Working with 2 Documents at Same Time in Pages

Would someone be able to tell me if it is possible to have 2 different documents open in the same view at the same time in Pages '08? I would like to be able to copy/paste or drag/drop from 1 document to the other. Thanks!

Or offset the two on the display so that (parts of) both are visible. Click on the back one to bring it to the front.
Items selected in the active (front) window may be dragged and dropped onto the other window.

Working with documents via BEx Analyzer not using the portal

Hello,
i read that we are able to create (work) with documents (comments) via
BEx Analyzer. When i want to add a comment how it is described in the
help we get connected to the portal. We dont want to use the portal for
that. Therefore we searched a way to skip the portal. We read that in
BW Versions before 7.0 the portal was not connected but since 7.0 we
have the portal connectivity, but it should also possible to not use
the portal and to access directly the BI Server. I searched for the
Customizing to do so but i could not find it where to switch to the old
logic.
And another question is when we use the Portal with the knowledge base . The documents are stored in the document framework (SKWF). Is it the same as the Datawarehousing Workbench --> documents. This storage we want to use.
Can anyone give me a hint?

We are also facing the same issue of when trying to create/access the documents from BEx analyzer it is connecting portal , we need to bypass portal and directly access the document browser in BW server.
In your thread you mentioned it is done. So can you please let me know how did you enable the old configuration?. It will be very much helpful to us.

If you mean will Java support Telugu characters, well, Java uses unicode. There are unicode code pages for Telugu: http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0C00.pdf , so I'm guessing that you can write a Telugu program in Java ( or was that a Java program in Telugu?)

Will Mountain Lion work with old models of Time Capsule?

I was using an online backup service but it slowed down my machine so I want to go to an external drive backup. I have upgraded to Mountain Lion and I am thinking of purchasing an older version of Time capsule for my backups. My question is will mountain lion work with older models of Time Capsule? thanks so much.....

Yes. I have a first generation Time Capsule and it works fine.
Just make sure you buy at least 3 times the GB you are trying to backup. More is better.

Multiple users working in the same document and same time.

At our company we're still in doubt wether or not to update our software to CC or just update to CS6. Currently we all have different versions (going from CS3 to CS5), and that's really time-consuming.
The most important question would be if it is possible in the CC to work in the same file at the same time.
Working on magazines, catalogues or books this would be a major time-saving option!
For example I could work on chapter 1 and 6, whilst my collegues are working on the other chapters.
The other users could then see how far I am on my chapters, change things (make notes) etc.
Is this possible in CC or not?

Let me attempt an answer.
Short answer, no. Multiple users cannot edit a the same file at the same time.
You'll need a content management system, to enable check in/check out, prevent overwrites etc. But (there's always a but), Creative Cloud offers several workflows and tools that can be used to help streamline multi-user publication workflows.
Using Creative Cloud will ensure that all users will be on the same version of the software, and there won't be any accidental lockouts due to format changes, and no need to run arounf to get the document downsaved. All users also have access to the latest features as soon as they become availble.
For products, such as books and magazines: InDesign needs to be the primary software that you use. When you design the content architecture of your publication, you can employ the following techniques and tools:
Break up your publications into several INDD files, let's say for file for each story.
Compile the individual files into an InDesign book.
Link Ps and Ai or other files when you place them in the InDesign layout. That way whenever a designer updates an asset, InDesign will notify you that a linked file has changed and you can choose to update the link.
InCopy was recently added to the Creative Cloud. Authors can can edit stories without actually having to open the InDesign files. For details see the InCopy help. InCopy has several workflows that can help out in this kind of setup.
Other than the Creative Cloud apps, you'll also need to setup folder and directory structures on the shared storage location.
Setup a shared location/drive so that all users have access to the linked files.
Control read/write access to individual files using the OS commands on the file directory/server. For example, Layout designers only have edit permissions on the layout (indd files); while Photographers can only edit .psd files, and so on. For small teams this might not be necessary, but for larger teams this may help.
You could also consider storing your files using a Content Management System. You'll need to evaluate the cost and benefits properly.

FiOS Digital Voice and Internet Reoccurring Problem with Outage at Same Time Every Night

I was hoping someone could help me out or enlighten me as to what may be going on.
I've been having problems the past two nights (5/17 and 5/18) where at 12:45am CST, both the internet and Digital Voice service go out. The problem with this is that the outage trips our home alarm due to the dropped connection (which scares our child) and disrupts any large downloads (e.g. Steam purchases) that I may have set up to run during the night. After 5-10 minutes, service is restored and works properly.
We haven't had problems of this nature since we switched to digital voice around two months ago, and we tested our alarm system with the provider to ensure it works properly with Digital Voice (it does).
Does anyone know if Verizon has been doing backend updates or something of that nature that would knock service out two nights in a row at the same time?
I haven't received any information indicating there are outages, planned or otherwise, in our area, and the Verizon support staff I contacted, while polite and courteous, did not have an answer for me. I am hoping that we don't have to endure a third night of this.

To follow up on this, we again had another occurance at 12:45am CST Saturday morning. Thankfully, though, we did not have another occurance Sunday morning.
However, I still would like to know what the root cause of this problem is. I've powercycled my ONT (removed power, removed battery backup) per Verizon support's instructions Friday afternoon, but it did not appear to have any impact on the problem at hand.

Sharepoint send to button not working with document mode 9

We are using document mode 9 for HTML 5 in the master page but the SharePoint send to button is not working with ie 9.
Can anyone help me to resolve this issue.

SharePoint 2010 doesn't use HTML 5, so its possible that the browser is running in quirks mode. Try the default compatibility mode and see if that works for you.

Accessibilty tproblem with document having more than 50 pages

If a tagged document has more than 50 pages, accessibility does not work.
You need to change the settings in the wizard - set more than 50 pages.
Question: I have a document for the customer. Is it possible this option to save the document? Do I need to change it on any computer with Acrobat? What about the documents having more than 50 pages?

in the setting of any spool I selected 10000 pages as the last page... I dont have spool to check and see if it really displays all 10000 pages.

Does the Logitech keyboard work with Documents to Go?

I just got the Logitech Tablet Keyboard for iPad. I can use it on Notes, Pages etc. but when I try to use it with Documents to Go, I can not type on a new Word document.

try this. with the blue tooth turned off, enter a letter or two into your document, then turn the bluetooth on and see if it picks up from there. I seem to recall a glitch with some bluetooth keyboards unable to start a new document but they can edit an existing one.
No idea if there's a total fix since I think their tech support forum was shut down and help is handled on a one to one e-mail basis, but I remember that work around.

I need to work with documents in webforms

I need to be saving word (and possibly other aplications')
documents in the database, and make them available to my clients
which are using WebForms so that they could edit them, print
them, save them back in the DB, etc... I am aware that OLE isn't
suported with WebForms.
Would any of you know of some way to acomplish that feat?
I guess something could be done (with some creativity anything
is, but then mine is pretty low these days ;-)

but then i have another question, couldn't i call word from the
browser to edit that file?

Another solution we have been thinking of is that instead of
using word, we could maybe have an RTF (or other format that
gives us formating capabilities) Java Editor, which i guess could
be called from a form trigger, passing along the BLOB as a
parameters. This is just guessing, as: i don't have that editor
yet, i am not sure i could pass the BLOB to it,
nor if i could have it back...
Any ideas on this subject (and experiences!!!) are welcome. We'll
be eagerly waiting for any input you could give us.

On your Macs open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Documents & Data, then reselect that box then restart your Macs.
On the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud. Switch Documents & Data off then back on then reset the iPhone.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
See if you can open the files now without opening on the iPhone first.

Attempting to work with documents and sandbox

I am working on a document organizer and I am trying to integrate such features into the sandbox model. However I have run into a snag - the app cannot access ~/Documents or if a user has dropbox ~/Dropbox. From the list of entitlements it does not appear there is any way for me to scan these directories regularly to allow the user to view them. If a user adds the files using the File interface, it requires many steps and is not seamless. For now there is the temporary entitlement to access and write files and directories relative to the users home. However I do not imagine this will last for long. So I am not really sure how to proceed. Has anyone else had a similar situation, how did you get around this liitation?

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Seriously Aperture 2 has been marginal ever since Lion came out. People have been able to get it to limp along but there have been major issues. That is has worked at all till now is somewhat amazing.
If you continue to try and work with Aperture 2 in Mavericks make sure you have good working backups of your libraries. There is a chance that using 2 with Mavericks will corrupt your libraries.

Working with hrefs, how does the target page know what to do?

I'm working with a converted ND app.
I have an href in a tiledView, which when clicked will take you to a
detail page for the record. I see where in the creation of the HREF,
it links together the model info from the source with the target:

I don't see any code that would explicitly or implicitly make it use

Hold down ths shift key then highlight the first of the group and then the last of the group.
If the files are not in order hold down the command key and then select them one at a time in any order.
