Hello all-I am looking for some infromation on the Web Dynpro Application ESS role Working Time, all that it does, how I can go about modifying it, etc etc...any documentation that may exist on it. Please point me in the right direction? Thanks!!

How to restrict the dropdown values in Att/abs type in Record Working Time

Hello experts,
We are implementing ESS business package. In the Record Working time, within the Weekly View and Daily View tabs, there is a column Att/abs.type which has several drop down values - like: floating value, Funeral Leave, Military Reserve, Regular Attendance, etc. Our requirement is to restrict the dropdown values by means of showing only one of these values (say: Regular Attendance) and others should not be shown. How do we achieve this?

Header information not displaying in ABAP Webdynpro record working time

1. I am not seeing the header information, personnel number, name, cost center, on the ABAP Webdynpro record working time timesheet. When I run the timesheet profile in CAT2 the header contains the personnel number, name, cost center, but these do not display when the ABAP Webdynpro timesheet is run
2. Is there a version of the ABAP webdynpro timesheet that prompts for the personnel number, date and profile prior to executing the timesheet? I want to define an ESS link for managers to update timesheets of individual teammates. The teammate do not necessarily have to be their direct reports

Hi David,
CATS Webdynpro application is a OIF fpm. Please check if you have performed the FPM IDR configuration properly.
In standard, the ESS CATS does not prompt for the personnel number except in CE scenario. In MSS addon, you have an option to launch the ESS CATS application on-behalf of the employee. Please refer to the sap library documentation.

MSS - Approval of working time

Hi
As a manager (MSS) i am getting three option when an emp(ESS) submits working time, viz, approve all, reject all, resubmit all.
I want to delete the resubmit all option. I have checked in R/3, the documentation says that this entry is defaulted by SAP.
is there is any way by which we can modify this option?

Do you manage to hide the resubmit all button? I am facing the same problem. BTW, do you know the different between resubmit and reject. I have try both and it seem the same to me.

Error when create Infotype 0007-Planned Working Time of Personnel data

Hi Experts,
I'm creating Infotype 0007-Planned Working Time for Personnel data then having a error below.( I created Work schedule rule and Gennerated it).
Feature structure cannot be recognized, please see documentation
Message no. P0568
Diagnosis
Cause 1:
The structure of the feature is not saved in the feature directory.
Cause 2:
The feature structure is not defined in the program that reads the feature.
Cause 3:
The feature that the program expects does not match the actual feature structure.
Procedure
Cause 1:
Please advise your system administrator that all features must be regenerated. Please note that this generation must take place in client 000 first, and then in all other clients (report RPUMKF00 or the Generation function in the feature maintenance transaction (transaction PE03)).
Cause 2:
The feature structure must always be defined in the program reading the feature (see documentation for program RPUMKC00).
Cause 3:
Please contact your system administrator
I did using T.Code PE03 in Client 000 but I don't know what is Features?
Please tell me how solves it ?

Approval of Working Time & Multi Level CATS approval

Hi experts,
We have implemented CATS multi level approval as below.
1. In the CATS user exit we call a Workflow which is a multi level
workflow.
2. We are using the standard Webdynpro for CATS entry and approval.
Problem:
Once the first level manager(Say A) approves the timesheet work item
gets triggered for the next level approver(Say B). Since approval is a
standard webdynpro, the status of the CATS record immediately changes
from 20 to 30. So in the workflow, before sending the work item to
second level approver, we change the status of the time record back to
20 (Since it is yet to go through all approvals).
Now in the Team--> Approve working time section of the MSS, manager 'A'
still sees the record for approval, even though now the approval is
pending from 'B'. Moreover 'A' can approve this item as well (which
should not be the case).
Please provide a solution so that 'A' will not have the working time
item in his 'Working time section' after the A approves it in the UWL.

The primary limitation you will encounter when trying to do high speed
digital I/O using your E-Series hardware is that the digital lines are
all software timed. This means that for each and every digital
read it is necessary for your software to issue a command to your
hardware, read a single point, then receive the response from the
board. This prevents you from performing digital operations at
very high speed. In general, I would say that 100 microseconds is
a very good response using software-timed digital I/O on a Windows
computer.
It is difficult to make a good recommendation without more detail about
what you are trying to do. You may need to consider switching to
a Real-Time operating system, or upgrading your DAQ hardware to a board
that will allow you to time your digital acquisitions on the board
itself. These devices, such as the m-Series DAQ or the PCI-653x
series, would allow you to use hardware triggers for your digital
acquisitions, change detection, and buffered data acquisitions to
reduce the software overhead involved in a rapid acquisition.

Working Time Approval

Hi Gurus,
We are using the SAP Std. Working Time application. Employee is submitting his/her working time and the manager received a Work Item in his UWL.
While clicking on it, Manager is redirected to the collective approval screen.
Is there a way that he can approve individual employees request rather than doing it collectiviely?

Adding Validation In record working time.

Hi Experts,
I have to add a check in Record Working Time, so that, it does not allow to record working times which are more than 45 days older than today.
Please tell me where I have to make changes, If I have to make changes in User Exit then please tell in which user exit and how.

Op PPINC, attendance reason, over or above planned working time frame.

Hi all,
We need to automatically generate attendances/absences from the att/abs reasons from time events. So we are using TD80 rule and V_T705A.
It works OK for almost all cases, except when the attendance is over or above the planned working time frame.
I've read TD80, R555D, PPINC, PPINU help, and I can't find the solution.
i.e. working time is from 12 to 7pm hs. and the employee was present from 8 am to 7 pm, so i need to generete an attendance from 8 am to 12.
Any help?

we need to automatically generate (through time evaluation, using td80 rule and V_T705A table), attendances/absences (it2002 and it2001) from the att/abs reasons from time events (it2011).
We are already doing this, for attendances /absences within the planned working time frame and it's working OK.
The problem is that, when the attendance is over or above the planned working time frame, stdandard function send an error message:
u201CError entry no. 28 Error when generating abs./att.

I understand, this control must exists for abscences outside the working time frame, but it seems not to be logical for attendances (it can be done through PA61).
Example:
Working time for an employee is from 1 pm to 7pm hs.
The employee was present from 8 am to 7 pm, so we need to generate an attendance (it2002) from 8 am to 1 pm.
The system allows to do this, through standard transaction PA61, so, I think it should be possible to do the same, using time evaluation too.
Iu2019ve already tried with the different variables for operations R555D, PIPNC y PPINU, but I could not find a combination that works properly for this case.
Besides, help documentation about PPINU function says u201CABSENCES of less than one day are never generated over and above the planned
working time frame. It would not be possible to enter these records online either.u201D
But unfortunally, it says nothing about ATTENDANCES over and above the planned working time frame.

Custom Search help in Record Working Time

Hi,
We have a requirement to add a custom field on RECORD Working Time ( ESS). This field has been added and custom search help is assigned to the data element of the field. The values in the F4 help should vary based on employees department.
The related code for this requirement is written in the serach help exit. The F4 help is working as expected from backend ( ECC) but not in Portal (ESS).
I have added the custom field in TCATS_SHLP_ITS. After maintaining this table all the values in F4 help are displaying , whereas it should only display the values under employees department in Record Working time.
I understand the class cl_xss_cat_value_help_general is responsible for the search help in ESS is there any user exit or enhancement available for this class in order to control the serach values on ESS.

please modify the following in the table TCATS_SHLP_ITS as follows:
1. Execute the T-Code SM31
2. Enter the table name TCATS_SHLP_ITS.
or check the class
CL_XSS_CAT_VALUE_HELP_GENERAL
or check

Record Working Time task merging multiple employees into a single task

Hi Everyone,
I'm going to check our configuration again to see if this is standard behaviour, config, or a problem with EHP 3's version of record working time.
So if employee A submits to manager A 1 task is created. Then when employee B submits to manager A we were expecting 2 tasks. However, we've been noticing manager A is getting 1 task with several line times.
We are ok with it merging tasks for employee A over multiple weeks. That is ideal actually.
The problem is that employee B's task should be separate.
Is there a quick fix?

I did try 31000007 and noticed the same behavior. Are you saying I should use an older version of the task to get back to grouped by employee number and not merging everything?
Well this causing us issues for a few reasons. The main one we developed a work around because we had to make sure emails were not being sent to 1 person for all the employees with their data. That would cause obvious security concerns.
But when forward tasks out managers want to be able to forward a specific employee's requests and not all of them. If some customers want this it should be a configurable option. To allow companies that want 1 single task or companies that want 1 task/employee/week.
This is inconsistent with the other portal applications. It would be nice if Germany picked 1 way of doing things or provided more configuration options. I'm hoping that OSS gives us something because merging everything into a single task for all employees is not the behaviour we want or expected.
I always appreciate your input because you have been very helpful as I learn about portal.

CATS webdynpro Java - working times in weekly view

Hi Team
1. Start & end time in Weekly view : Requirement is to allow shift planning employees to enter their working times in weekly view itslef. But as I had discovered that it is possible to enter it only in dailuy view of webdynpro Java application in ERP 6.0.
I came across a better Webdynpro ABAP application which exactly fits the requirement but it is part of EHP5, getting a mini upgrade for one application was also rejected. is it possible to implement in a short period of time without great impact ..anybody experienced on this?

2. Default Attendance type & target hours & start & end times from Infotypes : CATS0002 exit is called only when we go to next step ,is there any other way to default as soon as CATS screen is loaded ?

Thanks for your valuable inputs. I went and looked into the java file and found bit different.I dont see how they are getting the column headers like Saturday,Sunday,Monday...
Basically I need to keep one 'Submit' button on top of my table and on click, it should populate 8 hrs in the correspounding column.For eg. if its monday, it should default 8 hrs in monday column so that user dont have to manually type it in and also save these working hrs in the backend system without further click on 'Save' or 'Review'.
I still need to check with the ABAPers regading the user exit.
Also, Is it possible if I create a custom webdynpro application where I can use a BAPI that takes in the current day from my webdynpro and update the cats database and send an export parameter with success or error message.

ESS Working Time - Start Time and End Time in Weekly View

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the business package ESS - functionality Working Time (cat2).
I need that information to Start Time and End Time appear in the Weekly View of the portal.
In Daily View that information are already visible, but In Weekly View that information does not appear.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Bala
You can have clock in and clock out in a weekly view.
you have to change the data entry profile settings.
In general settings tab in data entry profile click the with clock times button and maintain the Period type to 02 in time settings tab.
And you can view the weekly entry in clock in and clock out.
