Workgroup Management stops working when internet connection is down

Our 10.5.8 XServe works perfectly fine as long as the office internet connection is working. As soon as the connection drops for more than a couple of minutes the server connection speed drops to a crawl and drops user connections. Also Workgroup Manager cant be used and the icons become inactive. As soon as the connection is back online everything works fine. We built another boot disk on a tower and it also does the same.
We've tried running DNS on the server and also using a basic DNS setup in the network settings nothing seems to fix the problem. A simple test is to run WGM with/without an internet connection (quit after each attempt) and try to add/edit users.
What are we doing wrong?

    i do not sync my iphone with the pc (i only do this to charge the phone) syncing is done with the library at home on the mac
    any ideas on how to fix? talked to tech support and they could not solve

    When syncing, check the Movies/TV Shows Tab in the iPhone menu, and make sure ALL movies are synced (or select the ones you want to sync)

    I used to use PDF Suite 2014 Standard to view pdf files.
    However, tonight a message appeared when I attempted to open files saying ..."if the document does not load then the pdf viewer may not be able to display this type of document"
    I went to the website provided to download Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
    Although I was able to load pdf documents and fill in forms, the program repeatedly would crash whenever I attempted to click on scroll down options on forms.
    Any help is appreciated
    ....and talk/write slowly for I am not super computer literate.

     Dear Aedesh, Thank you for your assistance.  I did all that you instructed below, regarding uninstalling, and using the Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool.  I restarted my computer, then installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (for Windows 7, English and version: Reader DC 2015). I continue to have the problems: (1) When I attempt to use a scroll down option within a pdf form, the program stops working. (2) If I send the pdf to my iPhone, and I open the pdf, I receive the message "Please wait...if the message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your pdf viewer may not be able to display this type of document..." However, when I send pdf's created earlier than 4-28-15, I am able to open in my iPhone.I am able to open on my laptop the pdf's created after 4-28-15, but have the scroll option issue  (thank you in advance for your patience)Luisa

It was jailbroken and working alright.But I was not able to upgrade its IOS frrom 4.0.1 to higher versions and many applicatopns were not compatible with this version of the IOS. So I decided to do a factory unlocking. From an website, based in Mumbai, I unlocked it. When I check now in different websites from my IMEI number, my iphone is unlocked. So I became happy that I can now upgrade my iphone. But the events turned to be different.When I connected to iTunes, iTunes stopped working and my iphone did not appear in the iTunes. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes after cleaning previous registry of all relatedd components like Quicktime, Bejour,Apple software updates and mobile softwares. I also used msconfig to troubleshoot conflicts in software of Windows 7 ultimate but still my iTunes is not working, when I connect the iphone. If I do not connect the iphone, iTunes is working alright. Can any friend give me some advice how to proceed. I do not like comments like Jailbreaking is illegal and should not have been done.     I've downloaded Desktop Manager 6.1 but when I attach my Bold 9780 and it starts to initialise the connection I get a dialogue box up saying "The destop manager has stopped working". Windows looks for a solution but can't find one. Following some suggestions on this forum, I saved the software and unzipped it manually but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions.

  • My laptop install of Creative Cloud stops working when Internet drops

    how do I use this product without the Internet connectivity? I am about to spend two weeks in the middle of nowhere with no Internet connection and I need to be able to edit my photos and videos and need Creative Suite to actually work instead of prompting me to log in and not allow any of the tools to work. I need this thing to function properly without the Internet...ideas?

    I received an email earlier, asking me to reinstall the application manager. I thought it was from support but apparently it was sent to many users. After that discussion and the reinstallation, I signed back in again with the reinstalled application manager. Jeff told me that he sees in the logs that I logged in again last night May 13th, 2013.
    1)  I am online now. I will reboot and see if the error returns. After I had logged in last night, the CC tools acted differently, like they did when I first installed them.
    2)  The message I received from the system was either a "disconnected from the Internet" or a request to log in with my Adobe user/email and password.
    3) I am going to be offline for approximately 7, maybe 8 days. I'll be on a cruise ship in the middle of the caribbean and there is limited connectivity at .55 cents per minute so I'll only get online when absolutely necessary. And connections from the ship are closer to dial-up speeds than the broadband I am accustomed to here at home and at work.

    I have a 120GB ipod and have had a few problems with it but just minor things that have been easy to take care of. But this afternoon, I woke my computer up from sleep mode and I had my itunes working and all was well but then when I went to connect my ipod, I got a notification from my computer saying that my itunes stopped working, it checked for a solution and didn't find one and then it closed out my itunes. I tried opening it again but the exact same thing happened within seconds of pressing the button to open itunes, my ipod hadn't even come up yet in the left hand bar. I uninstalled my itunes and reinstalled it but the same thing keeps happening. If my ipod isn't connected to my computer then my itunes works just fine but the second it connects, my itunes doesn't work anymore, please help me

  • Acrobat 8.1.2 Stops Working When Opening a Drop-Down Dialog Box

    Whenever I try to open a drop-down dialog box in Acrobat the application stops working and Vista requests that the application be closed and that I will be notified of a solution when one is available. I've experienced the problem for six months. I must now solve this problem.
    I've already tried repairing the Acrobat installation without any improvement. What should I do next?

    Thanks, seems to solve some of the problem, perhaps I need to uncheck more in this dialogue box...  May be 'a' correct answer but not the complete solution.  Anyway if all I need to do is uncheck a choice in a dialogue box then it must be a bug or driver incompatability as there seems to be no reason why I shouldn't be able to use 2D graphics acceleration.
    Works if you highlight several PDFs in File Manager and then right click and 'Open with Adobe Acrobat', the error still occurs if I drag these files into an open instance of Acrobat beyond two files.  Also seems to be more of a problem if one of the files is a 'colour document ' or 'greyscale document' scanned by Acrobat itself.

    Hi，
    So switch a LAN card fix this issue...seems a compatibility issue or maybe some packs or programs you installed recently cause this issue.
    Have you manually check the network adapter driver from the PC's manufacture website? sometimes, it will be a time delay before Microsoft push out the driver update.
    Check if issue exists in safemode with network, this mode will launch Windows with limited sets of files and drivers. 
    if you have a restore point, restore the pc to a previous point at which the pc is functioning fine.

    Since about 2 weeks ago for no apparent reason, the internet on my iPad suddenly stopped working (when I open Safari, it says: "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet"), even though the Wifi icon in the top left corner still shows full signal. However, I noticed when I went into Wifi settings (Settings>Wifi) that there is no checkmark next to my network name (only the spinning circle icon, as if it's trying to process something). This only happens at home (I can browse the internet while connected to  Wifi at university). My other Apple devices (MacBook Pro and iPhone 4S) work perfectly fine at home.
    I've tried resetting my router, restarting my iPad, resetting Network Settings on my iPad, and tried following Hynes' instructions on this thread:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2453187?start=15&tstart=0, but nothing has worked so far (although I have to admit that I found the instructions on that thread somewhat confusing, so there is a chance that I accidentally did not follow them properly).
    Could someone please help? It'd be VERY much appreciated.
