Workflow or Logistics

Follow up question to my thread on extracting clips.
Is it better to create the subclips and just save the project, or should I create the small .AVI files as I originally intended. I am mainly dealing with 2 hour long video's of family events.  I plan to create DVD's of different type of events such as Xmas, Easter etc. I will also make DVD's for each of my three kids of their footage.  When I am ready to burn to DVD's is it better to create a project by bringing in the smaller .AVI files or work from the project that has the subclips?  One problem with the subclips is that the projects will be sorted by year and not by kids so would have to go and get each subclip for each kid. My thought was to create folders for each kid, event etc. and then save the .AVI files into those folders for later editing into a project to burn to DVD.  Makes sense??

I bought the Raidon USB 3.0 unity and 4 Samsung drives. Installed fine. (I think).
I use a program called "Syncback SE" to do my backups. Have used if for years.  When I went to back up my C drive (about 120gb)  it ran all night and said over three days remaining.  When I ran this backup to a 1TB WD drive it tool about 26 minutes.  Please tell me a RAID 5 setup is not this slow.  Hopefully something is wrong somewhere.

    There is no standard workflow for Quality, but you can create your custom wrokflow using similar logic what has been used for the Qty workflow.

  • Diffrences Between SAP HR workflow and SAP Logistics workflow

    Hello All,
                     Do we need to do any specific configuration settings to be done in the system to work on SAP HR workflow in ECC 6.0?
    I am using SWU3 for automatic workflow customizing?  But I am getting error indicator for u201CCheck Entries from HR Control Tablesu201D in the Maintain Definition Environment Node. 
    Are there any major differences between SAP HR workflow and SAP Logistics Workflow?

          what can be the impact if Check Entries from HR Control Tables setting are not maintain in the System. caz my workflow is going in waiting status and when i have chacked the container for that element then there in _Workitem.ExecuteByUser-ID is coming as <NOT SET>.
    So can you please put some light on this.. that what can be the resion behind this ...?
    Is this a Check Entries from HR Control Tables Problem or any other reason..

  • Logistics Invoice workflow

    Hi All,
              Requirement is for a Logistics Invoice Workflow
              triggered when 1> Price variance block(P) 2>Qty variance block (Q)
                                    3> when GR not found --- dont know which event this raises
              Also 1 invoice can have associated multiple PO's . The PO's can have different buyers . So the buyers should be sent the workitem with only the details of the Po's that he is responsible for  . Also if there is both a qty block and a price block then he should receive just 1 workitem . I don't think they require functionality as in workflow WS20000397 where the workflow automates the change / delete/verify actions and if change is selected then loops through the PO's in the change mode allowing to change price . This functionality will be performed manually , so the workflow itself is more like a notification .
               This is how I was thinking of tackling this .
               1. Get the list of blocked work items for the current invoice into a multiline.
               2. Get the buyers for each invoice line item via the associated PO Litem
                   into another multiline
               3. Get a list of buyers from pt 2 and remove duplicates . move into another multiline .
               4. call a subworkflow ( once for each line of the multine for  buyers ) .
               5. This subworkflow will get the line items belonging to the buyer
                   it will then call a task which will list the line items ( similar to bus2081-LISTBLOCKEDPRICEITEMDATA ). might have to create another method for  LISTBLOCKEDQTYTEMDATA  and call the task based on whichever event is called . I don't know in which category would the no GR created block fall under ?
    The work item can also contain object references for Invoice and each of the PO's so that he can view them as links and display the invoice and PO's .
                   The task will be completed by a invoice.released event , but if so then all the buyers will have to wait for the invoice has been released . maybe I can check if the relevant workitems have been unblocked . If not then send him another workitem . If the user chooses to reject the workitem the requirement is sent to the Accounting clerk which is fine .The workitem will remain in his inbox until he manually completes the workitem .
                   I hope this would work . The only thing I'm not very clear is how I can get a single workitem for both qty & price variances if they occur at the same time as they are 2 different events and will create 2 different workflows ?

    You can trigger a single workflow from different events. Even in this case it will create two workflow instances for the different events that are triggered. I guess you will have to wirte a small function module which can check for the PO properties. If it has both then you can run the workflow for any one branch. This is what comes to my mind.
    For the GR not present scenario you can just have a workflow once an Invoice is created and then run the workflow only if the GR is not present. You can have a check function module for that too.

  • Issue in vendor creation workflow...

    Hi,
    I am trying to upload data from a XLS file for vendor master and thru workflow a notification goes to 3 people who need to fill in the accounting, purchasing and logistics data and the finally the approver will approve it and vendor will be created.
    It so happens that when the accounting person tries to enter the accounting data, for the standard acct group YBST, he is forced to enter the withholding tax code. This is not happening when the same vendor is created manually thru XK01.
    Now this vendor is created for a company code and that does not need to have any withholding tax code.
    We tried a couple of config where for the company code this field was suppressed. This suppression was effective when I tried to create the vendor manually, i.e. I did not see this field and vendor was created. But again, when I tried thru workflow, it failed, and an error message was shown saying " Withholding tax code is mandatory for acct group YBST'.
    Any tips on what could be wrong ? any more config settings to be done ? anything on the workflow front that can be analysed ? Pl advise.

    Resolved. Looks like there was a custom code that had made the tax code mandatory !! I removed it. Thanks.

  • Payment Batch Custom Workflow

    IHAC who wants each Payment Batch to go through an Approval Process. I know that this will be a customization since there are no standard workflows for payment batches.

    Hi Ylee,
                 Three clarifications from my side in response to your process -
    1) Through IMG ---> Material Management ---> Logistics Invoice Verification ---> Incoming Invoice ---> Define Mail to Purchasing When Price Variance Occur, you can be able to set up the message determination so that the related message will be automatically sent to the buyer's inbox as soon as there is any variance between PO price and invoiced amount;
    2) Secondly, it is true that once change is made in the PO, the blocked invoice shall also be released through another transaction MRBR.
    3) You can also technically define the small difference transaction/event key DIF for automatic posting in case of small difference.
    Given your pre-defined process, I would believe that any workflow, once being activated, shall consist of three main steps -
    1) The e-mail notification shall be triggered and sent to buyer as soon as there is any variance;
    2) Once change is made in PO via ME22N transaction, the workflow will be then forwarded to A/P clerk (invoice creator) so as to either run MRBR transaction or manually remove the payment block indicator;
    3) Once this is completed, the e-mail notification will be sent to the buyer (and other related parties, if any) confirming the successful invoice posting.

  • How to trigger FI Standard Workflows

    I have never worked on FI Standard Workflows . As far as I knpow there is a std WF available  WS00400012 with Object type BSEG. For Vendor Down Payment Request, Vendor Payment Request Against Invoice, Vendor Down Payment Posting,Vendor Payment Posting, Vendor Invoice FI, Vendor Invoice Logistics Posting, Vendor Credit Memo, Vendor Debit Memo, Cash Payments, Asset Posting what are the Standard Workflows available and how to trigger these workflows. I have checked with SWELS but WS00400012  is not getting triggered. Is there any SPRO config required for this, POlease help me out with the solution.

    Hello Munish,
    As Venugopal has mentioned, you have to find the relevant BTE for the process and use it to raise an event and in turn trigger the workflow.
    The following is the process to find a BTE and implementing it.
    (1)Goto transction FIBF .Execute it with Attribute type = 'A' and then menu Environment->Info System (P/S ).
    Choose the relevant BTE using the descriptions provided.
    (2)Select the BTE you want to implement.
    (3)Press button Sample function module
    (4)This brings you to SE37 - Copy the sample function module to a Z-function module (First create a new function group for the function module) . Note: The name of the Z-functionmodule is not important
    (5)Edit the code in the new function module
    (6)Go back to transaction FIBF - Menu Settings->Products -> Of a customer and create a new product whicj identifies the new product . Remember to mark the Active field.
    (7)Go back to FIBF menu Settings->P/S function modules->of a customer - Create an entry that links the BTE and Product with the new function module

  • Rename "BPM and Workflow" forum to "SAP Business Workflow"

    G'Day,
    99% of posts in the [BPM and Workflow|SAP Business Workflow; forum deal with SAP Business Workflow. It was originally intended for ccBPM which - though they share some underlying architecture - is basically XI / PI.
    A few ccBPM posts occasionally appear in the WF forum, but they are generally not answered and more appropriate in XI. These days I usually move them to XI when it's clear that the 'local' population won't answer it.
    So to avoid confusion for people I propose to rename the forum to SAP Business Workflow or at least something that doesn't confuse it with XI.
    Any input welcome.

    If there is little to no traffic for BPM, then let's call the forum what it is, SAP Business Workflow - Or Workflow and Guided Procedures? 
    Sidebar: I posted a question to various forums a few weeks ago, regarding 'How can SAP, and ASUG WF/BPM serve you better'.  I am summarizing the responses I got below, in hopes that it helps guide you in your quest.  The names have been excluded to protect the identities, but I think there is some very valuable info in here.  Particularly the final point - which I will follow up on with the respondent.
    Anyway, you didn't ask for it, but here it is.

    - personally for me, I still find the guided procedure in Portals not so user friendly and limited. I think more education and influence around GP will be great. I think the community will also appreciate it.

    - GP and UWL. I think the concept of "IT doing the first time and the business managing their rules" would be challenging. I have not yet seen this happen, especially on the logistics side. There is a session this year on the same topic at TechEd and I look forward to this session. Hopefully it will help us get some insight.
    Right now I am struggling with even getting Workflow off the ground and getting the business to understand what Workflow is and trying to have them budget for it. Workflow is still new to the functional group and even getting them to consider Workflow verse alternatives is somewhat of a challenge. I really have had a great consultant that has taken me under his wing and taken the time to teach me. I think we would be a great story for a presentation.
    My challenges for the next year, is how to get over the hump of selling workflow to the business and actually getting projects planned out. I don't know if anyone has an anwer to that one. My other challege is how to handle transfer of knowledge and maintaining workflow that has been built by consultants.
    1)  I have not attended many SAP webcasts (just one on Solution Manager in the past few months)  I'm planning on attending one this comming Monday on BPM.
    2) I think understanding UWL / SBWP differences, advantages, limitations on one vs the other, would be an important topic.   Also more information on Extended Notiications
    3) Challenges: Upgrades and impact on WF,  Unicode and WF and having more WF ABAP OO objects delivered by SAP, other than the "Absence Notification" sample.
    1.       I havenu2019t personally attended but as a company we give a webinar once a week and weu2019ve had some great attendance
    2.       Technically I think weu2019re OK. We see the need to tell C-level execs where workflow / BPM can help them in businessu2026.
    _3.       Workflow is becoming more and more obscure in the SAP landscapeu2026

    We are using SAP 4.7 R3 and currently we are configuring workflow just for alerts purposes for example we will send an alert to external server whenever logistics invoices verification document will be parked. We will send text to external emailer system and will be received by MS-outlook. We want to attach that document with my text . How can I do that?

    Dear Friends,
    I am in the process of configuring WF for the Price block at the time of posting of invoices.
    I maintain the following setting in customizing:
    Logistics Invoice Verification->Invoice Block->Activate Workflow Template->TG 20000030    Assign agents to tasks->WS 20000397 Treatment of inv. blkd for price, Log.IV->TS 20000661 At least 1 item blocked for price reas.?
    Now for this task, I want to assign the PO creator. I do not want to assign Agent as a specific SAP user. It should be the generic user who creates the PO.
    Business Requirement: A mail should be sent to purchaser, when the invoice is blocked for price reasons.
    Please Advise.

    I want to set a deadline monitoring for a case when the approver doesnt execute the workitem even after 2days. (so I believe I need to use "Requested Start")?
    Further I understand how this is  done, my question is can we do change it to the standard template or do I need to copy it and then make the changes.
    Also Kindly share some information on using SRM ALERTS for the same functionality to send reminders/alets to approvers on delay of approving task.

    I have an metalink id and i tried searching in it, but couldnt get anything like a tutorial.
    I remember once seeing a side with couple of PDFs for some modules, explaining the business process/workflow for the above modules. I dont have the site url now :-(

    In the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Logistics Invoice Verification, you can specify for which company code, which vendors, which invoices, and above which amount a document is subject to release. In an invoice document that is completed for posting, the amount that is subject to release is based on the gross amount. (Logistics Invoice Verification ® Document Parking ® Define Release Criteria)
    Technical Implementation (MM-IV-LIV)
    Object Types
    Object technology is used to create the interface between the ERP functions and the Workflow system. The information given below is primarily of a technical nature and is not necessary for an initial overview.
    Incoming invoice
    Object type Bus2081 (Incoming invoice)
    Workflow Template
    The actual operational procedure is implemented as a workflow template. You will find this workflow template in your ERP system.
    Workflow template: WS 20001004
    Description: Release the Completed Log. IV Document
    Triggering Event for Workflow Template
    The event for workflow template IncomingInvoice.CompletedToRelease is triggered if the parked document is complete for posting (RBKP-RBSTAT='B') and is subject to release (RBKP-RFGKZ='X').
    This coupling between the event and the workflow template to be started is deactivated in the standard system. If you want to use the workflow template, you have to activate it in Customizing for Logistics Invoice Verification.
    User Roles
    You complete parked invoices for posting and release them at the following organizational levels.
    Processor Determination: Clerk Responsible for Releasing Invoices
    If you have already maintained an organizational unit, you can use it here.

    Use the organizational unit in Customizing for Logistics Invoice Verification in the activity for defining release criteria.

    Authorization Objects
    You must have maintained the authorization to display invoices (activity 03, M_RECH_WRK) for users who are responsible for releasing invoices.
    You must have maintained authorization to change parked invoice documents (activity 77, M_RECH_WRK) for users who are to complete parked invoice documents for posting.
    Several other specific customizing steps are necessary for this workflow template in addition to the general customizing that is necessary to make sure that the workflow system functions properly.
    Activating Event-Receiver Linkage
    The event IncomingInvoice.CompletedToRelease (Invoice document completed for posting and subject to release) for object type BUS2081 (Incoming invoice) is an event that triggers workflow template WS 20001004 and is entered in the event linkage table as such as the standard event.
    This coupling between the event and the workflow template to be started is deactivated in the standard system. If you want to use the workflow template, you activate the linkage between the triggering event and the workflow template as receiver of the event in Customizing for Logistics Invoice Verification. (Logistics Invoice Verification ® Document Parking ® Activate Workflow Template for Release for Posting.)
    Use
    The release of invoice documents that have been completed for posting is supported by a link to a workflow procedure.
    Prerequisites
    The event IncomingInvoice.CompletedToRelease must be triggered for an invoice (BUS2081) so that a release procedure is started. We recommend implementing this workflow together with the SAP workflow template WS20001003.
    In Customizing for Logistics Invoice Verification, you maintain the activity Define Release Criteria under Document Parking.
    Features
    Release for Posting
    In the release step, the person responsible for releasing the invoice document decides if it should be released. The system uses the virtual attribute ReleaseAgent for object type BUS2081 to determine the person responsible for releasing the document. The release criteria in Customizing for Logistics Invoice Verification are checked for this.
    If the person responsible decides to release the document, it is first released in the background and then posted.
    If he or she decided to reject the document, it is forwarded for further processing to the accounts payable clerk responsible for completing invoice documents for posting. The rejection reason should have been entered using the memo function.
    Completing Invoices for Posting
    The accounts payable receives a work item in his or her inbox. In this work item, he or she can read the reason why the invoice document was rejected and change it. If the accounts payable clerk parks the changed invoice document, saves it as complete, deletes it, or posts it, the workflow ends. It makes sense to save the invoice document as complete and therefore trigger the release workflow again, assuming that the invoice document is subject to release.
    If the invoice document is parked, deleted, posted, or released in the background outside the workflow process, the workflow ends.

  • Interested to learn about your backup workflows?

    i'd be curious to know how users back up their data.
    i know there are plenty of soft/hardware specs involved, but what i'd be interested to know is how people handle the logistics and workflows in a world of exploding data volumes. the internal hdd will fill up quickly, bootable backups should be separate, yet another external hdd may be used for streaming, itunes content may need to be accessible from various engines through a hdd attached to aebs, aperture has its vault and raw its appetite for capacity, etc.
    ...and maybe i am paranoid, ten years ago, a burglar may probably not have taken albums with him but today, he will for sure take everything with an apple logo on it...
    how do you do it?

    I use different backup methods depending on the system and how badly I do NOT want to loose my data.
    My MacBook is the most backed up.
    a) SuperDuper to a network mounted volume every day at work (this is the only manually started backup).
    b) Time Machine when I'm at home.
    c) Mozy.com for selected files so I have off-site backup.
    d) And rsnapshot for selected files to my workstation at work over lunch.
    My Mac mini, uses Time Machine. It is also my home network server with 2TB of external Drobo storage, and it is where my networked MacBook Time Machine backups go.
    My Wife's iBook G4 is backed up via rsnapshot every night to my Mac mini external Drobo storage.
    My Mom's iMac G4 is backed up over an ssh internet connection every night using rsnapshot to my Mac mini external Drobo storage.
    My Wife's MacBook Pro is backed up via Time Machine to the Mac mini external Drobo storage.
    My work Redhat Linux development system (2000 miles away) has selected files backed up to my work PowerMac G5 via rsnapshot several times a day over an ssh connection.
    My work PowerMac G5 boot disk is backed up via SuperDuper ever night to the other internal disk.
    Selected files on my PowerMac G5 are backed up via rsnapshot every night to an external disk.
    Select files on several key work systems are backup nightly via tar, which is compressed, and copied over the network to my workstation.
    My workstation has about 1.8TB of storage on it. I'm thinking of replacing the 300GB and 500GB internal disks with two 1TB disks now that I'm seeing prices in the $135 range. Another $10 price drop and I think I just might do it

    Recently i came to know about WIS.
    When i researched, i found that it is a workflow reporting tool for LIS (Logistics) system only.
    (1) Then what about workflow reporting for non-LIS system ?
    (2) From SDN, I discovered that it is going to be obselete soon. Then what is the alternative for the same ?
    Please answer my qus.
    (3) I will highly appreciate if you can give more practical examples of the WIS reporting.
    In SDN, till now no clear cut explanation is posted for WIS.
    Let's make this thread count so that others can leverage from it.

  • Cancel Order Interfaced to Logistics

    Folks,
    Customer has done OM Line workflow customizations ( R12 Environment).
    after BOOKING when CSR cancel the ORDER LINE, Order Lines shows AWAITING SHIPPING.
    This is causing Logistics Issues.
    Can anyone shed some light on why this possibly could happen.
    Issue is sporadic.
    Is there a PATCH or this is BUG, or something else.
    please advise.

    Thanks for providing details about your issue..
    Another setup you need to check is Processing Constraints if there is any for Order cancellation....
    Navigation : OM Super User Resp --> Setup --> Rules --> Processing Constraints....
    In this form Query on Application : Order Management, Entity : Order Line / Order Header.. Look for Operation as Cancel in Constraints header and corresponding condtions.. This will give you details of Cancel info, like in waht condition you can't cancel a Order..
