Working with belle nuit subtitler

anyone can share experience and tips working with belle nuit in FC? I find it so confusing and now am stuck after importing EDL, I cant create a sequence from all my tiffs.

Of course they would say that. Couldn't possibly be their problem.
I have trouble with the idea that anything is too big for OSX and G5s to handle but if that's your gut feeling, your only route is to split the project into two or three reels and see what happens.
Sorry can't give you any more adive, I don't use BN.

Frequent freezing with Belle Nuit Subtitler

I've been using (and greatly appreciating) Belle Nuit Subtitler for some time now.
In the past week, however, FCP often freezes (spinning ball) after I've edited a title and go to reconnect it.
Trashing my preferences seems to help, but only for awhile.
Anyone have a similar experience, and hopefully a solution to it?

Does the macbook air work with bell wireless internet?

im thinking about buying a macbook air but i need to know if it works with bell wireless internet

My understanding is that the BWI uses an 802.11b wireless standard that is perfectly compatible with the built-in reception that the MBA has.
Is there anything that would lead you to doubt the compatibility?

Does Nokia Gig Finder work with Belle FP1?

Has anyone tried Nokia Gig Finder with Belle FP1 to see if it works since it does not with regular Belle?

Will a Sprint iPhone 4S work with Bell Mobility in Canada?

I recently purchased a locked-to-Sprint iPhone 4S 32gb and I would like to be able to use it with Bell in Canada... Is this possible out of the box via the SIM slot or do I need to call Sprint and unlock it.... or is using it even possible?

You have to have it unlocked by Sprint for international use. They will ONLY do so if you are a current Sprint customer in good standing. If you are not a Sprint customer, then you bought the wrong phone. Either return it and get your money back, or sell it and buy a phone you can use.
IF they unlock it, it can be used on any non-U.S. GSM carrier. It can never be used on any U.S. carrier other than Sprint.

Nokia Chat doesn't work with Belle in N8

Hello.
I upgraded to Belle this weekend but now the chat app doesn't work. I got it again from the store, and now it only shows as a widget, not as an app, but it simply doesn't work.
I click on the widget, there's an update on the screen so the touch seems to have been recognized, but that's it, nothing happens after that.
Is anyone else had the same problem?

Odd thing, we have N8 and 701 both running same / stock Belle version. The new Chat in N8 work fine but not on 701. On 701, won't accept my valid login to GTalk!
BTW, the new Chat found on Store actually havs improved widgets; one per service. Too bad it is still not fully ready for prime time...

Google maps not working with symbian belle upgrade

guys after recent upgrade with symbian belle google maps stopped working is there any problem will belle dose it support google maps 4.1.1

For those people still can't get Google map to work on Belle after the Wifi trick, a hard reset finally fixed mine! (No, a soft reset did not fix mine, but you should try it first.) Yea, it's a pain in the butt having to reinstall some apps and reconfigure preferences. But my phone also runs smoother and the battery lasts longer, as least it seems. I still need to turn on Wifi for Google map to start.
Detailed steps:
Do a full backup with Nokia Suite, just in case. (If you restore later, do not restore apps & preferences. Otherwise, Google map won't work.)
Put phone in Offline mode to end all calls and connections: Press Hangup > Offline
Try Soft reset first: Settings > Phone > Phone Management > Factory Settings > Restore.
Reinstall Google Maps.
If soft reset didn't work, try Hard reset: Settings > Phone > Phone Management > Factory Settings > Delete data and restore

Subtitles: DVDSP 3.x hangs up by working with 25 clips

Hi,
I´ve got a Problem with DVDSP creating subtitles.
A Project with 25 short interviews, one longer Clip and a few menus. I imported the subtitles (.stl-format). No problem. But when working with these titles in the timeline (moving, trimming) the program often hangs up. Sometimes I can do some two or three actions - then the program hangs.
Moreover, now that I got all the titles doen, I tried to burn a disc. The subtiltes appeared - but the size was wrong. I worked with 26-point dot height, but the titles seem to have 30 or 32 now - the titles now have different spacing.
Any Idea? By the way - it´s DVDSP 3.x

Have you tried using just vesa to see if you can start X this way?

I have recently switched ISPs and have anew e-mail address but ThunderBird will not work with this address. Have tried tech staff with Bell to no avail

My old e-mail address was SHAW XXXXX.and worked very well with Thunder Bird mail. I recently switched to new ISP Bell and my new address is XXXXXX However with several attempts with techs ,Thunder Bird will not work with my new ISP. I had to start using Outlook.com and Outlook Express 6 for e-mail,but I really liked Thunder Bird and have numerous e-mails stored in it that I cannot import.
Outlook Express 6 is outdated and because I am running Windows XP it will not give me a newer version.I find Outlook.com confusing to me. Can you help

Why don't you tell us what you did and why it didn't work? Start from File/New/Existing Mail Account, enter your details, click Continue, then immediately click Manual config. On the next screen enter these settings:
incoming POP server: pophm.sympatico.ca
port: 995
Connection security: SSL/TLS
Authentication: Normal password
User name: your full email address
outgoing SMTP server: smtphm.sympatico.ca
port: 587 (or try 25)
Connection security: STARTTLS
Authentication: Normal password

Extension bells not working with ADSL filters

I wonder if someone could advise me please. Since January I have subscribed to a BT Vision package. Unfortunately I am experiencing trouble with my phone line as a result.
Roughly 15 years ago, due to hearing loss, I had an extra bell installed (a 50E – Serial S/1000/3/K/501724) to amplify the sound from my old phone. In about 2003 I had an extra bell installed, also courtesy of BT – this is sealed against the wall and cannot be removed to check the model number. These bells are incompatible with the internet, so if I have the home hub plugged in, I experience constant white noise on the line (despite ADSL filters on my phone lines) which makes it very difficult to hear what is being said on the line. If extra ADSL filters are placed on the wires for both bells, the noise goes silent but so do the bells. The bells do not seem to work with ADSL filters.
What is BT's policy regarding the upgrading of these non-net-compatible bells?

It does seem a bit complex, especially if you have the home hub upstairs. Its quite likely that the extensions do not all originate from the master socket, which makes things difficult.
The ADSL filters are probably breaking the continuity of the bell circuit and stopping the bells working.
It really needs an experienced Openreach technician to re-arrange the wiring so that the bells are both on the same circuit, and fed from a filtered faceplate, without upsetting the broadband to your upstairs extension. A Broadband Boost technician would probably know more about these issues.
The problem is, that someone will have to pay for the technicians time, as the internal wiring is the responsibility of the customer.
You can see what the BT Care Team say, but in the end, its going to involve some internal rewiring and cost.

Does airplay printers also work with packard bell laptop,ifso which to buy

My printer is due for upgrade (6-7yr old !), do airplay printers work with standard laptops also? (Packard bell easynote),
ifso which is the cheapest but good one to buy? (probly from Tesco or argos and suchlike lol)
I don't even know what airplay is apart from the fact they work with my iphone/ipad.

You have to check the specs on the printer you wish to buy. But in general, if you can connect a cable to the printer, the printer should work with your laptop. I do not know if windows supports Airprint. See if the printer supports windows wifi print.
To print from the ipad/iphone, you need an an Airprinter. {{ Airplay is to do with video on your tv. }}

Using Belle Nuit from scratch....ARGGGGG !!!

This is far from straight forward...Belle Nuit is a subtitle programme here is what I want to do.
1. I have 35 pages of text that I need transferred to DVD S4.
2. They need to line up underneath the person as they speak.
I have tried doing this in DVD-S4 but its very time consuming. I thought a dedicated prog like Belle Nuit would be the answer but I dont know how to line up the text to the words let alone export it to DVD-S4. Has anyone used Belle Nuit for subtitles in DVD-S4 and could you give me some basic tips to get this working for me.
I do not want to buy this prog till I know it will work for me and save me some time.

IPhone 3S was used with Bell, then unlocked to use with Rogers. Now I want to use it as iPod (Don't want to activate as phone),but when connecting to iTunes I'm getting message: There is no SIM card, disconnect and insert new SIM card. Help?

I have an old iPhone 3S, that was used with Bell. My friend lost her phone and I lend her this one, which she unlock to use with Rogers. I got it back and want to use as an iPod not the phone, but when I connected to iTunes I am getting this message: "There is no SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate. Please diconnect and insert a SIM card".
I went to Bell and Rogers where we tried inserting active cards but message never changed.
On the phone itself I am able to get wifi but finish with "Your phone could not be activated because the activation server is temporary anavailable."
I run diagnostic from iTunes:everything is working properly, only message out of normal is "iTunes is not running in safe mode"
How can I sinc this phone with iTunes, so I can use it to lisen to music?

I can not get to iPhone screen, so no way to get to Settings. That is the problem. When I connect phone to iTunes I get screen asking to insert SIN card. On the phone I'm getting Cinfigure screen asking Launguage , Country or Region, Wi-Fi, ( I can connect to my home wi-fi), and last screen "Activating your iPhone". After two minutes of waiting IM getting message: Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server in temporary unavailable. try connecting to iTunes or try later or contat apple.com/support.

How to work with an EXISTING wordpress site in side DW CS5 (yahoo hosted)

Have and existing Wordpress site that is hosted by Yahoo. Recently upgraded to Dreamweaver CS5. Was really excited about working with my Wordpress files inside of DW CS5 with all of it's new capabilities, bells and wistles. I can't seem to get it set up right.
Is Dreamweaver CS5 ABLE to display existing wordpress sites with dynamic content? And can anyone please help me figure out how.

Dreamweaver CS5 and Wordpress 3 by Joseph Lowery (over the last month)
Dreamweaver CS5 with PHP and MySQL by David Gassner (over the last month)
PHP with MySQL essetial training by Kevin Skoglund (about a year ago when trying to learn php)
Self-hosting a Wordpress site (about a year ago when I set up the site)
I have also been scouring this forum and the web trying to find the answer to what seems to be a very common problem.

Everything works fine with the exercise files but as soon as I try my existing site files it gives me one of several errors
cannot establish a connection to the database
I set up my site thur the DW site manager with the
Local Site Folder set to: /applications/MAMP/htdocs/nate
server set to:
name: testing
connection using: local/network
server folder: /applications/MAMP/htdocs/nate
web url: http://localhost/nate
under the advanced tab i have set the server model to: php mysql
and have the testing box checked in the site set up dialog box
I also set a remote server:

connect using: ftp

username: myusername@MY_SITE_NAME.com
password: mypassword

when tested connection was made. I also downloaded all of my site files using this connections (it took hours).
I installed MAMP and set the ports to the defauls (80, 3306) host: localhost username: root password: root
If i change the database settings in the wordpress wp-config.php file to: localhost, root, root it works and displays my page as I would expect in live view or browser but without the main content area or posts - displays a 404 error where the content should beI have exported my wp database and imported back into my local testing server thru phpmyadmin.
I have also gotten this error at various tries in the set ups: "dynamically-related files could not be resolved because of an internal server error"
I am currently getting this error: "Dynamically related files could not be resolved because the site definition is not correct for this server"
It is not asking me if I want to save files to the server when I hit live view.
Everything works fine with the lynda.com exercise files and with the generic wordpress files. I can open any page - live view or view in browser - can access and modify the imported database thur dreamweaver and phpmyadmin. I am only having these problems with my existing site files. I have done the complete set up at least 5 times from scratch going thru the videos and various tutorials step by step. I dont want to use the starter files that come with wordpress installations I want to use my highly modified pages/themes/database

DW does not work with a WP installation that has anything other than the default (numeric) permalinks. Apparently no-one ever tested this case during the development and prerelease phase, which is a shame, because very few WP installations use default permalinks. It's a point that Joseph Lowery doesn't touch in his tutorial, and of course the tutorial WP installation works perfectly.
Hope that helps, although it may disappoint (as it did me, and a lot of other folks). Here's hoping this is addressed in a dot release.

iphone 5 will use nanosim instead of microsim so that one won't work
you could check you with carrier to see if they will give you another sim though but I dunno if the ATT 5 will have the right data bands so you might not get LTE or w/e
