Workouts keep ending for no reason

Ive been using the Nike+ for about 2 weeks now and my workouts keep randomly ending for no reason. After anywhere from .1 - 4 miles it will just stop and say workout complete. Then when I try to start again it tells me I need to connect the reciever even though i never removed it. I have to pull it out and put it back in again for it to recognize it. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

I have just started having this same problem. I exchanged my kit and am still experiencing difficulty. If you go back several pages on the message board, you will see a few threads with similar problems described. Unfortunately, I have not seen any sol'n yet, just hypotheses as to why it may be happening (heat, moisture, signal strength from the transmitter). I think it is none of these problems and will likely be solved with a software update from Apple, hopefully very soon! I am going to try running with the hold button on and see if that works, I'm also going to call the tech support numbers that came with the kit.
Post back if you find a solution!!!

My iMovie 8.0.6 keeps crashing for no reason!!! Help!!! I have verified the version is up to date and never had this problem before. I deleted all of my other projects. Don't know how to fix this but it's driving me nuts and the program keeps closing out of nowhere!! How do I fix this??

    Hi
No Quick Fix - only my Trouble shooting notes
    Trouble-shooting guide
When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
First try: Start iMovie - BUT keep - Shift-key down during full Up-Start - might help.
    Pref and Cache files:
iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
Creating a new User-Account and log into this
This forces iMovie to create all pref. and cache files new and error free
Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
a Codec is used that doesn't work (even though iMovie and/or iDVD tries to / they fail in the end)
version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext. HD or DVD)
External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
USB-flash-memories - usually do not work
Net-work connected hard disks - usually do not work (most often not fast enough and WRONGLY FORMATTED as DOS etc.)
iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie. When iMovie starts-up it first look trough this iPhoto library and if faulty it all Halt’s.
    This You do by
    First -  close iPhoto
    Secondly - on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
Thirdly - now select all five options presented
THEN - WAIT a long long time (>20 hours are not strange)
free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
Screen must be set to million-colors
    Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc. - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)
    buenrodri wrote
I solved the problem by removing the file: 3ivxVideoCodec.component. after that, up-dated iMovie runs ok.
    Last resort:
Trash all of iMovie and re-install it

  • TS1702 iBooks keeps quitting for no reason

iBooks keeps quitting for no reason. So tedious, so fed up with the app.

You might have a corrupt PDF file in iBooks, a corrupted book download, the app itself might be corrupt.....have you tried deleting the app and reinstall it? You can download your books again from the purchased tab of the iBooks app. If you sync with iTunes, you can sync all of your books back to the iPad after you delete the app and reinstall it.
In the meantime, you might want to just try quitting the app, reboot the iPad and then see how the app behaves.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the iBooks app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I just replaced the battery in my Curve 8530 and it keeps rebooting for no reason at all.  Any suggestions/resolutions?

    Hey daVadar,
Have you tried removing and inserting the battery ? i would suggest trying to back up and complete a clean reload of the device software and test before restoring your backup: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320

  • My MacBook keeps freezing for no reason!

So I bought a MacBook about 3 weeks ago and I was super excited and I love this thing, but it keeps freezing for no apparent reason! I will just be on the internet, or listening to music on iTunes or chatting, and it will freeze. I can't get any response from the keyboard or the mousepad and if music is playing, it sounds like the track is skipping. I have to force shut it down by holding the power button down everytime this happens. Sometimes it will happen after 30 minutes, sometimes not for 3 hours. I took it in 2 weeks ago for a hardware check and it came up clear and they told me it should be fine and might be my wireless internet connection. I have a NETGEAR wireless router. So, I turned off airport and did other things on the computer and it ran fine for over 3 hours without freezing. I was convinced it was my internet. BUT.... I had my friend come over and hook up to my internet connection and we both were on our macbooks (she has the exact same model as me) and mine froze and hers was completely fine the whole time! I was really angry and confused, so I brought my macbook back in again last friday. They told me there was an airport update, so I downloaded it and it seemed to be working. But that night, it froze once again. I was so frustrated and didn't know what else to do, so I did a complete system reinstall to clear out any programs that may have been causing the problem. I was so sure that this was going to work. And it seemed like it did. It's been working all week without freezing. Until tonight. I was sitting at my desk, reading my email, listening to music on iTunes, and chatting on iChat. I wanted to move my computer, so I unplugged from the wall, sat in a different chair and didn't plug back into the wall. It was fine for about 2 minutes in the new location, and then it froze once again. I honestly don't know what to do other than just bring it back and ask for a new one. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Any other suggestions? I just want this to stop!!!

    Hi Stephen,
There seems to be alot of threads about this issue.
I just put 'freezes' into the search and loads came up.
It sounds like you've had a bad start with your new MB.
Does it get extra hot before it freezes?
There is a thread about the heat issue and freezing here...
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4710316&#4710316
Have a read and see if any of your problems are similar.
If it persists much longer I would get in touch with Apple again and get it sorted.
    Hope this helps!

  • IPhone 3GS Keeps freezing for no reason.

    Hey All,
I bought a second-hand iPhone 3GS 16GB from Wicketgadget.com about... 6-7 months ago, the warranty has run out from that website and I doubt it's going to have the original apple warranty from it. I don't have AppleCare and I refuse to pay for support, that's stupid IMO.
Anyway, my problem is that my phone tends to just freeze up for no reason what-so-ever.. for example, I'll be doing something and it'll work fine, if I were to lock it and the screen went black like normal it'd be fine until I try to un-lock it 10 minutes later by pressing the home button or the lock button again and nothing will happen, infact I have to physically reset it by holding down those two buttons for at least 30 seconds or more before it responds. I then have to turn the phone off once it restarts and turn it back on again normally or else it continues to freeze no matter what I do.
    I've tried fully restoring it,
I've tried updating it (it's running iOS 5.0.1),
I've tried everything I can think of.
It's had the digitizer and lcd replaced at least 3 times, including a new dock-charger incl. speaker set.
    I'm currently on O2-UK,
The phone is running iOS 5.0.1,
    My serial number is 880304GJ3NP
    Help?

    Could anybody help me please?

  • My phones keeps draining for no reason

When ever i put my phone in the dark it runs out of battery for no reason. It doesn't usually go to 0% but after school it did. I always put my phone in my locker, where it is very dark once you close the door and when the school bell rings i check my phone and see that my phone has lost some of it's battery. Please help me to solve whats wrong with the phone.

    Hi Shweta.P,
From your post I understand that you're having an issue where the battery on your iPhone is depleting faster than you expect.  To help troubleshoot this issue I'd like you to please follow the battery optimization information in the article below, as well as finding out what process is taking up the battery.

  • Aurora Keeps Updating For No Reason

Either every other day or else everytime I manually check for an update on Aurora it thinks there is an update. And then when I restart Aurora it turns out it updated to the exact same version of Aurora. Why does it do this? And/Or how do I fix this issue? This started happened last week. Around, I believe, a week after I had installed Aurora. I've tried re-installing Aurora onto the one I already have.

Oh ok I hadn't realized that. I kept seeing it say version 22.0a2 and thought that it was doing that for no reason. I hadn't realized there was an update everyday.

  • Movieclip button keeps disappearing for some reason.

I created our website using Actionscript 2.0 and on several of our pages there is a drop-down text box that has a "close" button on it, which is just a movieclip located inside the text box movieclip.  For some reason, if you stay on a page for a few minutes the close button disappears.  The hand still shows up when you hover over where it was at and you can still click on it, but it just turns invisible.  I'm not sure what's causing this.  Any suggestions?
    The website is:  www.klaesimage.com
    Thanks,

My guess is that you have some kind of loop that adjusts the _alpha to brighten it up that is like this:
    myButton.onRollover=function(){
    this.onEnterFrame=function(){
    this._alpha+=10;
And you don't have a conditional to say, "when alpha reaches 100 stop adding more."
So what happes is that the alpha value goes about 100 and when it gets to something like 2^15 it wraps around and becomes an incredibly low negative number. If you wait another few minutes it should eventually get back to positive values!
Of course the best bet would be to put in some conditionals to control that it doesn't go above/below 100/0.
After watching it for a while longer I saw that it does cycle.  I'm not sure why because its alpha should just stay at 100 once it's on that frame, the dissolve up is from a motion tween where the entire contents of the text box go from 0 alpha to 100 alpha over 10 or so frames, but once there on the frame where it stops there shouldn't be any changes to the alpha.

  • Macbook keeps restarting for no reason! I'm losing my mimdddd.

I've had a 2008 Macbook (unibody) since December 2008.  I've been having a rebooting problem for the past 2 years-ish.  My macbook has been restarting on its own, out of nowhere.  I get an error report but I don't understand what it means.
I have had my hard drive upgraded to a larger drive (500gigs) and changed my ram to more (from 2 to 8), I've asked around and some say it was possibly the ram, so I changed the ram like a good mac user would and bingo....a big fat no change, same problem kept happening.
I've taken it into Apple, and the genius said it might be a software issue, so they reinstalled the operating system and the end result..........still the same!  The reboots still happened without any rhyme or reason.  I tried to look for a pattern, time of day, a day in week or month even year, weather sunny-clouldy-partial?, temperature if it was too hot or cold... margarita? even tired to see if it occurs before or after I brush my teeth but I realized I was going slightly insane and there was no use because nothing was working.
I don't know what else to do.... I have read some of the posts online for a MacBook Pro (as that is having similar issues) and I have tried the suggestions but with no luck I'm still getting rebooted.  I have the panic reports saved so if someone wants to have a look by all means send me a msg.  Good luck and thanks in advance.

Well It forces the mac to restart but ya i think thats what they are called Kernals

  • Computer keeps "resetting" for no reason

I like to keep my computer on overnight (logged into my account) but today I woke up to the slim login screen. Yesterday a similar thign happened where I had left the computer alone for a few hours only to find that it had logged me out somehow. Here's the only interesting stuff from /var/log/everything.log:
Nov 4 03:48:21 brian-laptop gnome-session[29044]: WARNING: Unable to determine session: Unable to lookup session information for process '29044'
    Nov 4 11:37:00 brian-laptop dhcpcd: eth0: renewing lease of 192.168.1.3
    Nov 4 11:37:00 brian-laptop dhcpcd: eth0: acknowledged 192.168.1.3 from 192.168.1.1
    Nov 4 11:37:00 brian-laptop dhcpcd: eth0: leased 192.168.1.3 for 86400 seconds
Nov 4 12:00:12 brian-laptop gnome-session[29071]: WARNING: Unable to determine session: Unable to lookup session information for process '29071'
Nov 4 12:00:24 brian-laptop gnome-session[29071]: WARNING: Application 'compiz.desktop' failed to register before timeout
    Any idea what's going on?
EDIT: Oops, I meant to post this in the newbie corner, would a mod be so kind?

The whole thing as requested .
    I don't have an nVidia card, it's a built-in Intel 945G.
