When I am selecting Deploy to application server during configuration,workspace is disabled and I am not able to check it...
Please reply what is the issue

Hi all,
I'm learning Oracle Apex, and finished some OBEs about it. I'm very excited about the platform, and liking very much. But a lot of questions come to my mind.
If I understood it, a Workspace, is a "place" to develop some apps, and encapsule it, and from this workspace, I can export an app to deploy on another server, but, I don't see any options about what tables need to be exported.
In one workspace/schema, I can have more than one app, and I don't see where you define wich tables belongs to each app.
I don't see either, how an upgrade works. If I have deployed an app on a customer, and I need to upgrade it, upgrade of the database, without losing data is automatically?
Another thing I don't understad very well, is about runtime installation.

For testing and production instances, Oracle Application Express supports the ability to install just a runtime version. This minimizes the installed footprint and privileges. It also improves your application consistency because in a runtime instance developers cannot inadvertently update any application source.
I understand correctly, thath this means I can't modify a deployed app, but I can upgrade it?

If you change the structure of your database objects with your application upgrade then you need to upgrade the database objects in order for the application to work. Whatever application features depend on the database changes will not work.
Another thing I don't understad very well, is about runtime installation.Runtime installation basically does not allow any editing of the application definition once it's installed. You need to keep an independent location where you do your application development/modification. Deploying to a runtime application is not reversible, meaning you can't change it to an editable application once you've set it as runtime only.

Workspace manual deployment on Websphere 6.1

We installed Hyperion Reporting and Analysis S9. We selected to make Deployment to Application Server MANUAL when we tried to make Workspace deployment on Websphere 6.1
We get the following error:
EJPPC0006E: Portlet and Servlet names must be different within portlet.xml and web.xml.
Any ideas about why we are getting this error and how to fix it?

Error while running the financial report in the workspace.

Hi,
Im getting the below error while running the financial report in the workspace in HTML mode.
*"Required application module reporting.HRRunDlg is not configured. Please contact your administrator".*
And im not able to login to the Hyperion Financial Reporting as well.. i get the below error
*"You are not authorized to use this functionality. Contact your administrator"*
Can someone let me know how to resolve this error.

You don't mention the version, what app server or web server you are using, etc.. That information might be helpful, but in general, you can try the following:
1. Make sure you have gone through the FR Web App deployment steps and verify the settings entered in the Config Tool.
2. For version 11.1.1.x and 9.3.1.x, try opening the report in FR Studio and running it via the FR Studio Print Preview (*bold*not*bold* Web Preview.) If the report runs/processes, then the back-end FR Services are functioning and the issue is confined to the web interface. Verify the FR Web App is up and listening on the designated port (8200, by default), check the FR Web App logs and the App Server (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, OAS) logs for errors/issues.
If the report fails to process in FR Studio Print Preview, then there is a problem with the FR Reporting Server Service. Check to make sure the service is up/functioning and check the FR Report Server logs for errors.
3. Test access to other FR functionality in workspace (ex: Files->Preferences->Financial Reporting or Explore->Tools->Database Connection Manager?) If these don't work, then try to connect to the following URLs:
http://workspaceServer:19000/hr/status.jsp
http://frWebAppServer:8200/hr/status.jsp
Note: The URLs above assume standard/default ports. You may need to adjust them for your environment.
If the first URL fails, but the second URL works, there is a problem with the HTTP redirect settings on the Web Server (Apache, IIS, etc.) Run through the Workspace deployment and make sure the Web Server Config settings point to the right ports/servers.

How to reference a Planning Application in Workspace

Hello,
I've developped several Planning applications.
But when I open workspace / Applications / Planning, (with an admin user)
I only see one Planning application. So I want to know how to reference a Planning application in Workspace ??

Some details :
My Planning applications seems to works correctly. Essbase is Okay. Shared services is okay too but the Workspace is out (and with it Financial Reporting Studio).
Before that problem, In the configurator, I've deleted all Planning clusters except one (Default). I've selected Re-associate Clusters and Applications and I've successfully re-Associate all Planning Application to Default Cluster. Then I've Activated Cluster Default.
But Anyway, Since I've deleted Planning Clusters my Workspace doesn't work anymore.
I've a doubt: I've tried to redeploy Workspace (Configurator / Hyperion Foundation / Workspace / Deploy to Application Server and Configure web Server.
It doesn't work because it says that Workspace already exists :p.
Anyway I'm surprised about something : To access Workspace we use the 19000 port but In Configuration we I try to deploy it I see it is on the 45000 port. If I click on advanced / Setup a little window open "Set up Logical Address". And it is writtend Edit Default Cluster : gl-dev-budget : 45000 meanwhile when (still in Configurator) I open Planning / Manage Planning Cluster the server port is 8300 ??
Is someone can helps me ?

OBPM Workspace Cascade StyleSheet (CSS) Loading Page Stuck

Hi there, I´m facing a serious problem !
We have implemented ALBPM workspace to end users on my customer ! The main problem is regarding a weird behavior.
When users are working through ALBPM Workspace (deployed into ALBPM for WebLogic Server) sometimes they got stuck due to workspace problems, they select an instance or try to submit a instance to validation, they got stuck in "LOADING PAGE" and nothing happens then! They must close their browsers and re-open again to get the work done!
This is impacting roughly end users performances! My customer is complaining and we don´t have any idea what´s going on.

Thanks for your help, but I´m not using WebLogic Portal.
I´m using BPM Workspace instead of it.
End users access through BPM WORKSPACE,like I said, BPM Worskpace has been deployed into WebLogic Server and NOT WebLogic Portal. I had some issues like that on WebLogic Portal, another customer, I resolved changed the TYPE LAYOUT to Two Column Layout instead of FLOW LAYOUT.
But here, customer is using only BPM WORKSPACE, so there´s no WEBLOGIC PORTAL !
I´m facing these problems occasionally, end users must close their browsers and open a new one and finish their jobs.
I appreciate your help and attention.

Workspace Configuration Issue

Hello All,
Some time back I was trying my hand with migrating Hyperion components from one server to another (lets say A to B). In one instance I copied all the configured repositories as it is from A to B. Then I tried configuring the products at B. I realized it was a big mistake and removed everything from B and did a clean migration with correct steps.
I realized, that the first configuration of B has goofed up configuration at A because everything was still pointing to A. I was able to fix everything except Workspace at A. Now, everytime I start Workspace service at B, Workspace at A starts showing me different errors when I launch HF reports: userID/pwd not correct; error at token #xxx; a blank screen after report is executed.
Everything works fine at A as long as the Workspace Agent and Web Application services are stopped at B. None of the other services/components cause any issue.
I guess I might need to redeploy Workspace at A. I tried re-configuring but it did not work. Can anyone please help me with the steps of re-deploying?

Is there any other way to fix the issue?

Phew...this is turning out to be a nightmare!
So I dropped the DB and recreated it and then reconfigured. But I guess there was some problem with the deployment. I saw some folders and files missing under the workspace deployed webapp folder.
Then I uninstalled workspace and re-installed it. This time the deployment went fine but I started facing new problems:
1) Essbase service was not starting. Was giving this error "Network Error [10048]: Unable to Bind Host Server Socket On Port [1423]" and was stopping. Following another thread on this forum I renamed the ESSBASE.BAK file to .SEC. This issue was fixed.
2) Cannot register with HSS since it says product already exists.
3) When I login to workspace, it does not show me HFR and some other admin features. I checked the access is fine. This is happening with all users - none of them can see HFR. I have reconfigured workspace 2-3 times but it is not helping.
4) I cannot login to HFR Studio. It says you do not have previlige.
Is it step 1 which screwed up everything else?
Any word of advise please?!

Trouble deploying TestStand

Hi,
I have tried many suggestions and configurations but I still cant get my deployed TestStand to run in other PC. I kept getting "Unable to launch the 'LabVIEW .Application' ActiveX automation server. TestStand cannot find a LabVIEW Development System installed in this computer." My test sequence also uses custom process model. Below are the things that I have done:
1. Configured the LabVIEW adapter to use RTE and enable "Always Run VI in LabVIEW RTE" in the LabVIEW Advanced Settings under Module tab.
2. Added configuration .ini files that will be used, including TestExec.ini and TestStandModelModelOptions.ini in workspace.
3. Enable "Install TestStand Engine" and leave Engine Options/ Drivers and Components as default.
Below are my questions:
1. Since I am using custom process model, where should I save this .seq in?Is it in my working directory or TestStand components folder? Reason why I am asking this is because I tried both ways, the latter gave me
"Warning: This problem will cause an error when building a deployable image or an installer. The following file(s) were not found:
rfid_read_write.seq in step 'Reset Test Sequence', sequence 'MainSequence', sequence file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\TestStand 4.2.1\Components\Models\TestStandModels\SequentialModel_RFID.seq'"
Obviously rfid_read_write.seq has already been included and present.
2. Should I also include this custom process model .seq file in the workspace/deployment?
3. How to solve the unable to launch LabVIEW.Application issue?

Did you have any errors on the compile of the code?
You also want to check if the app is deployed (if so you may want to remove it before re-deploying it)

EPM 11.1.2.3 in Windows 8 Professional (64-bit)

I am trying to install EPM 11.1.2.3 in my 7 core Dell Inspirion machine which has 8 GB RAM. I have installed Windows 8 Professional (64-bit) and also have IIS. I could successfully installed EPMA but when I tried to configure, "Performance Management Architect - Configure Database" failed.
Anyone has any idea how to fix this issue.

i'm not sure how you create your war but there something wrong with your web.xml. kindly check it :-)
by d way, you can deploy your project in my-eclipse by
- right click on the project then select my-eclipse > Add and Remove Project Deployment's
- a new window will open and you can now configure how you deploy your project :-)
other alternative edit your jboss-service.xml then put something like this
<attribute name="URLs">deploy/, file:/D:/workspace/deploy</attribute>
(note, change the path according to your needs)

Directory sync not progressing

I'm trying to set up my directory sync in a new workspace deployment, but get stuck on the final step. Have I done something wrong, or is this expected for an AD domain with 4000+ users (even though I'm only trying to add a group with 10 people)?
We are running Workspace 2.1.0.2100 Build 2099413
What I have done:
Go to Connector Services Admin -> Directory Sync
Scheduling : Once per day 11:55 PM
Click "Edit Directory Sync Rules"
Select Users Step
DN for Users: DC=group,DC=company,DC=base
No filters
Click "Continue"
There are about 4000 users in our directory
Select Groups Step
DN for Groups: OU=Security Groups,OU=Location,DC=group,DC=company,DC=base
From the available groups I select a single group which contains my test app security group with about 10 users, it is the only group selected
Click "Continue"
Push to Workspace Step
A progress bar and the text "Calculating Sync Actions." is displayed. It has been sitting here for 8 hours so far.
When Workspace was first installed (with an invalid group in step 2), it took about 30 minutes to complete.

Can you please send us the log bundle to take a look at what might be going on here. Go to https://yourworkspacehostname:8443. This is how you can generate the log bundle. Click on "Appliance Configruator". Login using the admin password you chose. Click on "Log File Locations". Click on "Prepare log bundle" button. You can send that file to me via private message. Ojdeploy - quick question

We have an application jws with 2 jpr (1 for Model, another for ViewController)
We need to use ojdeploy to deploy to remote WLS.
After deployment, our ADF app is not coming up and we saw that the file ear file size has increased by a factor of 4.
No errors seen from ojdeploy.
1. Is the way we have in the ojbuild.xml correct ? Do we need to call deploy 3 times just to build model, viewController and app ?

Hi!
No, you just call it once. When you deploy your app to your built-in WebLogic, you just go to Application->Deploy and select the profile there, don't you.
Same thing in ojdeploy. So your last call to ojdeploy (below "") should suffice. Just specify the workspace file and the application deployment profile.

LCM migration - Unable to see "Planning Dev Applications" Under "App group"

----- Situation ------
* We have hyperion 11.1.1.3.24
* Objective i- trying to perform a LCM file-migration from our DEV environment to UAT
* DEV has only one PMA enabled Planning Application (“budget”), few FR reports & other related artifacts.
----- So far --------
* Successfully Exported these 4 (Shared-services, EPMA, Planning & FR) from our DEV
* Successfully IMPORTED first 2 (Shared services, EPMA).
* Although the migration-Status shows failed in my case, noticed all the artifacts have been successfully Migrated. (Noticed Similar claims have reported in other posts as well.)
But, I am stuck on the Third Step, Planning Artifacts Imports. Since, I don’t see “Planning Dev Applications” Under “Application Group” (in shared-services console).
What Should I do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reporting Analysis
I need to create a New Planning Application Group (in our UAT). Still checking on how to create one.
