Workspace Java error on book setup

Dear all,
Environment:
EPM 11.1.2.1 with latest patch PSU 102.
Financial Reporting/Workspace with below Essbase.
Currently we get following java error when doing a book setup in Workspace +(File/Open/In Editor)+:
h3. nested exception is: java.lang.NumberFormatException: null.
The error can be reproduced (nearly) consistently. As a linked consequence of the errormessage, the Book Setup window on the right of the list of reports is unable to show any book options (like A4 or Consecutive page numbering,..). But the Add document option is fine and working.
Book and reports were imported from 9.3.1 but we noticed that the error is also happening with new books, old books with nearly everything cleaned out,....
Other tests done:
- clear local browser caches => no effect
- browser directly on server => no difference
Oracle helpdesk is currently working on this and thinks it might be linked to Books being in a non-letter format mode (we use A4).
Does anyone else has this type of problem?

ps extra info:
Regional and language settings of the server with FR, workspace, FR print are ok according to Oracle helpdesk.
The server settings are set to english_us and the local browser language also is set to english_us.
Two environments exists (production and test); problem happens in both.
Test environment has got 3 servers, essbase and database in a server
Web applications, weblogic, FR , EAS,APS.opmn, ohs, frprint, fr studio in one machine

I hope someone can help! Our published project (Webhelp) had been working just fine on IE8. I'm not sure if there was an update to the browser, but suddenly none of the books will expand and the following Java error displays: Help! My users are not happy.

Ps: I made sure my Robohelp software had downloaded the latest updates and then re-published the project. That didn't help.

That looks more like a javascript error, not a java error. Different things.
Please see the Sticky Topic Before You Post and note the section Include the Edition and Version.
Does the output work when accessed from the folder to which you generate, which should be local?

Java 2 runtime Environment setup failed with a return code of -1

Hi!
I have tried to install sdk 1_3_1_01 on Windows 2000 with ServicePack 2 and the error "Java 2 runtime Environment setup failed with a return code of -1" occured. As I saw, a lot of people has the problem but couldn't find a solution on this page!

I've installed 1.3.1_01 on both W2K Workstation and Server, no problem. There's a bug report, but no workaround or solution.

Portal V2 - java error when registering provider

(system setup is as follows)
0. DOWNLOADED Portal V2 (OS = Windows 2000 Professional)
1. Installed IAS-infrastructure) in directory c:\oracle\ias
2. Installed IAS-midtier (portal & wireless) in directory c:\oracle\portal
3. Tried to install PDK from the downloaded file and into the same directory as IAS-infrastructure (as per the installation guide) but was forced to provide a new directory. Installed successfully in c:\oracle\pdk (NOTE: All services for instances ias, portal and pdk were started using Oracle Enterprise Manager Website; the OC4J processes were up and running)
The problem occurs when trying to register a new provider as indicated in:

Should I de-install the PDK installed from the Portal V2 Distribution and re-install it with a standalone PDK download and hand configuration of the parameter files?

Sorry, false alarm - it works OK now.
The mistake was that while registering the new sample provider, I had entered the name of the new provider in "Service ID", instead of using one of the providers that were available - eg "sample"
It worked OK when I used "sample"

SMC was working fine for me before installing 121308-12. Then it began throwing the following upon startup of SMC and would not recognize any hosts with the webconsole service running. Backing it out does restore operation. Has anyone else seen this?

Managed System - error in SSO setup

i am doing Managed system configuration but stuck on "step 8 - Configure Automatically" with below error.
My SOLMAN version is 71 SPS11.
Error while calling Diagnostics setup web service. Check note 1822831.

I have check the note 1822831 but not help at all.
Also, i have tested the webservice connection with out issue and JAVA UME master client have set to client 100.
i have also able to login to http://localhost:50000 with user SM_INTERN_WS without issue.
Basically i have the same error for SAPRouter setup, Extractors Setup, Introscope Host Adapter and Generate System-level Metrics in this step 8.
It seen like authorization issue. But i have no idea where to verify the user id and authorization.
Kindly advise.

I did change the amAdmin password, because I was using the same password for admin and amAdmin.
I can log in to http://server_name:82/amserver with amAdmin username and password (even at that time as well when I was using the same password for admin and amAdmin). Its means integration between directory and identity is ok because I can see correct credentials for LDAP under service configuration tab on amconsole link.
So it seems like the commcli is not working correct. Should I have to delete the application hosted under server1 and deploy it again using commcli-server.war, Under directory server delete all the entries under o=comms-config for commcli and commcli itself and run the config-iscli again?

6.- I have seen similar errors in some forums, but all of them solved the issue setting the CLASSPATH correctly.
Have somebody got this error previuosly? What more I can check?

The error message most likely occurs due to incorrect setup of the CLASSPATH environment variable.
Can you ask the customer to check whether he can access the database through JDBC with the following java program ?

2. set the Java environment :

Java error during AnyConnect install

Just installed an ASA 5505 with AnyConnect Essentials. AnyConnect installation works fine on some windows boxes (All flavors) but have a couple machines with issues. This makes it clearly a computer side issue. When I try to log into the ASA to download the client with IE 9 the ASA just keeps asking for my logon credentials. If I I use Firefox my credentials work and I get as far as the "Using Sun java for installation" with instructions to click yes on the java security warning. The Java Security warning never arrives like on machines that don't have this problem. Firefox just hangs and has to be killed by task maanger. Remove and reinstall of both Java and Firefox fail to correct the problem. Anyone got AnyConnect clientside recovery tips beyond Java and Browser reinstall? Clearly I could reimage the system to fix the issue but something less shotgunny would be nice...:)
A Google search show a few folks using Ubuntu and old PPC Macs seeing the same java error I get on these couple of windows boxen(see below)

It's more of a politcal thing with the customer to tell them that the Web install works 'sometimes'. As for the version, v3.x is more than 5 times larger than it's 2.5 counterpart. (26MB vs. 4.6MB) while you can stuff the 3.0 pkg onto the older 5505s there's not much flash: room for other packages after that. That is why as a rule I don't use 3.0. Now in this case, it is a newer ASA with the increased RAM and flash but I'm still on the fence as to what the extra 21MB of code buys me when it comes to basic anyconnect essentials connectivity.

You should have a path, com/wrox/library/Book.class. When you launch the program, you must use the fully qualified class name and the directory which contains the com directory must be in the class path. For example if you have c:\myjava\com\wrox\library\Book.class then the command to use isjava -classpath c:\myjava com.wrox.library.Book

Discoverer 9iASv2: does not run, produces java errors

I am evaluating Discoverer9ias v2 for my company. We have set up 9iAs infrastructure on a Win2K box, with the main 9ias BI and Forms on another Win2K box.
After installing everything, the disco plus demo ran fine for a few hours. After that the 9ias admin website and the demo stopped responding. A reboot of main 9ias box was required to fix this. And on the main 9ias servers admin website, the discoverer status always appears as unknown.
We added a few public connections. The last public connection I tried to define had only the databse service name in it. I was trying to find out if Disco Plus will prompt the user for a userid/password. On clicking 'Apply' I got a Java error. I don't know if the connection got created or not. Since then, Discoverer is NOT WORKING AT ALL!

9ias Restarts and reboots have not helped. The Discoverer Services Configuration page on the 9ias admin website has a 'General Discoverer' option for creating and changing connections. But, clicking on this link also produces an error, even though 'Discoverer Viewer' and 'Discoverer Portlet Provider' links seem to work fine. This is the error:

A few tips creating a public connection:
1) Always use capital letters when typing a EUL name
2) Never leave blank userid or password when defining public connections.
Althought these are fixed in the up coming patch, you just need to follow the tips for the 9.0.2.39

I cannot get past this error. I am running Sharepoint Foundation 2010 with Sp1. This is on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Server +Sp1.

I finally figured this out, The issue was that I had put in the Self Service Portal Computer Name and Service account into the Service Manager SQL as SysAdmin, once I removed it flew through just fine.
