Workflow Validation - Need Help

I'm fairly new to video editing. Everything below I figured out through trial and error until I found a sequence that seems to work well. I just want to know if it's the best I can make it. Storage space is a non-issue. I have no intention of burning to DVD. I'm not interested in sound settings right now. All of the videos sound good enough. I'll mess with that once I've got this workflow tweaked.
I want the following three files at the end of my projects.
1) HD Quality MP4 files that I can play on a PC or PS3. I chose MP4 because that's the only format so far that I've found that the PS3 plays. I'm open for recommendations. These should always be deinterlaced.
2) Good Quality MP4 files that I can post on my webserver for relatives to download and watch.
3) The best master copy I can get from FCE for future edits. Is this a good idea?

Camcorder: HG10 1920x1440 60i (Most of my filming is of kids running around. Open for discussion on 24p?) I've been archiving M2TS files from this camcorder for a year. I do not have the original file structure for my archived footage, just the M2TS files. In the future I can import direct to FCE (Tested it and it works fine), but I like the idea of having my source M2TS files with 5.1 sound in-tact.

OK, I'll bite. I don't understand the point of Step 1 - Use Toast to convert from .M2TS to .MOV.
I could certainly be missing something, but M2TS and MOV are container formats. So you are really doing two things: converting the video/audio from AVC/AAC in an M2TS container to something FCE can edit, namely AIC in an MOV container. I don't understand this step. FCE's log and transfer does this exact same thing (convert AVCHD to AIC), except without the external software. So, why use Toast if FCE already does this? You can also add metadata to the clips as they are imported so you can make heads or tails of them later.
I'm still learning too. So I hope this reads as a question

If I'm using database users as my workflow users, can I send them e-mail notifications? The view wf_user populates the e-mail column with contents of the column username from dba_users -- so clearly this column will never contain a valid e-mail address (unless there are varying versions of this view and I have the wrong one installed for my purposes).
And can anyone point me to the relevant documentation on this. I've gone through the Admin Guide and the Developers Guide.

Workflow users (need help)

dear all,
i have the following case
- when i create a dba user i am able to logon to workflow home page and my worklist ....etc, and i can see the user in the wf_users view but i am not able to update the record on the view like the email. so what i did is that i inserted a record for a user in the wf_local_user but when i try to logon using the user name i cant login becuse it needs password, so what are steps requred to add users that works to the wf_local_tables.

Date validation- need help

Hi, I am trying to validate my date input from the front end which has to be in mm/dd/yyyy format only...I am unsing the code as shown below

Need help with a workflow that will restrict resize to 720x540

I need help constructing a workflow that will resize any image I choose to 720x540. I want this to be restrictive to this size, in other words I don't want 720x468 or etc. I have tried this too many times, will no success so now I am reaching out for help. HELP. Once I have correct resized an image as needed I want to change its format and save a copy.

Need your help in customizing APINVAPR workflow.
Please help in clarifying below point.
How APINVAPR is mapped to invoice approval process,for PO we use document type form to map the POAPPRV workflows when we customize we will map the custom workflow XXXPOAPPRV to make our workflow work.
Similarly how will we customize APINVAPR and map the workflow, pls let me know your thoughts.
My requirement is to customize the APINVAPR workflow and increase the escalation days, during the Invoice Approval Process/Escalate Document Approval activity escalation will happen in 5 days, i need to increase it by 60 days.
If anyone have worked in similar requirement, please help.

I need to delete workflows that need to be retired. I am veryvery new to workflows. So, what is the Tcode to delete the entire workflow? also, what are the steps that need to be check upon deleting them? i need to delete their custom tables/function modules as well. Hi,
Prior to deleting a workflow first Delete/Cancel all the workitems of that workflow. It will help you to avoid unnecessary dump while executing those workitems. Its better to cancel the workitems if it is a productive system.
To delete workflow delete the following items in below mentioned order.
1. Workflow
2. Tasks
3. BO/Classes

I need help with validating signatures.

I have Adobe Acrobat X and Reader 9 and need help with how to validate signatures.
I have a document that I am emailing to all employees that require the signature; but, when the form is emailed back, it states that the signatures requires validating.

Or, is the validation something I do once the form is emailed back to me?
I guess a subquestion would be, how to establish/manage trusted certificates with reader or acrobat 8.

You'll need to get javascript date from LCD field, and calculate & compare with the future date in javascript date.

Donor System Processing Narrative:
Read the maturity dates on investments.
Target System Processing Narrative:
Send a notice to the parties that an investment will be maturing soon.
2) Description:
Implement workflow to route invoice receipts using a one time vendor for management
review and posting
Desired Functionality:
If a one time vendor is entered by the AP Voucher Clerk the invoice will be automatically
parked by the program and a workflow notification triggered to the Accounting
Supervisor and Accounting Manager (backup). The Accounting Supervisor will review
the parked document and imaged copy of the actual invoice and post the parked

3) Description:
An approval workflow is needed for credit memos posted to SAP customer accounts.

You can borrow the example code that ships with both NI-DAQ (in case you are doing NI-DAQ function calls) and Labview. The best examples to start with are the ones that have the prefix STC.

Need Help Determining Least Common Demoninator for Frame Rate, Codec, and Workflow

I need help determining the best timeline setting and Compressor workflow to integrate footage with varying frame rates and codecs that I'm currently upres'ing for a multi-camera concert performance destined for HD broadcast output. I'm assuming the network needs 29.97.
Thus far, I've been working with Apple ProRes Proxy files to create lo-res edits. Now, I've started the task of offlining and ingesting new, HD clips from the proxy references. The content originates from either Panasonic HVX200 or Panasonic GH1 cameras.
Looking at the material, it appears the cameras were not shooting with the same settings and, somehow, a PAL GH1 got into the mix. Some of the performances have the PAL GH1 and other do not.
Here's the breakdown of the varying sources. I got this info from the Log & Transfer columns.
HVX Cameras
Format: 1080p24
Source Format: DVCPRO HD 1080i60
Shooting Rate: 24
Vid Rate: 29.97
TC Format: Non-Drop
GH1 NTSC
Format: 1080i60
Source Format: AVCHD 1080i60
Shooting Rate: 30
Video Rate: 29.97
TC Format: Drop
GH1 PAL
Format: 1080i50
Source Format: AVCHD 1080i50
Shooting Rate: 25
Video Rate: 25
TC Format: Non-Drop
ANOTHER GH1 NTSC
Format: 1080p24
Source Format: AVCHD 1080p24
Shooting Rate: 24
Video Rate: 23.98
TC Format: Non-Drop

Call the TV station/network and get their spec sheet first. You need to know more than frame rate.
Once you have that, you can work backwards to arrive at a workflow.
As a general priniciple, you'll get a more seamless translation of format when you add frames rather than removing them. (eg 24p to 27.97 rather than 29.97 to 24p)
At least all the material starts out in the 1080 world.
Do all your conversions before you start editing. (I'd use ProRes or ProRes LT for the editing codec).
Budget a bunch of time to sync the material or figure out a quick cutting style that minimizes sync drift.
