Workitem format-task descrp:comment, bold, underline, modlog, tab,imm. line

Hi All,
How do I insert a modlog or a comment line in the task description of a workflow step? This needed, as in the case of reports or any development, to later know the TR, person who developed, date,description of functionality,etc,...
Like in SAP Script editor, " /* " wouldnot work in task description. If you give /* (comment) it would still display the tet in the SAP Inbox(SBWP).
Is it possible to give a text in bold, underline it, give a tab space for paragraph formats.
Also if I try to give a new immediate line using / or * , sometimes it takes in the same line continuously.
I want:
Line1
Line2
and give in the editor as:
/ Line1
/ Line2
But it comes as:
Line1Line2
I am not able to create new paragragh formats, or character formats, or change tab positions in the exisitng para formats.
SAP Workflow task editor behaves very much different from
SAPscript(infact, strange) in that in doesnot support many of the basic functions.

MDT 2012, Task Sequence Comments, can I change to have line breaks?

I added comments to a few Task Sequences. They all run into each other, I'd like to be able to type a sentence, press enter, then put another, but when I do this, that's not how it looks in LiteTouch.vbs.

I wanted to do the same thing and could not come up with a nice way to do it. Ended up using the hidden character Alt+0160 to space it out. Looks good now but took some trial and error to get it all lined up.

Me to with BT Yahoo! Mail since 15 DEC 13; about a month after Windows Update installed IE11 in my W7 HP. Prior to that with IE11, Mail had capriciously logged out: But I could log back in.
No formatting has continued despite two lengthy sessions with BT technicians. The first, 'phone and screen, concluded I must live with it. In the second, a month later, 'phone only, I was requested to uninstall IE11 and found formatting was OK in IE8 to which W7 reverts. But it was US when I reinstalled IE11. In a 'phone back I was told no one else had reported this and a new email program was several months away! I am loath to revert to IE8, 9 or 10. What has BT got against IE11?
I post now because BT's log in page is advertising IE11. And I don't like using Google Chrome when I need formats. Formatting looks OK here; bold, italic and underline. Hotmail is OK too.

Printing document with Notes/Comments and underlined/highlighted text

Dear all,
I have been reading a document and highlighted & underlined parts of it.
In addition I also inserted notes.
Now when trying to print the document with the "summarize comments function" (I translate this from the
german version so there it might be called somewhat differently in english) in the print menue, I receive a the
original document plus attached several pages including my notes (now numbered) PLUS entries for every line I highlighted, underlined etc.
Evidently I only want the text of my comments, not empty entries for each line I have highlighted.
To be clear, I would like to keep the text highlighted / underlined - but I don't need the
entries for that in the appended section. A document of 18 pages otherwise suddently gets 48 pages...(with only
a few added notes).
I have to say I am somewhat puzzled how difficult it is to sort this out. Thought that must be
something rather trival (or am I blind and make a silly mistake)?

many thanks for your swift response. Did I understand you correctly - there is no way to keep all the comments (underlined/highlighted/stick notes) in the text and only inlcude the content of the sticky notes at the end of the document? If I filter, as suggested by you, then the underlined/highlighted parts will not show up in the appended pages (that's good) - but they are also not longer visible in the main text (that's bad...).
I would have thought what I am trying is rather ordinary - Highlighting/underlining text and adding comments. And when I print the document, i would like to get the edited text plus the content of the comments (sticky notes). (And not an empty entry for all highlighted/underlined words). I am somewhat puzzled.

CF8 cfdocuments new bugs (font size, bold, underline...)

I face the following problems after upgrading from CF 7.0.2
to CF8 + Cumulative Hotfix 1 :
- bold and underline generates white space around them if
they are embedded in a sentence (i.e "this is <bold>bold text
</bod> and it is fun")
- font size behavior has changed, the text is now bigger. (My
font-size: 12px is bigger than before)
- when reducing it (i.e font-size: 11px) the bold/underline
problem becomes the opposite : instead of white space, I have
overlapping texts.
We use a html 4.01 transitional doctype and CSS styles (i.e
div class="myclass" and .myclass{..} in a separate css file)
Any suggestion ?

Making some words Bold/Underlined of an editable text field in Adobe Form?

I have a a requirement of making some words Bold/Underlined of an editable text field in Adobe Form. I have created a "Text Field" and in "Value" tab as default value I have written the textline and made the field Type as "User entered - optional" so that at runtime user can edit that text. Now they want some words of the whole text line should display as Bold and some as Underlined. Can you please help me to meet this requirement.

Just an idea, but you might try re-printing that original PDF file to the Adobe PDF printer (saving it as another pdf file, essentially). Then try again to add form fields. (You can copy the form fields you've already created and paste them onto the new file -- just copy and paste while in forms edit mode). A second shot in the dark if the first doesn't work might be to try again, but change the print settings when printing to PDF. I've ready some reports that the dpi setting can have an effect. Maybe go from 600 to 150 and see if that works. Let me know which, if either, of these ideas works.

How do I get the bold, underline, italics editing option for Notes on iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.4? Option is not appearing when I select text.

When I select text, I don't get an arrow with additional options. What is shown in the image are the only options I get. Is there something I need to do in Settings or something in order to be able to bold, underline and italicize text?

I only have an iPod (but it does have the latest software) but I achieved bold text as follows:
1) touch and hold word to embolden;
2) touch Select;
3) touch the arrow head at the right;
4) touch BIU option section of the option bar;
5) touch the Bold section of the option bar.
Having selected the text, the selection can be narrowed or widened using the blue dot. Also, the Bold, Italics and Underline option bar does not disappear once a section has been made, thus bold and underline can be chosen - touch elsewhere on the screen to remove the option bar. When the selected option bar section background turns grey the software has accepted your request. Note that a first go at achieving this might not work if the software has not correctly picked up your touch and may not present you with the correct options - it is intuitively trying to help you and sometimes misunderstands your touch.

I have an original iPad and downloaded the new operating system. Now' I cannot write on my Contacts or Calendar apps, and my Pages app (purchased) has lost the ability to use the bold, underline, and italics functions. Does anyone know how to fix these

No, it stays with the current OS (iOS5 in this case) - Apple doesn't allow downgrading iOS
If you are syncing to a desktop, you shoudln't lose anything. If you aren't syncing, then that's the first thing you should do, to protect contacts etc.
the other thing is, when the iPad is connected to iTunes, right-click its name in the Devices list and choose Back Up.
That way, when yoiu do the restore, everything should come back as was.

How to print both normal and bold data in a single line

I have requirement wherin the data need to be displayed in a single line.
FAX: Z8525_text.
where FAX needs to be in bold and Z8525_text is a standard text and it shoould not be bold , both of this needs to be displayed in
a single line.
Can you let me know how to print both normal and bold data in a single line one of which is coming fro standard text.

Hi Senthil,
If you are using smartforms, have a character format created for BOLD and apply it to the text you want to highlight. The remaining text of the line could be applied with a Character format which is not highlighted.

Win7 "Task Manager" has lost its header tabs

Somehow the task manager has lost the header tabs to move from applications to processes to network. It was there originally.
I also lose from time to time my volume control icon, and it doesn't become hidden, it just disappears completey. To change the volume I have to either go into the control panel/sound and then adjust the volume and leave that open if I need to turn it down. OR reboot and it sometimes comes back.
When I go to 'notification Icons" in control panel the icon and lettering for sound icon is not bold or high lighted but instead it is diminished. I have also seen a popup stating that modification will take affect when it (the sound) is activated as a pop up, but can't remember where I saw that happen.
Another question I have is...
Ihave only one machine, my C:drive has Vista ultimate, all important files are on E,F HD's, removable, or external drives. I downloaded Win7 and burned a disk.
I removed the 40Gig C: with Vista put a 250Gig drive in that location and installed Win7. So far so good and am very pleased with everything even with a few bugs.
Now I needed to go back to the Vista drive, so I removed the Win7 drive, reinstalled the 40Gig as C and received a prompt stating that ? win logon was not found. So I got the Vista DVD and did a repair which worked. If Win7 doesn't get an update to operate past August 1st and I go back to the 40Gig Vista drive will that happen again? AND where does that file get stored when you originally install? Does it go into the bios chip? Only becasue when I went back to the Win7 HD I got virtually the same prompt for that other drive.
I am in the process of building another machine, but because the computer I'm currently using is antiquated in comparrison and all new parts are required except for the chasis the cost is setting me back a bit. Maybe when I do get everything I'll be able to do a dual OS, but for now I have what I have. Computer is an old dual xeon with ata drives going on 7yrs old, but has been a work horse and needs to go to pasture.

In addition to what Techoutsider said, you can open the Notification Area Icons control panel item and you can try clicking the "Restore default icon behavior" link near the bottom of the window and see if that fixes the MIA volume control.
Your issue with swapping the hard drives may have something to do with the BIOS. Namely, it may not have correctly registered the replaced drive the first time you rebooted. You may want to try going in and making sure that it's where it should be in the pecking order. If it's expecting the 40 GB HDD, and it suddenly finds a 250 GB HDD, that could be the reason why you're having difficulty booting. Simply removing the drive and swapping it out should not cause it to become unbootable unless something changed within the BIOS settings. Given the drives you've got there aren't identical, there may be an issue with the BIOS not finding the correct drive. Make sure you update the BIOS settings by going in and then saving while exiting.
For the record, NO OS writes ANYTHING directly to the BIOS. The exceptions to this would be the utilities you get with your motherboard that allow you to tweak settings (overclock) your components - such as Nvidia's NTune applet. All Windows files get written to the hard drive. As long as you didn't change anything, it should be able to find everything as it was the last time the hard drive was plugged in.
According to rumors and such, there should be an RC build available almost any time now. There have been rumors to April 10th - or 1 week from this writing - and there have been rumors to some time in May.

Char. formats(Bold, Underline) in Long text editor not visible in ABAP WD

Hi ABAP experts,
Problem:
I have created long text with using bold and under line formats in long text editor (FM TEXT_ EDIT). I am trying to show same text in WebDynpro using READ_TEXT FM. But FM READ_TEXT is getting long text with HTML tags as shown below for bold and underline and it long text showed as same in WebDynpro application with HTML tags.

The normal text editor in Web Dynpro won't handle HTML tags (they get safe encoded as you described). In NetWeaver 7.01 we do introduce a FormattedTextEditor that allows for such formatting. There are APIs to convert from SAPScript based texts to the XHTML FormattedText tags.

Parallel task for comments

Hi,
Is is possible to create a parallel task to let a few user enter comments while the workflow is still running and tasks being completed by other users ? (I mean the users who receive the comment task in their SAP inbox does not block the rest of the WF and wether they have completed their task or not, others can still perform their decision task)
Where would the comments be stored in that case ?

Hello,
You'd have to decide beforehand who can add the comments - they will be the ones receiving the workitem.
The commnts can be stored in the workflow container, or the users could add attachments. In both cases you could have the workflow do something with them at the end (eg send them somewhere).
You could have a 1-from-2 fork, one with the comments and one with the rest of the workflow. The comments branch could loop around, waiting each time for more comments.

Escape sequence for Bold, underline etc.

We are on EBS 11.5.10 using XML publisher to generate our Purchase orders. On the purchase orders we use standard functionality attachments type short text to specify special instructions etc. on the printed purchase order report. Some of these attachments may have a heading that should be in bold and some may not.
Is there a way to include an escape/formatting sequence in the short text attachment, to control the formatting of the text directly?

I doubt you can use Esc sequences inserted in the text to achieve this. Here is a work around. Use some kind of markup to indicate bold header in the text, if any. For example, use tags and . Then in the data model have two formula columns that would parse the text looking for the header and for the body. The first formula would return the header to be in bold (if any found), the second formula would return text to be printed plain. Then in the layout create two fields, and map then to the columns. The first field to be formatted as bold.

Problem passing comments between human tasks - InputText Comment Invisible

I want to pass the comments between three human tasks, i discover that it to works if i check reinitiate checkbox
and link all human tasks with the antecedent.
But, now i have another issue: When i create in the new button in the second human task, the inputText comment is invisible, see the image bellow:

Hi,
I resolve partially this issue.
Was a problem in my pageDef.xml. It works and now the inputText is visible.
The only problem now is: when i make a CLAIM in the second human task, the filed comments is cleaned and the previous comments is losted.
Why i have to do for comments don't disappear when i make a CLAIM ?

The approach involves an explicitly configured attributeValues binding to use in f:validator and af:convertDateTime components in the af:inputDate in the filter facet, as discussed in the forum thread "af:table filter date format"

First a short summary of relevant aspects of service request 3-2190488381:
- development has reviewed bug 10193260
- development identified some code where a pattern was not applied and started fixing the problem
- out of the blue, development asked "Will clearing out the filter field completely when moving out of ataskflow be an acceptable behavior ?"
- I pointed out some concerns (even in a phone call with development), but development did not see any alternative not "perceived to be very risky because of the current design", so the question whether the clearing-all-filter-fields approach would be acceptable became superfluous.
- following this, bug 10193260 suddenly became an enhancement request (for reasons I still don't understand)
- a workaround was suggested (for behaviour not perceived as a bug), "Clearing the search fields during taskflow exit in the backing bean (in the app)." for which I also received a modified version of my example application TableFilterDateFormatIssueApp-v0.04.zip with an implementation of the suggested workaround
As an exercise to try an understand the suggested workaround (an because my example application seemed to have been modified using the currently yet-to-be-released JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0) I re-implemented it in the example application

As there can be multiple view activities with multiple filtered tables in a bounded task-flow, would that result in multiple method-call activities responsible for clearing search fields (all to be called before each task-flow-return activity)?
It looks like a more general/generic approach is desirable for the suggested workaround to be feasible.
- (q5) Does the suggested workaround imply (as bug 10193260 is not a bug) that all bounded task-flows with filtered tables should implement it to avoid errors about formatting?
