Workflow to be triggered if Inbound Idoc is successful

Hi,
Kindly help me out with the following senario:
After the vendors are created in MDM, they are distributed to an R/3 (ECC 5.0) system via XI. XI uses  the message type CREMAS to distribute the vendors. When the inbound Idoc is successsful, a workflow should be triggered to the concerned user about the vendors created in the R/3 system.
How can we find out which event gets triggered when the Idocs were successful such that we can trigger a custom/standard workflow??
Thanks in advance
Regards
Kishan

This report might help you
RSEIDOCM
Otherwise maybe in ALE customising you could create an event in a user program and use FM SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW to launch your workflow.
You will have the IDOC message types coming in and the process codes which are executed so you should be able to monitor the process and take whatever action you need during the process..
(Customising -- use transaction SALE)

I see DELV as both outbound and inbound process codes, but then i am not able to understnad why shpord message type is getting processed.I have not done the distribution model as the receiving system is customer.

  • How to change field values AFTER Inbound IDOC Posted successfully

    Hi SAP Experts,
In my project I receive the inbound IDOC PORDCR05 from PI and posted as an Purchase Order in ECC.
I create the Z process code and Z function module (which is a copy version of IDOC_INPUT_PORDCR) and complete all the necessary configuration steps. It works perfectly.
My problem is: I have to  collect some inbound idocs (that satisfied some criteria) and change the value of field EKPO-TXJCD and EKKN-KOSTL of the PO AFTER  it posted successfully (means the purchase order is created and save in database).
How can I do this? I've try to put the logic code in Z function module, but it does not work, since at that time, the Inbound IDOC is not updated to the database yet.
    Aprreciate your advise.
    Regards,
    Elaine.

    Hi Elaine ,
as per your cretiria pick the idocs and take created PO# from status 53 & use the BAPI (BAPI_PO_CHANGE) to change the neccessary values in the PO. We can't reprocess those idocs again.

  • How workflow will be triggered from the Idoc partner profiles

    Hi,
We have scenario like, We are doing business with the same vendor in different countries. When ever we receive the Idoc from that vendor, Agent will be notified based on the agent details, which is mentioned in the Inbound partner profiles for that vendor. Now they like to enhance the scenario like different agents should be notified for different countries, based on the company code from the same vendor. I came to know that its possible through workflow, can you please let me know the step by step procedure to achieve this scenario. Since this is very important issue, need your help as soon as possible.
    Thanks
    Satyasuresh

    Hi,
In Tx. WE42, Select the process code for the corresponding partner and bind your workflow / task inplace of the function module with the process code. Now, this will enable the idoc to get placed in the agents(identified by that workflow)inbox.
But to design the workflow, you`ll have to use tx. swdd and prior to that get some basic understanding of Business Workflow from SAP Library.
Hope the info. is helpful and reward points if so.

  • Inbound idoc processing using custom FM to cancel sales orders

    hello all,
I have a scenario where i need to create a customized function module which is assigned to custom message type. and this function module is triggered when inbound idoc comes, which will process idoc data for cancellation of sales orders. If an errror occurs than the error during cancellation has to be reflected back in the idoc status.
can anyone tell me how exactly i can log the status and reflect it back, how exactly can i do this
And what are all the objects i need to create to succusfully execute  this scenario, i have created message type, function module, i am using orders05 do i need to create process code also.
    Thanks,
    krishnam raju.

    Hi Krishna,
Hope you are done with the Inbound function module creation. But, just creation of function module would not be enough, what u said that is like creation of Process code should also be done.
WE42 is the transaction code for inbound process code.
And while creation of the process code, we need to do few things like:
We need to create an entry of the inbound function module in BD51 transaction or so. And coming to updating of the status, open any of the inbound function module, you will observe that there is a standard subroutine which will update the IDOC_STATUS record. You can implement the same logic whenever you want to update an error message.
    Thanks,

You can maintain two different address for the business agreements (can be treated as mailing address for the printed invoice)but you can not maintain more than one standard address for BP as any given time.

  • Custom inbound Idoc error handling/ Workflow

    Dear Experts,
I have a requirement where in I created a custom inbound idoc, but now i need to handle the errors in the workflow and notify the users thru workflow on an error.
Can some one please provide me a step by step guide on how to create a organizational unit, position and assign users to the position... and any other steps that need to be configured to notify the user on the error.
I'm pretty new to all these organizational uints and workflow related stuff. Any step by step would really be helpful.

    Vittal,
    1. If your requirement is for a SAP Standard Basic Message type and a Z extension: Then you simply have to find out the 'Standard Task' associated with basic type. You shouldn't worry about extensions. The standard task will be triggered at input error.
    2. If your requirement is for a Z basic type i.e. you have created a customer IDOC for a custom processing: There are many dependencies on how you can achieve this. Firstly, you need to know how you're are processing this Z_IDOC. Are you using a standard FM or custom workflow or custom FM? There should be some triggering event within the processing of this Z_IDOC which will raise a certain flag when the error you want to capture happens (or when there is a generic error). You can configure this event in binding objects to trigger a workflow task. If you take a look at any standard tasks, you'll get an idea how the triggering event happens.
Once the workflow task (you can use custom task or use a standard task i.e. by triggering a standard event within the IDOC processing program) is triggered, you can either send it to SAP inbox, e-mail, trigger another processing etc. This is altogether another story.
So bottomline: For custom IDOC processing, you need to trigger an event when error happens. This can be a custom event or a standard event. This event should be linked to a task (custom/standard - check in SWETYPV). Bind all of these in PFTC. Once the task is triggered, you can do whatever you want to do with it.

  • Triggering a mail when ever a perticular inbound IDOC fails

    Hi Experts,
Is there any way I can trigger mails whenevr an inbound idoc fails to update in r3.With reference to workflow etc
    Regards,
    Arnab

    hi,
i think u need to check tcode swu3 for automatic workflow customizing and check in we40 (error AND STATUS PROCESSING) whether the processing code is assigned to the workflow task.
if it is assigned, the workflow will be automatically triggered and the mail will be sent to the user by itself.
ALE error handling uses workflow. A standard task is provided for each message type. Task TS20000051 is used for all BAPIs.
    Workflow functions as follows:
A task (work item) is generated for the error handling and stored as a message in the inboxes of the employees responsible.
If one of these employees processes the work item, the standard task method for error handling is started. The user can, for example, restart IDoc processing.
If the IDoc is processed successfully, the work item is deleted from the inboxes of all the employees involved.
For this procedure to function, the employees responsible for a particular message type and partner (sender or receiver) must be defined as follows:
    1. A hierarchy of organizational units (for example, "sales office") and positions (for example, "customer officer for customer X") is created and employees are assigned to it.
    2. The standard tasks for error handling (for example, an error related to an inbound sales order) are assigned to the relevant organizational units or positions (for example, "sales office").
    3. The organizational unit, position or employee responsible for dealing with the error are specified for each partner and message type in the partner profiles.
If an error occurs, the system determines:
    1. The employees responsible using the staffing schedule of the organizational unit or position linked to the standard task.
    2. The employees defined in the partner profiles (using position, user ID, or organizational unit).
    3. The employees appearing in both groups represent those who will receive a work item in their inboxes.

    Hi Krishna,
First we have to find out if the error comes from processing in the application or from one of the checks performed before the application is called.
Go to function module IDOC_INPUT_OPDERS and put a breakpoint on "PERFORM edi_mode_to_mem.". Then reprocess the Idoc and when the program stops at your breakpoint set INPUT_METHOD to 'A'. In this way your order will be processed online (using BDC and you can find the error).
If the program doesn't stop at your breakpoint the error comes from one of the checks before.
But please try this first and come back if this doesn't solve your problem.
    Kind regards,
    John.

  • Workflow for inbound idoc failures

    Hi Gurus,
Can anybody please point me to a place where i can start to see how i can setup workflow to notify users via SBWP whenver there is an inbound idoc error happens. We want to derive the standard functionality to its fullest even before thinking of putting any custom code. I'm specifically looking for hte order acknowledgemetns and shiipping notifications errors of idocs coming from the vendor

Edited by: anusha vemulapati on Jul 2, 2011 4:43 PM

    Hi Anusha,
The simplest way is to link the partner profile to a specific user ID. This is done in trs WE20 - you have the link to the WF recipient both generally for the partner (on the initial screen of WE20 when the partner has been selected) and specifically for the different message types - double-click on the inbound message type and choose the tab "Post processing - permitted agent".
You link the partner profile to a specific user by choosing the user type = "US" (user") and then specifying the user name below it. If you want several users to receive the same WF, you can link the partner profile to another user type, e.g. O = Organisational unit. Then you link the users to the organisational unit in trs PPOME.
As far as I remember, the WF for IDoc's in error is activated in the standard system, i.e. the setting above shall be sufficient.

  • Workflow configuration for inbound IDOC

    Hi,
i have designed a workflow for handling the errored idoc's.
workflow is triggering fine when i reprocess the idocs through the WE19.
but it is not triggering online...means  the event inputerroroccured is not triggering whenever an idoc comes to sap system with error.
I searched the forum a  lot to get the answer . i got the answer to to do the config in WE42 .and i went through aravind nagapal book to solve this. But i didn't get exact answer .
Please can any one help me in getting the solution to this problem.
    regards
    paveee.

    Hi Praveen,
you try to start the workflow via event inputerroroccured.
You state that the event is triggered if you create a new IDOC via WE19.
    - Have you switched on SWELS to be able to check it in SWEL?
    - Have you check there is an event in TBD52 for your object?
    - Runs your IDOc in immediate or background?
Ideally, for a processes code, whenever the idoc processing runs into error, the event specified in the transaction we42 (table tbd52) is raised. Can you please place a breakpoint in function module idoc_input_s1quotes_sd at statement
"IF i_edids IS INITIAL.". Thereafter reprocess the idoc for which the
event was not raised, and check if the workflow result is set to '99999'
when processing exits this function module. Please let me know what the
result of the above test is.
    Regards
    Tibor
