Workspace layout Setup

Computer crashed after 6 years of using Dreamweaver 4. Cannot set workspace layout by following the manual pages 32 and 55. I want the layout to include the all-in-one-window intergrated layout with windows and panels in a single larger application window. I do not have a CHANGE WORKSPACE button in the gereral category list.

Workspace isn't set or changed from preferences. It's in the Window menu from the toolbar/menubar. You need to click Window>Workspace Layout> New Workspace and set the panels you use where you want them, then save that workspace as your default.

I have a dual-screen setup - Workspace Layout Panels - not functioning properly.

I have a dual-screen setup and since updating to 10.10.2, the panels open on the main screen - and not in the positions as they were saved in a Workspace layout.
Tried trashing the prefs - which works, but when I save a new Workspace layout, it does the exact same thing.

Dreamweaver cs5.5 workspace layout not correct

I have recently gotten Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5 for my online courses and for manipulation of my website, and it does not seem to have the correct workspace layout as shown in most all tutorials in its use. An example of what I mean:

The screen you are seeing is called the 'Welcome screen' and is the fist screen that DW shows when it opens. The top screen is with a document open.
Can I suggest that you read through the pdf 'manual' or a good introductory book for DW before proceeding further, otherwise you will find DW very difficult to use/learn.

Adobe Bridge CS4 doesnt keep workspace layout and folders from previous session.

After I was working with my photos in specific folder I set workspace layout to specific size of UI elemenst. Like preview windows size, thumnnail size, navigator panel size and so on. When I restart my PC and launched Bridge again - it is again meessed up nad set to some strage sizes and the main bugger it doesnt preserve folder I was working before.
What might be a problem?

Assuming that you are closing Bridge correctly and not just shutting down the computer, the fault is probably with the fact that Bridge is Autostarted in the background due to it being enabled in Bridge preferences.
Setting that as default was a big mistake from Adobe.

Working with Multiple Files in Workspace Layout

If I was working with multiple files in the workspace layout, they each used to be available for selection from a tab. Now I can either cascade the files horizontally or vertically - but not have them appear in a tab across the top of the workspace layout.
Does anyone know how to set the workspace to present multiple files in tabs? I have CS3.

This may not help, but the times when that happens to me is when I go too fast and some operations haven't finished. I then try to select a file that hasn't completed and the file I select is in the process of having the data updated. The worst is when it is trying to render as I am doing something.

The Insert panel has been reworked pretty significantly in DWCC (Spry has been dead for over a year now, so it no longer appears for instance), but can still be opened via Window > Insert then dragged to the toolbar location (to get the tabs back) by clicking and dragging the Insert tab up to the top of the application frame until it highlights. Once you drop it, it will then appear as a toolbar.
Not all of the tools will be visible at all times. DWCC knows when certain things can't technically be used and it won't display them if they can't be inserted.

Workspace Layout problem

When I try to use Dreamweaver CS3 I get a box which states
"The following panel layout is missing or could not be read:
C://program files/adobe/adobe dreamweaver
cs3/configuration/workspace/designer.xml
The application will not have a correct layout. Please load

I press ok and another box comes up which is blank...I press
ok and the
application ends.
Thus I cannot use dreamweaver!

Problem:
I had the same problem with Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 i get the following error:

I press ok and another box comes up which is blank...I press ok and the

Solution:
Go to your directory where Adobe was installed. In my case it was D Drive
D:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\configuration\workspace
In the "workspace" folder, copy all the XML Files.
Now Go to your "workspace" folder under the Application Data area of your C Drive of your profile
C:\Documents and Settings\userName\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS5\en_US\Configuration\Workspace
Delete all the xml files in there, and paste in the new ones you copied across from the installation directory.
Done ! Restart Your Dreamweaver and that should fix it !

Does Dreamweaver come with customized workspace layouts (designer, developer, etc)?

In the video tutorials, it appears that dreamweaver offers multiple workspace layout options (designer, developer, etc). My workspace menu only offers "compact" or "expanded" layouts. Am i missing something?

FR Report Print Layout Setup for Excel

Hello All,
Is there any way to setup the Page Layout for Excel export of the report.The user will export the report from HTML view on Workspace to Excel from File Menu options.After viewing the report in excel the user should be able to directly print the report without setting the page size and all.
The Page Set Up option seems to be working for PDF but not in excel.

As far as I know, this option is limited to pdf view. It could a nice enhancements in the upcoming versions as I've heard this request many times from various clients.

Workspace layout not being saved

After the latest update to CC2014, the workspace no longer remembers my layout even though I save and sync. What happens is everytime I open an html file it splits the code & design(and live) views horizontally. With a wide screen this doesn't make sense, I want the screen split vertically with the code on the left. That means everytime I open an HTML file I have to change the split view and where the design/live view displays.
How do I correct this to save my preference or is this a bug?

Did you Delete Preferences & create a new custom workspace?

SoaBPM 11g workspace user setup

I am trying to get the 11g soaBPM installation on Linux 64 working.
I had re-installed it and does not seem to be able to login to the Business Process workspace with the default weblogic/weblogic9 admin account.
(Side issue: was having a lot of problem finding out and getting the 11g components installed and working - prior to the re-install, the soa_server1 and bam_server1 disappeared from the WL admin console. Happened again on the second re-installed but let it sat for a day of two before logging into the WL admin console and the soa_server1 reappeared - so am guessing it takes some time when the weblogic server is restarted before the soa server shows up to boot).
I had generated an SR to Oracle and was told to try to create additional Adm accounts via the WL Admin console's Security Realm.
None worked. Just got a 'Invalid ID or password. Please try again'. Did a webonline consult with Oracle earlier today and Oracle support saw what I'm seeing.
Oracle support is going to do some more research. Meantime, hopefully someone in this community might have some knowledge on the following.
Been trying to trace down if the user account (re Participant) is stored in a DB table.
Was scanning through all the SOA schema's but was not able to find it.
Does anyone know where the user/participant is stored and how to add or check the configuration for it when I'm not even able to login with the adm account to do that in the Business Porcess workspace?
I'm not sure if user/participant is actually maintained via the WL Admin console's Security realm since the WL installation prompts for creating the WL admin account/password and so does the SOA BPM configuration which then implies the latter is for the Process administration and the former is for WL administration and thus could not be maintained via the same place.
Appreciate any enlightenment you can provide on how this works.

With regards to the em, I was suspecting that and was trying to install it (re linux 64 version).
Kept on running into problems with that install as well at the DB level - it kept on needed more DB resources that our DBA everntually got too concern about and halted any further attempts on it.
Oracle support had responded on that EM install problem by indicating I don't really needed EM to admin the obpm, but rather to login to the workspace as a bpm admin user. I was able to get in on the first install to that workspace with the adm acct 'weblogic' but something happened to that environment the next day that made it unusuable - don'r remember the details - which led me to have to uninstall and reinstall everything which led to the current problem where the weblogic admin acct or any WL account setup in the WL admin console could be used to login to the workspace.
On that first install, although I was able to see some admin functions on the workspace with the admin account, I was not able to find the user account adm page that the doc said should be there.
While waiting for Oracle support to respond to the lastest last Friday, I had found another set of 11g Oracle installation instruction page which seem a bit comprehensive and specific to just the obpm rather than being so cafeteria style that I had origianlly found for the obpm 11g downloads and installs. Tried that and it seemed smooth until near the end where I was doing the start servers but could not actually find the soa_server1 defined to even start. So had to abandon that instruction and go back to the original and try de-install and re-install again.
In the middle of that process at the moment and got Oracle SR respond that the user account problem is a known problem and to try creating a new domain. Unfortunately, that env is gone to try that part. Will do so if the reinstalls leads to the same problem.
So thanks for responding. The alternative 11g obpm installation page that had link to a sample and tutorial did also confirm your statement. Unfortunately, that was more for the windows platform and linux 32 bit platform whereas I'm working in the linux 64 bit version which I am starting to suspect may not be as usable yet.
I've been ignoring two warning messages in the obpm 11g installs as there was nothing I could do to avoid them. One was a warning about the soa 11.1.1.2.0 prereq check warning something about the OS. The other is during the soa config step, it complained the jdk was a lower version that required. It was set at the sun sdk 1.6.0 which is the required version. I'm suspect the warning was the requirement was the 4th level of the version required is 18 whereas I don't see a 4th level number on our sdk which implies it would be 0.
I don't see how these could lead to the various problems I've been having with the installation to work. Another funny installation problem was the soa 11.1.1.3.0 runinstaller kickoff in some occassions would not proceed due to the prereq checks indicating there was not enough free swap space. The installer said it needed 512M min and that there was only 511M avaialble (whereas the linux swapon -s command indicated there was 524m available and 0 used). In an earlier install, the avaialble swap space was 1G. I didn't notice who or what reduced it to 524M. On having our SA restore it back to 1G, the installer was able to continue in those incidents (had several of them over time).
Wondering, has anyone got the Linux 64 11g obpm engine working?

Need help saving Workspace layout

At Photoshop World, Julieanne Kost mentioned that she likes to have all of her panels to the left. I tried this at home and really like it like that, so I saved a new workspace.
My problem is that when I open a new image, the image window floats behind my left-sided panels and it drives me crazy!! This is the problem ....
I really want it to default to a location that I set for any new document that is created or image that is opened, but I can't figure out how to save that location and I've searched online and in the preferences. Can anyone help me make it default to this positon below??

Yes, there is a way to do this.
Start with a workspace that has the panels to the right.
Important: do not have any files open.
Also important: Open the panels you want showing by default, such as layers and swatches.
Now, as shown in the screenshot, drag the panels as a group by placing your mouse pointer where the red box is, then drag it to the toolbox until you see a blue line. This means the panels will be docked instead of floating, and will not allow your open documents under it.
Save the workspace, then open your files.

Fixing the Workspace layout

I have just upgraded from CS3 to CS5.5, Classic mode.
However even when I close all the panels on the right hand side of the workspace, there remains an unusable column that I would like to use for Design View or Code view, just so much wasted screen space. How do remove that unwanted wasted screen space?
