Workspace error- namespace communication error

Hi Experts,
Kindly suggest as i have these errors
Oracle EPM System Diagnostic Reports:
FAILED; HTTP: Http ; Availability of http context http://localhost:80/oracle-epm-fm-webservices
Error: com.hyperion.cis.utils.BadResponseCodeException: Bad response code with GET method: 403
Recommended Action: Check application is started
FAILED; SVR: HFM Service; Validation Check if HFM service in working state.
Error: EPMVLD-01024: The Financial Management service check failed.
Recommended Action: Make sure HatEx utility is working, check hat.output file from validation logs folder for details.

Just to be clear it works if you use
http://server:80/workspace/index.jsp
as that is the url you should be using for IIS as the http server.
You shouldnt be using http://server:28080/workspace/index.jsp as that is not going through the http server so will no redirect correctly to the other products.

Namespace Communication Error

I'm having the following issue when trying to login to Hyperion Workspace (in EPM 11.1.2) . I get to the login page fine, and when I login it takes me into Workspace, but a warning immedately pops up saying *"Namespace Communication Error".* I can dismiss this warning by hitting 'OK', but after that I cannot navigate to any of the Workspace areas like the Explore directory or the Scheduler directory. If I try to go to "Explore", I get an error saying *"Invalid or could not find module configuration*". If I try to go to the Batch Scheduler page, I get an error saying *"Handler : 'com.hyperion.reporting.web.scheduler.SchedulerListHandler' not found for module with id : reporting.scheduler".* I find that if I restart the EPM and Foundation services, Workspace starts functioning normally again, but this is shortlived. I.e. If I log out and try to login after 10-15 minutes, I again get all of the above warnings and errors!
Has anyone experienced this problem? I appreciate any guidance with this.

I have installed Oracle EPM 11.1.2.0 on different OS like windows7/RedhatEL 5.0 succesfully.But when when i log into workspace i get the error NAMESPACE COMMUNICATION ERROR(on windows) and then it hangs for few minutes and then it will take to workspace.(It can be a defect with Orcale EPm itself.)
So,I tried to reconfigure the web server using IIS and then restarted the Foundation services the problem got solved for me.I no more see the NameSpace Communication error.
Worth trying.

configuration with weblogic is successful but still error while open workspace :

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

but we can access the reports by clicking OK on error button.

Hello, I had actually not resolved my issue. I was using a Hardware Load Balancer and pointing all apps in HYSL-Weblogic.conf to the HA VIP. If you put all servernames for the WebLogicCluster stanzas as WL_SERVER:WL_PORT,WL_SERVER2:_WLPORT2 format it should fix your issue. Fingers crossed that mine is resolved.

Hello all,
I have just completed my Project Server 2010 to 2013 migration. All look OK until I tried using Project Professional 2013 and opening a project with about 25
Users (Enterprise Resource) . Opening took about 7 min. I tried creating a new project with 5 users and still took longer then is should.
I decided to run the below command and I received a lot of errors about missing workspace. Please help if anyone can.

All,
Bulk update and post up gradation tasks was completed at time of migration.
I did notice that when opening Project Professional 2013 and unselecting
Load Resource Assignments, everything opens and runs as it should. Not sure why ? So I think for now, I'll run Project Professional 2013 without Load Resource Assignments until I find a fix.
As for (The following projects are missing the workspace webs) error, still getting them.

Workspace error message

Hi all,
One of our user got the below error message in workspace as prompt window in workspace while logging in.
The repository object with uuid,00001380481050-0000-fb52uabf930f could not be found,+
The response from the server contained an unexpected content type,+
We have installed and configured Hyperion version 11.1.1.3.
Where could i search for these kind of Oracle EPM System Workspace error as there is no info found in the workspace log directory.
Let me know what was causing this issue and the solution.

You can query the EPM 11 repository DB to find out the object ID (ie. uuid,00001380481050-0000-fb52uabf930f) in V8_Container table. But it usually it's not easily identified what each ID is for, and you might have to join other object table within the repository to figure that out.
My question about your environment: is this a migrated version from v9? I found object to be corrupted during the migration and would become inaccessable in the new environment as a result. Any new object created in the new environment does not run into this type of issue.
I have found Oracle DataModeler (freeware) on the Oracle site that allow me to generate a schematic relational diagram of the EPM 11 repository tables, which is useful sometimes.

Workspace error in hfm

hi all
i installed HFM and FDM on one server and Reporting and Analysis and Shared Services on another server. But after the configuration I am able to create application on Win32 client. But when i try to open this application from workspace I get an error which i am specifying below.
Moreover I am not able to view consolidation administration tasks for HFM in workspace. Also when I click on the application name in Shared Services under the HFM project, that gives the error too.
Workspace Error :
Error Code : 2147024891
Error Description : 006~ASP 0178~server.Create Object Access Error ~ The call to server.create object failed while checking permissions. Access is denied to this object.
Error Source : Error Opening Application
Shared Services Error:
Unable to contact the application. Please contact the system administrator.
Can nebody help?

Check the following:
1. The user being used for access in the IIS virtual directory has proper access.
2. The DCOM configuration and Application Cluster configuration are all fine.
3. The DCOM user has proper access
4. The IIS security for the HFM virtual directory is proper.
5. The user being used has proper access in Shared Services.

Switch Workspace error message after update to 4.5.1

I don't think this is a big deal compared to some of the other upgrade issues people seem to be having, but when I launch 4.5.1 I get the "Switch Workspace" error message. Checking the box seems to make it go away the next time I launch FB 4.5.1.
When I upgraded from FB4 to FB4.5 I exported my workspaces/projects over a new directory, which was kind of a pain. Checking that "Do not... " is probably the better approach if it doesn't affect the workspace.

Digital Editions is supported via webcase only, at http://www.adobe.com/support/contact. There is no phone support, so if you phoned support and were given an incorrect answer we'd like to know (the correct answer would have been to create a support case for you!)
If you have more specifics on where you were told that there was no support except forums please let me know so we can attempt to correct it.
What we now have on this thread are two different errors, probably unrelated.

"441 Could not authenticate..."
This means that the request back to the authentication server failed for some reason. There can be a number of reasons for this. If this is an ebook from a vendor contact the vendor first and make certain it's not an activation error on their end. Also check to see if you get similar errors on the free books at http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/. Errors with the free books would indicate a possible network problem such as a firewall or some caching preventing the call back to the activation server from working.

Workspace error while accessing HP V11.1.1.4

Hello,
We just migrated from Version 9.3.1 to V11.1.1.4. When accessing Hyperion Planning via workpace, we get an error:
'There was communication error while loading tree data' .
Has any one come across similar error while doing so? If so what was the fix.
This error does not come while using the HP url.

Workspace error while opening FR report?

Hi,
I created a new group and assigned some of users to that group.Im able to login the Workspace.But when I tried to open any Fr report its givving"Local//// Error(1051293):Login fails due to invalid login credentials" .
When i click Ok on this warning window ,then Database connection Properties window is appearing with credentials. If I retype the same password im able to run the report.,and then im able to open other reports also.Only for the first time its giving that error.
Could you plz guide me to resolve this issue.

Issue seems to be with the database connection. May be some changes in password happened in database connection. Edit the database connection and check whether the credentials are given properly or not. If not try to reset it. If it looks ok, relogin and check whether the report is prompting for credentials or not.
If it is still prompting after resetting the credentials also try to create a new database connection, assign to form and check whether you are getting prompting or not.

Workspace Error while granting permissions

Hi-
I need help on this error. An error window will pop up every time I right clicked on a report/folder at workspace and try to grant access to report/folder (as native admin). (Right click on report/folder and choose Properties)
Recently I migrated the HSS and Essbase server into 931 while the BI still in 930, I used the CSSExportImport utilities to move over the user/group from old hss, my colleagues also created a script to mapped the old DN to the new DN record via SQL (native=111111 mapped into native=00000). With this CSS util and mapped script we can moved the newly created user with new DN to sync with security set workspace.
Right now, the workspace is working, security is working, grouping security is working, individual accesses are working, everything is working. The only problem is I can't change/add/delete any access, while the old access still there and working.
Below is the error msg.

Unable to perform request
A general error was encountered contacting the server.
Detailed MEssage: AUTHEN_CSSGetGroupsFailed
Recommended Action: Contact your corporate technical support.

Can you give us some information on the version you are using and your security setup? Are you using an external security provider? Because to me it sounds that you are using an external LDAP server.
