Worklfow approval in ECC5

Hi All
We have a requirement of approval of workflow from mobile phone. Is it possbile in ECC5?. i know its possible in ECC6. And also approval can be done in Iphone(i know blackberry is possible). If possible what is patch level and supporting note no and supporting doucmnet would be help to share with the client.

We are already having workflow approval in R/3 where it happening from SAP inbox now my client want to migrate to mobile phone. Its it possible from ECC5 we dont have portal. How to implement it. Do we need to install any 3rd party like sybase or other. The main module is MM and PS and also they should be online always ie latest data should send and should update immediately ie should be syn with R/3. How it can be achieved. Configure Managers Approval of Overtime in ECC5

Hi,
I'm trying to find where I can configure the columns for the managers approval of overtime view in the backend for ECC5.
The IMG path in ECC6 Time sheet>Setting for all user interfaces>Approval procedure>Approve working times> Define field selection for Individual approval view, doesn't appear to exist in ECC5.
Any help appreciated.

When the manager opens the overtime approval item, it displays the Sender Cost Centre, I need to display the Receiver Cost Centre and not the Sender Cost Centre.

Try this:
IMG->Integration with Other mySAP.Com Components->Business Packages/Functional Packages->Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP)->Working Time->Approve Working Time->Define Field Selection from Individual Approval View
Alternatively use SM34 and go to view cluster VC_PT_FIELD_SELECTION and enter the screen area as CTS.

SRM Invoice Approval worklfow problem

Hi All,
I have customized 2 step invoice workflow in SRM, only to the extent , as to determine agents as per custom rules.
The problem I am facing is , once first level approver approves the invoice from the task list i.e without going to details screen, work item is going to second level approver.
However if first level approver uses option of radio button Approve or reject from details screen,
Changed event of Invoice is getting raised and worklfow is getting termined and a new workflow is started.
Has somebody faced this issue?
If so, pls suggest the course of action. I thought, for only clicking approval radio button and pressing save button, changed event should not be triggered.

Hi Akshay,
Had something similar a couple of years ago in the old EBP3. We ended up creating a check function module to interrogate the circumstances of the event and determine whether to start a new workflow, or do nothing if an appropriate instance existed.
If nothing better springs to mind this method will work.

i have used standard workflow : WS20000040 for travel expenses, i can able to trigger the event when travel expense form created and also i can approve the trip,but i want to know whether it's really got approved or not,please let me know how to check it, whether it is getting updated in any table after approving ..

It has all the trip status updation and one of the important table for all travel related standard reports.
The fields are :
ANTRG ANTRG CHAR 1 0 Travel Request or Trip Approved (Indicator) Travel Request status
ABREC ABREC CHAR 1 0 Open / To be Settled / Settled (Indicator) Travel settlement status.

Assigning a task based on an approval workflow

Hello,
Is there a way to create a workflow that includes the following steps without coding:
1. A user submits an IT service request.
2. The request is approved by a Supervisor.
3. The IT Manager assigns the request to a technician.
4. The technician completes the request and attaches the appropriate documentation to the request.
5. The IT Manager sends the completed work to the user.

The following extention for the Workflow Activities available in SharePoint Designer will allow you to create one or more workfows that satisfy your requirements:

The worklfow would be configured to start when a new item is added to the list / library, which would assign an approval task (or collect approval status) from the approver (Supervisor).
After the manager assigns the request to a technician and the technician completes the request, the manager may want to confirm/close the request. this would allow the worklfow to continue and/or respond by sending the completed work to the user.
You can either "Collect data from a user" to obtain the "User" to assign the request, have the workflow "Wait for a field change" to obtain the assign to user, as well as other alternatives to get the Assign To details for each
step of the process. A separate field for each would probably be more suitable than re-assigning the task using the same "Assigned To" field each time, as the details each participant will be captured (not an issue if using the "Collect
data from a user" action, as the Assigned To information will be available in the task item created by the workflow).
The custom activities above allow you to do the following, which may assist with your solution:
Specify the sender of an email
Attach list items as email attachments
Without the custom activities, you could develop a similar solution, but you won't be able to attach list items (include links instead), or specify the sender. The approval and request delegation process can be achieved using OOB Workflow Activities
available in SharePoint Designer.

Calling the Adobe form in a workflow step for Approval

Hi All,
We are creating a PCR scenario using Adobe forms for "Employee seperation". This form will require 7 subsequent approvals from various agents which is to be handled using a workflow.
I had gone through the ISR cookbook and managed to create a scenario. I have also assigned it to a PDF form and a dummy workflow. Now from my PCR iview i am able to submit the form for my scenario which also triggers the dummy workflow(through the BUS7051-CREATED event).
Right now this dummy workflow just sends a mail(by sendmail step) to the first approver. Now i want this workflow to send a workitem to the first approver for approval of this form which will have to appear in his UWL. When the approver double clicks on the workitem in UWL he should be able to view the form along with Approve/Reject/Cancel buttons. I am not aware how to do this. My questions are,
Is this handled by a decision step or an activity?
If it is an activity step which Task/Business object method is used to handle this?
If it is a decision step how do we make the Adobe form also to be displayed along with approve/Reject buttons?
We are using ECC5.0 and EP6.0.

The UWL issue has been resolved now and i am receiving the workitems in my UWL. But i am getting the following error when i am trying to execute the workitem from my UWL.

Portal Runtime Error in Compensation Approval(ECM)

Hello Experts,
The below error is from Compensation Process(ECM) .
We are getting portal runtime error when we click on Compensation Approval and this error only comes under Approve/reject Column ,Rest of the column comes blank but with no error.
In HR box, Approve/reject column refers EC_APPREJ (Approve/Reject) under some table V_T71ADM*.
We have only changed the Compensation Approval view parameter(CREVI) that will refers to corresponding R3 tables compensation year.

Bid not getting approved

Hi,
We are on SRM SERVER 550, SP06 with R/3 ECC5.0 backend.
I have activated WS79000010 - WF without approval for bid with the appropriate start conditions.
When the vendor submits the bid, the bidder is able to view and accept the bid. But once he accepts the bid, the status shows 'Awaiting approval' in the overview as well as Status tab (in bid).
The status tab shows
Complete
Created
Bid submitted
Awaiting Approval
whereas the approval preview of bid shows 'No Approval Required '.
Also when I tried to check BBP_PD for the bid number, under WF item tab it shows 'No workflow item found'..
What could be the problem?

Looks like the 'set released' method is not done for the particular document.
please perform the following steps.
1. check the workflow log and find out wether the 'setreleased' method is done for the document.
2.if it is not done , you have to execute the 'setreleased' method for the document manually.
3. then check the status of the document.

Additional approval/release step req in WF20000397 (Rel. prc. blocked inv)

Hi Workflow Experts,
I am curretnly using SAP standard WF 20000397 for the release of (price) blocked invoices. The concept behind this wf is the following: Starting event is IncomingInvoice.blockedPrice (BOR is BUS2081). The system then determines the purchasing group entered in the purchase order an sends the workitem to the assigned users of the respective purchasing group. The receivers can than clarify the blocking reason and either mark invoice as not clarifiable or release the invoice. The WF ends then.
Problem/requirement: Due to compliance the puchasing group should not be able to release a vendor invoice for which they were the responsible purchasers. However, those guys are the one with the most knowledge about the purchase and therefore best capable of clarifying differences with the vendor.
The idea now would be to let them clarify things and do a first "release" and add another final release step after this task that is done by some superior. However, I have no idea how to solve this problem.

You can put some condition in workflow which will check if approver was involved in purchasing. In case yes then go for 2 level approval - 1st level by purchaser and 2nd level by superior. In case no then complete worklfow after 1st level of approval only.

Employee termination workflow ECC5.0

Hi Everybody,
We have a requirement to do a workflow for employee termination approval in HR. We are on ECC5.0. Manager will have to propose the termination, an approver will have to approve and then HR Admin will review the info and then the database gets updated.
Has anybody implemented this kind of employee termination workflow in ECC5.0? I would like to know if there is any standard template/ business object etc..or any other useful information.

I am wondering for implementing this workflow if we need to develop the screens, business objects, workflow every thing custon from scratch or do we have any thing standard where we can start from.

Approval Preview for EBP Workflow

Hi,
As per my understanding approval preview is not possible for complex operations like "loops" for EBP/SRM worklfow. Pls. let me know opinion on this.
(If anybody has worked on including loop operations in SRM approval workflow pls. let me know the inputs.)

Hi, I have actived the WF 14000044 Completion of shopping cart by purchaser (requester view) AND the WF 14000109 Approval n-step over Value Limit and a I got error message: Approval workflow is ambiguous

It seems for a particular condition,both the workflows are getting triggered for the event "SC CREATED"..Hence the message...
Please check the start conditions for both the WF's.They should be unique.i.e. Under which case the corresponding worklfow should be triggered should be definate.

Quick / Direct Approval not possible for Bid Approval

Dear Friends,
The Direct Approval/Rejection buttons are disabbled while approving Bid in managers Approval inbox.
Is this a standard functionality? that the manager has to get in the Bid details and then Approve or Reject the Bid.
However the same manager can approve Shopping Cart by just pressing Direct Approval / Rejection button in the Approval Tab list.

Just go in tcode SWL1.There for the BID approval task(see the task no in the worklfow) maintain the entry for Attributes EC_DECISION and EC_MAIL and then the icons will appear.
