Workflow is blocked

Hallo
We have defined for one Step in Workflow several Users to the role, who can work on this step. If the User A of this role open the workflow in his workflow inbox and closes it without finishing this step, and the other users cannot see this workflow in their workflow inbox. Only the User A can see this workflow.
But for some months ago it was different. The User A can opens the workflow, as long as he doesn't finish this step the other users can see this workflow in their workflow inbox and open the workflow.
We don't know if it is changed because of  SP? For us the new feature is not wished.  Is there any solution to have the old feature (that one some months ago)?
We have implmented Workflow using Guided procedure. Our Server version SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Enh SP6.
Thanks in advance
Kind Regards!

Hello,
There has been no such change documented in the behaviour of Guided Procedures Workflow. It is possible something changed in your process design. If you need this to be examined further you can open a SAP message.

  • Price variance workflow for blocked invoices in MM purchasing

    Hi Gurus,
We are implementing price variance workflow for blocked invoices. We built a custom workflow to
take care of the routing requirement of the customer.
We also did necessary customization defining the tolerance limits for price variance. Before testing the workflow wanted to check events in SWEL and its is found that system doesn't raise any event for price/ quantity block and hence the workflow is not triggered at all.
Event trace active flag is set in SWELS. I am not able to figure out what we are missing. The invoice gets created correctly with the price/quantity blocks and blocked invoices are available when we see in Tcode 'MRBR'.
Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

    Hello,
So you are absolutely sure the event trace is on. If you try SWUE with some other event, you see the entry in SWEL, dated a few minutes ago, correct?
When you try SWUE with BUS2081.BlockedPrice does it give any message?
Does SWUE work with any other BUS2081 event?

  • Workflow for blocked sales orders

    HI all,
I have a requirement in sales in service order .
when a credit check is done for a customer ,sales order will get blocked  and
in the service order for the corresponding sales order will get a status with Not OK. To release the block on this we need to manualy change the status in VKM3 and subsequently in service order (IW32).
My requirement is to do automatic change in the service order status when ever we do release the flag in VKM3.
I think with work flow we can achieve this.
Any standard functionality is supported using workflow for this requirement?
Please help me how to proceed.
    Thank you all..

    Hi Ravi,
Yes this is possible using workflow!
I just simulated your scenario and there are no events when you release the sales order but the other good news is that there is a change doucment that is written. The field CMGST in the table VBUK gets updated with the value D which is "released by credit representative". Using this you can configure your own event.
However to do this following are the steps you would have to follow:
    1. Copy the business object BUS2032 to ZBUS2032 through transaction SWO1.
    2. Add an event called as "Released" to this.
    3. Generate this new copied version of the BO
    4. Delegate the copied Business Object to BUS2032. You can do this in the initial screen of SWO1 by going to the menu "Settings->Delegate". This is the inverse of inheritance through which you will be adding the properties of the subtype(ZBUS2032) to the main type(BUS2032) at runtime
    5. Use transaction SWED and SWEC to configure your own event and raise it when the change document is written. Do remember that you will have to put an entry in the "Field restrictions" table in the transaction SWEC to trigger your own event when the Sales Order is released.
    6. In transaction SWEC you can put in the change document object as "VERKBELEG" derived from CDHDR table. The business object as BUS2032 and the new event you created in the subtype. Since you have delegated the same it will be available for use for the main type.
    7. In the field restrictions put in the table as VBUK and the field CMGST and the old value is * and the new value as D.
    8. Once you do this the event will be raised once you release the sales order.
    9. You can check the same through the event trace SWEL(Remember to swtich on the event trace through SWELS if it is off)
    10. Now you will have to write a function module to change the status of the service order using the OBJNR of the service order and table JEST or use the standard function module STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN. <b><b>Please remember that you can change a User status because system statuses are changed by the system. However you can change the system status by updating the table but I guess that is not like how the system changes it. When the system itself changes the status then there might be certain follow on documents that are created.</b></b>
    12. Now you will have to encaspulate this FM in a method of the business object.
    13. You will have to use the ZBUS2032 to add your own method which calls this function module. Hope you have the reference to the service order from the sales order.
    14. Now have a task or a workflow which has a single step which inturn calls this method and trigger the workflow or the task using the event.
That might solve the problem you have

  • Workflow: invoice blocked due to quantity (BUS2081)

    Hi all
First let me mention that I'm not a developer but a FI/CO consultant and new in this forum as well. So please excuse if this posting is in the wrong forum of if the question is stupid.
We want to optimize the process of invoice verification. Therefore I implemented the Workflow WS20000397 which works great.
But this workflow only deals with price-blocked invoices. What about the quantity-blocked ones?
For this topic I found no information at all, only the Workflow WS00400026, but I'm not shure if this is still to be used with newer releases (4.7, Basis release 620).
But anyway I tried to connect WS00400026 to BUS2081 in the function "event type linkages" with the event BLOCKEDQUANT where I entered WS00400026 as the receiver type.
Now I'm not shure if this Workflow and the procedure is correct because a) I could not find any information about this and b) the "linkage activated" will automatic deactivated when posting an invoice.
Could someone give me some hints how to deal with the quantity blocked invoices and workflow?
    Thank you and best regards
    Wolfgang

    Hi Joan
Good question. First I tend to use this mail function, but then I decided to implement the workflow because
    a) I was wondering how this works g and it is kind of sexy
    b) I needed already a workflow for the Investment Management and wanted to stick on this technique
    c) later we want to scan incoming invoices where we also will need to work with Workflows
    d) the WF provides some functions like jumping directly to the invoice and order, delete blocking reasons or change the order
    e) the WF could later be modified to cover more or other requirements
Of course the receipant of the Workitem also gets an eMail (via Internet) to let him know about an incoming workitem.
The most time I needed to find out how this works. Now it's just a piece of cake (as long as the SAP-standard WF for this is used without any modifications); would take not more than 15 Minutes to set it up again... no joke. But this depends also on the release you're on.
Of course you have to make a good end user documentation (but you have to anyways for the invoice verification) and about two good flow charts. This together with some trainings really needs the time.
    Bye

  • Workflow - Customer Block/Unblock

    Hi Experts,
We have done workflow settings as per the link
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/Workflow%20for%20Customer%20Blocking%20and%20UnBlocking
    for Customer Block/Unblock.
TASK 1 - customer block after create/change - we assined object type ZKNA1 - Method Block,
In our Block method code is as follows
    INCLUDE <OBJECT>.
BEGIN_DATA OBJECT. " Do not change.. DATA is generated
    DATA:
      BEGIN OF KEY,
          CUSTOMERNO LIKE KNA1-KUNNR,
      END OF KEY.
END_DATA OBJECT. " Do not change.. DATA is generated
    BEGIN_METHOD BLOCK1 CHANGING CONTAINER.
    update kna1 set sperr = 'X' where kunnr = object-key-customerno.
    END_METHOD.
We are unable to get the value of the  object-key-customerno in where condition ,
If we dont use where condition all customers are getting blocked.
So how can we get the customer number which is created/changed into my block method?
    Please help us.
    Rajeswari

    Hi ,
I think you can use user-exit to block the customer .
    function module : EXIT_SAPMF02D_001
    DATA : lv_kna1 type char30 value '(SAPMF02D)KNA1' .
            FIELD-SYMBOLS : <fs_xkna1> type kna1 .
            ASSIGN : (lv_kna1) TO <fs_xkna1> .
            <fs_xkna1>-AUFSD = '01' .
            <fs_xkna1>-LIFSD = '01' .
            <fs_xkna1>-FAKSD = '01' .
Above abap code is trying to input 01 value in Customer View in order to block the customer , you modify the code to suit your requirement ...
Hope it useful for you .

  • Help required: Workflow container block missing

    Dear All,
My workflow builder strangely doesnt show the container elements block.
How do I add container elements now?
Any idea of the required settings to see and add the container elements?
    Please help me out.
    Thanks,
    nsp

Depends on your version (hint, hint), but my guess is that in the builder you are instead seing the "Step types that can be inserted". Look just at the top of the area. If I am right about your version you will find a line with a text describing what you are seing, and a menu arrow at the right edge. Click the menu arrow to display the list of available 'views'.
The workflow container view is still there in ECC 6.0.

  • Workflow - Invoice Blocked for Price Reason / Qty Reason

    Hi Ramki / Workflow Gurus,
Has anyone worked with Workflows WS20000397 and Workflow for Qty Reason ?
Please advise me about Agent Determination. I want to workitem to Cost Center Manager.
    Warm Regards.
    Pras

    Hi Pras,
I have not worked with WS20000397 but Agent Determination should be no different from any other workflow. Depending on how a user is identified as a Cost Center Manager, you can probably create a custom rule or use any available tool (evaluation path?).
BTW, workflow in now included in the Business Process Management (BPM)forum.
Can you send me your email address? Mine can be found on my business card.
    Cheers,

  • Block item in my workflow

I would like to ask you regarding blocks in SAP Finance module.
I have posted an invoice with MIRO and it was blocked due to quantity mismatch. After that I performed a reversal with MR8M and reposting and everything went well.
The issue is that I have the first document still in mi workflow as "block" , when I execute the item and try to "cancel and re-enter" I have the message that the item contains cleared items (because it was already paid)
Is there a way to remove this document from my workflow?
    Thank you for your feedback

When registering the custom workflow from Application Server Control (Enterprise Manager Web Site), you will see an option to specify whether the workflow is blocking:

  • Workflow Modularization and Performance

One of the great benefits of workflow system is the flexibility to develop reuseable, integrated processes.  In a recent discussion with a SAP representative he mentioned that when developing a workflow it is important to be mindful of the resources utilized when calling a sub-workflow.
I would like to get some input from anyone who has recommendations on when to draw the line on modularization.   For example, if you have multiple basic processes that are used repeatedly is it best practice to develop generic flexible sub-workflows that may be reutilzed in many situation or is it best to simply redevelop the process in each calling workflow to avoid the resources required to generate new workflow containers, bindings, etc.
Is there a general rule of thumb as to where to draw the line with modularization?  When does the use of multiple worfklow calls begin to impact the system performance to a point that negates the gains from less development effort?  Any opinions here would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nick D

    Hi Arghadip,
Thanks for the response and I agree that in most scenarios a custom resuable task/method is the best approach when applicable because this avoids the need for additional workflow elements.
The scenario that I have currently come across is that my client is looking into implementing a large collection of nearly 100 workflows, of which, many are all dealing with the same documents and users but just arranged in a particular order based on runtime data.   During review of the processes we noticed patterns that there are blocks of steps that are utilized in the same sequence over and over again for these processes.  Therefore, I am just wondering if it is best to seperate these processes into multiple sub-workflows or just design the workflows reusing the same tasks in each workflow disregarding the redundancy of these blocks of steps.
    Example:
    Workflows
    Workflow 1 = Block 1 > Block 2 > Block 3 > Block 4 > Block 5
    Workflow 2 = Block 1 > Block 2 > Bock 6 > Block 5
    Workflow 3 = Block 1 > Block 4 > Block 3 > Block 5
    Workflow N
    Blocks
    Block 1 = Task 1 > Task 2 > Task 3 > ...
    Block 2 = Task 4 > Task 5 > Task 6 > ...
    Block N
As always I will attempt to use conditions and resuable tasks/methods whenever possible but just looking for any input that people may have in regards to performance with sub-workflows.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Nick D

  • Read Workflow Container Elements attributes

    Hi,
I am using a F.M <b>'RH_GET_TASK_ATTRIBUTES'</b> to get the attributes of the <b>Workflow container</b> elements.
But the above F.M does not show the element attributes that I create inside the Workflow Builer under <b>Workflow Container Block</b> and I dont select either Import or Export Properties.
Is there any F.M that reads ALL Workflow Container elements.

If you want to clear a single element, use a container operation and assign it to space. If you need to clear an internal table, create another internal table container element that is always empty. Then, inside the container operation assign the empty table to the table you want to clear.
    Basically, you are doing this:
    container_element = space. OR container_element = ' '.
    container_internal_table[ ] = container_empty_internal_table[ ].

  • Workflow activation per Company Code.

  • Reg:Workflow event

    Dear all,
Can anyone help me out of this issue.I created a work flow which on creation of Project it should trigger a mail in Development server .So i  used the event CREATION of BUS2001 and i activated event linkages every thing .So when ever I create a project the event CREATION should trigger but instead of event getting triggered the "WORK FLOW STARTED" block is getting triggered and work flow is in READY state only.
The same behavior of Event triggering i observed in even QUALITY server too and i checked for some other
work flows even for them  also instead of event getting triggered the WORK FLOW STARTED block is getting triggered and Workflows are in READY mode but in Production server these Workflows are working fine.
So how can i make the event to trigger instead of Workflow Starting block in DEV ???

    Hi,
It Seems, the workflow settings affected. This will happen if  you Take client copy from PRD or  Restarted the Dev & QA System or if the system crash occured. Test the workflow using the T.code SWUE and SWUS check it working fine or not, If not working  check the SWU3 Configuration is fine or not  as mentioned in the above reply.
