Workspace not retaining presets

I'm running Premiere 5.5 and recently it has stopped holding onto my Workspace settings. I had set up a custom Workspace on my second monitor and used it for weeks. Now all the items in the worplace are centered in my second monitor when I open Premiere I've also noticed that the loading screen purple "box" and loadout information are now seperated.
I can take theWorkspace back to the custom preset by going into the Workspace menu tab and selecting "Reset Current Workspace" But I've never had to do that before.
Any ideas? Is there a preference file that may be damaged? I do remember shocking myself on the computer case a while back on a particularly cold, dry day, but can't recall if this started after that.
Any help would be appreciated.

The first thing that I would do is check the version/date of your video driver, and if it is not the latest from nVidia, or ATI/AMD, I would update and test.
The description of the problem does not strike me as being a video driver, but that will get it out of the way early.

I am experimenting with linear workflow, exporting some 16 and 32 bit files from my 3D app, and compositing in After Effects.
When I opened media encoder, and dragged my file in as usual, I immediately noticed the preview footage was darker, and it looks like it isn't accepting the "linearize workspace" setting that I enabled in AE options
is there a step that I need to take before going to media encoder to "bake" this setting in?
very new to linear workspace, 16/32 bit files---appreciate your help

Could be a limitation. Use a Color Profile converter/ Exposure effect on the layer in the comp instead.

Printing Presets Problem, Not Retaining Settings Assigned To A Preset.

I have a 10.5.8 client computer that is experiencing problems with saved printer presets not retaining the paper tray assigned to that preset. It works for other printers but not this one particular printer. I have tried the following.
1. Repair disk permissions.
2. Delete the troublesome printer presets and recreate them.
3. Reset printing system and re-add printers and recreate all printer presets.
4. Ran Onyx maintenance scripts, cleared caches, etc.
5. Re-applied 10.5.8 combo update.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In SAP DMS Whatever document that are linked to an Object Such as PO, PR , Material, WBS element, Sales order Item cannot be printed directly.
Mean Suppose if you are Printing PO and want to Print also Documents linked to PO line items , this is not possible in standard SAP.You will have to do ABAP Enhancements.

The workspace I set up is also gone. I have every explorer box and cleaner checked to save recent. Had to disable nivedia desktop software because of weird display conflict. Have Dell pro support and they cannot fix. Any ideas to help me with this would be appreciated.

Self-solved! I work in column view in Finder so get there in a Finder window with folders and files appearing.
There really is no problem, just select an ITEM in the COLUMN before right-clicking!
The "old" context menu will appear. If you click in the white space in that column (or anywhere in a Finder window) and then place the cursor over a folder or file WITHOUT selecting it and right-click you will bring up the secondary context menu - Open, Copy, Duplicate, View Options and a greyed out Labels option. No "Move to Trash".

MP3 song information not retained after iTunes 7.0 - ID3 tags at fault?

I'm having some strange problems with track information in iTunes. I first noticed it when I tried to copy some mp3's from my Mac to my mobile phone: certain tracks did not retain the song information, like artist, album etc., while others did.

However, my problem seems to be a little bit more specific.
If I look at the music in my library in iTunes, all the track information is there. However, for MP3's encoded after 16th October last year, the "Imported With" field, using Get Info, is shown as "Unknown". Before this date, it is shown as "iTunes v7.0". For all MP3's the ID3 version is v2.2.
I believe that I must have upgraded to iTunes 7.0.1 around this time, since I have a number of Apple Lossless audio files which have also been imported and don't show this problem.
The main problem is with the file ID3 tag information (I think). If I select one of the problem tracks, find the original file, open it up in Quicktime and "Get Info", no track/album/artist/composer information is displayed. This is NOT true for 1) MP3's encoded before 16th October 2006 and 2) Apple Lossless files encoded at any time.
In other words, the track information for songs encoded with iTunes 7.0.1 and later is either encoded in a way that no other application can read, OR is only being stored in the iTunes playlist, NOT the file itself. I can see all the track information for these problem files on my iPod, but NOT my mobile phone (where I have to manually copy them over), even if I drag and drop them directly from iTunes.
I have this problem with Quicktime, my mobile phone music player and RealPlayer, so I'm assuming it's "system wide". It even occurs if I copy a problem file out of my music folder and onto the the Desktop, then manually add the track to iTunes: all the song information has disappeared.
I have all my music stored on an external hard disk - 160GB Freecom ToughDrive formatted as HFS+. Previously it was stored on an external disk formatted as FAT32, but copying the files over to the new disk didn't change the problem.
I considered using the "convert ID3 tags" option to see if it would make a difference, but both the good and bad files are listed as using v2.2. I also don't understand enough about them to feel confident converting them to something different - perhaps to v2.3 or v2.4 - just to see if it makes a difference.
Any information on how to "recover" the missing information (for anything other than iTunes) would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, some more information as I try and track down the source of the problem.
By using an id3 tag editing program - ID3 Editor - I was able to view the song information for each track, even though all the other music players I had tried would not show it. If I then chose to modify and update the ID3 information, this would somehow modify the tags in such a way that they become readable in all other programs.
I tried using the "Convert ID3" tags option in iTunes, just on a whim, but without any success. Saving the song information in ID3 Editor doesn't change the version of the ID3 tag - it's still listed as v2.2 in iTunes - but it DOES make it readable in other programs. I also tried the various text conversion options, again without any success.
This looks to me like a bug in iTunes. While its possible for me to get around it, in an extremely long winded way, I still can't understand why iTunes would be writing ID3 information that other Apple programs cannot read.
Any suggestions? Should I be posting this question in a different forum perhaps?

Reports not retaining carriage returns from htmldb_item.textarea

Im created a tabular form for multi row updates using htmldb_item.textarea for one of the fields. When I update the tabular form it keeps any carriage returns in this field, which is good. I then created a PL/SQL function body returning a SQL Query report for printing purposes. The problem is that the field populated by the htmldb_item.textarea does not retain any of the carriage returns in the report.
I enter the following in the textarea on the tabular form:
Line 1
Line 2
Line 3
The report I created then displays the data as:
Line 1 Line 2 Line 3
I need the report to display the data the same as it appears on the tabular form.
I tried this in my report from reading other similar situations on this forums, but didnt work.

The second box in this page is Column formatting, you will find 4 text boxes (Number / Date Format, CSS Class, CSS Style, Highlight words) and a text area (HTML Expression). In the text area replace #COLUMN_ALIAS# with <PRE>#COLUMN_ALIAS</PRE>. You will get your newlines without tweaking the query or removing Strip HTML. Strip HTML is a security feature that I would not disable. On the down side you will loose some of the ability to format like fonts etc (:-(,
Here is why you loose the newlines in the report. When browsers render html they have the liberty to reformat it. When reformating they can play around with whitespaces including new lines. To force a new line you have to use the BR tag or you can say the text is preformated using the PRE tags.

Since I upgraded to ISo6 my iPhone 4s will not retain Wifi passwords

I'm hope that someone can help as this problem is driving me NUTS.
Since I upgraded both my Iphone 4s and Ipad 3 to ISO6. I've had nothing but problems with Wi-Fi access, inititally neither machine would remember the home networks (or any others) then suddenly the IPad3 fixed itself but still my Iphone 4s will not retain the password.
It was always able without any problems to retain the passwords for any Wi-Fi networks before the upgrade - but no more.
I've tried pretty much everything that I read about from a reboot, resetting the wifi setting, resetting all settings, a factory reset and a restore - nothing helps! The iphone connects to the network no problem - but if you go out or if the phone locks and more than 30 minutes goes by - it'll have forgotten the networks and will require that you reenter the password. Which is getting more than annoying.
Given what I've tried I'm thinking that the software somehow got screwed up a little when it installed and I need to completely reinstall the ISO. I also noticed the personnel hotspot is missing!
Any help really appreciated as it's driving me crasy.

I read someone said you can tap on "other" when selecting which wifi you connect to and then entering the exact wifi name of the network you wish to join and the password and then joining that network allowed the password to be saved. Also with iOS 6 the minimum length of the password needs to be 8 characters. Maybe you password on your router is less than 8 characters long

In Tcode BP, I am selecting a Role with the Business Partner number. COMPANY CODE Push button on the Top is Enabled and Click on that.
Enter the Company Code and provide the Account management tab by providing Reconciliation Acct 120113, Sort key as 035, Planning Group as E1. Go to Payment Transaction Tab, Enter the Payment terms as Z003, check Record payment history. Now, Click on SAVE Button on the TOP.
The issue is that, The screen values are not retained in the Payment terms tab and Customer is not Created after saving of a BP Number which is related to a Customer.

New BOM Items ordered not retained on click ofUpdate in BOB (OOB) shop

Hello Experts,
We are using BOM material in our Business Process. Per Business requirement, the BOM sub-items are not required to be displayed on the Order Page of ISA webshop in OOB scenario.
Hence we have set the parameter "ui.fields.order.bomExplosion"to 'hidden' in XCM Setting.screenshot attached.
After making this change, we are experiencing the issue where we are not able to add any new BOM items to existing Orders, especially in the scenario where all blank line items are filled in with new BOM Products. When we click on Update, the new items are not retained and disappear.
Help is very much appriciated.

We find out the problem this was the SAP product Bug in the class SalesDocumentParser method parseItems the iteration count is worng. Its not taking care about the Bom items. Instead of interating the loop through index SAP is iterating through values. So we implemented the solution for the same.

each tab has a different name, so, even if it did, it
ought to give the printouts the name of the tabs.
It doesn't print each page as a separate job unless the orientation is different - that's the bug. And the name of the job is taken from the name of the window, not the name of the tabs. That's how every application works, which, I think, is why Excel allows the specific selection or the active sheets to be printed.
Still, that does sound like a plausible explanation.
However, even if presented with multiple prints with
the same name, the spooler should print each one!
The spooler does print each one - you can watch the spooler process the multiple jobs. I think, though, that they are being overwritten since all the jobs have the name of the window as the job title. And since this happens after the Save Dialog is presented, there's really nothing the application can do. To Excel, it's one job, the multiple orientations don't matter; it's just that Apple doesn't handle it correctly.
As a workaround, you can print the selections one at a time and give them unique names and then rejoin them in one PDF file.

InDesign CS6 will not retain preferences

One of my users was recently upgraded from CS5 to Design and Web Premium CS6. The first issue is that the InDesign program crashes for no apparent reason from time to time. Secondly, the InDesign program will not retain any preferences. If the program crashes and is restarted, the preferences are lost. Also, if the program is closed normally and reopened, the preferences are lost. This started happening about one month ago and prior to that, there were no problems.
I have searced the forums and internet for a solution and while I've been able to find similar issues with other users, I cannot find a resolution. Re-installaiton of the program has not produced a resolution. Can anyone assist with this frustrating problem.

I'm sorry Pete...I didn't quite get your response. Can you reboot into safe mode, disable all drivers, turn off your virus protection, uninstall the latest service pack and then reinstall it, check your fonts because bad fonts can cause problems in getting responses through.

My only issues are that I came her for help and would rather have a dozen people shrug their shoulders and say "IDUNNO" rather than getting the same old questions about drivers, service packs, virus protection, firewalls or first born male childs birthdate. While I may have been aggressive in looking for a solution....I did find your responses to be a bit patronizing and belittling. I do not disrespect you.
A different philosophy? ABSO-FREAKING-LOUTLEY!!! I'm more of a "fix the problem guy". Forget the amputation...put the poor ******* out of his misery and perform a Frankenstein ritual to bring him back to life (My analogy for a quick re-image from my deployment server). Fortunately for me, I was able to solve the issue by simply recreating a user profile.

Scroll bar does not retain its position after or before pack

My Scroll bar does not retain its position after pack in my application.
But i need to retain its state.
My code snippet is :

But my positon of scroll bar is at 0 th location.

LR3 not retaining attributes after trip thru ext. editor

Unless I'm missing some setting somewhere, LR3 does not retain the image attributes (color label, star rating) on a new file created as a result of a trip thru an external editor, ie PS. LR2 did.
workflow:
in LR3, filter down to your (for example) 4 star photos.
select one, right click, select "edit in external editor". I pick Photoshop CS3 (I'm 100% DNG user).
I have "edit a copy with LR adjustments" selected, as well as "stack with original". These are the same settings and process I did with LR2.
Edit in PS. Save newly created .psd.
Go back to LR3. PSD is missing, because it didn't get marked as a 4-star (or color, or whatever other attribute you've filtered by). You'll only see the pre-edited DNG, with the stacking icon in the corner telling you it is 1 of 2, but the second one is not shown.
Unfilter the selection so you an see all photos. There you will find the just-created PSD as part of the just-created stack, but without the attributes that were set on the original DNG.
So the result of this is when working with a found set, choosing to externally edit photos has them dissapear when the editing is complete. You have to constantly turn off selection filtering and go find the new file and tag it with the attributes that should have been carried over -- like LR 2 did - and then turn the filtering back on to narrow down to the set you want.
Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

you can autosave XMP data. But at a penalty: everything you do is saved again and again during your editing with a speed penalty as a result.
