Workflow tab disabled in Data Manager

Hi SDNers,
In Data Manager, in record mode the <b>workflow</b> tab is disabled (greyed),
I am logged in as Administrator, tell me if some authority or role settings are to be checked?

Gautam,
The workflow component to install is included with the GUI Clients and named MDMWorkflowInstall_Ver5.5??.exe. You will need to install this on each client PC running the Data Manager which you want the Workflow tab to be active on.
Visio is only needed to create the actual workflows. Only users who will create workflows need Visio. Other users that will only be included in the workflow processes do not need to have Visio if they will not be creating workflows.

i have installed Xcelsius Engage Server 2008, when i try to add connection for SAP Netweaver BI from the Data Manager the dialog appears correctly but in Defination TAB only the Name field is enable both System and Query field is disable.
without that how can i configure the connection please let me know how to fix this issue.

Hi,
You give the name of the connection and then click on "Browse". It will then prompt you to connect to the desired system. Log in and then select the appropriate query you want to build a dashboard on.

Workflow Not displaying in Data Manager once it is launched ...

I am experiencing a strange problem in Data Manager Workflow Tab. I am using MDM 5.5 SP6.
While importing records either Iby using import Manager OR Import server, workflow is triggered and we can see the workflow in the workflow tab with status 'Unlaunched' and once it is launched it is not displaying any other steps and it disappears after completes the workflow. But all the steps in the workflow completed successfully. Workflow tab is empty for Status = ALL.
This was working fine until few days back.
Anyone experience this issue?

Hi,
I think it may be because you are using wrong user to check this.
Try to login into Data manager through Workflow Owner User ID.. it should display All workflow jobs there, even completed ones also. and Status = ALL should work there.
The workflow owner has special privileges and visibility. The owner of a workflow is the only user who can see in its task queue for every instance of every step that is available to or received by every other user. I think, other users will see tasks only if it is step is available for them or in received status.
Check and revert with the result.

Workflows table is not showing up in Data Manager drop down table list

I am able to see Workflows table in Console but not able to see it Data Manager drop down table list in record mode for selection.
Even not allowed to create another workflow table.

Reo,
You will not be able to create another workflow table. There is only a single workflow table that will hold all the workflows you create through the Data Manager.
As Vito mentioned, please make sure to load the corresponding MDMWorkflow component on the client machines running the Data Manager that you wish to create and view workflows from.
Once the workflow component is installed you should see it as a new tab in the Data Manager. You will need Visio to create workflows.

Use of Assignment tab in Data Manager

Hi,
Can someone give me some real time example of using Assignment tab in data manager and what is the need of assignment.
In Data manager guide it's written that : "Instead of retuning boolean value, we can use any data type and we can assign this value to user editable field" ... Can some one explain me with example?
I also want to know "Is it possible to define assigment in Data Manager and on the basis of users i can assign this assigments with the help of workflow?

Assignments provide users a convenient way to fill in fields.
You can set values for a certain field using the "Assignment" workflow step.
Eg: Approval Status
You can set the value for the field "Approval Status" based on certain other fields.
Several assignments for the same field can be defined.
Assignments are selected during runtime to calcualte the field value.
You have to be in Record mode to create Assignments.
Select the table for which you want to define the assignment.
The assignment is later bound to this table which is unchangeable.

Under strategies tab High Threshold, low threshold, Min score and Max score
Under transformation tab preview .

Hi Shalini ,
The Transformations, Rules and Strategies tabs comprise the u201CDesign Timeu201D portion of Matching mode.
The Matches and Merge tabs on the other hand comprise the u201CRuntimeu201D portion of Matching mode.
Workflow Tab supports Matching and Merging Automation.
Terms and there Functions:
1. Normalization: When we remove the Special Characters as well as the Short forms from our data we say that the data is Normalized and this is used in Transformation technique.
2. Token: When we have to reduce the short forms they are known as Tokens.
3. Score : Score actually helps us to define the Result in the following ways:
u2022 Success : If we find the duplicate fields it shows Success
u2022 Failure : If we do not get any Duplicate field we say it is a Failure
u2022 Undefined : If any of the field contains Null Value we say that it is undefined.
There are two types of Scores also:
u2022 Maximum Score
u2022 Minimum Score
Maximum Score and Minimum Score: The read-only Min Score and Max Score properties are calculated automatically by MDM based on the Success scores of ever matching rule included in the strategy, and allow you to set the values of Low Threshold and High Threshold properties to classify the results.
4.Difference between Equals and Token Equals:
u2022 Equals : Exactly matches the data
u2022 Token Equals: Fuzzy Matches are also considered.
5.Threshold: There are two categories of Threshold:
u2022 High: Records whose total score is greater than or equal to the High threshold score are included in the list of potential matches in the Matches tab and placed in the High match level.
u2022 Low: Records whose total score is greater than or equal to the Low Threshold score are included in the list of potential matches in the Matches tab and placed in the Low match level.
The Tabs along with there Functionality:
 Transformation: It basically helps us to normalize the data.
 Rules: This tab is used to define certain rules for our search i.e. what rules needs to be followed to find out the Duplicate values.
 Strategies: Strategies are the collection of Rules, we try various combinations of the rules we have already created and then try to find out the Duplicate Records.
 Matches: In this tab we can see all the entries which are found to be duplicating in our data, here we need to include all those entries which we want to merge, so that we can get cleansed data.
 Merge: Merge on the other hand is use to merge the Duplicate data into one. It has further two parts:
u2022Set: This is used to select the data for a field of your choice among all the duplicate data that has been found.
u2022Concatenate: If we want to concatenate the two data for the same field then we use Concatenate.

Workflow table grayed out in Data Manager

Hi John,
That was my first reaction, too, so I checked this and I was assigned to the 3 standard task profiles.
Because of your input I saw that this was not enough. I have created a new task profile including everything.
So now I can continue. Thx for that!!!
One small thing, though:
I cannot see the tasks in the task folders during the task profile set up.
I can only see the folder and the number of items it contains.
So I don't really know which tasks I'm adding.
I don' believe this is normal, is it?
Can I solve this?
(Possible hint: I am working in a dutch version (don't know if this is relevant))

Dear All,
I have two queries if you can help me out I am not geeting the tab DED Vehicle data
the two tabs vicle ID Measurments and vehicle Technology these two tabs I am getting but not the third one DED Vehilce Data
I have configured same as IDES ,In IDESthey are showing I could not make out where is is loop hole
Please tell me
Secondly On that DSD Vehicle data block timesstart -block time ends ,below the required Drives Licence plate field
How can use this vehicle for booking purpose
Like say truck today booked by X deprt ment from 9 am to 4 pm & say from 4 pm to 8 pm by Y department

Workflow tab is blank on some people's Laptops. NOT User ID dependent.

I am rolling out an MDM project that will have 5-10 users going into Data Manager to add records, change records and others approving changes. We are using Workflow to make this happen but we are running into a problem.
We are on version 7.1.03.65 of Data Manager. I have installed the Data Manager client on their computers u2013 but they canu2019t see anything in the Workflow Tab u2013 even though they should be able to see records based on their permissions. The really odd thing is that it seems to be dependent on what Laptop they are using. I can log into the same IDu2019s on my system and I can see the records.
Has anyone else seen this? I know that in older versions we needed to load in Workflow component separately but I was told that with version 7.1 this was no longer needed. I compared a laptop that worked to one that was not working and I did not see any difference in the files in the directory.
The one way we were able to fix this for a user was to change the Administrator rights on the laptop. If the user had admin rights on the lap top they could see workflow. I know this does not make sense u2013 but it is what we are seeing.
Any ideas are welcomed.

I am aware about this Admin right thing, and it worked for me on same issue.
I would suggest to play with user account control once.
follow the steps :
1. Launch MSCONFIG by from the Run menu.
2. Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Disable UAC" . Click on that line
3. Press the Launch button.
4. A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window.
5. Close MSCONFIG. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply.
You can re-enable UAC by selecting the "Enable UAC" line and then clicking on the Launch button.
Some Window version has the built-in ability to automatically reduce the potential of security breaches in the system. It does that by automatically enabling a feature called User Account Control (or UAC for short). The UAC forces users that are part of the local administrators group to run like they were regular users with no administrative privileges.

SOLUTION! (NO NEED TO RESET YOUR IPHONE SETTING!)
I have the same issue for the last two weeks. But i have already managed to solve the issue all by myself. When i go to Settings > Cellular > below the tab "use cellular data for:", i turned off some apps which i didnt want to use with cellular data. As soon as i go back to Settings, and then i went back to Cellular, the apps which i had switched off earlier, automatically turned back on.
Here's the solution:
Either you're using wifi or cellular data, first of all you're gonna hafto turn on the cellular data use for App Store. Once you have turned it on, go to App Store application. Update ALL the apps which have new updates available. If it asks you to log in your App Store, just do so. If there's something wrong with your debit or credit card information, it will ask you to update to a different card. Just do what it asks. Put in a new credit or debit card info and fill in the forms provided. The card you're using must be usable and has usable balance in it. Let's say atleast $10 to $20. As soon as it confirms your card successfully, the app updates will start automatically. Continue to update all the apps. After all updates are finished, go back to Settings > Cellular. Try to switch on or off some apps for data use and recheck.
Try it yourself! Have a nice day and don't put a blame on Apple for this.

Import button (the exclamation point) is disabled in Import manager toolbar

Hi,
I am working with MDM and loaded catalogue into MDM import manager. I did Mapping fields/Values and table mapping in Import status tab shows "Filed mapped 30 of 30". But the Import button (the exclamation point) is disabled in Import manager toolbar to import this to data manager.

Error while launching visio in Data Manager

Hi All,
I have installed visio 2003 version and working on SP03 5.5.28.17.
The problem I am facing is that I am unable to launch visio through Data manager Client. When I am clicking workflow tab in Data Manager client, it is giving me error as "Error Launching visio - There is no path information for workflow .vsl in registry.
Can anybody suggest what could be the problem.
