Just starting my day and show your latest post. The reason that you are not using the 1080p50 project preset seems to be that you are allowing the program to set the project preset, and it is not recogizing your video's properties for some reason. When this happens, it gives you the default 1080i.
Please try the following.if your video is 1080p50.
Open a new project.
Go immediately to File Menu/New/Project and set the project preset to
PAL
AVCHD
AVCHD 1080p50
Before exiting the new project dialog, make sure to have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on Project".
If you supply a MediaInfo properties readout for your video, we could try to figure out why the program is not recognizing your video properties to give you the 1080p50 project preset in the first place.
If you do not find the 1080p50 project preset in the PAL AVCHD choi ces in the new project dialog, please let us know.
Even if you have no colored line or green ine over Timeline content, once you edit that content, the orange line appears as a means of the program telling you that you do not have the best possible preview. So, render the Timeline content. Then the program shows green line indicating you now are looking at the best possible preview. And, so on.
As you found out, there is limited opportunities for changing project settings once the project preset has been changed. The Adobe party line is that you cannot change project settings once the project preset has been changed. We have shown that you can under certain conditions. BUT, to do that you have to go through the process of editing the Notepad document for the saved project.prel.

Incredibly Long Lag Time When Working With Effects in Premiere Pro CC 2014

I am having incredibly long lag times when working with effects in Premier Pro CC 2014. Like 60 seconds or more. This also happens periodically when I am doing something as simple as cutting into a timeline (just ripple deleting from and in to an out point).
I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.9.4 2 GHz Intel Core i7 with 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
I have seen that some people are having different versions of the same problem. I do have RedGiant plug-ins, but I am not using any of them in this project. The Red Giant plugs (again, not being used in the project) include MOJO and Universe. The previous version most certainly did not work like this. Any ideas? I did try moving the Red Giant plugs out of the COMMON folder and "alt" starting up to reset preferences. Still having same problems.
A specific example is I have an interview shot. I add brightness and contrast. Just making a change to the effect (increasing brightness) causes freezing of the interface and long delays. I added a piece of transparent video on a top layer to add a CIRCLE to create a vignette effect. Same deal -- ridiculously long times for effect changes to take place.
Does anyone have any clues as to how to fix these problems?

Got the same Error. Previous I worked with a GTX 760, and was hoping to get it fixed with using a GTX 780 6GB. But just as you, didn't solve the Problem.
Usually I got the Problem solved, with exiting Premiere, restarting it, reset my Workspace. Then the Problem of having the bugged Workspace was gone. And also the Problem of the missing Video Tracks.
At the moment I started on a new Project. Pretty simple, with only a 21 second DV footage. And here I was switching tabs with my Browser, came back to the Project, and the Video Tracks were gone. I saved, closed Premiere, restated and the Video Tracks are still missing.
So I made a new Sequence, voilá the Video Tracks are there. Thus I need to copy and paste the Tracks onto the new Sequence.
But that is not really a solution!
I was on the Phone with Adobe, and on Chat, but they couldn't help me. They suggested to get a Tesla or Quadro Card, or at least a GPU that got confirmed as working on their page. I did that, but obviously, that is not the issue.

Working with effects, styles and properties on MediaElements

Hi,
is it possible to add any kind of Image/Video/Audio effects on subclasses of MediaElement? Like PixelBender-Effects for Images or what I'm looking for is a backgroundAlpha - property like the VideoDisplay-Component provides in Flex. I want to work with Videos which provides a alpha-channel. But can't find a way to work with alpha-channel in OSMF. I can't find any properties like that in VideoElement class.

Given that effects generally apply to a DisplayObject, it should just be a matter of getting to the VideoElement's DisplayObject and applying the effect (or passing it to an object that can apply the effect). The simplest way to get to a VideoElement's DisplayObject is to hand it to a MediaPlayer and query MediaPlayer.displayObject. (You can also access it through the VideoElement's DisplayObjectTrait.)

Spell Check not working with the preset dictionary

My CS 6 InDesign on Mac does not make the spell check with the german dictionary and shows every word as unknown or wrong.
In Indesign Version 5.5 and 4 i don't have the problem. What can i do to solve this problem. There seems to be no dictionary in german for cs6 or it has no content.

How to remove effect presets from a clip?

I'm learning how to use Premiere Elements 8 from Adobe's official Help document.
I'm currently working through Chapter 10, "Applying effects", section "Working with effect presets" -> "Apply an effect preset".
The Help document doesn't tell how to remove an effect preset you had applied.
I've tried to follow the instructions for removing regular effects, but they don't seem to work in the case of presets.
How can i remove effect presets from a clip?

I suspect it's actually a standard PE terminology that i'd better get acquainted with.
I wanted to address this part separately. Actually, "workflow" is more of a video, or at least NLE term, and is not specific to PrE.
As for terminology, this ARTICLE might prove useful.
As I attempt to point out, some of these terms might be applied slightly differently, depending on the exact program used. As a for instance, PrE 8 has moved all of the Export options to Share. I still write "Export/Share" in case a PrE 2 through 7 user reads it. Terms can change. Also, Avid might call one common operation by one name, and Final Cut Pro use a different one.
For me, I had to learn some new terms. I can from a film background. Terms were changed with video. For instance, my old Fade-to-Black is now Dip-to-Black in most NLE's. First time that I typed Fade-to-Black, everyone came back with "huh???"
I read a lot of books on general editing of both video and audio. Some authors use different programs, and though the core theories are the same, their terminology can be rooted in their program of choice.
Also, with regards to audio, many still use a lot of the terminology from the analog days, and keep them, because analog is still part of the workflow in most productions - think of the mics, for instance. There is generally less analog left in video, unless someone needs to telecine film to digital, or transfer VHS tapes to digital. More of the total workflow is all in digital, so my old film school terms have faded.
One of the things that I attempt to do is differentiate exaclty what I am talking about. If I type video, I mean video in general. If I type Video, I am talking about the video Assets in a Project. Notice that Assets is also capatilized, as that is a term from the NLE and is specific to all things, SFX, Video, Audio, etc. used. Sometimes I slip up. I use project to mean the whole thing, and Project to mean the setup in the NLE, that will result in either a .PREL, or .PRPROJ file from my Adobe editors. Does this make sense?

Outer join with effective date in peoplesoft query

Hi,
I'm trying to join two tables using outer join. Both tables are effective dated:
Dept_Tbl: dept_id, status, effdt
Tips_Tbl: dept_id, tips_id, effdt
Not all records in Dept_Tbl are in Tips_Tbl. I need to get all active depts and their most recent tips_id if they have one.

Is there a way for outer join to work with effective dates?

Here is an example of one solution. Note the use of NVL on both sides of the equal sign since both sides could be NULL in the case of the outer join

Here's the short-cut solution:
Green Apple tracks are MIDI files (so to speak). If you drag one from the loop browser (Capitol C Orchestral hit, as you mentioned in this exable) directly into the arrange page it creates the MIDI file and the instrument to play it back on.
HOWEVER.If you create and audio track first, THEN drag the green Apple loop onto that track, the loop will get "bounced" with the reverb in tact and you'll have the exact sound that you heard in the preview.
Make sense?

How to "analyze" multiple clips with "Warp stabilizer"-effect preset

Is there a simple way to "analyze" multiple clips that have the Warp Stabilizer effect attached?
I have a sequence with 100 clips, which all have a customized Warp Stabilizer effect preset attached. I can attach the effect to all the clips very easily, but afterwards I have to manually press "Analyze" on each clip, which is quite irritating... Is there a shortcut?
I don’t use nesting because I have to tweak the effect-settings on some of the clips…

Yes, sadly custom presets with warp stabilizers don't work correctly. You have to go hit analyze manually for every clip. For you that may be quicker than changing your two settings for each clip. It is a bummer though. We actually use this effect several hundred times per week and prefer the "Position, Scale, Rotation" method in the settings but we can't use the custom preset because it doesn't properly re-analyze automatically like the default effect does. I'm not sure whether it'd be a bug report or a feature request (in my opinion it's a bug) but definitely report it to the link above.

You haven't given us much to go on here. What exactly are you doing and what exactly happens when you try? Which specific version of each program are you using? (Go to Help>About...)
On a side note, a simple, brief thread title is all that's needed. Something like "After Effects Issue" would be fine. You don't need the full question there.

How to work with Premiere Pro cs5.5 and After Effects cs5 together?

I have edited my movie in premiere pro cs5.5 and made the rough cut. In premiere, i have edited the video, put in soundtrack and foley. Now, i need to add muzzle flashes & blood splatters in some scenes and final color correction using After Effects cs5.
When i import the premiere project in AE and make the changes, and then i export it back as premiere project. When i open this prmiere project, it shows vaious kind of errors and no changes are retained that i did in AE. Also, when i import the premiere project (which has 4 different sequences) in AE, all the media that has been imported in the premiere project also opens in AE making it difficult to organize the media.
How should i work now so that i add vfx and color correction using AE cs5?
I thought of exporting the video from Premiere pro and then open the video in AE and add vfx to some scenes and color correction to the full video and render it out again. But, this is the first time i am using AE and i am not sure if this is the best way. PLEASE HELP.
Or, i could import the whole project in AE, add vfx, do color correction AND then export to video from AE. But i think, it will be better if i export the video from Premiere as it has loads of options to choose from while exporting to a movie.
The dynamic link does not work between Premiere Pro Cs5.5 and After Effects cs5. Even if it does, its not working on my pc.

If you are working between After Effects and Premiere Pro but with versions that are not the same number, you need to just work with movies rendered and exported as intermediate, lossless files.
Dynamic Link only works between After Effects and Premiere Pro of the same version number, and only when they are installed as part of the same suite.

Any pre keyed effect sites that work with adobe premiere elements 11?

I have been trying to find a legit non scam/virus site with pre keyed effects like explosions, gunshot fire, fire, and other effects like that.
Most sites that I've tried are virus' or only work with imovie.
Anyone know of any good sites that have pre keyed effects that works with adobe premiere elements 11? (they don't have to look good, I am just practicing with those)

Working with after effects in photoshop?

I want to edit some contents of the after effects of videos like clearning up skin or removing objects in photoshop from after effects - how would this get done? both ar cs5 and both ar 64bit

If you want to work on the frames of a movie in Photoshop, you have a few options. One is to render and export a composition from After Effects as an image sequence, and work on the frames as individual images in Photoshop. Another approach is tor ender and export the composition as a QuickTime movie and then import tha into Photoshop; this requires Photoshop Extended.
These options are covered in a bit more detail in "Working with After Effects and Photoshop".

Color correction/effects when working with long clips

First time poster!
I'm a beginner with Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5. I'm using it right now to do some color correction on badly produced DVD's in my film collection! I was wondering if it is possible when doing color correction effects on a clip if you can apply different effects to different parts of a clip. For example - At the beginning of a clip, the scene is really bright, but, some 30 minutes later, the clip is really dark. Is it possible to darken the beginning and lighten the ending? How would you folks deal with a situation like this? Would you edit the film down to smaller parts? If so, how would you go about that?

Welcome to the forum.
Along with Jon-M-Spear's suggestion (the one that I use most often too), many Effects can be Keyframed, so that they change over time. However, this does take some time, and can involve a lot of fiddling.
If you have a long Clip, and know that you will be adding the same set of Effects, but just with different attributes, you can do one of two things, and both rely on Jon-M's method:
You can create an Effect Preset, and apply that to all of your Cut, let's call them "sub-Clips," even though that term has other meanings, so be careful when using it. Then apply that Preset to all of those sub-Clips. Then, tweak each application of the Preset, as is needed for the individual sub-Clip.
In a similar fashion, you can apply all necessary Effects to the first of your sub-Clips, tweak for it, as is necessary, then Rt-Click on it, chosing Copy. Now, Select all of the rest of the sub-Clips, to which you wish to apply that set of Effects, Rt-Click on them, choosing Paste Attributes, and then tweak, as needed.
A variation on the above would be to apply the Effects to the origianal Clip, and THEN make the Cuts. Go back and tweak each individual sub-Clip.

CV Artsmart not working with After Effects CC 2014

I'm trying to do a simple Path Spread animation with CV Artsmart (Cineversity plugin) but when I open the animation in After Effect CC with Cineware the animation does not display, it works perfectly in Cinema 4d r15 ...is this a bug or known issue, is there a work around?

Not all plug-ins work with Cineware.
Also, make sure that you are targeting your installed edition of Cinema 4D R15, rather than the bundled Cinema 4D Lite, as described here:
