Workflow task TS50000075 for MSS PCR

Hi Workflow/MSS experts,
For example, in PCR worklfows we have the Application - ISRFORMAPPROVE. This is a standard Application from SAP. Task
TS50000075 is configured in SWFVISU for this application which helps in getting the workitem to the UWL for the approval.
Now, my requirement is to create a custon workflow and instead of using the standard task TS50000075, I would like to copy task TS50000075 and use it in my workflow to perform exactly the same job as done by TS50000075. I do not want use TS50000075 here so want to make use of the copy of TS50000075.
I would then replace this custom workflow with the standard one in QISRSCENARIO for "Request for separation". So when the scenario is trigerred system should use my workflow and then the copied task to send the workitem to the UWL for the managers approval.
Analysis/Question:
Will copying TS50000075 and using in my customm wokflow help?
Do I need to make another settings after copying task TS50000075?
I have configured the copied task in SWFVISU.
I get the workitem in the UWL of the approving manager. When I try to approve from the managers inbox system launches the R/3 transction to execute the workitem and nothing happens. It should open up the Webdynpro application with the adobe form to approve it.
I have gonethrough the below thread and understand the scenario i am trying is possible:

Generally the problem in using TS50000075 is the subject line which is easily redefinable. Do u have any other problems in using that?
Anyways even copying the task to a custom one and linking it to ISRFORMAPPROVE shud work provided you have properly created all the relevant container elements in the newly copied task (I guess these values are read by the application using SAP_WAPI_READ_CONTAINER internally)

Can u describe more on this error? Are you getting this error once u click on the workitem in UWL? We had a similar kind of error and that was related to some settings in transaction SICF and our basis administrator resolved it.

Adobe for MSS PCR forms with 46C back-end???

Hi all,
A quick question - is it possible to use Adobe document services for PCR forms when the back-end R/3 system is 4.6C? Or do we need to be on Enterprise or ERP?
From what we've seen it appears that the ISR functionality in 46C is not enabled to allow selection of an Adobe form - thus ruling this form option out for 46C PCRs, meaning we'll use JSP forms instead.
Can anyone confirm whether this is the case, and/or provide details of what they have done for PCR forms in 46C?
(we do have a WAS 6.40)

If I am reading this correctly, you just need to install WAS 6.40 with the Adobe Services on it and then cerate an RFC to the 4.6 SAP system. Is this correct?

Unable to modify Adobe Forms for MSS-PCR

Hi All,
I have deployed the MSS BP on EP7.0.
All the functionalities are working fine except the PCR forms. I have made the necessary configurations for ADS and also imported the ReaderRights credentials. I am also able to view the standard forms (transaction:SFP form:ISR_FORM_SPEG etc.) also I can see the forms from EP however, I am not able to make any field changes (eg. Date etc.) in the forms.
Any idea what the reason could be?

Workflow- task binding for an instance method?

Hello,
I have a workflow that is triggered by a document "changed" event. I am doing the following binding:
event container ->workflow container -> task container
and from the task container i am calling an isntance method called M1.
the question is: the event continer has an instance of the object that triggered the event, this instance is then transfered to the workflow container, then i am binding the object instance from the workflow container to the task container to an element called WIOBJECT_ID, the binding is :
&DRAW& "description=DRAW" -> WIOBJECT_ID& "description=document"
so does this binding transer the object instance from the workflow container to the task container, otice that they have different descriptions ?
And does the task container trigger the instance method on the one that was transered in the binding from the &DRAW& variable ?

The description of the object does not matter, as long as they are the same business object type. In the task container the element reffering to the object is always called WIOBJECT_ID.
Just check that you bind the element from the workflow container into the task container, which was filled from the event container in the 1st place.

PCR workflow - HTTP handler for starting an external service cannot be read

We are implementing PCR Approval using adobe forms. Currently when we try to open the adobe form for Approval from the UWL we get the error(it actually displays with an information message symbol) "HTTP handler for starting an external service cannot be read" in an ITS screen. We found an exactly similar problem in the below link but unable to find a resolution from that.

We use the standard task TS50000075 for PCR Approval

I tried the transactions SICF and WF_HANDCUST.
1. In SICF under sap>bc>webflow-->wshandler when i double click on wshandler it shows that the service is active. But when i right click on the same and try to TEST it, i get an error

I am not sure what this error means.
The configurations available in this service are as follows,
ICF path --> /default_host/sap/bc/webflow/
ICF Object --> wshandler
Decription --> English
Logon Procedure --> Standard
Security Requirements --> Standard
Basic Authentication --> Standard R/3 user
Anonymous logon data
client --> <empty>
user --> empty
password --> <empty-stillinitial>

I am not clear what id and password should be maintained here. Can you please help us on this.
2. When i try to generate the URL in WF_HANDCUST and test them i get a success message.

MSS Approval Report Links to Busines Workflow Task in UWL

Hello All,
I have a scenario below that I'm hoping you can help.
I copied the standard business workflow task "TS31000007: CATS Approval by Supervisor" to create our own task (general task) and link the 'CatManagerApprove' application and 'sap.com/msscatapproval' package to this task in the Workflow Visualization Configuration.
We then assigned this new task to the time data entry profile for the portal. Once, employee released the working time, the task is created and send to the Universal Worklist.
The manager can then access the UWL and open this approve time workflow task. This task is open to the MSS Approval Report (similar to what appear under the MSS > Tasks > Approve Time by Manager).
However, I have copied the Approve Time by Manager to our own and changed some of the order of the column and header text and assigned to the MSS role.
I would like to have this CATS approval task open to the same approval report view/layout as in the MSS Approval Report.
I've tried to change the layout (column order) through portal contents of the standard MSS Approval Report because I thought it was reading from there, but it's not.
Does anyone know how this can be done or where to point to the MSS Approval Report on the portal.
Any help would be appreciated!

We were able to use the launch iview task to launch our specific iview but I cannot seem to get it to recognize the workitem. In other words, when I click on the task in the UWL, my approve working time iview appears but it does not have the data that is from the workflow task item. Attached is the XML code that I used:

TS93000001 is our task. approve_ts_data is our iview. It opens in a new window correctly and goes to the correct iview, just is not the actual task data.

Starting a workflow for a PCR form

We installed the MSS business package. I would like to know how to start a workflow for a PCR form (example: Request for Promotion). The workflow just needs to be simple one step approval from manager.
What configs are needed in SPRO or elsewhere?

You can use transaction QISRSCENARIO for that and the IMG path is below -->
Cross Application Components>Internet/Intranet Services>Internal serive request--> Define Scenarios.
Now Select the scenario and then click the display button.If you are using JSP in frontend then click the additonal data for scenario. Here you will find the WF.
Or you can call the WF in your custom program also.

MSS PCR Notification/Workflow

Hi,
We have been trying to use the MSS PCR for Separation. We are able to successfully submit the PCR however, there are no workflows triggered.
Appreciate if you can advise on how to setup to trigger workflow. Alternatively, appreciate advise on how to know where the notifications are sent.

PCR Workflow can be activated using the Tcode PCRWF. You can know the status of the workflow by checking the workflow overview for the Notification using Tcode IQS22.

Error while querying workflow message attributes for task

Can some one please help me with this error?
I get this error when I submit a task in worklist app. I have figure out that it is causing due to one payload in the table in the task. If remove that payload I am able to submit the task.

Related Item link is broken in DispForm.aspx for a task in Workflow Tasks list if file name contains " ' " (single quote)

Description:
We have created a custom workflow in Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 and SharePoint 2013. This Workflow is associated with a Document library.
This Workflow starts as soon as any new item is created OR updated in Document library and creates a Task in Workflow Tasks list.
Related Item link is not working in following scenario -
Upload a file that contains “ ' “
in its name, in a document library
Navigate to Workflow Tasks list
Open View Item form (DispForm.aspx ) of Task Created by workflow then click on link in Related Item fields
OUPUT:
Related Item link truncates after “ ' “
Eg.
Original Link: http://<Site URL>/Documents/te'st.txt
Related Item Field: http://<Site URL>/Documents/te

As I tested per your description, I can reproduce the issue as well.
From what I have found out, it seems SharePoint resolve single quote into different code in different place. During the test, if I set Task Name to Document Name, single quote will be resolved to ' , if I set some field to Document encoded URL, single
quote will be resolved to %27 . For now, I haven't found out any article talking about this issue.
As workaround, we may find out a way to change the Related Item field. However, it is OOB field in workflow task (SharePoint 2013) content type, and this content type cannot be modified in form.
I'd suggest you add new column to get document url and place in the form in Task content type settings.

Why do I not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task?

We are trying to use workflows to review and edit pdf files in sharepoint 2010. We are having a couple of issues and am hoping someone has the answer.....
1) When myself and coworkers click on the pdf document in the library, we get the check out option as expected. However when we click on the document
link in a workflow task (on the sharepoint site), the pdf opens as a temporary file and we do not get the check out option. Why does this happen?????
2) The same thing happens when we click on the document link in the workflow task email; HOWEVER, one of our co-workers does get the
check out option when clicking on the link in the email task. Why would she get the checkout option using the email and not when clicking on the link in the task list on the sharepoint site ???? We have compared our internet settings and adobe
settings to ours and found no differences.
We are using Sharepoint 2010, Windows 7, IE8, Adobe Reader X or XI. Some of us have Adobe Pro X and have the same issues.

According to your post, my understanding is that you could not get the checkout option for a pdf type document when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task.
I try to reproduce the issue, however, no matter when I click the pdf type document in the library or click on the pdf document link in the workflow task email, it download the pdf doucment and then I can open it.
It will be better if you can descript how you
get the check out option as expected when you click on the pdf document in the library.
Then I upload a
word type document to the library, no matter when I click the word type document in the library or click on the word document link in the workflow task email, I can open the word document directly and get the check out option as expected.
I recommend to use the other type docuemts to check whether the check out option works.

How to use Start Task Group for Workflow Interface

anyone who can tell me how to use the Interface IFWFTSKGRP (Start Task Group for Workflow Interface)?
As far as I understood the documentation it can be used to restrict the selection of workflows that can be started in the Generic Object Services. But the question is how to implement it.

(probably it's a bit too late to post an answer after 3 years , but I'll post it in case someone else needs it)
You should implement GetTaskGroup method.
The code should return id of the task group (otype TG, mantained in PFTC) that holds the list of workflow definitions.
Here is a sample implementation. It's taken from FORMABSENC business object. It belongs to SAP demo workflow "Notification of Absence". I suppose it should be present in most systems and you can see it in action.
begin_method gettaskgroup changing container.
DATA: taskgroup LIKE rhobjects-object.
*- set task group
taskgroup = 'TG70000023'.
*- set result
swc_set_element container result taskgroup.
end_method.

MessageBox on Adobe Form in SAP MSS PCR for SAP ECC 5.0

Hello,
I have a question regarding the behavior of Adobe form messagebox in SAP HR MSS PCR (Personal Change Request)
I tried to test how the messagebox looks like, and so I created a PCR scenario with an Adobe form. This form contains a datetime field. I added the script "xfd.host.messageBox("this is message", "this is title") to the "exit" event of the datetime field. Then I did all the necessary steps so that this PCR is displayed in the Portal.
Now at the runtime, when I select a date value from the datetime field, the messagebox is displayed, BUT within an empty Adobe Reader page. It is not displayed on the top of my adobe form.
But the strange thing is that when I use tab key to navigate through the datetime field, the messagebox is displayed on the top of my adobe form, without the empty Adobe Reader page.
I also tried my script with several different event types, including "Change", and "Validate", it behaves the same way. But when I tried it with the event type "MouseExit", no empty Adobe reader page is shown up at all (of course, this is not the right event type for me)
The environment is SAP ECC 5.0, SAP MSS business package for ECC 5.0, SAP Portal 7.0 (NW 2004s), Adobe LiveCycle 7.1, and Adobe Reader 8.1.1
Has anyone experienced this? I'd really appreciate any comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance.
