Workspace logs

Hi,
We use workspace to publish some files for end-user. Some time some user tell me that can not see a file and after checking I discovered that the user access on this file is disappeared.
How can I check if somebody remove it?
Thanks

Hi MJ,
Have you checked the Workspace admin guide? Also, are you talking about log rotation: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/bpmui_admin/ch10s04s04.html

  • Hyperion workspace log-in issue for only one (in Shared Services) active di

    Hi All,
    This is Raj, working as Hyp support analyst.
    I have big issue in Hyperion production environment. (version No. 9.3.1)
    Issue is, we had issues with TWO active directories of Hyperion Shared Servces which ad1 and ad2. We found that the TWO respective active directories (ad1 and ad2) of their hosts are not working.
    After that we changed those two active directories hosts with new host names respectively. We have implemented these changes in DEV first and those TWO active directories user able to access Hyperion workspace (HFM users) which are under ad1 active directory. offcourse we have all the servers as well.
    But ad2 users are NOT able log-in to the Production workspace but they are able to log-in with DEV workspace.
    Not really sure what happened... (Please note that, No access is changed for any of the users)... if it is LDAP issue...how it to resolve...
    Can some one please help oout in this...
    Thank you very much in advance.
    - Thanks,
    Raj.

    Hi,
    Those error messages usually happen when Shared Services has just started up and before the other services have started, it sends out a ping to see if it gets a response from the other application servers, the pings will fail until the other services have started, once they have started them messages should disappear.
    I would check that if any changes have happened to your MSAD or the account that shared services uses.
    Cheers

  • VS Workspace : "Data logging control" -- "Download target file to host" option

    Hi,
    I don't know how to use the "Download target log file to host" option available on the logger configuration from the VS workspace
    The log file on the target has to be downloaded to the host destination path ? but nothing appends and no errors too.
    Bonjour,
    Merci
    Best regards,

    You can use the Macros feature in the Workspace Log Control to play a macro before and after the logging operation to control the Embedded Data Logger to ensure that its logging starts and stops in order to properly download the log file. See the attached Engine Demo project for an example. It has an Embedded Data Logger instance in it, and its Workspace Log Control turns it on and off using macros recorded using the Macro Recorder tool.

  • No application into 'navigate' menu of workspace

    Hi All,
    After having researched into a lot of different forum topics, I couldn't find any answer that could help me solve this issue. Working with EPM 11.1.2.2, for maintenance reasons, I had to restart all services on our linux server. Since I have restarted the services, I'm not able to see any application under the navigate button of the workspace. Then, I tried to create a dummy application and register it and everything works fine (no error message), I can also access planning applications through HP direct weblink. But, unfortunately, can't see these applications under 'navigate' button.
    I've already tried to re-execute the configure web server of the config utility + stop-start services. I can also access to planning adminitration through workspace. No error when I execute the validation tool.
    Can also confirm this is not a display issue from IE (settings are correct).
    As I didn't do any changes except restarting services, I do not understand why I cannot see any HP application through workspace.
    Any ideas or suggestions ? It would be really helpful !! Thanks in advance !
    Regards,
    Laurent

    Ok, I checked the logs under the path you've mentionned in your post.

  • BPM 11g worksapce logs out on double click of bpm task from worklist

    Hi ,
    I have deployed my bpm project into the soa server and the UI project into another managed server(not into the soa server) under same admin server . I did follow the below mentioned links to complete the whole configuration to integrate the bpm project with the UI project.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_designtf.htm
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10226/hwf_mang.htm#SOAAG3757
    This is working fine ,I can open the page on single click of the task name from the bpm worksapce.
    The problem is :
    1) On double click the task name bpm workspace logs out.
    2) Just single click on the task name , the page will be open just below the bpm workspace (not in different window) ,after that you do any action it logs out the workspace ,even on refreshing the workspace also.
    Please suggest.
    very very thanks
    Tuku

    I do not think this is bug based on
    Oracle® Fusion Middleware Modeling and Implementation Guide for Oracle Business Process Management
    23.1.1 Understanding the Relationship Between SOA Composites and SOA Components
    "In a similar way, when an interrupting timer or message boundary event arrives to a user task, the BPMN process instance leaves the user task but the associated Human Task remains available. Because the interrupting timer or message boundary event arrived before the user completes the user task, the human task remains unfinished, and you can still access it thought the Worklist application. However running that human task does not have any effect on the BPMN process."
    This also gives us big trouble. I am looking for the solution.

  • BPM WorkSpace doesn't find my process

    Hi to all, i have a little problem with BPM workspace. I'm starting the Oracle BPM 10.3 Tutorial and i'm implementing the Expense Report Process.
    I created one participant, called Peter Jones and assign to him a Global Creation Activity in order to create an istance of this process and running it.
    As soon as i launch the workspace from BPM studio and i log into the workspace using Petr Jones's username, the workspace indicates that isn't able to find process so i can't run my tutorial. I try to read the log's workspace under $HOME_PATH\bea\albpm6.0\studio\log but i can't find the file workspace.log, so i was n o able to solve the problem. I try to change the value of fuego.workspace.imageServer(C:\bea\albpm6.0\studio\webapps\workspace\WEB-INF\workspace.properties), in http://localhost:7001/workspace how i read in a previous topics but i got just a graphical problem and nothing else.
    Thanks in advance, regards Fabio.

    I know you mentioned that you've done this, but double check and make sure you have assigned the role to your participant. In the "Project Navigator" tab, expand your project -> expand your project's "Organization" -> expand your "Participants" -> double click the participant you are using to log in with -> verify that your participant has the role (as a test, I'd suggest you assign the participant all the roles until you determine what's going on).
    It would be useful to know if you are getting any errors in your log. Inside Studio, click the "Log Viewer" folder. Open up the process and make sure the focus is on the process. With the log viewer opened below, click the refresh icon on the left side of the tab.

  • Workspace error message

    Hi all,
    One of our user got the below error message in workspace as prompt window in workspace while logging in.
    The repository object with uuid,00001380481050-0000-fb52uabf930f could not be found,+
    The response from the server contained an unexpected content type,+
    We have installed and configured Hyperion version 11.1.1.3.
    Where could i search for these kind of Oracle EPM System Workspace error as there is no info found in the workspace log directory.
    Let me know what was causing this issue and the solution.

    You can query the EPM 11 repository DB to find out the object ID (ie. uuid,00001380481050-0000-fb52uabf930f) in V8_Container table. But it usually it's not easily identified what each ID is for, and you might have to join other object table within the repository to figure that out.
    My question about your environment: is this a migrated version from v9? I found object to be corrupted during the migration and would become inaccessable in the new environment as a result. Any new object created in the new environment does not run into this type of issue.
    I have found Oracle DataModeler (freeware) on the Oracle site that allow me to generate a schematic relational diagram of the EPM 11 repository tables, which is useful sometimes.
    Good luck

  • Workspace error: hps.browser is not configured

    We have installed and configured Planning and our users access Planning via Workspace. They access Workspace using the URL: http://hostname:19000/workspace/index.jsp
    I have one user that gets an error when she logs into Workspace. The error is:
    “Required application module hps.browser is not configured. Please contact your administrator.”
    A little bit of background on our environment:
    <ul>
    <li>We are on System 9.3.1.5.
    <li>Shared Services user authentication has been externalized to MSAD.
    <li>When they log into Workspace, users are shown a list of reports. A native Shared Services group called “Hyp_World” is granted access to all reports. The Hyp_World group has been provisioned the following roles in Shared Services:
    <ul>
    <li>Analytic Servers: Server Access
    <li>Hyperion System 9 BI+ : Explorer
    <li>Hyperion System 9 BI+ : Viewer
    <li>Planning : Interactive User
    <li>Planning : Planner
    <li>Planning : Offline User
    </ul>
    <li>All MSAD users are members of the Hyp_World group
    <li>The user that is receiving the error is also a member of the following native Shared Services groups:
    <ul>
    <li>Hyp_Acct_Salary
    <ul>
    <li>Membership in this group restricts access to salary data within Planning
    <li>All Planning users (with the exception of Finance users) are members of this group
    </ul>
    <li>Hyp_Ent_IFS
    <ul>
    <li>Membership in this group determines the cost center for which the user can view data in Planning
    <li>The user that is receiving the error along with 4 others are members of this group
    </ul>
    </ul>
    <li>The Hyp_Acct_Salary group has been provisioned the following roles in Shared Services:
    <ul>
    <li>Analytic Servers: Server Access
    <li>Hyperion System 9 BI+ : Explorer
    <li>Hyperion System 9 BI+ : Viewer
    <li>Planning : Planner
    <li>Planning : Offline User
    </ul>
    <li>The Hyp_Ent_IFS group has been provisioned the following roles in Shared Services:
    <ul>
    <li>Planning:Planner
    </ul>
    </ul>
    When this user logs into Workspace she gets the error: “Required application module hps.browser is not configured. Please contact your administrator.” None of the other 4 users that are members of the Hyp_Ent_IFS group get this error.
    The user (with the error) can access Planning data via SmartView so it can’t be an MSAD authentication issue. After she gets the error in Workspace, if she clicks OK to get past the error, she can navigate to Planning and access her data. She doesn’t see the list of reports and hence cannot execute any of them.
    I’ve looked through the Essbase server log and the Planning Application log and didn’t find anything. I’ve looked through the Workspace log and didn’t find anything there either.
    I’ve removed the user from all 3 Shared Services groups, refreshed Security Filters, added her back in, refreshed Security Filters and she still gets the error. None of the other 4 users in the Hyp_Ent_IFS native group have this error when they log into Workspace. They see the list of reports.
    Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there some debug parameter that I can turn on to see additional log data as she logs into Workspace to determine why she is getting this error while none of the other 4 users in the same group are not?

    Turns out the user's preferences was set to open to Scorecard. Since we don't use Scorecard those services are not up and hence the error "hps.browser is not configured". I had her change her preference to default to Explore and now she is able to login without error.

  • Workspace not working properly with planning

    Hi,
    When we try to access the planning application through workspace all menu's are coming as jumbled up. We are using IE 9 and distributed environment where workspace and planning are in different server.
    Please find below error from workspace.log file

    Which version and patches have been applied? Has it ever worked, have you applied the setting defined in the Oracle Support doc - "Internet Explorer (IE7, IE8 and IE9) Recommended Settings for Oracle Hyperion Products [ID 820892.1]"
    The "Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints" IE setting is usually one that can mess up menus if not enabled.
    Cheers

  • 11.1.3 workspace web context issues

    Hi all,
    I am running an apparently successfully configured version of 11.1.1.3. Everything was working fine, until I stopped all the services so that I could take a backup, and then restarted them manually in the order recommended by Oracle. Now the following things happen:
    When I try to access workspace it won't let me login. When I close the page and launch it again, it lets me log in, but I get a 404 error.
    I can't access the webcontext for any other applications such as say Planning. http://servername:19000/HyperionPlanning or http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning or http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/logon.jsp or http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/appwizard.jsp - none of these work, "Page cannot be displayed".
    What I can access funnilly is http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/AddDimension.jsp. I had worked with my dimensions intially right after configuration when things were working, and so this link happened to be in my address bar selection. Through this link, I am able to access planning, edit dimensions, data forms etc.
    oh and the EPM Diagnostic says all the web contexts are available.
    My workspace logs from C:/Hyperion/logs are as below. Main error that I see is highlighted in bold:

  • Workspace : Unexpected error during interactive component execution

    Hi !
    During execution, we have random events where this error appears. It appears for different field names and objects. The error code is displayed in the workspace and this is an excerpt of the workspace log.
    We have 2 workspaces using websphere. We noticed that in the past, a few times this was solved by synchronizing the nodes. I does not get fixed like that anymore.
    Any clues? this same deployed application worked in the past, it was not updated.
    THANKS,
    Regards,
    Matias
