Hello, I have found an important bug in the Workflow portlet.
I need to know how the owner is, in order to communicate the problem and the possible solution.
Thanks

Hi Jose,
What exactly is the bug that you have hit upon? Can you give me a description of it?

  • NO DATA FOUND IN WORKFLOW PORTLET

    Hi,
Presently, I am working oracle portal integration project, in that , I integrate workflow portlet with portal. So, I have taken workflow portlet (version_beta_9.0.4.1) from portalstudio site, but it is giving "No Data Found" messeage. I have some doubts regarding workflow portlet.
    (i) How to add new notification?.
(ii) Shall I configure any file?
(iii) Where can I get meterial for workflow portlet?
    My working environment is:
    (i) oracle 10g (9.0.4) on windows 2000 professional
Please give step by step process to integrate workflow portlet with portal.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Sridhar Thrasu

    hello
your post is two years old now, so i am poping it pretty late, but did you get answers to your questions. i believe, we need to configure the oracle workflow engine itself

  • Workflow Portlet in other languages

Has anyone managed to get the default Workflow Portlet working for languages such as Chinese.
    The current symptoms are:
    (1) When using default portlet and the Chinese character in the subject is unrecognizable.
    (2) When clicking the subject to show the detail of the workflow notification, it seems that the CHR(10) contained in the message has been removed

New since CR 9 is unicode support: http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/KanisaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=http--supportbusinessobjectscom-communityCS-TechnicalPapersNoNav-cr9whatsnewpdfasp&sliceId=&dialogID=24286720&stateId=1 0 24288668
"Unicode support means that the program code level in Crystal Reports is able to recognize language
characters that are based on Unicode.
Unicode is used to display double-byte characters such as the Chinese and Japanese character sets.
This enables you to create Crystal Reports that can display right-to-left languages and multiple
    languages in a single report."
So if your data is in unicode Crystal will be able to properly display the various languages.
If you wanted one single report to be viewed in different languages, then static strings in the report would need to be converted into formula fields which changes the text into the appropriate language based on a language parameter.  Some strings could not be handled in this manner though such as custom prompting strings.

  • Install OracleAS Workflow Portlet

I'm trying to install OracleAS Workflow Portlet on a 10.1.2.02 application server.
The installation instructions say I have to have a PDK-java installation and configuration that is complete. The notes say that
"Starting with PDK 9.0.4.1.0, the PDK download is intended to be installed and deployed in a standalone OC4J instance only. If you plan to use PDK in an Oracle Application Server instance, you must get and install the corresponding Oracle Application Server releases or patchsets" Can someone point me to where I can get the application server release and patchsets and how to install it.
    Thanks in advance

No need to install the framework, it is already installed.

  • Workflow portlet displays no data found

I've managed to succesfully install the workflow portlet.
I've added it to a portal page but when the portlet displays on the page all I get is no data found under the headings.
When I go to the default workflow page for the same user I can see data in the worklist option. I'm using single sign on to access the default workflow page.
Can anyone help, thanks in advance.

I don't know what version you use but in my case, I use workflow as a component of Oracle Content Services (v 10.1.2)
You need to configure the notification mailer, setup an email account on your mail server for inbound message, turn on imap, etc... check out the documentation I used here: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25553_01/content.1012/b25275/workflow.htm#i1009931
    To enable SSO for workflow:
    dads.conf looks like this:
    <Location /pls/wf>
    SetHandler pls_handler
    Order deny,allow
    Allow from all
    AllowOverride None
    PlsqlDatabaseConnectString (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=nv-oasrv5.netversant.com)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=netocs.netversant.com)))
    PlsqlNLSLanguage AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8
    PlsqlAuthenticationMode Basic
    PlsqlDefaultPage wfa_html.home
    # Added by Nicolas
    PlsqlDatabasePassword <owf_mgr password>
    PlsqlDatabaseUsername owf_mgr
    # End of entries
    </Location>
    And mod_osso looks like this:
    <Location /pls/wf>
    require valid-user
    AuthType Basic
    </Location>

  • Stand alone workflow portlet

    Hi
Is there any out of box portlet provided by Oracle that displays notifications of standalone workflow. Please note I am not using E-Business Suite workflow. I tried with the workflow portlet on integration tools of portalcenter.oracle.com. It displays only few recent notifications but no search option and to navigate to old notifications. All these features are very much desired by my client.
    Any ideas?
If any body else has done similar work, can you polease share your ideas?

    I use workflow 2.6.4 for 10g r2.
    workflow 2.6.3 can download alone.

  • Help!! Workflow portlet

How do I include a Workflow Portlet into a Portal page? I need HELP!!!!
    Thanks...

The workflow team is in the process of creating portlets for things like status and notifications. I believe they are planning to release them early next year, but you would need to confirm that with them.

  • Workflow portlet for v2

I've downloaded the workflow portlet and want to use it in ias v2, but the instalation guide and the JPDK packages this portlet uses are all from v1. It's possible to put this portlet to work in v2 and OC4J, if so how?
    Thanks,
    Antonio Cruz

    Hi,
Yes, I downloaded it from the Integration Solutions Page.
I know that this is a sample released for test, evaluation, and education purposes but, Do you know when the next release will be available?
I have it integrated to my portal and it works great. I think, it’s a perfect solution because it’s easer to the user to respond the notifications from the portal than from the workflow pages.
The only limitation I found was with this kind of useful attributes. I think that I can develop a JSP portlet (using the workflow engine API) that allows the user to add a comment before responding the notification, but may be I should wait the next release.
    What do you think?
    Thanks for your help.

  • How to synchrorise two workflow tasks/calls?

    Hi all,
We are writing a Workflow client application (in Java) and having problem getting valid state of the workflow because of the delay in PL/SQL API.
    Here's are two example:
    1) First we respond to a notification (using WF_Notification.Respond). After the Respond call has returned, we use a new transaction to scan the table for open notification for the user.
We got back the responded notification as open notification as the table values have not been changed.
We found that the table values will only change after a certain period.
    2) Expedite the process
First we call the handleError API. Then read the table for activity statuses. Again, the table values are not updated even the handleError API has returned. We need to wait for 1 or 2 sec before the table are in valid states.
Anyone know how can we synchorise these? May be there's a flag we can set to force the API blocks until it completed processing or a flag we can check to find out the status of the last API call.
    Thanks.

I had similar issues when I developed a workflow portlet. I maintained a record of recently actioned notifications and hid them from the user for the next few requests.
    Regards,
    Mark

  • What Collaboration Portlets Are Available?

Does anyone know of a source for collaboration portlets such as thereaded discussions, chat rooms, facailiated discussons. Also I'm looking for a workflow portlet. Any help would be appreciated.
    Jim

Workflow porltet is available as a community contribution through
Knowledge Exchange. Subscribe to Developer Services using
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/servlet/page?_pageid=2241&_dad=ops&_schema=OPSTUDIO
and take advantage of the benefits.
Currently it is 11th in "most recent contributions" portlet, in

  • Workflow usability in 10.1.4

    Hi,
We are currently looking at the upgrade of portal (we are users of 9iAs and used a little bit of the 10g) and I have some questions.
Has anyone used the Workflow Portlets? How easy is it to set up? How easy is it to use?
Can users contribute a new content item and view the progress of their content through workflow?
Anyone that has used this new feature can you please share your experiences.
Also, does anyone know if Oracle Instant Portal has to be installed separately from Oracle Portal?
    Thanks,
    Jessica

    Hi Jessica
I've tried a bit the seeded workflow portlets. They work fine, there is a portlet for checking workflow status, and an other one for item approval.
But ... that's all. If they suit your needs, you can use them, it's really simple. But you can't imporve them, for instance if you want the users to receive an email alert during the workflow process you'll have to develop your own stuff.
Also do NOT use Oracle Workflow if you want to develop your own workflow system, as it is depreciated and disapears in the 11g versions (replaced with BPEL).

  • How to use the CMS functionality in Sun Portal Server 7.2

    Hi All,
How to use the CMS functionality using the ccd.war(Portlet) which is available in the library as i could add it to my channel but not able to show the functionality as it is showing the error msg "You are currently not logged in. Please login." should I create userid and there respective roles inorder to use the CMS functionality.
Has any one used this as I could this in glass fish server.
    Any Input is appreciated.
    Thanks & regards
    Srikanth

Have a look at the "*Roles*" section of the portal server 7.2 content management system guide
http://docs.sun.com/source/820-4275/index.html . You can also look at [project mirage|https://mirage.dev.java.net] for some screencasts
    Alternatively,
    1. ccd.war has 3 portlets in it:
    (a) custom content definition portlet
    (b) custom content portlet
    (c) workflow portlet
    2. Inorder to work with these portlets, user needs to be in anyone of the below roles:
    (a)Consumer (b) Editor (c) Approver (d) Administrator (e) Submitter (f) Contributor (g) Publisher
    3. By default ccd.war gets deployed using a default roles file (/var/opt/SUNWportal/tmp/ccd.roles.properties)
Note: In windows, you may not find this file
    4. Access the portlets as a user in any of the role mentioned in the ccd.roles.properties
    (OR)
you can use a new roles file which has mapping to your custom roles. For this , undeploy existing ccd.war and deploy again with a new roles.properties file
    Hope this helps!
