"Works with iPhone" Program

Has anyone had success in enrolling in the "Works with iPhone" program? I am designing an accessory right now but have not heard back from Apple. How long did it take to get a response? What was the process you went through?
Thanks.

No. I am already part of that.
This program is if you wanted to design your own stereo that works with the iPhone (for example).

I need to install Internet Explorer 6 or greater on my iMac (intel processor) running MacOS 10.6.8 to work with a program.  How is the best way to accomplish this?

There is no way.  IE has not been available for the Mac for years now.
Your only option is to install native Windows and use that - either through a bootcamp dual-boot scenario, or use a virtual machine to run windows in (eg. Parallels or VMWare Fusion).  Either way, you will need a full retail install disk for Windows.
P.S. the last version of IE for Mac was for PPC machines, and it was discontinued in 2003.

  • Appletv remote app and airplay not working with iphone 4S

I have the latest appleTV.  I have the remote app loaded onto my ipad3 and iphone 4S.  The app is not working with iphone 4S, nor do I get the airplay icon, hence I can't mirrior my phone on appleTV.  It used to work.  I have deleted and reloaded the app, and still nothing.  It worked fined until a month ago or so.  I have enabled home sharing.
The app and airlplay are working just fine with the ipad3.  I have the ipad and appleTV hooked up to my router using 5Ghz, and the iphone only connects to the 2Ghz network on the same router.  I don't think this is the issue, because it worked before.
Also, when I click on the remote app on the iphone, to add an itunes library, a code pops up on the phone, which I enter into itunes on my Win7 PC.  Nothing seems happed on the computer when I enter the code.  Could this have anything to do with recent appleTV or itunes updates?  Any possible solutions?

It seems like I am having the same problem.
I have the latest AppleTV 1080, imac 27", ipad, ipad2, 2 iphone 4, all with the latest iOS. After I have the AppleTV connected, a few problems showed up:
    (1) ipad plus iphones cannot airplay photo to AppleTV. After the play button and the grey screen displayed "the playing msg on AppleTV", nothing happened. it is the same for ipad/iphone.
    (2) iMac not Airplay to AppleTV
    (3) Airplay Mirroring not working
    The following are done:
    - Home sharing enabled
    - To test the devices are connected. I set a passowrd for Airplay and the ipad/iphone both requested for it so they are network and devices are ok

  • "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone"

I have a first generation iphone. It recently started showing a message that reads:
This accessory is not made to work with iPhone
Would you like to turn on Airplane Mode to reduce audio interference?
You will not be able to make call during this mode
    YES NO
There is no accessory in the phone. Any thoughts on how to stop this behavior?
I tried reloading the OS and it didn't help.

I was having the same problem and it was draining my battery! After reading a couple of threads I was resigned to take my 1st gen iphone to the genius bar to see if they could do something. Before going to the bar I took off my pics, videos, movies, podcasts, and some applications in preparation for my visit. That night the problem stopped. This had been happening for about 3-4 weeks so I could replicate at will. After removing things from the phone when I tried to replicate the problem it would not happen. So I then started to re-sync things one at a time. After re-syncing everything but the applications I still could not replicate the problem. My feeling is that one of the applications, or combinations of, was causing the issue. I have not re-synced all the applications at this time because I am happy to have my phone back. Hope this helps.

  • IHome no longer works with iPhone 4s after iOS 6.1 update.

My iHome no longer works with iPhone 4s after iOS 6.1 update.  Prompts message 'This accessory is not supported by iPhone'.  Has anyone come accross this and is there a fix?

Ring up iHome and ask them for a fix... And if they cant supply you with a fix... Then you should be entitled to a replacement or a upgrade, as firmware upgrades on your ios device should not affect audio products......

  • Iphone will not charge via usb-to-computer nor via brick; I've tested with two different cables. Just before this problem arose, I got messages similar to "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone."

Most of my concern is in the subject line. I probably should've saved some content to include here. Allow me to elaborate:
While traveling with the tiny brick, I got a message on my 3GS phone that "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone”; however, the charger was working fine with another phone and with an iPad.
I tested alternatives by removing and re-inserting the cable (obviously, as I tested other devices), changing wall receptacles, shutting the phone off (all the way), all to no avail.
When I got home, I plugged a different cable--one that was connected to my iMac rather than the brick--into the my 3GS; it still didn't charge.
So, I'm hypothesizing that perhaps some debris (from a pocket?) got into the charging receptacle of the 3GS and is disrupting the connection. Perhaps there are other hypotheses.
I am reluctant to do a reset, as (a) the problem doesn't appear to be a software issue (the phone and software are all working, though the charge is declining) and (b) I don't want to lose the contents before I can sync it (now that I'm home, again).
I'd welcome suggestions. Meanwhile, I suppose I shall e-mail photos and notes from the phone to myself before I lose the remaining charge.

Try to clean the 30-pin receiver slot either by blowing air into it or using a microfiber cloth. If the problem persists, based on what you've already said, I'd say the problem is most likely hardware, and would need to be replaced or repaired. I hope your iPhone is still under the 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty, or if applicaable extended warranty. You can check by calling AppleCare National iPhone Technical Support at 1 (800) 694-7466.

  • Universal Dock's remote doesn't work with iPhone Photos

Has anyone tried Universal Dock's remote with iPhone Photos? I can't get it to work.
The remote does work with iPhone music and video though.

i just bought this dock as a car dock. I have it hooked up to power 12v and output to 1/8 into head unit. Now, I have to be in iTunes music to get it to work and it only allows volume, playing of files in a playlist and to next song. Are any of you guys having issues with VERY limited use of the remote and lack of really a benefit from using a remote because you have to touch it anyways to change through songs or video??? Are you guys wondering why you even bought it if the remote is not supported as a functional addition?

  • Ipod doesn't work on speakers but headphones are fine and speaker works with iPhone. Possible connector issue? Any thoughts on how I can get the fixed?

ipod doesn't work on speakers but headphones are fine and speaker works with iPhone. Possible connector issue? Any thoughts on how I can get the fixed?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Until it "Works With iPhone"

While you're waiting for those "Works with iPhone" 3rd-party devices to show up on the shelves, these two suggestions may help (#2 is the big one):
    1) By now you've probably figured out that you can make almost any headphone plug fit the iPhone by removing about a 1mm ring of plastic or rubber with an X-Acto knife. If you don't trust your surgical skills on that $200 pair of headphones, buy a cheap headphone splitter and modify it instead, then plug your headphones into it.
    2) If you've given up on your powered speakers or FM-transmitter because of the squeaky noises, try this: Radio Shack sells a "Ferrite Data Line Filter", Part Number 273-105, for under $6. It's a little plastic box that snaps around your cable and blocks most (maybe not all, but most) of that GSM squawk when your sweetheart calls or your phone is just trying to find a new tower. The filter needs to be near the iPhone end of the cable. If you build up a little section of the cable with foam or tape to about a pencil diameter, the box will grip and not slide. If you loop the cable through twice, you won’t need the padding and the loop may actually improve the filtering.
I tried this on a road trip from Atlanta to Richmond and only really noticed the GSM buzz while I was passing through downtown Richmond. Something about signals bouncing around between tall buildings, I suppose. For most of the trip it worked great, and even in downtown Richmond the buzz was greatly reduced. It’s still a good idea to keep the phone as far away from the radio or speakers as possible.
This device is available at most, but not all, Radio Shack stores. Go to the Radio Shack website and they will tell you which store near you carries this part number.
Combining suggestions 1 and 2: If you attach the filter more or less permanently to a headphone splitter, you will have a removable filter that your friends can check out on their iPhones.
Caveat Emptor: This may not work for everyone. If it doesn't, you're only out six bucks, and it won't harm anything.
    Enjoy!

  • Does apples 30 pin male to female adapter work with iphone 4s to skydock

does apples 30 pin male to female adapter, work with iphone 4s to skydock (xm radio car cradle/charger)?

    Howdy nanster23,
If you have as yet been unable to use this 30pin to lightning bolt adapter, I would like to recommend the troubleshooting in the following article to help you get that squared away:
If you need help with iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch accessories
These sections in particular since you have already done a couple of them:
Disconnect and inspect the accessory, then restart your device
Disconnect the accessory and turn it off, if possible.
Inspect the connection between the accessory and device and make sure that no debris or other damage is present.
Restart your iOS device by turning it off, then back on. When the Home screen appears, reconnect the accessory.
Restore iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Restore your iOS device. You should rarely need to use this step with an accessory issue. If the issue only affects a third-party accessory, contact the manufacturer before restoring the device.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Please Help "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone" iPod??

Hiya i wondered if someone here can help me please.
Today i went to play my ipod feature on my iPhone and it started playing on the iPhone speakers which i wanted, Then all of a sudden it stoped i checked it out and had an error message saying the following.
"This accessory is not made to work with iPhone
Do you wish to switch to aeroplane mode
    YES/NO"
There is no accessory connected to the phone and also it has not been in contact with water which i heard sometimes triggers this error.
When i press the NO option the volume cuts out and the volume slider disapears on the ipod and also the volume buttons dont work.
I dont really want to factory restore it but if thats my only option then i will do it. Also i have only had the phone for less than 20 days.
    Any Help/Advice is really apprieciated.

Check your iPhone's dock connector port for any dirt, lint, or foreign material, and it doesn't take much.
If clear, the standard troubleshooting steps in order are power your iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset - which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so, restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, and restoring as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after any of these steps in order, you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

  • Bought iPhone 6 yesterday. Also bought dock works with iPhone 5/5s. And cord connecting iPhone 6 to USB port on car stereo. No sound comes out of dock or car stereo. In store today, iPhone 5 running ios 8 worked on dock, not iPhone 6. When Apple fix?

I bought an iPhone 6 yesterday. I also bought a stereo dock that works with iPhone 5/5s. And a cord to connect iPhone 6 to USB port on my car stereo. No sound comes out of the stereo dock or car stereo. In Best Buy today, Sales Associate tried his iPhone 5 running iOS 8 on a stereo dock. It worked, but my iPhone 6 didn't. When will Apple fix this problem? Or is Apple pushing everyone to Bluetooth?

The iPod feature that plays through USB in my car does not work with my iPhone 6 either.  I called AppleCare and they said that the car audio system will need a firmware update.  Don't know if Apple is just passing the buck, but that is what I was told.  Thank you for posting.  I know now that I am not the only one.  Thanks also for posting about the iPhone 5 running iOS 8.  I gave away my iPhone 5 to a friend so I wasn't sure whether this is an iOS 8 issue or an iPhone 6 issue and your experience seems to confirm that it is a problem with iPhone 6.  I guess I will just be using Bluetooth in my car, at least for now.

Headsets don't come with the iPad. All you get is the iPad, USB cable and wall charger.

So I cannot scan my pictures, help.  Windows 8.1 with HP Officejet 6500A Plus printer.  Scanner works with other programs in my PC.  Problem is PS12

I bought the Officejet 6500A Plus about one month and have experienced the very same problem. I tried to remedy this problem following suggestions in a number of different posts (static IP, router, firewalls etc), all to no avail. Last week I called support. The support I received by the tech over several hours and different days for a week was very good. However none of his suggestions corrected the connection issue. After today's recommended fix failed, he advised HP is aware of this issue with the 6500 and other affected printers. He claimed HP was working on a firmware upgrade. He did not know when the update would be provided. The tech also claimed HP acknowledged this problem in a written announcement. He agreed to email the announcement to me. I haven't received it. This has been the only problem I've had with the 6500
