Workflow notification in Inbox
Hi,
The CQ environment is a shared environment where multiple applications are hosted.
Our application uses a customized workflow where all the steps except the last one are OOTB. The last step is implemented in our application as a process step.
When the workflow is initiated on a payload, what we observe is that a notification starts showing up on the inbox of the group intended.
Now when the member belonging to the group completes the step, the notification does not go away from his/her inbox. All the notifications stay in the Inbox until the last step is completed.
This is confusing the content authors, reviewers and publishers. We are not able to find out the exact reason for this behavior.
The issue occurs only in one environment, whereas the issue is not reproducible in other CQ environments.
Could anyone help us in diagnosing the issue? Help is very much appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
Anoop Kumar
Hi Anoop,
There are only 2 suspect I can think off either
* Workflow model participant is different between instance. nor
* Group mapping is different between 2 envirnoments. Probabily Group mapping is not consistent between envirnoment.
File a daycare & get jcrdiff tool. Between two instances compare /home/ . The difference out might help.
Thanks,
Sham

How to get response of Workflow Notification Email from MS Outlook Express.
Hi All,
I have two questions:
1. Our business users had a requirement to approve or reject the Workflow Notification Emails form their Email account on MS Outlook Express. When they perform action from MS Outlook Express it sends email to wfmailer but no action perform in aplication. The notification inbox in application shows this notification as OPEN notification and the requested function also shows 'Waiting for Approval'.
2. I need to hide Request Information button/link from the email notification send through Workflow mailer to user. There are three actions button available in email notification Apprve, Reject and Request Information. I need to have only two button Approve and Reject. How to hide Request Information button.
If any one have idea regarding my questions please hlep.

How to configure of INBOUND ServerAs you have given the INBOUND_SERVER value as 'imap.gmail.com' you should specify the GMail user name and password for Inbound account say(eg:abc) and password field.
The replyToAddress and TestAddress should not be same. You need to provide the GMail email address here foe eg: [email protected]
The server 'imap.gmail.com' is SSL enabled you need to instal the corresponding certificate in the instance concurrent and web tier nodes. -

How to configure workflow notification mailer for iPad
EBS R12.1.3
Sun Solaris 11

First i apologize for users here becasue i have to repost this. May be i did not ask proper question last time
Currently my users got the internet expense or requsition approval in an email with an attachment and when users open the attachment the Oracle HTML page open and allow click on approval or reject. This works fine from outlook email from desktop. But when users receive the email on iPad the attachment does not open. It give the blank page.
Can someone advise how can user approve the work flow notification from iPad. This is my analysis for our requirement. Can someone advise am i on right direction. if there is any Oracle docuemnt available then please provide the doscument detail or sequence of doscument that i need to follow
Set up the IMAP4 compilance unique inbound email with INBOX, PROCESS and DISCARD folders
Configure the inbound email from OTM
Ignore the outbound email configuratiion from OTM becasue it is already working. It is set with SMTP
Check the inbound and outbound connection from ebs server
If you can not ping the IMAP server or telnet the SMTP server from ebs server. Make sure firewall/ports are open
Add inbound and outbound server entry in server host file
Apply the patch 16328729 for iPad compatibility
Test it
What would be the over all impact of this change. will the users still able to approve the notification using the attachment or this will change.Pleas see the following links/docs.

Workflow Notification truncated in outlook
Dear Team,
We have designed a Smartform for workflow Notification. The Notification in SAP inbox appears fine.but when it comes to outlook inbox ,its truncated.
Apperciate,if anyone can help me in sorting out this.
Your valuable inputs are highly Apperciated.

AliHi Dezso,
thx for your quck reply.
do have experience with this point (within the note):
Work items based, which are not based on the SAP GUI for Windows user interface can be executed from the e-mail (E.g. WebFlow services, Web Dynpro). Single e-mails can be generated for generic decisions so that the decision can be made directly from the e-mail.
I didn't found any documentation.

Workflow : Notifications
Hi,
I've a notication that has a result type of Reject & Return.
I want to pass a Value Reject when the user press Reject and Return if the user choose Return. how would i do that?
thanksReconfigure Workflow Notification Mailer to the target environment as follows:
"Workflow Notification Configuration After Cloning" document for screenshots.
Logon as “sysadmin” to OAM and click on “Site Map”
Click on “Notification Mailer” under Workflow heading
Click on “Workflow Notification Mailer” under Service Component
Click on “Edit” button on the “Component Details: Workflow Notification Mailer” homepage
Click “Next” or “Back” to go to Step 3 ( Edit Workflow Mailer : Email Servers : )
Enter the “Username”, “Password” and “Test Address”
- Get the username and password for that environment.
- Test address could be your own address.
- All others to remain same, verify as below:
- Inbound Protocol:
- Inbound Server Name:
- Inbox Folder: Inbox
- Outbound Protocol: SMTP
- Outbound Server Name: USNESMTPGW01
Click Next. PLEASE NOTE THAT This should Fail as USNESMTPGW01 is unpingable.
Ask SAs to make USNESMTPGW01 pingable to appropriate IP address.
Click Next once more, the refresh should go through fine now.
Verify the information shown is for that particular environment.
Click on the "Test Mailer" button to test the notification.
Verify the email in your Inbox.
If no email received, check the status of WFNM process.
If it is down, bring it up and try again.
-> Refer to "Step 2: Verify E-mail Processing" of Metalink document: 231286.1 for more details.

Workflow Notification Mailer in 11i
Hi,
I configured workflow notification mailer in 11i,
(a) only outbound Mail Configuration, I enabeld that
(b) started workflow Mailer Service Concurrent Manager
(c) started workflow agent listener service concurrent manager
Once I did the above, I am getting mails from Oracle Alerts..its nice..
But I want to know, the following configuration in workflow mailer wizard
---> Inbound Mailer Configuaration ( IMAP), Can I give same SMTP mail server name in this...
can anybody describe this, what for this configuration ( Inbound Mailer Service)....Notification mailers can also process e-mail responses from users, using the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP). A notification mailer uses a Java-based e-mail parser to interpret the text of each message and create an XML representation of it.
A notification mailer uses three folders in your response mail account for response processing: one to receive incoming messages, one to store processed messages, and one to store discarded messages.
A notification mailer does the following to process response messages:
Logs into its IMAP e-mail account.
Checks the inbox folder for messages. If a message exists, the notification mailer reads the message, checking for the notification ID (NID) and node identifier in the NID line.
If the message is not a notification response, meaning it does not contain an NID line, the notification mailer moves the message to the discard folder and treats it as an unsolicited message. For the first unsolicited message from a particular e-mail address, the notification mailer also sends a warning message back to the sender of the message.
However, to avoid sending unnecessary warnings due to bounced or auto-reply messages, each mailer node stores a list of e-mail addresses from which it has received unsolicited mail, and does not send any further warning messages to those addresses. Instead, if the node receives a second unsolicited message from a particular address, the notification mailer discards the message and raises the oracle.apps.wf.mailer.unsolicited event. You can optionally define a subscription to this event if you want to perform some other action in response to the second unsolicited message. For all subsequent unsolicited messages, the notification mailer simply discards the message.
For more Info Please refer Oracle Workflow Administrator's Guide
Hope it helps!

How to schedule restart of Workflow notification mailer?
We are facing this issue in all environments including production;
Inbound IMAP Notification emails are pending in the INBOX folder of the mail box. These moves to PROCESS folder only after restart of the 'WORKFLOW NOTIFICATION MAILER' every 3 to 4 hours.
I have raised an SR with Oracle support for a solution.

Sending Workflow notification from SAP to Outlook
Hi All,
I want to send my workflow notification mail from my SAP inbox to Outlook.
I have done the same for the work items successfully using Extended Notifications.
However, the same configuration is not working for "Notifications".
Please suggest.

Thanks for your response. It was a simple sent mail step. So I send it directly to the e-mail id of the same user. Simple thing clicked to my mind little late. -

We have a SharePoint Foundation 2013 workflow that sends emails when certain criteria are met. We have tried to customize the emails using SharePoint Designer, but the emails that are received are different.
Ho do we configure SharePoint to send the emails formatted as we specified in the workflow?
The emails we receive are all formatted like this:
Subject:
[Company Name Workflow] - [Item] has been assigned to you
Content:
Task assigned by [User Name] on [Date].
To complete this task:
1. Review [Item].
2. Perform the specific activities required for this task.
3. Use the Open this task button to mark the task as completed. (If you cannot update this task, you might not have access to it. Click here to request access.)Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to customize SharePoint Foundation 2013 workflow notification emails.
We’ll need to do a few things to replace SharePoint’s default notification with our own. The first thing we need to do is turn off SharePoint’s default notification. On the Workflow Tasks list, go the Advanced Settings and select
No for Send e-mail when ownership is assigned. Then we need to create workflow to send email.
There is an article for your reference, although it is about the SharePoint 2007, it still works for SharePoint 2013.
Create a Detailed Custom Task Notification with a SharePoint Designer Workflow
