Workspace Hangs - V11.1.1.3

Hi All,
We are able to open EAS,Planning,Shared services.....but workspace is not opening at all....
When we type in the workspace URL and enter ....it just hangs in there......
We are in 11.1.1.3 Version. Essbase,Sharedsrvices,Planning,Reporting all are installed on Single Unix server.

Are you sure its hanging? Sometimes Workspace can take a little while to load when opening it for the very first time.

Workspace hangs when trying to open HFM applicaiton?

hello,
2 weeks ago on multiple occasions users were unable to connect to our HFM application through Smartview. In all cases restarting all services corrected the issue.
I didn't have a lot of time to trouble shoot prior to restarting to allow users to connect again, but i have following info.
I could login to Workspace but when I tried to open the HFM application it went to the back and forth starting app window forever.
Shared service would come up and allow me to enter my userid and password but hen it would hang.
I thought earlier that we were have problems with our connectivity to the ldap server, but since I can log in to workspace that can't be the case.
Any ideas as to where I should look next?

Howz the security is being setup in Shared Services ..Is it Native groups and then LDAP Users are provison to the Native Groups ..Or is there is any LDAP Groups

"about" menu item in workspace hangs webserver.

We have two workspace instances installed on two servers . We use a Microsoft ISA server to loadbalance between this two servers. If we open the workspace site from the loadbalanced url and we open the menuitem "about"; the workspace server hangs. Only after restarting IIS and workspace windowsserver on the webserver it runs again. Looking at the js file with the menuitem (i thought it is bpm.js) it looks like there is a variable in the menuitem name. This might be the cause. I Hope anyone can provide us with a solution or a lead to look at.

Altough we use Microsoft ISA server as a loadbalancer I doubt if any other loadbalancer (weblogic?) would work fine. Can anyone test this on their OTA environment to see what happens.
By the way it could be related to the fact that a lot of the nl.js files are missing on the workspace server. We have dutch installation (and dutch local) and the webserver is always complaining that its requests for the nl.js files are not fullfilled since the files do not exist.

HFM/Workspace Navigation Hang Ups

Hello Experts,
I have been facing an issue in my environment where users will intermittnelty become hung up within workspace while accessing the HFM application. A lot of times it seems like when you double click on a grid, run a consolidation, navigate between screents, HFM will hang up and the user will be forced to close out of internet explorer and reopen to temporarily resolve the issue. Has anyone else seen this issue or does anyone have any advice for how to make navigation of HFM within workspace more managable or smoother?

IE: 8
HFM Application Server Specs: 8 CPUs 24 GB of RAM
HFM JVM Settings: 8 gb of allocated RAM
SQL Server 2008 R2
I have investigated at the OS and database layer and have not been able to itentify a bottleneck.

Workspace server hangs

Hi,
When try to access Help --> About Hyperion@Workspace on the Workspace Console, the workspace server hang and require to restart the services.
We are on Hyperion System 9.3.1 and here are the config,
1. Two load balanced Workspace servers. Weblogic 9.1 is running on these
2. One HFM App server
3. One HFM Web server
4. One Shared Services Server
Siteminder SSO has been implemented to log in to workspace console.
The workspace throw's the following error message in the workspace.log file,

If you disable SiteMinder does the hanging problem go away? When working with SiteMinder in 11.1.1.2 it had quite a few quirks and I assume 9.3.1 integration wasn't too much better.

Workspace error while accessing HP V11.1.1.4

Hello,
We just migrated from Version 9.3.1 to V11.1.1.4. When accessing Hyperion Planning via workpace, we get an error:
'There was communication error while loading tree data' .
Has any one come across similar error while doing so? If so what was the fix.
This error does not come while using the HP url.

Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with msg "Authenticating User.."

Hi,
Periodically Hyperion Workspace Will Hang with the Message "Authenticating User.." after Supplying the Username and Password for the Login. But FDM, Smartview are working fine. The problem is only with workspace.
No errors has been recorded in HSvevent log and workspace logs.
We are using Weblogic application server and the version is 11.1.1.3.
It is working fine once we restart the Hyperion workspace- Agent service.
Please advice the possible root causes for this, so that we can put a permanent fix for this issue.

I've encountered this issue in my slow network environment, and it was rectified after we've done the following:
Enable IE ActiveX controls:
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options
3. On the Security tab, click the Custom level button
4. Scroll down the Security Settings list until you see ActiveX controls and plug-ins
5. Enable Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls
6. Scroll down to Download signed ActiveX controls and click Enable or Prompt
7. Scroll down to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins and click Enable or Prompt
8. Scroll down to Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting and click Enable or Prompt
9. Click OK, and then click OK again
Add 3 DWord items to the registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
ReceiveTimeout 900000
KeepAliveTimeout 900000
ServerInfoTimeout 900000
These values are in milliseconds. So, 900000 is 15 minutes
Access URL using the pop-up: http://server:19000/workspace, not the http://server:19000/workspace/index.jsp <-- not sure what's the differences on how this works, but apparently it worked well in my slow network environment.
Increase the workspace server timeout settings.
Use supported browsers in the Oracle certification matrix.

Withing Workspace it is hanging when we select the POV

When we want to run a BI report within the HFM Workspace (version 9.3.1.4), it is hanging / freezing on us when we want to choose a different POV. Does anyone have an idea what the issue might be?
We currently have a workaround to click on "Preview User Point of View" and we TYPE in the members into the POV boxes, but when we choose the POV and click OK, it hangs/freezes. No error message appears. The workaround works for us at Corporate, but might be causing problems for our users world wide.

It does - it points to a library corruption - backup your iPhoto library and depress the option and command keys and rebuild the library - try from the last automatic database back up first - if that does not work try the other options - if those do not do it then use iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - to rebuild

Workspace for Weblogic 10gR3 keep hanging JVM terminated. Exit code=107380

My workpace 10gR3 IDE sometime will hang when I was coding half way. The cause of it occurrence is always different.
When I force shut down the workspace, the following error is display.

Elements hangs at reading workspace modes

I have Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. Elements has worked for quite awhile before. I have version 11. Trying to get in today it hangs at "REading Workspace Modes". How do I get the application to continue and open?

Gnome 3 hanging when I switch workspaces

Recently, Gnome 3 has begun hanging when I switch workspaces, sometimes for as long as 10 seconds or so. It's seriously affecting usability. Anyone have any ideas about how to fix it or at least diagnose the problem? I will happily post any config files or command output. Thank you.

There should be a file named: <reposname>.rop in the repos directory of your
Forte environment. It is a log of the repository operations. You may get some
clue as to what is happening there.

Looks like the Locate command causes iTunes v11.1 to hang

I was using iTunes at a party last night when I noticed that issuing Command+L causes iTunes to hang when it is playing a song in one playlist and I'm viewing another playlist. Anyone else see this?

Analytic Workspace Manager possible bug: Maintain Cube hangs

I am a newbe, I have been following the tutorial "Building OLAP 11g Cubes". http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/olap_cube/buildicubes.htm
After the step "Maintain Cube SALES_CUBE", I got the information box "Loading facts for cube SALES_CUBE"...on the screen for the last 4 hours.
Is this normal? Should I kill the process and start again?
I am running Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 on a Virtual Machine with Windows Server 2008 Standard SP1 with 1GB RAM.
The Analytic Workspace Manager is 11.2.0.1.0 running on a Windows XP SP3.

It all started after I tried to add a calculated measure to an existing cube (something I have done before in 11g...a feature I love).
This is too bad, so far I've been loving 11g Olap as compared to 10g Olap. But now 11g is starting to crop up these bullshit bugs as well. I guess OLAP is still too crappy to rely on for production....good thing I won't recommend a rollout of this product to my clients. It's a great tool for having fun with development, but using Oracle Olap + AWM in a real company is career suicide.
