Working with Windows sharing files on MAC disk

Hi
I use more often the MAC OS, but i need sometimes to work with windows XP because of 3DStudio.
i'm using Mac disk to save all my files, but since i need to boot in Windows to get more results i can't get acess to the Mac disk! there is any solution? At the moment i'm using parallels!
i want to know if there is any simple way to share files (read and save) when i'm working in windows boot?

Install MacDrive on the Windows install or format the drive as FAT.

Working with Windows offline files

Hello,
I'm desperately trying to make Adobe bridge and other applications work faster on our company's graphics design team's computer. They work with files off a company NAS drive and loading and saving files is slow. I've enabled Windows offline files for the entire folder containing their work and synchronised it to a test computer; all their files are now also stored locally. However, they're reporting that Bridge loads even slower than before. I'm out of ideas; those files need to be available to all 3 members of our design team but I still need to make loading and working with said files faster.
Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone else tried adobe products with Windows offline files?

Working with Windows Media Files

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a catologue of 55 webinars that have been recorded over the past 3 years for a client. They were archived as wmv. files and the quaility is very good. They have an issue with the title slides and some audio at the end of the presentations and I am looking for a way to edit these files. I have FCP and it not going to work. I am looking for something that hopefully does not have to render the originals on the timeline.
Does Premiere Elements allow you to edit wmv as a native file format? Or does anyone know of a third party utility that will allow me to do the edits. Thanks.

Is it safe to assume that you are on a Mac?
First, WMV is a format, that is very heavily-compressed Though PrE on a PC can Import them, there is a lot of processing that is required. I always convert to DV-AVI (on my PC for SD material), and then Import those.
For a Mac, I am not sure what is required to handle, and convert a WMV to probably a MOV file, but am sure that others can make Mac recs. for this. I do know that on a PC, QuickTime Pro (US $ 29 upgrade/unlock) can do a lot of conversions, but do not know about WMV's on a Mac.
Wish that I had more useful info, but others will probably to give you some good input for the Mac.

Formatting Mac HDD to work with windows files/applications

I was thinking of partitioning the hardrive and formatting one partition whatever way I would need to in order to use it like a Windows computer, because I really have no use for my Mac, if I cant get it to run many applications that are windows exclusive. However I would need to send for the Tiger startup disk, and I dont want to pay for it unless I'm sure that this is even possible, and I want to know what I am doing
Anyway I dont really know that much about macs, so exactly what do I need, and what do I need to do, for it to work with windows/PC files and applications?
And My Harddrive has a total of 9.5 GB, and only four GB of free space (I dont even have anything on the computer, so I don't know what is taking so much space) is that enough space to do whatever it is i'm talking about?

virtual PC is pretty slow, I wouldn't really recommend it at this point on an old iMac. maybe for really light duty things. Frankly, you're probably better off just selling, donating or getting rid of it and getting a cheap PC. a cheap PC is a cheap PC, and in my opinion very inferior to the mac, but it will run windows much faster.
Or just use it as a mac. A mac can do just about anything a windows box can, and is usually more reliable. Files can be read without problems in most cases. Give it a shot.

Working with HD m2ts files to get best video out burned on disk.

Working with m2ts video files, how to get best video output. I have Pinnacle 12U and the video picture that is produced on a burned disk is much better then what is produced in Adobe Premieme PRO CS4. I would like to continue to use Premieme Pro, but unless I can archive at least the same quality of video it would be hard to make the switch. I must be missing something??? HELP!!

More input, the media file output is VTS.VOB format from Adobe and from Pinnacle it is m2ts. When you stop the playback m2ts is real sharp and the the VOB is not as clear. During the playback the m2ts disk is so much better than the Adobe VOB format.
Does anyone know if this is the best format that Adobe can produce? It's a shame that with the great High Definition picture that you can now get out of a personal movie camera, that Adobe cannot produce the same quality picture out on disk!!

Lumia 920 Internet Sharing not working with Window...

I am unable to get Internet Sharing to work from a nokia Lumia 920 to Dell XPS running Windows 8 with Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030. Help !!
Things I have tried:
+ Checked the phone was actually working with Internet sharing: Different laptop running Winows XP connected fine, everything worked
+ Checked the Dell XPS could connect to inernet sharing using an HTC One as the hot spot: everything worked fine.
+ Tried turning on FIPS: made no difference:
+ Tried updating/different drivers: made no difference
+ Tried turning of N, and only using g: made no difference
+ Tried different access point settigns on the phone: made no difference
This is one of those things I expect to just work, like it does when the phoen is used with a different laptop, or when a different phone is used with this laptop.
I've run out of ideas. Any help appreciated.

Finally fixed it. First I tried using the latest Intel drivers, but to no avail. So I did a driver rollback, and that seems to be working. Driver version now at 14.2.1.3, Microsoft release.
So problem is a compaitibility issue with the drivers on the windows laptop. All I can advise others having similar problems is keep trying different drivers (newest not necessarily the best)

Will itunes 11 work with windows xp, I have ended up with this neqw version and it doesn't work , I can look at my library ,but not play and since synching my ipod it is now empty. Apple support is useless, they treat me like I'm on a Mac not a PC .

Working with converted .mov files in Premiere Elements 2

I recently got a digital camera that records .mov clips with H.264 technology. I use it for back up when Im having problems with my regular camcorder. Of course I can work with these .mov files in QuickTime Pro with no problem. But in order to work with them in Premiere Elements 2, it appears I have to export it into the .avi format first. After exporting in QuickTime Pro, when I bring the new .avi file up into Premiere Elements, the color quality is retained, but much of the resolution is lost. Its very pixelated. I understand that .avi and .mov work differently in the way information is stored avi in chunks and mov in streams, but Im wondering if there is a way I can work around this. The reason why I got QuickTime Pro initially was to be able to convert my finished .avi videos made in Premiere Elements 2 into MPEG-4 files using the H.264 codec for better quality. And Im doing that all the time now with no problem. So I am wondering if when I reconvert the .mov clip thats been converted into .avi back into mpeg-4, will the resolution be restored? That is part of my question. The other part is regarding the initial conversion process. Are there settings in QuickTime Pro for converting .mov to .avi with as little loss in resolution as possible? The manual doesnt address this issue specifically. Any ideas or suggestions? OS is Windows XP Media Center edition, computer Sony Vaio dual processor. Thanks, Judy

Hi again Steve. I'm so embarrassed. After my initial reply to your message I went to the Adobe site to see if they even made Premiere for Mac and learned they don't. I also read a review in Wired that says Premiere 6 is just as good if not better than iMovie which they say has actually been downgraded. I'm using Premiere 2, so I thought I might consider upgrading. Then I watched "Steve's Story" and realized it was you. (Your daughter is a cutie! Adobe must love you.) So my question is this: Would my problem be solved by simply upgrading to Premiere 4? If I do that, would it be compatible with regard to catalog integration with Photoshop Elements 4 or would I have to upgrade to Elements 6? If I upgraded the whole package would my current Photoshop Elements 4 catalog transfer with all tags intact? This is vital for me to know because I rely on them heavily. I realize that I would be skipping a version in the upgrade. Is that possible? Does that matter? Please read my reply to Bill because it explains why I want to use those particular .mov files. Another question for you. I use your excellent book a lot. If I upgrade will it become useless? Finally, since you're the expert, let me tell you what I'm really aiming for and get your advice. I need to start composing my own musical soundtracks to my videos. I want to do it as I'm viewing the timeline. Therefore, I know I need to invest in a midi-capable keyboard or controller and software. The problem is that there are few controllers compatible with Windows XP Media Center Edition. I am told I would need to disable the XP Media Center registry keys for anything to work which wouldn't matter because I don't use Media Center features anyway (like TV hookup, media player, etc.). But messing with the registry sounds a little complex and dangerous to me. There's got to be an easier way. Do you have any advice or recommendations? Can you point me to any helpful resources? Now you see why I want a Mac? Everyone says all this kind of stuff would be so much easier with a Mac. Problem is I have a limited budget and would like to make the most with what I have. New computer wqith Windows 7 - Does iTunes work with Windows 7

I downloaded iTunes 9 and tried to upload my 1st CD and it never got passed a few seconds of upload before it froze up. I tried another CD and the same thing happened. So I uninstalled 9 and tried iTunes 8 because I was more familiar with that. The first CD uploaded the 1st song and then froze up. The song played quite well but I couldn't get passed the 1st song. Does iTunes work with Windows 7? TY in advance.

No it runs just fine on Win 7 64 bit so your problem isn't that.
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and use this : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 to make sure you get all of the old install.
Make sure you run disk clean up when your done so that there are no temp files around when you try with the fresh install.
Now, making sure your using the admin account and that you've disabled any security software, try again with the new download

I studied the system requirements for the ipod nano and there was written, that I need a WinXP with SP2 for it.
Because I use Sound-Software that only works with Windows XP SP1 I have to keep this system, and I now would like to know if that works. Could anyone answer this question??
