Workspace Configuration in OWB11..2
Hi,
after insllation of owb11.2 on server i go to workspace configuration. at last step/dialog box when i click on finish button then repository configuration dialog box is being closed without any error.
can anyone help me to craete workspace in owb11.2.

Workspace configuration (saved)...
It would be great if Pages / Numbers / etc were able to 'remember' the configuration of the workspace - similar to how Photoshop et al. remember my configurations.
Currently every time I open up a document I am forced to reconfigure the layout of the app. Some of our workstations also have dual display setups - even more of a problem.
If anyone knows a way of 'fixing' workspace configurations in iWork 08 please post your thoughts / observations / fix here. Thanks.

HFM shared services and workspace configuration
Hello,
I am new to Hyperion environment and learning the products. Downloaded the products for 11.11.3, installed and configured them, but having problems.
1. Shared services is up and able tol log in, but not verified anything else there
2. Not able to bring up the workspace , used the url http://<servername>:19000/workspace. After entering the user id and password.. got the following error...
"Could not find a Hyperion Reporting and analysis server running on local host at port 6800..." , not able to see any download with "Reporting and Analysis server", but downloaded and installed V17378-01 & V17380-01.
In the diagnostic report seeing the following error... "Availability of web application context http://localhost:10080/eas
Error: Bad response code: 404
Recommended Action: Check application is started "
Please advice.

I think you need to download all the following components for installing Hyperion. In this release Workspace is bundled under foundation and not as part of Reporting.

Hello All,
Some time back I was trying my hand with migrating Hyperion components from one server to another (lets say A to B). In one instance I copied all the configured repositories as it is from A to B. Then I tried configuring the products at B. I realized it was a big mistake and removed everything from B and did a clean migration with correct steps.
I realized, that the first configuration of B has goofed up configuration at A because everything was still pointing to A. I was able to fix everything except Workspace at A. Now, everytime I start Workspace service at B, Workspace at A starts showing me different errors when I launch HF reports: userID/pwd not correct; error at token #xxx; a blank screen after report is executed.
Everything works fine at A as long as the Workspace Agent and Web Application services are stopped at B. None of the other services/components cause any issue.
I guess I might need to redeploy Workspace at A. I tried re-configuring but it did not work. Can anyone please help me with the steps of re-deploying?

Is there any other way to fix the issue?

NitinPhew...this is turning out to be a nightmare!
So I dropped the DB and recreated it and then reconfigured. But I guess there was some problem with the deployment. I saw some folders and files missing under the workspace deployed webapp folder.
Then I uninstalled workspace and re-installed it. This time the deployment went fine but I started facing new problems:
1) Essbase service was not starting. Was giving this error "Network Error [10048]: Unable to Bind Host Server Socket On Port [1423]" and was stopping. Following another thread on this forum I renamed the ESSBASE.BAK file to .SEC. This issue was fixed.
2) Cannot register with HSS since it says product already exists.
3) When I login to workspace, it does not show me HFR and some other admin features. I checked the access is fine. This is happening with all users - none of them can see HFR. I have reconfigured workspace 2-3 times but it is not helping.
4) I cannot login to HFR Studio. It says you do not have previlige.
Is it step 1 which screwed up everything else?
Any word of advise please?!

Workspace Configuration HTTP Server: Apache, IIS or others?
When I configure workspace under Hyperion Foundation, it asks me to configure the HTTP Server and gives me a choice of using Apache or IIS. My question is, are these the only two choices of HTTP Server for workspace? What if I had say Oracle HTTP Server installed, would workspace give me the option of using that?
Also, it is my understanding that FDM requires IIS to run. Now while I do have IIS installed, the workspace screen lets me select Apache as the HTTP Server. So does FDM work fine with Apache ?The default http servers are iis and apache up to version 11.1.1.3, in 11.1.2 apache is dropped and replaced by OHS.
It think it is possible to use OHS if you are also using Oracle application server in 11.1.1.3 (not something I would recommend as OAS is dropped after that)
The http server just really acts as a redirect to other products from workspace, so you access workspace on one port and it will redirect to the other products on different ports.
So Apache really does not have anything to do with with FDM and FDM will still run on IIS.

I'm having problems with workspace..
version 11.1.1.3 shared services is running, planning and FDM except for workspace.
Server is running windows and oracle databse...
I tried reconfiguring and still it won't open...this is what I get from the logs...

Hi,
I installed 11.1.1.3 version. while configuring the shared services, calc manager, HFM, FDM, FR and EPMA, everything successfully installed and Successfully Configured. But while configuring workspace i am getting Problem "Deploy to Application Server" Failed. I tried many times, every time i am getting same configuration problem. How to find the error for configuration failed, and where can i get the error log? Could you plz provide solution to resolve the issue.
i will be very thankful for your valuable advice.

Workspace 'configure interface datasource' error
Hi All
I have just installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2 on a linux 32 bit machine. The installation and configuration finished succesfully.
When I logged in to console http://ip:9000/workspace and click on "configure interface datasource"
i get error message.

I'm a new OEPE user, and found that after installing it, Eclipse (Kepler) now starts up with the wrong workspace every time. I have to explicitly do File > Switch Workspace... to get Eclipse to restart with the correct workspace. Also, the workspace I want to use is the only one listed in the Workspaces preferences panel (Window > Preferences > General > Startup and Shutdown > Workspaces). So I can't figure out why Eclipse is using the wrong workspace, and why it's even finding this wrong one.
I found that many other users of OEPE with Kepler are having this same problem:

I suspect that some action by the OEPE code somehow modifies the OSGi Cache so that it no longer asks you what workspace you'd like to use (and forces usage of the workspace in top user directory.) I found that if you put in "-clean" in your eclipse.ini, then you get asked what workspace you'd like to use. This flag clears out the OSGi cache (hence my theory that it is this cache that is messed up)
That said, there are arguments for not doing this all the time. See this discussion: java - How to run eclipse in clean mode? and what happens if we do so? - Stack Overflow
Finally, I suspect you have another workspace on your system now. Presuming you are on a PC, go to your user dir - I'd wager there is a "workspace" dir there now. That is where OEPE wants to work.

OEPE should be able to work with any workspace; it has in the past! If a specific workspace is required with this release, that is a step backward in my opinion. That said, if that is the direction of the product, so be it. I find it hard to believe that is the direction of the product, however! -
Easy configuration of the workspace
I'm sure this is already in the 700+ feature requests, but I can't find it!
I would like to be able to configure Lightroom in a very easy way to my desired workspace view. In particular:
- I want to be able to specify the initial workspace configuration for Lightroom every time I start it. This includes being able to hide things like the Windows toolbar.
- I want to be able to store a few other workspace configurations that I can select VERY easily, perhaps with a single key or mouse click. (I only need 2 or 3 or so).
I'm not asking for anything completely new. For example, if, (after starting Lightroom), I do "F" "F" "F5", I get a useful use of my screen space. I would like to be able to say "when Lightroom starts, please always act as though I have done "F" "F" "F5"".
(It might even be possible to override the last setting of (for example) Loupe versus Grid mode, but that is an optional extra, and not as important, so don't be inhibited by that suggestion).
Then it would be good to be able to set a key or button to say "now act as though I had done "X" "Y" "Z" after starting Lightroom". Or to save the current workspace configuration in a way that could be called up with a single key or button.
The workspace configuration features I am particularly interested in being able to configure in this way are those set by:
- Tab
- (perhaps) Shift Tab
- F (or F F)
- (perhaps) L (or L L)
- F5
- F6
- F7
- F8
- T
So I am asking for rapid, even default, ways of triggering those effects.Workspaces as in Photoshop/Bridge (i.e. physically reposition panels, etc) would require a rethink on how the UI is actually structured, which I don't think will happen. However, within the constraints of the existing structure I think Workspaces have been a long time objective.

Re-install of Oracle HTTP Server in a configured environment
OS: Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.5 64 bit
Hyperion: v11.1.2.0
Web Server1: SharedServices, Calc, EAS, APS, Planning installed and configured. They are working from URL and clients.
We ran into issues with Workspace configuration. If we have to re-install Oracle HTTP server on the web server, will it affect the current configuration adversely? In other words, do we need to start all over again?
Has anyone else run into similar or related issues? How were you able to resolve it?
This is related to another thread I have on this forum. It is related but these are different issues and we are trying to see how we can proceed while waiting for support to respond.

I have Hyperion 9.3.0 environment and
I m using web logic 8.1 and facing problem in starting workspace .
configuration with weblogic is successful but still error while open workspace :
Error 404--Not Found

If it has never worked then :-
Run the configurator again, select foundation > workspace > configure web server
Restart the workspace / financial reporting services.

Units error when exporting to STEP
I am importing data from CADDS 5 parts into Acrobat 3D. I then export data to STEP, and then import the STEP files into Catia V5. The scale is always off when I make measurements in CATIA V5 (the unit value is always much smaller than it should be).
