IN Jdev 10g, you could open ,ultiple tables at once within a single DB connection. Recently downloaded 11g and whenever I click to view a new table (data, layout, etc) it replaces the current table I was working with with the newly slected table. Is there a way to make them line up next to each other in the work space rather than replacing the open table?

Thanks. That also helped me find the option to do this automatically. It is under the following:

Although I have a high rated Nvidia card that did handle the software for some time after a hack, I believe a Windows update may have altered my Premiere Pro CS6 settings.

Can you WIRELESSLY connect a macbook pro to a monitor to have extra work space on a separate screen from your macbook? (not mirror, extra monitor/workspace)
    It needs to be wireless.
I am not asking about mirroring, but as a second screen.
Apple tv communties said the Apple tv cannot do this, but maybe another type device can?

My thunderbolt port stopped working on my late 2011 MacBook Pro rendering my external monitor useless--or so I thought.
Mac Genius suggested using the Apple TV via AirPlay Display as a $100 solution. Took me all of 6 minutes to figure this out as there are no directions in the Apple TV box supporting this. But, it does work and I am now back in business.
PS. Don't set up with bluetooth--seems logical but you want to use AirPlay Display under Settings > Displays.
Also, I originally thought my external monitor stopped working because I upgraded the OS. This time, it was definitely a hardware issue and not software. It also fixed a known sound issue my monitor had with Macs. First time in my 15 years I've ever had a ViewSonic have issues with an Apple product, too. Thanfully, it is now fixed.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get the RGB Working Space from within a Filter Plug-In?

Within my Filter Plug-In I need to access the image's icc profile data. I know this can be accomplished with the according data structure 'iCCprofileData'. But what if there is no profile assigned to the image? Then iCCprofileData is NULL and the default should apply which is the 'RGB Working Space' (assuming the Plug-In works in RGB mode only, what it does). But how can I get to know what the 'RGB Working Space' is from within my Plug-In?

As far as I know, the profile provided to the plugin API should never be NULL. If the image is not color managed, it still should have the working space profile in the ICCProfileData field.

  • When I attempt to open iphoto, I get the loading icon in the working space/picture area.  If I try to reinstall ilife '11, will I lose any pictures?  Where, on the hard drive, are all my pictures actually stored?

You won't lose anything because you have a back up, right?
    Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Working space settings for Grayscale?

(Preliminary remark: I'm using the German version of PS, so some items may be called differently in the English version.)
In the colour settings of PS CS4 I can define a working space for gray scale pictures. What does this setting actually do?
I know that there is no ICC colour management for grayscale pictures, so what do the dot gain settings do? Do they just darken the display or is there more? What do the gamma settings do? What does "Black&White mean? What does sGray mean? Does Photoshop somehow add ICC profiles to grayscale pictures? If yes, which and what does it do?
So far I decided to just set "no adjustment". The reasoning is that this should display the true greyscale values on the screen. I then can add dot gain as needed manually as a final step. Does this make sense or am I misunderstanding something?
Bonus question: What about the spot colour settings? Are they applied to multichannel pictures?

    p_d_f wrote:
Yes, there really are Grayscale ICC profiles...
Thank you. After contemplating a bit, I think I've finally understood where my confusion originated. But the more I understand, the more new questions arise.
So far I've understood that if a picture is to be displayed on an internet site or used in an office application, then I best work with the gamma 2.2 profile. If the target computer honours ICC profiles, then it desn't matter anyway which profile I use, but if the target computer ignores ICC profiles, then most computers out there will display the picture with a gamma of 2.2 (more or less) because this tends to be the default setting on most computers.
But when it comes to pictures for print, some questions remain.
To begin with, I could continue to work as I did without colour management. I would first "convert" the picture to the profile "no corrections". This would mean that "the numbers" in the picture are the same as the gray values the final user should see. And then I would account for dot gain by either applying a gradation curve or by saving as EPS with a transfer curve.
However if I want to use colour management, then I "convert" the picture to the the printer's ICC profile. Without a specialized program, I cannot create such a profile myself, even if I know the transfer curve. So either I find a suitable profile somewhere or the print shop must provide me that profile.
So far I think I understand. But now the questions.
Concerning missing profiles: Can I just take the gray channel of a suitable CMYK profile (e.g. ISO Coated v2) or would this contain some sort of black generation information which would spoil a grayscale picture?
I assume that it's possible to embed the black and white point into the profile, so that I don't have to worry about them anymore but can assign the full range of gray values from 0% to 100%. With the colour sync tool, I looked into the grayscale profiles that come with Photoshop, and as far as I can tell, none of them does set the black and white point. So I assume that despite using colour management, I have to do this by hand in the picture itself by assigning appropriate grayscale values?
If I find a profile which does set the black and white point, then I assume that this is done lossless when I set the intent to "photographic", but when I set the intent to "colorimetrc", then the shadows and lights are just clipped (which jeopardizes the idea)?
I see that the profiles contain a intent. I assume that this embedded intent will be overridden by the colour setting in photoshop?
What does the option "blackpoint compensation" (or similiar, I use the German photoshop) do with grayscale images? Does it alter the black point, so I should turn the potion off off when I set it by hand? Is there some documentation what this option *exactly* does?
The colour settings in Photoshop offers "dot gain xx%" settings, but I didn't find such profiles. Do I assume correctly that those are "internal" profiles of photohop? Are they documented somewhere?
    Thanks.

  • Major Bug in CS's color profiles, color management & working spaces

    Hi everyone:
First of all, thanks so much for taking the time to read and answer my questions!!! I am having a having a major bug in CS3's creative suite. The problem is the following:
    1. My settings are not sticking in Photoshop. Last night I selected Adobe RGB as my working space and this morning I woke up with it being Apple RGB.
    2. Bridge. When I select one of the thumbnails of my edited files I see the colors and levels changing before my very eyes. My theory is that profiles are being assigned to the images as I select them.
    3. Photoshop. Photoshop is assigning embedded profiles (of whatever working space is selected) into my files. I have the color management system on off so this should not be happening.
The only solutions that I came up with were to either uninstall and reinstall creative suite or upgrade to CS4. Does anyone have any other suggestions out there? I would greatly appreciate them.
    All my best,
    s_ke

Ok open Edit > Color Settings. Where it says "color management policies" make sure that all these are set to "preserve"
    • You seem to be saying that photoshop is automatically converting images, without opening them? -  this is impossible
    • Document profiles are readable at the bottom of the image window and choosing 'document profile'
If something strange is happening reset your Preferences, you will not need to reinstall
It may also be that your issue is to do with monitor profiles, or something similar but its impossible to tell from your description

  • Authentication Issue with BPM work space

    Hi
I have created a sample BPM process using JDeveloper and deployed as well
but when i tried to login to verify created process in workspace it shows the
"Invalid ID or password. Please try again" , i tried using weblogic user id and password (weblogic/Welcome1)
and also tried using existing users in weblogic (ex:cooper/welcome1) but no luck . so could you please let me know what may be issue
and how to resolve this issue, it will great help if you can help
    Regards
    Noor

    Hi Noor
By any chance for this SOA/BPM domain, have you configured any other External Authenticator also like LDAP, AD etc. If so, is that the first in the list. And if yes, then your error is valid. You need to do some extra settings. I can give more details, once you confirm above points.
BUT if you just created a BPM domain and created those test users like jcooper/welcome1 etc, then you should not get these errors. I hope you used the demo community seed war file, deploy and run that servlet. And also, make sure that you are using correct username/passwords. So first try weblogic user on your console, em etc. Then try bpm/workspace. You should be able to login, even though you may not see links on left side to create new taks,
    Thanks
    Hi Ravi Jegga,
Thanks for your reply, i have not configured to any external authenticator and i have not created any test users while creating domains i hope this test users will created automatically , i am able to login both weblogic console and em as well when i try login for work space it shows the Invalid user name or password
I am trying very basic sample process model given by Oracle (http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/obpm/11g/r1/firstProcess/firstprocess_obpm11g.htm)
so could you please let me know if i miss some thing

  • [Gnome] freeze work spaces view in combination with beamer presentatio

    Hello guys,
I often have to hold speeches using a presentation for my own support. What I'm still missing is a possibility to freeze the display. Means my presentation is on work space 1 and when I then switch to space 2 the audience should still see the presentation.
    Is something like that achievable?
    Best regards
    orschiro

Exactly. I saw this feature on a Macbook where the lecture had his Keynote presentation open and then switched to another work space where he could run other programs while the beamer still displayed the presentation.
But nice idea with the second X session. I'll try that out if there's no other option.

  • How can you add a new working space to PSCS5

I would like to try to add Beta RGB, Best RGB, jc1RGB, and I think there's a Bruce RGB to my choices of working space in PSCS5, but have not been able to find a reference. Maybe it's simple. I woud want to be able to embed the profile as well.

What the heck? I went back into Library/etc/etc/etc  and there was no Profiles folder. I did it again and there it was. ??? Anyway this time I found Wide Gamut in the Recommended folder. I swear it wasn't there before, but of course it was.  So I went to More Options in Color Settings and I can select it as a working space from there.  So that quest is over. I guess I'll load Best and Xtreme into Recommended and try them out.
All this has caused me to wonder when if ever Photoshop will have a five primary editing space. That would reqire a LOT of coding.
See   TFT Central  "The Pointer's Gamut". Very informative overview of the state of the art.  FYI , Pointer's Gamut is all the reflective colors.

it says C:\PinnacleDummyData.xml not found i work space , how to make it look for the file out side work space (particularly given location)Why dont you include the xml file in your workspace/web application?
All these are custom tags, right? So somewhere in the code for the custom tags, it would load the xml file for parsing.
There are different ways to load a file. The first is to use the absolute path (not recommended) and anyways I dont think your application does it that way because then your file would have been loaded even if it's outside the web application folder.
The better approach is to load the file as a resource stream.
The ServletContext object has a method getResourceAsStream() to load files from the web application path. But then the xml file has to be inside the web application and if this is indeed how your tags have been coded, you have no other option but to include the xml file in your web application.
There is another way - to use the ClassLoader's getResourceAsStream() method. The ClassLoader looks up the classpath variable to search for files. In this case, you need to add your xml file location (c:/dir or whatever) to the application server's classpath. Look up in the startup scripts for your application.
As I said, it all depends upon the tag code that looks up the xml file and whether you can tweak it.
    cheers,
    ram.

    file by file.
Or- there is this pay for extension:

The info about the stylesheets for a given filename is in a
