Worklist - Manage Rules

While trying to manage rules, it appears that they only apply to incoming tasks.
For example, if I want to reassign all tasks from user1 to user2, I set up the rule for user1. If I go look at the existing tasks for user1, user1 still has all the tasks assigned to it. However, if a new task is assigned to user1, the task is then reassigned to user2 just fine.
Is there a way to enforce rules for existing tasks? I have tried setting "Rule should only apply from" which does not seem to enforce the rule on existing tasks with the time frame.
Also, delegating a view is not a viable option, since the requirement is to take away all responsibility from the original user.
Thanks,
Guhn

Hi.
Any suggestions?

  • Best way to manage rules?

I have just maxed out the rules for iCloud (99 rules allowed). On the Mac you can have more complex rules so you can have one rule that says basically if I get an e-mail from (Lands End, L.L. Bean, Amazon, etc) file the e-mail into my "Stores" folder. However on iCloud rules you need one rule for each store. I prefer using iCloud for the rules so they are sorted before they get to my Mac. This way they are sorted if I check my mail from an iPad or another Mac or on the Web. However, I didn't know until this morning that iCloud has a limit of 99 rules. So now I need to decide what is the best way to adjust.
So my question here is how do you manage rules to sort e-mail?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Winston,
This is true if your main computer is always on and connected to the internet. However where I live currently we have frequent power outages and internet connectivity issues. Some of these problems require my to restart routers in order to fix the problem. However, if I am traveling away from home I am not able to do this. In a case like this if my rules are on my main Mac at home and I am checking e-mail from an iPad of Macbook Pro on the road no rules will run.
    Thanks.
Anyone else have thoughts on this?

  • Worklist Manager SE

We are working on a project based on OpenESB with NetBeans as IDE and one of the main goals is to involve human interaction in processes using some sort of specialized component (so not just by invoking a receive activity from a user interface). We've discovered that there is already a JBI component which can do exactly what we want - the Worklist Manager SE.
I was expecting the developement tool for this module to be officialy included with the recent 6.0 release of NetBeans, but it's not. I've tried to install the nbm files containing the Worklist Project plugin to NetBeans, but haven't found a way to do it since there was some *"module missing error" for xmlbeans*. I've downloaded the lastest OpenESB installer but it also doesn't work properly. The web application included is missing a package com.sun.workflow.client which I can't find anywhere and more importantly, when I rebuild the worklist project, the xform file is not correctly generated (there are no fields, just the Submit button).
I don't know if the JBI components developers are watching this forum, but it would be very useful for us if we could get in touch with someone who is working on the WLM SE module to learn more about the current state of this component. Perhaps we could also help to improve it during the developement of our project.
If someone is using or has tried to use this component with success I'd be very thankful if he can provide information about some functional version configuration for NetBeans & OpenESB. Best would be to find out how to develop a Worklist Application on the recent NetBeans 6.0 release.
Thanks anyone for answers, any help is very appreciated.

    hello Mei,
well, ok, previously, I tried using following the instructions but used a netbeans 6.5 daily build, and had problems.
this time, I am trying to follow the instructions more carefully, and I downloaded the openesb daily all in one build, and am trying to install it. (ie: openesb-installer-windows-20080929.exe)
upon execution of the install program, I see a dialog box saying that it could not find a suitable java JVM, and that I should use the --javahome option to specify the location of the jdk.  so I did.
I tried pointing it at the JDK6 install, and got an error dialog. I then installed (didn't have it installed until now) JDK5, but I still get the same dialog box mentioned earlier, where it shows:
    Unsupported Java VM version
The java VM at C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_16 has the unsupported version
I'm also using the --userdir option to keep the setup details distinct from any other netbeans install I have on the machine, which happens to be windows 2008 server x64.
note: as much as I'm pointing it at the x64 version of the jdk, I also have the 32bit jdk installed for JDK6, and it gave me the same sort of kickback.
    please advise.
    regards,
    peter.

  • Migrating Calc Manager Rules using LCM

    Hi,

  • Unable to deploy calc manager rule with Attributes in 11.1.2.1

I am unable to validate/deploy a calc manager rule in 11.1.2.1. This rule is also developed as a calc script and gets validated/executed successfully.
This is a custom currency conversion script
    Sample
    Jan (
    IF(@ISMBR(@ATTRIBUTE("b_CNY")))
    "USD" = "LocalCurrency" / "Avg_Rate"->"CNY" ;
    ELSEIF ......
    ELSEIF.....
    ENDIF
Does any one know if this a known bug ?
    Thanks

It used to be a bug that @attribute could not be validated, maybe worth checking the patches to see if it is fixed yet.
    Cheers

  • Apply For Job - Manager Rule

    Hello,
In irecruitment, to send a notification to the managers when an applicant applies for job, i'm using the seeded AME rule which is "Apply For Job - Manager Rule". When i test it going as an applicant and apply for a job, its not sending any notifications. After seeing the metalink note [ID 605603.1], i enabled the business event "oracle.apps.per.api.assignment.update_apl_asg" and tested but still the AME rule is not fired.
    Am i missing something here?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    KK

    Hi
There are bugs with certain iRec Notifications, Oracle asked us to implement the following steps to resolve the issue for the bug to which you refer too:
Add the below attributes to  Transaction type 'iRecruitment Notification Approvals' using 'Use Existing Attributes'  -
    USER_ID_EXISTS
    APPROVAL TYPE
    CURRENT_EMPLOYEE_FLAG
Create  New Condition: IRC_EVENT_NAME in (APLFORJOB) - as Vignesh outlined
Remove any existing conditions from Rule: "Apply For Job - Manager Rule" where the attributes are any of these: USER_ID_EXISTS; APPROVAL TYPE; CURRENT_EMPLOYEE_FLAG
Add new condition:  IRC_EVENT_NAME in (APLFORJOB)  to the 'Apply For Job - Manager Rule'
Ensure a Hiring Manager name exists in the vacancy which the Candidate is applying and retest the issue.
Also ensure either Workflow Background Process is run or System Profile: HR:Defer Update After Approval is set to No at Site/Responsibility Level.
    Hope this helps.

How can I add a message Attribute? example, Payment Method.
Can I add also from a DFF?
Any comment/suggestions are very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

You can create transfer rules in BI 7.0 also. But the prefered solution is to create tranformations:

  • How to disable Planning administrators and interactive users to create or edit calc manager rules in their application ?

    Hello,
According to the Calc Manager Designer Guide 11.1.2.3 and my testing :
    - Planning administrators can edit the calc manager rules deployed into their Planning application
    - Planning interactive users can create their own calc manager rules in their Planning application
But according to our IT governance, they should not be able to do it and specially in a production environment (and they were not able to do it in Planning 11.1.1 with HBR).
Any idea or trick to disable Planning administrators and interactive users to create or edit calc manager rules in their application ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Philippe

    Well as far i Know....
    - Planning administrators can edit the calc manager rules deployed into their Planning application ---Its aspected , as admin have to maintain the application and nothing wrong in that....
    - Planning interactive users can create their own calc manager rules in their Planning application--They can create thir own rules only when they have proper access to calc mgr..if you don't have given access to calc mgr then they can't.....
    Cheers!

  • 3000 Assignment manager rules and 3000 workflows

Our business have given 3000 Business rules for the routing purpose. To implement this we need to create 3000 assignement manager rules and 3000 workflows. I know that there is no limitation in SOD for creating Rules and workflows.
What i need to know , has anyone created so many Rules and workflows? If Yes , then was it all done manually?
    Thanks.
    S

What are the performance implications of Workflow Rules? ** Workflow Rules are evaluated in sequence and synchronously. Therefore, unless all the rules are evaluated, the overall update is not completed. This will add a certain amount of latency. For example, each task creation can add as much as 20% latency to an update and emails about 5%. Expressions take less time to evaluate. To minimize latency, add restrictive conditions and use workflows judiciously.

  • Loyalty Managment Rules

    Hi Experts,
We are implement SAP CRM Loyalty Management and I have a doubt about creating rules for loyalty program. Is It possible to see the fields of the Marketing Attributes from Business Partner when I creating these rules?
    Best Regards
    Rodrigo Lucas

    Hi Luis,
Based on this scenario, the key figures from BW will have to come in as Member Activities in CRM, and there can be rules to process the member activities to determine the points which can be earned.
Hope this helps - feel free to reach out to me for additional clarification.

  • Aren't Cocoa Memory Management Rules flawed?

I understand the details of Cocoa memory management but I'm wondering what's the rationale behind the usage of autorelease with convenience constructors.
The golden Cocoa rule is that factory methods send an autorelease message to objects prior to returning. But why is that? Why don't consider convenience constructors the same as alloc, newObject and the like?

Well, that's even worse: if you create several throwaways with autorelease, you're essentially delaying their releasing to the release of the autorelease pool, i.e., by default, when the application quits, unless you provide your own autorelease pool. It sill doesn't make any sense to me.
Stack based objects would have probably complicated the syntax of the language.

  • How can I delete Calc Manager Rules once they are deployed?

    Hello all,
I have a planning application (11.1.2.1) and I'm using the Calculation Manager. So, after I deploy a rule I'm able to delete it from calculation manager but the rule continues in my planning application. I'm using the classic application.
What should i do to delete this role from my planning application?
    Warm regards,
    Rafael Melo

    Hi,
Have you tried deploying all rules once again after deleting the rule?
In calc manager, right click on the applcation/database and select deploy (or deploy all) option.
    Cheers,
