Working with spatial/GIS data natively

I'm running Coldfusion 9 64, connecting to MSSQL 2008 R2 Express. I use a custom CRUD abstraction layer for all of my data and I'm having trouble adding support for the geometry and geography data types. I presume this same issue would apply to all native spatial data types across databases. I need to know either what cfsqltype to use or what alternate method is available. I read a passing reference to CF_SQL_BLOB being safe, but no mention of how well it supports native operations. How does ORM (or real Hibernate) handle this?

Your camera(s) shot in a certain format. It could use any of a number of codecs – including variants of MPEG2, H.264, whatever. So you import that into FCP and edit – either natively or in optimized. Then you export. When you export, it recompresses – in this case to a fairly high bit rate version of H,264. But to be clear, it always recompresses – even if your camera used H,264 to acquire the media, and you don't optimize, it will recompress in exporting to Blu Ray specs. Inevitably, there is some loss of infomation. It may or may not be a detectable loss.

You should install the drivers first before connecting your phone. Drivers are bundled in with pcsuite/ovi suite which can be downloaded from here.

Working with Validation of Data

Hi. VC Experts.
                         I am currently working with VC 6.0. Where I am working with Validation of Data.
we have fields like Emp, Earea, Joining date (month & Year), Ending date((month & Year) etc.,
Here we have one push button 'select'.
                     Here what my client asks is unless and until, user fills all details then only
the submit but should be enabled. Otherwise submit button should be in disable mode.
I could be able to write formula for 'submit' button's properties( Disable) like this.

and make sure you have placed the date picker UI controls for your date functionality.
this will not work for calender UI control on the form.
and othe important point is the joining date should be less than ending date then only the button will be enable..

I have a client who was working with Now to Date, which is now obsolete. She is looking for a mac calendar program that is as close to Now to Date as possible. She has installed Outlook 2012 but finds that is takes too much time to enter data. Help?

She has tried Outlook for Mac and it is too labor-intensive for her. She wants a professional look, and something that is not linked to e-mail as she works with a lot of proprietary information. Help?

I could not identify that app in macupdate.com. If a Calendar program, what about iCal? did she try it and disliked? If you go to macupdate.com, and type ‘calendar’ in seach filed, you will be given a lot of apps, you or she should test what it most appropriate for your/her needs.

Working with Groups, Region Data Somehow Misaligned Locations in Audio Files.. How to Realign?

Hello All,
I'm a nonexpert, so please excuse in advance any lack of knowledge that I probably should have. I've been heavily editing a recording of several days of jams for a long time, basically by cutting and aligning very disparate parts to form something new. I had been working with my drummer's audio tracks in group, so each would be aligned as I cut, pasted and stretched regions. Now to my dismay, the all of the kick drum regions have become unaligned with the other drum tracks. This isn't something I can simply nudge, because it has shifted the location of the audio data of all of the kickdrum regions back 5 or 6 seconds. Therefore, the proper start of the region is not even loaded. If you look at the screenshot below, there are two audio files, one drum overhead (0022 AIRE 2) and the kickdrum (0023 BOMBO). The regions 0022 AIRE 2.89, 107, 108, etc. should correspond in sample location with 0023 BOMBO.89, 107, 108, etc. But, as you can see, the BOMBO samples have been shifted leftwards, all of them. All of the other drum tracks have the correct alignment for each region. My question is: Is there a way I can copy the region mapping information between 0022 AIRE 2 and 0023 BOMBO? Or are there any other ways to tell 0023 BOMBO regions 89, 107, etc. to pull audio data from the same location as 0022 AIRE 89, 107, etc.? I really hope so, because if not I'm helpless. Jeez, now it has happened to my other tracks as well.. If someone could please help, I would be grateful. Put too much work into it to have this ruin everything.. Here is another picture, how can I get these samples to realign? Remember, they are supposed to be part of a group and thus aligned. For some reason, the samples for the track 040 BOMBO have been all shifted leftwards in time from where they take the sample from the audio track. How can I fix this? Thank you anyone who can help..

Yeah, unfortunately I am coming to the same conclusion.
This is the entire response I received for "instructions"
There are two projects: "fire_text_project" and "fire_text_project_plugin". The first once does not require any plugin because one particle effect is pre-rendred. If you have trapcode particular then you can use the second project and modify it.
Finally you can create a realistic fire text in after effects!
It took me a week to do the 3d fire simulation and render out all the 26 letters on fire. This is a very realistic fire thats simulated using advanced 3d software. The video is 621 x 720 px and it is 7 seconds long. All the letters has the color video and the black and white (alpha) video. You can use the alpha matte to create a tranpsarent background for the colored video. That's is how it is done in the two example comps included in the project. You will have to understand that the letters are video so it is not as easy as typing the letters using text tool to edit the text. Open the "1st text Example comp 1" comp and it has marker that explains in detail on how to edit it.
The two included comps are "Example_comp 1" and "Example_comp 2". These are great examples of what you can do with fire text but the possiblity is endless.You can create many interesting comps with these text on fire. Just to let you know the text that is rendered in 3d app is Arial Black.
Think I am going to have no choice but to simply cancel the sale and look for something else.

i recently bought a new iphone 4s factory unlocked. in order to avoid sim failures and invalid sim errors or No service errors, Each phone has to be unlocked by connecting it to the Itunes.
Kindly follow the below steps to avoid any SIM card conflicts
iPhone FULL Unlock - How it Works:
-Connect your iphone to itunes without any network sim inside and when connected click on the iphones name.
- Click Restore install latest version of iTunes on your Pc or Mac or click check for updates
- Let itunes Backup your phone and then Flash to the Latest Version.

Working with NON-Structured Data

Dear Colleague,
I am preparing to build a Forms application (using Oracle 9i Developer Suite, Release 2, version 9.0.2.0.1).
The application (and Data model) will need to associate SOPs (standard operating procedures) with certain measurements and treatments. It is planned to have the SOPs be, for example, MS Word documents, i.e. the SOPs will be non-structured data.
What is best practice when handling this situation? Please advise.
Assume I would like to view, print and (maybe) update the SOPs (Word files).
1. Should I just store a link to the Word file and a corresponding description or is it better to store the Word file in the DB?
2. If in the DB, which data type?
3. If SOP not in the DB, but a file, what is the mechanism for retrieval and display?
4. Printing the Word file via Forms - how? problems to avoid?
5. Update of the Word document via Forms - possible? How?

Working With Nested XML Data

Hello,
I'm doing my best to create a page in Dreamweaver CS4 utilizing Spry datasets and, I hope, a valid nested XML file. What I want to do is use one XML file that provides the content for my nav div and my content div. It would, in essence, display as an outline. When a user clicks on an item in the nav div the content would be displayed. What I'm guessing would work for the XML file would be this format:

I got the idea from this page in Live Docs: Create a Spry nested data set. Also from a Labs page called Nested XML Data Sample. I've been able to make various parts of the page work but I don't know what is broken. My issues are this:
I once saw but can no longer find a method for preventing redundant display of data. In this case, the nav elements which are attributes in my XML file.
The details are showing up in my content area. I must be doing the code for the nesting incorrectly.
I want to then use the details in the content area to trigger spry tooltips, the content for whih would be genereated from an XML file or HTML frags.
Here is my latest, ill-fated attempt:

I apologize, im using Spry XML Data Set. i guess the best way to describe what im trying to do is, i want to use the Non-desctructive filter sample with the Spry Nested XML Data sample. So with my sample xml on my first post and with the same code non-destructive filter is using, im having trouble trying to search repeating nodes, for some reason it only searches the last node of the repeating nodes. Does that make sense? let me know.

Cfsearch, working with files and data

I am using cfsearch and was wondering how I can search on 2 fields, ie the file itself and a custom field?
so criteria="*#searchText#* OR CF_CUSTOM1 = *#searchText#*", but that is not working...so need help
If I use : criteria="*#searchText#*" it will search through the file fine, but I need to also get a custom field into the search

Traditionally reading from and writing to is using URL to read and URL to POST data to
the webserver for writing.
If you want to read/write to local filesystem you have to sign the applet or set up a policy
for it.
Does Allpermission to all code help (add that to THE java.policy in the "grant {" section)?
Because if that didn't help it's not the sandbox security that causes the exception.
Don't think you should add a keystore to THE java.policy (in the lib/security dir). Never
seen a SUN example do that.
Did you add the location of your policy ifle to your java.security?

Working with "true anything" data

Hi guys,
Sorry to bother you but I have an issue I want to get some feedback on;
While doing the logger for my application, I wanted to be able to send in all types of data from all over to it, then just save it. Of course we could just do it with a normal variant, but that would mean making a bunch of cases for when we want to recuperate the original data - not the most elegant approach, even more so if you wanted to make the Logger a universal VI, to be used in any application..
I hope I haven't lost you thus far;
So I was thinking about the following: instead of just converting it to a variant, we also take a pointer (Data Value Reference -DVR, I guess) and build a cluster/array of the 2 things. When we want to reconstruct the data, we would use the DVR that was passed along and voila.
"Works" in theory, but my problem is the Void Wire, that makes this impossible to be called. Well, I'm sending you the VI attached so I'm sure you'll understand it immediately when you have a look.
If I wasn't clear enough please let me know, and I apologize in advance for my labview "noobness" since I only really got into it in the last couple of months but it would be awesome if this could work. Next I'm looking into putting everything into a single variant and scanning the variant for the Data Value Reference field, jsut to let you know.

Working with dimensions in data forms

I am creating a data form in one of my classic planning application, using Hyperion 11.1.2.
Suppose i have two custom dimensions with two members in each of them:
Dim1 (Mem1, Mem2)
Dim2 (Mem3, Mem4)
Now i place both of above dimension at column level in my dataform and its looks like the following

Where as i want to have Mem3 and Mem4 under Mem1 only, which will look like this

Is there any way to achieve that?
Secondly, if i chek "Place each member in separate column" while selecting the members of Dim1, then the above structure looks like"

Hi,
all data exists at the intersection of all dimensions - so I do not see how your form would work without certain dimensions.
However, you may want to create certain 'non-members' like 'NoPeriod', 'NoEntity' if for some reason you need data that exists without reference to these dimensions. (You would still have to select them in your form design)
What are you trying to achieve with regards to your second question - is this just presentational?

Working with raw Microphone data...

so I'm creating an audio recorder and I'm writing the floats from the SampleDataEvent to a byteArray. Everything works fine locally, but we need to store these files on our server. I have tried to use Sound.load with the url of the byteArray however I get an IO Error which I assume is prob. because this file is not an mp3. What I need to do is either find out what type of file the byteArray actually is, so that we can have our backend re-encode from this file type to an mp3, or I need to convert on the front end, to an mp3 and just send that new byteArray along. I found Thibalt's WaveEncoder library, but this encodes to Wav files, not mp3's. Any help or suggestions out there about how to resolve this issue?

It is not in a popular format. It is simply RAW audio data in FLOATS.
A WAV file is really a container, not a format in it self, it can store multiple types of formats, with or without compression.
Do note the second sentence. A good part of audio conversion tools expect raw audio data to be in integers, while the raw data that you get from the mic is actually in FLOAT, which is not the same a DOUBLE. Flash's Number is a Double.
You also have to be carefull with Endianes of your ByteArray, as this is also very important.
