Workflow - Move files fails with Something went wrong error.

I am trying to create a work flow on a list that holds documents. The workflow checks for a column value to be equal to the string "Awarded". If the condition is true the file is moved from one library to another. This works fine.
However when I try to run the workflow on a folder in the list I am greeted with a dialog box that says something went wrong.
Checking the ULS reader logs I did find an associated error that reads VALUE DOES NOT FALL WITHIN EXPECTED RANGE.
I guess in a nutshell that means it cant find what it is looking for.
So to recap, the workflow will run with individual files in the list who's attribute is set to awarded in a text colum. IT will not run on the same list on folders in the list. I need to have the ability to move entire folders from one library to another
based on that condition. Any ideas why this fails?

Hi,
As per my understanding you want to run the workflow when you add a folder, for that you can see below link.
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/daf59d7f-1073-4186-a807-29dcbd83b3c5/upload-a-document-using-webservices-without-changing-its-modification-and-creation-dates?forum=sharepointdevelopmentlegacy

Hi Thanks,
Actually I am simply trying to copy an entire folder full of files from one library to another. Works fine with single files but does not seem to work when trying to copy a folder.

    Hi,
For a better troubleshooting, I suggest you do as the followings:
    1. Check the ULS log for more detailed error message, for SharePoint 2013, the ULS log is located at the path:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS
You can use ULS Log Viewer to check the information in the log.
    2. You can use fiddler to track if there is something wrong in the workflow request.
Here are some detailed articles about debugging workflow:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dn508412.aspx

    Thanks

    here are the logs.
Not sure if this will make any difference, but there are 2 domains on exchange one is mail.domain1.com and another is webmail.domain.com
we have added another owa virtual directory for the second domain when we were having issues but i think since we are having a problem on the first domain owa, the second one will have the same.
just wondering why ecp can still work when owa doesnt. outlook clients can connect and so are phones.

hi mate, have you checked that you are up to date with the latest firmware for your handset? also try Restoring the phone to factory settings.

  • Classic 'something went wrong' error message.. REALLY?

I am trying to upload a 32 second silent video from iMovie 11 to Facebook. I have tried the 'export to facebook' option...I have exported the video as a .mov, then tried to upload to Facebook..I have changed the videos size...restarted...reinstalled iMovie....nothing...all result in the brillantly simple, but completly useless error message 'something went wrong, please try again'.
    Can anyone help me?

    nice idea!
remembers me, in those times, I created in Garageband a 'nix.mp3', which was 3 minutes of plain silence - this fake audio track somehow outwitted YT.
meanwhile, for YT, this workaorund isn't needed anymore, but I have no idea, how FaceBook handles it ............

  • Something went wrong error message in Nokia Asha 5...

    Hi All,
I am getting an error message  Something went wrong  for my Nokia Asha 502 mobilephone while using the camera application, I am getting this message in the background . Kindly advice how can I permanently fix this issue.
In one occassion I reset the mobile phone and it worked for sometime , I took a couple of pictures but after that again the same problem occured.
Will appreciate for your reply on this
    Thanks!!

Hi, Mobile73268. Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions. What do you mean by reset? Are you referring to your camera settings or the reset from your phone's 'Settings'?
If you've already done this: Settings > Reset phone, you can still try to use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool to flash your phone:

  • Something Went Wrong Error Message Pop Up

Hi.  I am getting a pop up on my motorola android phone all the time.  It says Something Went Wrong  Please wait a moment and try again.  If the problem persists try logging in.  Retry.  I think it may be related to the Cloud, but I am not sure.  It is really really annoying.

"Something Went Wrong  Please wait a moment and try again.  If the problem persists try logging in.  Retry"
When you hit retry, it simply repeats..... HELP !!!

  • 2013 OWA - Open Another Mailbox, :-( something went wrong, Error 500

Our client is experiencing an issue where they are not able to open another mailbox even if the user has full access to the account under mailbox delegation.  The user would click on the 'Open Another Mailbox" and they receive the following error
    something went wrong
    The URL shows the following:
    https://domain.com/owa/auth/errorfe.aspx?httpCode=500
The problem I have is similar to the following post but my client is also behind a UAG 2010 server, and I cannot change to forms based authentication.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/9345d396-b5a6-4d26-a498-7d1539f85d13/exchange-2013-owa-http-500-error-when-opening-another-mailbox?forum=exchangesvrclients
The error within the IIS OWA logs shows as follows.
    2014-02-04 17:48:04 10.100.2.10 GET /owa/auth/errorfe.aspx httpCode=500&cafeReqId=f9be7757-b123-4ce1-a585-b9c4ef45cd4b; 443 - 10.100.2.42 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+MSIE+10.0;+Windows+NT+6.2;+WOW64;+Trident/6.0)
    https://domain.com/owa/[email protected]/?offline=disabled 200 0 0 0
I'm running out of ideas on what could be the issue and but our users will need to manage other mailboxes pretty soon.
Edit:  I should also add that the permissions are correct as the user can connect to the target mailbox via Outlook 2013.

    Hi Bryan
It should be happening for most of the mailboxes since we ran into similar kind of problem recently
There could be 2 reasons for not happening
    IIS Settings not configured properly
    Permission issues
Check SSL Settings on DWS and ensure Ignore Client Certificates is selected
Also remove SSL from DWS for HTTP to HTTPS Redirect
    Check the permission under ADUC
Check if  Exchange Server Object is member of  tab of Domain Admins if so remove them. Also remove Exchange Organization Administrators and Exchange Servers group from Organization Management if they are added

  • Sorry, something went wrong - Open Office File from Search Results Page with Office Web Apps

    Hi,
I'm getting "Sorry, something went wrong" error when I'm trying to open any office document from inside Search Results Page with Office Web Apps, the same error is appearing in the document preview as well.
The error in SharePoint logs says that the file cannot be found.
Please note that this error is coming only when the "Filename" of the document is not written in English (in my case its written with Arabic characters).
If I try to open it from the document library, its opening properly with no errors.
    The only difference between two URLs (document URL in Search Results and in Document Library) is the value for "sourcedoc" attribute;
In the case of Search Results page, the filename in "sourcedoc" attribute is kept as is with Arabic characters.
While in the Document Library, the filename in "sourcedoc" attribute is converted into different characters (something like: "B9%D9%85%D9%8").
Anybody have an idea on how to overcome this issue, implement a workaround or modify the "sourcedoc" behavior?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Hamza AlSughier

    Dear Wendy,
Thanks for your efforts, I already tried your last suggestion before, but this didn't solve my problem.
Actually my end users are accessing this portal using ADFS and HTTPS.
Finally I got this solved, I have done below to get my overall solution working perfectly:
    - First I have configured Windows Authentication and ADFS Authentication on the same zone which is the default zone.
    - The issue when opening office documents with Arabic file name has disappeared as a result of first change.
    - Then I have faced an issue where we are not able to crawl content under Default zone, however we have to do so, after too many efforts, I found that its related to the Load-balancer/proxy, I have made the crawler server
    to crawl himself (http://CrawlServerName:PortNumber).
    - Also a change on Alternate Access Mapping was needed, I have set one of the extended zones (which is running Windows Authentication only) as Internal URL for the Default Zone, and this is was the URL I used for Crawling.
I have configured Server Name Mappings to make sure we got proper URLs in Search Results.
    - Then we faced another issue, which is Authentication selection on login page (How to bypass this page, and authenticate using ADFS auto), I used this solution (Set Custom Sign In Page):
    http://0ut0ftheb0x.wordpress.com/2014/01/04/skip-the-authentication-selection-page-at-_logindefault-aspx-in-a-mixed-authentication-environment/.
    - I faced one more issue as a result of above workaround; Sign Out functionality wasn't working well; users get logged in automatically whenever I click on Sign Out. I solved this by modifying the "Sign Out" Control under _layouts;
I made it to redirect users to ADFS Sign Out Page instead of SharePoint Sign Out Page (I know its not recommended, but I don't have any other option).

  • SP 2013 Running Workflow giving Error - Sorry Something went wrong

    Hi,
We have publish workflow running on a document and we need to cancel/ terminate it.
On the workflow Page we can see under the "Running Workflows" , the workflow is running. But when we click on that it gives the Something went wrong error message. As we are not able to goto the workflow status page on UI, we dont get option to
    End the workflow.
To Cancel the workflow we tried following things -
    1. Powershell command to get the workflow object and cancel it. But using the powershell command- $listItems.Workflows does not give the instance of this stuck workflow. If we start new workflow on that item , it will get added to the count but this stuck
workflow does not come under its count. So we are not able to get its instance using powershell and cancel it.
    2. Using client side programming we tried directly passing the workflow instance name and terminate it but it gives the exception that "given key was not present in the dictionary"

    Hi Prashant,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to cancel the stuck workflows in SharePoint 2013.
If the workflow is designed in SharePoint, I recommend to go to the Workflow Settings of the document library, click Remove, Block, or Restore a Workflow to remove the workflow with the stuck instances and then republish the workflow from Designer to SharePoint.
Or you can use the code in the link below to cancel all the workflow instances to see if the issue still occurs:

  • Something Went Wrong Trying to install...

I haven't every been able to get AIR to work on my laptop
since it was called Apollo, but I got a bunch of cool links to
stuff at MAX that I wanted to try out, so I uninstalled the AIR
Runtime I had, rebooted, installed AIR 1.5, and now all attempts to
install AIR applications com back with the dreaded "Something Went
Wrong Trying to install this application." error.
I'm running Vista Home Premium, and I did run into a problem
where the HKLM/Software/Classes/.air keys were locked, and after
wrestling with the Registry permissions, I managed to clean that
up, so the installer now seems to be creating and deleting those
keys properly. However, I'm still getting this "Something Went
    Wrong" error.
    I've created .airappinstall.log and .airinstall.log files in
my home directory, but the .airappinstall.log file remains empty.
The .airinstall.log file shows a successful install of the AIR
    runtime.
I've got several .air files that I've downloaded and saved to
my computer, and these seem to suffer the same problems as if I
were using the "Badge" installations online.
If I uninstall the AIR application, and then use a Badge
install to install both the application and the runtime, both
successfully install. However, any subsequent application installs
fail with the same "Something went wrong" message.

    Do you have Vista 64bit?
Does this look like your problem?

  • Sorry, Something Went Wrong, Unexpected Error Occurred

Having a very strange issue with main SharePoint 2013 Page after upgraded all the way from 2003 to 2013. Initially setup 2013 Web App for just http and I could log in with my user account and do all things for which there are assigned privileges. Then converted
to SSL and I receive the Sorry, Something Went Wrong error on the main page. No other user account we have tried has any problem whatsoever. This is currently an upgrade test environment but am very worried that we will encounter other users that have the
same problem on the main page or some other site page. Thing is, I cannot find a single log entry that contains the Correlation value in the error report and it is only when hitting the site using SSL. It does not matter what computer I am using (tried multiple).
The other users testing have no issues so far.
Additional testing. When I change back to http set in Public URLs I have no problems but others do. When set to https in Public URLs I have problem and they don't. However, I was the first and only one, other than farm account (which never has problems)
to work on the site using straight http.
Any help on this would be appreciated. I have scanned through table upon table in the User Profile database thinking there must be something in there messing with profiles or setting some sort of default but cannot think of a thing. App Pool needs to be
    restarted in addition to IISRESET?

Are you talking about central administration (e.g. "main SharePoint 2013 page")?
if yes, make sure to set bindings in IIS to include a certificate, preferably a wildcard * cert. and then run
    Set-SPCentralAdministration -Port 443
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607832(v=office.15).aspx
If you're talking about your team site, for ex. make sure you set binding for https on the site in IIS and use a wildcard cert.
You can run a Merge-SPLogFile -Path c:\SP-error.txt -Correlation Input-Your-CorrelationID-Here and then paste the results on this blog and the group can help you, better if more info is provided.
If there is a correlation ID, you can get it with Merge-SPLogFile.
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607721(v=office.15).aspx you may have to use start and end times.
