  • Workflow for MM purchase Requisition steps required

    Dear all,
I am trying to configure purchase requisition Workflow.
I am working with Work flow, WS 00000038
I have assigned agents to TS 20000162
Now how to proceed further, do i need to maintain some more settings
or i should try to test system.
            Regards,
            Gaurav sood

Under the assumption that things have not changed much since 4.70, here's quick introduction:
The workflow is started only when a relevant release strategy is found, so customizing of release strategies is a very important (first) step here.
In the Implementation Guide you find the customizing in the following path:
    Materials Management
    -- Purchasing
    -- -- Purchase Requisition
    -- -- -- Release Procedure
    -- -- -- -- Procedure with Classification
Only the procedures with classification are relevant if you want to use workflow to notify about requisitions waiting for release.
First you must set up a classification class if that has not already been done. Derive your characteristics from the structure CEBAN. The online help is not too bad, I had never set up classifications before and managed to get it working.
If you need data that are not available in CEBAN, or you want to modify them for the purpose of determining the release strategy there is an enhancement you can implement, and there are customer fields you can use. The enhancement definition's name is M06B0002.
As an example of what you can do, I have used it to set the company code in one of the customer fields, and to change the account assignment type. However, whether you need this enhancement or not depends strongly on what data you use to determine your release procedures (a step in customizing you will get to later).
When that is done you define release groups and release codes. Release codes are defined within each release group. Whether you should use one group or several groups is often a matter of choice.
I myself prefer using several groups even if I don't have to, so long as it doesn't lead to having to define duplicate release strategies (which you will soon get to). So, if there is some characteristic that clearly separates your release strategies, e.g. the highest amount that does NOT require release etc, you can define one group for each value (group) of this characteristic.
For instance, if some company codes require release for everything worth more than 100EUR while the default is to require release from 10.000EUR you could create to release groups. None of your release strategies will be duplicates since the value from which release is required will be different and you thus need to have that as a characteristic.
You then check that the set-up of release indicators is OK, and then you are ready to start defining the strategies. Release stragies are defined within each release group, and use one or more release codes (two or more release indicators).
It is fairly self-explanatory once you get into the screens. The thing to be observant about is to not define overlapping strategies, as this will prevent the solution from working.
When you are done, and have tested the solution in DEV it is time to transport it to the QA system. That's when I got a rather unpleasant surprise. The classification data are not transported, so both the characteristics and class, as well as the classification data in each release strategy had to be redefined. And in roughly two hours I have to do it again in production.
It is possible to transport classification information, it is described in SAP OSS Notes (different solutions for different versions).

  • Newbie question on workflow

    Hi,
    I'm a complete SharePoint newbie.
We have a manual process at the moment, summarised as follows:
Manager notifies persons a,b,c and d that a new member of staff is starting, providing the new staff member's name and date of birth.
Persons a and b complete a number of tasks for the new member of staff, such as ordering a blackberry, adding them to distribution lists etc etc
Persons c and d complete a number of tasks for the new member of staff such as requesting a variety of different systems-related access and roles
Manager is notified when the main tasks are complete
I think a SharePoint workflow might be a good solution to allow automatic emailing and tracking of the completion of each of the tasks but I'm not sure how the best way is to go about doing this. E.g. do I use forms, tasks or lists or start with a library
document? Any guidance to set me on my way would be much appreciated!

    Hi Nicster,
You can create simple workflow using SharePoint Designer.
    a.  A custom list , say "Employees", can be created with columns like "Name", "Blackberry Ordered", "Distribution List Added" can be created and a reusable workflow can be created on it.  This workflow can
be set such that it is triggered when a employee item is added and modified in "Employees" list.
    b. Steps can be added in workflow such that when item is added mail is sent to 'a' and 'b' to inform them about their activities.
    c. When 'a' and 'b' have completed their activities, they can update the fields like "Blackberry Ordered" to true. This will trigger the same workflow (since we have set it to get triggered when item is modified) and next set of mails will be sent
to 'c' and 'd'. Similarly after their activities are completed, the manager can be informed.
Please refer the following link to create the workflow.
    https://support.office.com/en-ca/article/Introduction-to-designing-and-customizing-workflows-32c9c0bf-5e20-4f74-8b9c-d3ea79f2962b
By using Reusable workflow, the workflow can be saved as WSP and can be attached to other lists in other environments.
Please let us know if this satisfies your requirement.
    Thanks,
    M. Gubendra Raj

  • Workflow and uses for iBooks Author ?

    02-04-2012 Sat
Before I begin I want to thank the developer team from Apple for the last update. Now all the iBooks in my library are opening smoothly and the system is not locking up anymore. Thanks guys.
Besides the typical Questions, Problems, Suggestions, . . . I'd like to hear how others WRITERS are using iBooks and how they have incorporated it into their daily workflow.
I don't think there are many writers out there using iBooks Author as a complete replacement for their notes, outlines, and drafts. But, I would think that they would share some kind of common approach before publishing a book.
For me, I'm guessing you would need a good calendar to keep a schedule, a notebook to catch all your thoughts and some form of a word processor to organize your thoughts, create an outline, and start writing the chapters.
The combination of The iPhone, Siri, iCal and Notes seems to work perfectly to catch thoughts before they make it to a written page. Thank you Apple.
Entering text directly into iBooks never worked well for me. So I prefer to pre-write the copy and paste it into my iBooks file. To do this I use an app called iA Writer  but you always have the option to use Pages if you feel more comfortable in that environment.
I'm sure we would all like to think that we are going to start publishing books and make a lot of money. But odds of that happening are very slim. The point is to focus on the true strength of using iBooks Author and for me that is publishing my own content to my iPad.
Here are a few examples that I would like to share with you, if you have any others ideas please post your thoughts here.
Make your own List of Affirmations.
Once you read a book you can always write a review that highlights your thoughts at the time of reading.
Create a Menu or your own recipe book.
    Create scrapbook.
    Document a time period.
Use it as a business tool to distribute company information to clients.
A student can maintain class notes, highlight them, and create study cards.
Create some form of yearbook or travel log.
I recently made a complete timeline that includes all the major events in my life.
Don't forget you can use aperture to create a short introduction video explaining who you are and why you are publishing your book.
Well thats my list, I'd like to hear your ideas. Thanks for listening - John Franco

  • Workflow Status Monitor in BPM

    Hi,
In Oracle Workflow we're able to rewind, retry, skip activities via status monitor. Are those functions available in BPM suite 11?
When i both look at E.M and google it, i've found Oracle document named "Migrating to Oracle BPM from Oracle Workflow" , but unfortunately again i'm not able to find tips about how to update payload (wf attributes) of a process instance, rewind to previous step, retry, skip current step. Can you please share any document or tips for those issues to fully implement wf admin functionalities like in wf status monitor.  Also is it possible to integrate both work flow and bpm task list applications into a common standalone ADF task list page?
    Regards
    Ümit Sadegüzel

    Hi Ümit,
With Oracle BPM you're dealing with not only the process and its interactive activities, but also the human tasks that accompany every interactive activity.  What I think will probably be most helpful to you will be the Human Task API.  Below are the links I wish I’d known about when first getting started with the APIs.  Arun Pareek and Niall Commiski’s blog posts give you practical working examples that actually work.
Although there are new REST APIs, you might want to concentrate on the SOAP and Java APIs for now.
BPM 11g Samples: This samples site has two links you might find useful (the “BPM 11g APIs” and the “BPM 11g Update task and Message based Correlation” links) http://java.net/projects/oraclebpmsuite11g/pages/Samples

  • Inserting small graphic on "introduction" page

Is it possible to insert a small photo below the text on an introduction page layout when making a book in iPhoto?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Regarding building your own page- if you have Pages or an application that will let you add graphics and text you can create your own page, convert it to a grahic and add to a blank page. Tutorial #19 describes how to create one using the background of the theme you're using, etc. The tutorial is for a photo page but can be used for graphics and text, or whatever.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Need help with an automator workflow to convert AAC files to MP3

    Hi
I am trying to work out a way to automatically convert voice memos which I dictate on my iPhone to MP3 files when they are added to my iTunes library during a sync. Then I need the converted files to be in a specific folder so that they will trigger an auto-transcription program that I have running.
From my limited knowledge of automating processes on my Mac it would seem that I need to design a workflow or a folder action in Automator. Probably a folder action would be best, as I could attach it to the 'Voice Memos' folder in my iTunes Music Folder. The converted MP3 files would be saved in the same folder and would then be recognised by the transcription program. I have tried to design a workflow/folder action using Doug's iTunes automator actions as follows, but it is not working as I would like. The workflow is as follows:
    Folder Action/Get Folder Contents/Choose encoder (MP3)/Convert Tracks/Choose encoder (apple lossless)/Restore Encoder.
The folder action is triggered when I add AAC files to the folder I have attached the action to, but then I get an error message stating that 'no tracks have been sent to this action'.
i would be grateful for any help to get this working using the automator method or another method
    thanks

  • How To Use OnCommand Workflow Automation For Automated Data Protection During Failover

    Introduction:
The NetApp OnCommand Workflow Automation (WFA) engineering team recently published a WFA pack that lets you recreate SnapMirror and SnapVault protection after MetroCluster switchover and switchback. A switchover/switchback occurs during a planned or unplanned failover. Introducing automation promotes best practices for continuous data protection during these types of occurrences. Watch this video to learn how to take the steps for implementing and executing this pack.
    Step 1:
Recreate SnapMirror and SnapVault protection after MetroCluster switchover.
    Step 2:
Retain SnapMirror and SnapVault data before MetroCluster switchback.
    Step 3:
Recreate SnapMirror and SnapVault protection after MetroCluster switchback.
    Other Resources:
This WFA pack is available for download on the Storage Automation Store.

Hi Ian,The WFA engineering team is getting ready to publish a blog article to accompany this new WFA pack. I hope you will find it helpful (stay tuned).Kristina
