Working with margins on a single page

I inserted a table and can't change my margins to make the table fit on one page without adjusting the margins on all the other pages. How do I isolate a single page and work with it apart from the rest of the document? I've tried Section Break and that doesn't work.

Jerrold Green1 wrote:
There is an exception to, or workaround for, the Margins being a global (Document Inspector) setting that you might appreciate being aware of. When you need to increase the size of the margins temporarily or for the balance of the document, you can insert a Layout Break and go to the Layout Inspector to further increase the margin space. You can't make the margins smaller there (as would be required for your immediate problem), only larger.
Hi Jerrold
thank for the reminder, I forgot this feature.

  • Why is my page orientation button not working with the new update to pages?

    Since I have updated my pages my print orientation button is not working. amy ideas as to why that is and are ther many people with this problem???

    We are all busy with many other problems in Pages 5.
    Unless you have found some real reason to use Pages 5 just go back to Pages '09 which should still be in your Applications folder, until Apple sorts this all out.

  • Working With 2 Forms On One Page

    Currently, I have a situation where I need to have 2 forms on
    the same page.
    - the main form - and secondary form
    - the secondary form is a small search box - whose mysql
    query result fills a separate table on the page. From there, the
    user can click on one of the table results - and it will be added
    to the main form in the proper field.
    Everything works fine, unless the user has filled out the
    MAIN form ( without saving first ) - and then chooses to update the
    form from the secondary table. when this happens the form will be
    filled out however the user's updates are lost ( unless he saves
    first.)
    Q: Is there a way that I can make sure that the MAIN form is
    updated (action sent) prior to the secondary form action? Like with
    these 2 forms - I would like to have a button that can control BOTH
    forms ('action' send #1 then 'action' send #2) with one button
    press....
    BTW: most likely I could create something with PHP session
    variables ... but I was hoping there was some cool trick for and
    doing the 'action' update for 2 forms with one button...

    any help would be appreciated.....

  • I work with students developing HTML/CSS pages. Having trouble displaying pictures and graphics offline in web pages. IE displays student graphics, but Firefox will not. Help?

    Students create web pages offline with normal C:/ drive designations. After they have all coding issues worked out, the server address is added prior to uploading code. Graphics are placed in an image folder and code is managed in a pages folder. All located on C:/ drive. However, FireFox will not display pictures. IE will display. Suspect I need to change settings, but don't know what or where.

    You not are using the latest Spry files
    The latest  version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version  that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry  1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can  easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.
    If you replace
    <script src="http://www.adelxt.net/SpryAssets/SpryAccordion.js" type="text/javascript">
    with
    <script src="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/widgets/accordion/SpryAccordion.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    you will notice that it works as it should.

  • "Create Comment Summary" not showing in Pro 10.1.7?? How can I print document and comments with connector lines on single page?

    Adobe's instructions for Acrobat X Pro say that to print the document with connector lines on the same page, I should go from the menu to "Print With Comments Summary." I'm using version 10.1.7 and that option doesn't show up. My menu bar looks like this:
    and my print dialog box looks like this:
    And if I go to Commenting under Preferences I get this:
    I don't see any of the comment printing options Adobe refers to in their instructions. Am I looking in the wrong place for the option to print comments on the same page as the document? Or is there some reason this is not available?

    Hey Dan,
    With this call:
    DAQmxErrChk ( DAQmxCreateDOChan( taskhandle, "Dev1/PFI0:7","", DAQmx_Val_ChanForAllLines ) );
    You're trying to write to the PFI lines, which are part of port 1. Only the 8 lines on port 0 "Dev1/port0" support clocked/correlated DIO, port 1 only supports static/SW timed DIO (which is what you are using) and counter timer opperations. To do buffered output, check out the Cont Write Dig Port-Ext Clk shipping example at:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DAQmx ANSI C\Digital\Generate Values\Cont Write Dig Port-Ext Clk
    when you use this, you'll need to specify an external clock - M-Series DIO does not have its own timing engine so it has to get its clock signal from somewhere else. Most just use an onboard counter to generate a clocking signal, so the Dig-Pulse Train Cont example under counters can be combined with this.
    Most of this is covered in the M-Series user manual, though I realize its not exactly lite reading
    Hope this gets you started,

    public String btnContinue_action()
            return "postJobDetails";

    You should be able to do this with a HyperLink component.

  • Can I work with localhost to create PHP pages and then use DW to upload them

    Problem solved
    Kevin

    If you have movement on the stills you can set up expressions based on in and out points. That's what I do. I then drop all my stills in order into a comp then set the out point for all stills for the longest duration. I then set group colors for layers that I want to make different lengths, do a group select and then adjust the out points for those layers. When I'm done I sequence the layers using the keyframe assistant.
    The other way I work is to use an audio track with markers for timing. I have an expression that reads the markers and sets opacity for the layers based on pairs of markers. The motion is also controlled by expressions. That's an even faster way to set up an animated slide show.
    The last way I work is just to set in an out points for all layers, sequence the layers, use expressions to do the motion and then use time remapping on a pre-comp to adjust the timing of the slide show. All methods are quick and easy.
    Here's a fly in bounce and then drop out fxx preset that will give you an idea of how expressions based on in and out point work for slide shows. You just drag the layer to it's resting position, apply the animatiokn preset and the layer flys in, bounces, and then drops out the bottom of the comp. Works in 2D and 3D space.

  • Working With Sockets Using A Single Thread

    Nokia phones appear to have a major problem with its J2ME implementation; access a socket with more than one thread causes the MIDlet to crash. After much thought I came up with a solution:
       private class Event {
         byte[] buffer;
        /** The event queue (yeah I know it is a stack) */
        Stack eventQueue = new Stack();
        /** The input stream */
        public DataInputStream sin;
        /** The output stream*/
        public OutputStream sout ;
        public void run() {
             while(running) {
              // send outgoing events
              while( running && sin.available() == 0 ) {
                  while( !eventQueue.empty() ) {
                   Event e = (Event)eventQueue.pop();
                   sout.write( e.buffer );
                   sout.flush();
                  Thread.currentThread().yield();
              // process incoming events
        }But the flipping thing never goes into the "processing incoming events" section on real Nokia phones (works fine on the WTK thou). I'm guessing sin.available() is always returning 0.
    Can anyone else think of a way round this (keeping in mind I don't know when data is coming, and read() blocks).

    It sound like the while loop is locking out the socket read, almost like the yeild wasn't working. But you said teh threading was broken. Does a very short sleep help, is the shortest real timer interval 18.2 hertz = 55 millisecond?

  • Working with JEditorPane to display HTML page

    Search for occurences of <img> tags in the stream and replace its src="" contents by for example src="image?id=orginatingimagefilenameorso" and write kind of an ImageServlet mapped on "/image*" which streams the right images to the response.
    You may find this ImageServlet example useful: http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/04/imageservlet.html
    After all, why are you streaming HTML files through a servlet instead of just linking to them? Aren't they public accessible or so? If this is the case, consider creating a virtual host on the application server so that you can just access those files through a simple plain vanilla URL.

  • Working with existing website from Front Page

    ok, am giving up Front Page as I migrate totally to my Mac. How do I open pages on my site that is already up so I can make changes and apply themes??
    Thanks,
    Jim in Chicago

    Basically, you can't. If you want to transfer your site to iWeb, then you will have to re-build it totally in iWeb by copying and pasting from your existing site.
    iWeb has no import facility and FrontPage/Expression Web as it now is, is a PC only program just as iWeb is a Mac only program.

  • Exporting a multipage InDesign document to single page PDFs but with unique filenames using scripts

    Hi,
    I'm using InDesign 5.5.
    My goal is to export a multipage InDesign file into single page PDFs but each single PDF must be uniquely named.
    For example;
    InDesignFileName_487275123.00.pdf
    InDesignFileName_734876882.00.pdf
    ...and so on.
    I've spent a great deal of time searching online and the closest I have found is  software called Output Factory which works fine.
    The way Output Factory works is by placing a script label within a textframe on the master page in InDesign. Then whatever is typed into the text frame on each the separate pages defines the file name of each separate page.
    However if I can solve this problem without any investment costs my boss will be very happy
    I found PEU5 which works great for exporting into single pages, it's now a case of naming each single PDF but I know nothing how about to create a script but I get the gist of what they do. My understanding is that a script could solve the second half of my problem.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.
    S

    Thanks Peter but but I don't think this is what I'm looking for.
    I did find this post http://forums.adobe.com/thread/841982 but I can't seem to get the script to work.
    This is the error message I get when I run the script... any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    Hi,
    Pretty much. However, you got the event part wrong, which is mostly my fault here. First, let put down some general JSF facts about event handling.
    1. http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/api/javax/faces/component/UIComponent.html#queueEvent(javax.faces.event.FacesEvent)
    2. So, basically, queuing an event on a component means queuing it on its parent until you reach the UIViewRoot that will really actually queue it. That strategy allows iterating components to intercept event queued on their children to record the row index as well so that the data model can be synchronized correctly during the broadcast phase (see http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/api/javax/faces/component/UIData.html#queueEvent(javax.faces.event.FacesEvent) and http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/api/javax/faces/component/UIData.html#broadcast(javax.faces.event.FacesEvent))
    3. Exceptions that aren't handled by the exception handler are thrown during broadcast or various process* methods.
    So, the catch component must leverage these facts to intercept events queued on its children (by overriding queueEvent method) wrapping the original event in a custom on that flag the catch component itself as the source of the event. The result will be that the broadcast method of the catch component will be called to handle the event. The broadcast method must then unwrap the event (to get the original event), gets the original source, then call originalSource.broadcast(originalEvent) within a try-catch block.
    Does it make any more sense put that way? Note that it's an obscure part of JSF so I cannot make it incredibly simple either.
    Regards,
    ~ Simon

  • Versions (OSX Lion) - Only works with Pages?

    This may seem like a "duh?" question but here goes:  Does the "versions" feature in Lion only work w/Pages or will it also/can it be configured to work with OpenOffice or MS Word?  Also, do you have to have Time Machine enabled for Versions to work?

    Versions is independent of Time machine.
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/
    Versions only works with native Mac applications like Pages, Numbers, TextEdit and maybe a few others. Do not expectit  to work with 3rd party editors like TextMate, Dreamweaver, Coda, etc, at least not now. My Word 2008 is not supported.
    <blockquote>"Versions records the evolution of a document as you create it. Mac OS X Lion automatically creates a version of the document each time you open it and every hour while you’re working on it. If you need to revert to an older version or retrieve part of a document, Versions shows you the current document next to a cascade of previous versions — in an interface similar to that of Time Machine — so you can see how your work looked at any given time. You can revert with a click, or quickly copy and paste work from a previous version into the current version."</blockquote>
