Offline approval is a easy solution. I think LOTUS mail supports HTML mail.

I think you have kept untiked to PO Approved in Administration> System Initialization> Document Setting Per Tab--> Purchase Order.
Put the Purchase Order Approved Ticked........

Workflow: SAP or Lotus Domino

In my company we need start implementing workflow's. We have to decide what is the platform Sap workflow or Lotus Domino Workflow, I think we must have a unique team to develop workflow's. I need to understand what is the advantage of each one. I think that Lotus Domino must be easier than SAP and cheaper, but we already have an ABAP team and we are being encouraged to go to Sap NetWeaver. We intend to go to Sap NetWeaver next year.

Following points will help you to take decision .
1. First you need to identify what are the workflow scenarios you want to implement. Say for example , if you want to implement Workflow for Purchase Order Approval and PO is done in SAP , then its better
you develop workflow in SAP itself. Otherwise you need to all the info. to Lotus Notes for approval and back to SAP after Approval.
2. Since you are planning to Enterprise Portal ( Netweaver) i think developing Workflow in SAP is a wise decision.
3. You are already having an ABAP team , for an abaper learning workflow is not a complex task , they can easily learn. Train 1 or 2 abaper's in WF so that you can use their skill whenever necessary
4. If you are planing to develop WF which will not require any(very little like org.structre ) information from SAP , then you can think of going completely to Lotus Notes Workflow....

Validation on Post Parked Document via SAP Workflow (SAP Business Workplce)

Hi,
I have create validation rules, and I have excluded t-code type FBV0, FBV1 and FBV2 by following SAP Notes 158739 in that validation prerequisites, so when user post parked document using t-code FBV0 the validation is not carried out and it's work perfectly.
But when user try to post parked document using SAP workflow, the validation was carried out hence, user can't post the parked document. Does anyone now how to resolve this? Appreciate your advise to solve this issue. Thanks.

Dear Experts,
We have SAP HR triggers as per our requirement. Whenever new employee gets created in SAP HR, in CUP - HR triggers.
When we see it in process log, it shows the request in process. It gives below information. Please check

Hi Saurabh,
The issue is due to a conflict with the intiators. I recommend to check the [HR Triggers Configuration Guide|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b050c6bf-f8f4-2b10-67aa-95573e611ee4?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true] to configure the HR Triggers correctly.

PR - Approval through Mobile Device ( As soon as get ready for approval to concern Release code ). And
To review\see PR worklist ) later on. on mobile device
q1 ) CAN this scenario be mapped through mobile solution like provided by Sybase, sky technologies . or we need to implement SAP Workflows as pre requirement .
q2 ) Is there need of implementing Workflows first, before implementaiton of Duet.
q3 ) we can run Duet functionality ( ( linked with SaP) on mobile.

Hi Thomas,
For duet, you need backend server which won't work with mobile device. So in your case , duet won't be suitable.
And yes, workflow implementation is always a pre-requisite.

SAP workflow -SAP error WL210 -Error triggering default method for object &

Hi Experts,
User is encountered with the error message "Error triggering default method for object &" when he is performing approval action in SES workitem .
Could you please advise me how to avoid this issue.

SAP Workflow not triggering due to "Start Condition return FALSE" message in SWEL

Hi,
I have SES approval workflow which is not triggering in few cases because of check function ends with exception even it has valid start condition and correct data. For example lets say we have PO no. 100 for which 3 SES (SES1,SES2 & SES3) are created. Out of which workflow for SES3 is not triggering even if all the three contain valid start condition(Bases on internal order at PO line item).when triggering workflow manually using SWUE for SES3 it work fine.Please find SWEL screenshot below and let me know if you have come across this type of issue.

kindly use SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT and not SWE_EVENT_CREATE it's always better to use APIs.
Why use 2 sub-objects? you already have a z-object and you can modify it. even if there is a reason for the double sub object , the workflow should still run on the standard one - BUS2091.

As for your question,
if you are using a function module to raise the event, way not check in it if the service entry sheet has been created properly before creating the event. you can even check if the PO contains an internal order in your RFC function module and raise a specific event. then you will have no need for the starting condition.

Rename "BPM and Workflow" forum to "SAP Business Workflow"

G'Day,
99% of posts in the [BPM and Workflow|SAP Business Workflow; forum deal with SAP Business Workflow. It was originally intended for ccBPM which - though they share some underlying architecture - is basically XI / PI.
A few ccBPM posts occasionally appear in the WF forum, but they are generally not answered and more appropriate in XI. These days I usually move them to XI when it's clear that the 'local' population won't answer it.
So to avoid confusion for people I propose to rename the forum to SAP Business Workflow or at least something that doesn't confuse it with XI.
Any input welcome.

If there is little to no traffic for BPM, then let's call the forum what it is, SAP Business Workflow - Or Workflow and Guided Procedures?
Sidebar: I posted a question to various forums a few weeks ago, regarding 'How can SAP, and ASUG WF/BPM serve you better'. I am summarizing the responses I got below, in hopes that it helps guide you in your quest. The names have been excluded to protect the identities, but I think there is some very valuable info in here. Particularly the final point - which I will follow up on with the respondent.

- personally for me, I still find the guided procedure in Portals not so user friendly and limited. I think more education and influence around GP will be great. I think the community will also appreciate it.

- GP and UWL. I think the concept of "IT doing the first time and the business managing their rules" would be challenging. I have not yet seen this happen, especially on the logistics side. There is a session this year on the same topic at TechEd and I look forward to this session. Hopefully it will help us get some insight.
Right now I am struggling with even getting Workflow off the ground and getting the business to understand what Workflow is and trying to have them budget for it. Workflow is still new to the functional group and even getting them to consider Workflow verse alternatives is somewhat of a challenge. I really have had a great consultant that has taken me under his wing and taken the time to teach me. I think we would be a great story for a presentation.
My challenges for the next year, is how to get over the hump of selling workflow to the business and actually getting projects planned out. I don't know if anyone has an anwer to that one. My other challege is how to handle transfer of knowledge and maintaining workflow that has been built by consultants.
1) I have not attended many SAP webcasts (just one on Solution Manager in the past few months) I'm planning on attending one this comming Monday on BPM.
2) I think understanding UWL / SBWP differences, advantages, limitations on one vs the other, would be an important topic.   Also more information on Extended Notiications
3) Challenges: Upgrades and impact on WF, Unicode and WF and having more WF ABAP OO objects delivered by SAP, other than the "Absence Notification" sample.
1.       I havenu2019t personally attended but as a company we give a webinar once a week and weu2019ve had some great attendance
2.       Technically I think weu2019re OK. We see the need to tell C-level execs where workflow / BPM can help them in businessu2026.
_3.       Workflow is becoming more and more obscure in the SAP landscapeu2026

ABAP Workflow

I am working on Adobe Interactive Forms calling from Webdynpro ABAP.
   I developed a webdynpro based interactive adobe form with a table and 2 other fields displayed in the form. It has various buttons to increase the rows dynamically, save as draft, submit changes. I have a requirement for which I need to trigger workflow when user clicks on submit for approval button.
Here is my requirement details briefly.
1) User will click on Submit for approval button of the form, We will need to capture the form data and trigger the workflow
2)Manager and VP both has to get the e-mail and workitem to his outlook and SAP inbox for approval
    (Here Manager Decision is optional approves or not never mind)
3)After VP's decision , an email notification has to send to the submitter with his decision (like approved or rejected)
4)Status field has to be updated in the custom table with approve or reject status.
It will be great help if you can provide some inputs on how to achieve this functionality.

ASAP Methodology:
Project Preparation:
The first step in ASAP is Project Preparation. In this step the Functional Consultant will analyse the business process and define the system for SAP and will give the time line for the project. The Manpower required and the budgets are also considered in this step.
Blue Print Preparation:
This is second step in ASAP Methodology. In this step the Project Preparation scenarios are finalised. A out line of the Project is given in this step.
Realisation:
In this step actual development is taken place. The ABAPer is responsible for this step.
Testing:
In this step the development done by the abaper is being tested. This is the area where the Unit Test Document is prepared (i.e. Positive Testing and Negative Testing).
GO live and Support:
This is the final stage where the project is running in the live environment. In this step the bugs if any that are found in the go live procedure are fixed and the project will be considered as support project.
