it it works.
When you change two things at once it's easy to forget the first and assume the second change solved the problem. Actually, I don't think saving prefs in your ivar had anything to do with your bug. What fixed it was getting a pointer to the shared std defaults object in this method:

Without the first line of the above, I'm fairly sure that your prefs ivar was nil. I didn't see any code that initialized that ivar prior to the first time userdefaultdate ran. It looked to me like permsavedattime ran at start up, well before prefs was set in userdefaultdate. If you're interested in backtracking, restore the file to the way it was when you posted, then add a NSLog() like this:

I wish to save lets say five different things to NSUSerDefaults would I be able to do it all with my NSUserDefaults prefs or would I have to create a another one for some of them?
You know the answer to your second question now, right? The important point is that you're never creating the shared object, you're just asking for its address whenever you need it.
Btw, there's another user defaults method you should know about: The synchronize method writes the data to disk. You might want to do that when your app is ready to exit. E.g., in the app delegate:

[prefs synchronize];
Although the docs suggest synchronize when the app is about to exit, I'm not sure it's necessary. I think the system might write the defaults out to disk anyway when the app terminates, but not sure about this. +User Defaults Programming Topics for Cocoa+ says:
On Mac OS X v10.5 and later, in applications in which a run-loop is present, synchronize is automatically invoked at periodic intervals. Consequently, you might synchronize before exiting a process, but otherwise you shouldn’t need to.
The above is in the iPhone edition, so I think it applies.
It might also be a good idea to update the data and call resetStandardUserDefaults in didReceiveMemoryWarning. I'm not clear about the need for reset either though, since the system may do that for you as well. But on a memory warning, you would definitely want to update the user default data if some of it is stored in an object to be released. You can find out how your app behaves on a memory warning by selecting Hardware->Simulate Memory Warning from the iPhone Simulator menu.
