  • Adobe Workspace Retiring?

I had a client get this email- is this going to effect Business Catalyst?
    Can someone please clarify?
We’re contacting you to let you know that Acrobat.com Workspaces will be retired on January 6, 2015. This includes all of the service’s online tools, including Buzzword, Presentations, and Tables.
Here are some important dates to keep in mind:
Spring 2014: Since your files will no longer be available on Workspaces after January 6, 2015, Adobe will provide a tool that allows you to download all of your files in one simple step. Of course, you can log in to your Workspaces account and download individual files at any time.
Fall 2014: Workspaces will become "read-only." That is, you will still be able to download files, but you will no longer be able to create, modify, delete, or upload any new Workspaces or documents.
January 6, 2015: You will no longer have access to Workspaces and related tools, including Buzzword, Presentations, and Tables. As of this date, all your files stored in Workspaces will be deleted and will no longer be accessible.
Soon, we will send instructions about how to download your files stored in Workspaces in one simple step. We recommend that you delete any unnecessary files you don't want included in the bulk download. We will post information — including FAQs and How To guides — on the Acrobat.com community forum.
    Thank you.

From what I am reading it isn't related, but I just wanted to solidify that answer for him and his peace of mind.
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
This has nothing to do with Business Catalyst.

  • Workspace retirement = significant service enhancement??

How is the retirement of a service at the same time a "significant service enhancement"?
This trick does not become clear in the announcement mail.
What added or modified service offering constitutes this "enhancement"?

    Hi there,
Thanks for posting; I'm sorry to hear you were confused by this morning's email regarding the end of running Acrobat Shared Reviews with Workspaces. (We also put up a new post on our blog for more information.) Let me try to clarify: The "service enhancement" referred to by the email is not, in fact, the retirement of Workspaces or Acrobat's use of Workspaces for Shared Reviews. Instead, the changes we announced this morning are a precursor to as-yet-unannounced changes to the Acrobat.com service offerings - and these changes will be the "service enhancements" promised in today's email message.
While we're very excited to make these changes, we're not ready to announce the details. I recommend subscribing to the Acrobat blog (or at least checking in intermittently) to be the first to know when we do announce what will be actual enhancements to the service.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or comments; we're here to help as much as we can during this transition!
    Best,
    Rebecca

  • When Workspace goes down 6 Jan 2015, what happens to Buzzword?

The Buzzword & Presentations Internet collaboration tools are very good.
When Workspaces shuts down in January 2015 will those tools surface as independent Adobe products, or will they be accessible through a different Adobe Internet portal?
Macromedia Contribute was a big problem-solver for me - especially when coordinating website creation within one template, but originating from different countries, and multiple designers.  In some respects Buzzword and Presentations share that interactive connectivity - with sharing and templates.
I hope Adobe has a positive answer for this one.

Unfortunately, Buzzword and Presentations will be permanently retired along with Workspaces.

  • How do I know whether my Movies are on the cloud?

When I move them out of the Media folder, they don't play.  I activated iCloud on iTunes and it synced my content to the cloud.  Was that music only?  Am I wrong to think movies will stream from the cloud (if not, what's the point of the cloud)?  If they don't stream from the cloud, how do I "push" them back onto my Mac?

    Hi qujackson,
You should be able to log on to your account at http://workspaces.acrobat.com and download all of your files. You'll find downloading information in this document: FAQ: Adobe Workspaces retired

  • What does it mean that our files must be downloaded by January 2015?  Will our files still be accessible after this date or will they be deleted?

    Hi Everyone!
I'm a bit new to the whole PDF thing and am thrilled to share that I finally figured out how to use this cool feature! Well sort of! I noticed that there is a large red button that says all files will be deleted on January 6th. What does that mean exactly?  Will any files that we have stored here simply vanish?  I have a PDF file that I published in my 'workspace' that's linked to my business website.  Will the link to my PDF file just disappear on January 6th?  Thanks for any insights that you can share!
    Blessings,
    Lori

Adobe Workspaces is being retired at the beginning of 2005. For more information, see FAQ: Adobe Workspaces retired.
Yes, links to any files your have stored on Workspaces will not work after January 6, 2015.

  • How can I retreive the buzzword documents that used to be on my account?

I haven't used Acrobat.com in a while (maybe 4 years) and I was wondering if my absence has caused my previous files that used to be on my account to be deleted or removed, or something. I'm not sure if the version of Acrobat.com that I used was overwritten or updated. I would really like to access these documents. Is there any way. I would appreciate a response. Thank you.

    Hi dib-dab,
Workspaces (the Acrobat.com that you're familiar with) is being retired early next year. But, you should still be able to retrieve your Buzzword files, and then store them on the new Acrobat.com. For more information, please see: FAQ: Adobe Workspaces retired
    I hope that helps.

  • Acrobat X, Reader, and shared review

My association would like to a volunteer committee of our members, approx. 10-12 people, be able to do a group review of a PDF. All members of the group must be able to see everyone else's comments and add their own.
I understand that Acrobat XI has a shared review capability via Adobe's cloud storage. Does Acrobat X have this same capability? Will our members be able to access a shared review PDF on the cloud by using Reader or must they use Acrobat? And is the use of cloud storage for shared review part of the price of the Acrobat software or is there an additional fee (how much?) for this service?

    Hi comm_ncra,
Just saw your tweet, and managed to track down your forum post. Acrobat X does have the same commenting capabilities as Acrobat XI, and folks will be able to comment on your PDF using either Acrobat or Reader.
You may have read about Workspaces on Acrobat.com, which can be used to collect comments for shared reviews. Workspaces will be retired very early next year, but you can still initiate a shared review and then use your own internal server to collect comments: See FAQ: Adobe Workspaces retired for more information about Workspaces end-of-life.
But, you can certainly share your PDF via Acrobat.com, and storage is free.
    I hope that helps.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Does the Retirement of WorkSpaces impact online services for converting pdf to word?

I occasionally use Adobe to convert PDF files to Word or Excel files.  I am wondering whether the recent widely distributed email on retirement of Workspaces is relevant to me. Is the retirement of workspaces relevant to me if I am using the Adobe online service to convert PDF to Word or Excel files?  I ask this question because I do not know whether Adobe may be using Workspaces in the background whenever I request a file conversion.

No, this retirement does not affect ExportPDF.

  • What happened to ADOBE workspaces files after being downloaded before retirement?

What happened to ADOBE workspaces files after being downloaded before retirement?

I had this problem as well! I was working on one of several projects I had, I'm pretty sure they were saved on the computer, my computer started to chug, I reset it, and they ALL disappeared! I can't find any of the files anywhere on the hard drive, but I also can't sign into the cloud to see if they somehow got moved. I reset again, and still nothing.
When I try to log into the cloud it tells me the sync failed. Since I only just signed up for the subscription I don't know if it's common for it to go down, or what.

  • How this retirement will affect Shared review users?

How this retirement will affect Shared review users?
For example, when Acrobat servers have problem and shared review users cannot download files from email invitation, Workspaces is where the users can log in and download the files.
If without Workspaces, is there another way for shared review users to download the files?

    Hi there,
Thanks for your question. Workspaces will no longer be available as a distribution option for PDF files in a Shared Review (although you can still initiate Shared Reviews using an internal server, such as a SharePoint workspace, a network folder, or a web server folder).
While Workspaces will no longer be available for posting those PDF files, Acrobat.com (http://files.acrobat.com) is an excellent alternative for uploading your files. You can make your uploaded files public, and share the file's unique URL with reviewers. For more information about uploading and sharing files with Acrobat.com, please see: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat-com/help/files.html
Please let us know if you need any clarification or further assistance.

  • Server can't create my workspace error when trying to distribute a form?

I am trying to distribute a form using Acrobat.com.  When I enter the email addresses, the program goes to work and then tells me that it can't create a workspace on the server.  Am I missing something in the process?
Thank you in advance for any help I can get.

Acrobat.com Workspaces has been retired. See: FAQ: Adobe Workspaces is being retired
For Acrobat X & 9 users, when you Select “Distribute” from the Forms tool pane in your Acrobat software, you will no longer see the option to distribute your form with Acrobat.com. You will still be able to distribute your form via email or your own internal server.

  • How to undeploy retired applications?

Hi there! I'm new to Weblogic Server and to this forum as well.
I am redeploying an application without any problem but before redeploying a new version I need to undeploy manually (through command line or webconsole) the old version of the app. My question is: how can the retired versions be deleted automatically when it is not active anymore? Do I need to create a script for that?
Secondly, I don't need to keep all deployed versions of the app. How can I avoid it? Is it because I use the -upload action in the command:
java -cp C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\weblogic.jar weblogic.Deployer -adminurl t3://192.168.100.221:7001 -user weblogic -password weblogic -redeploy -name App -source "C:\Users\516230\.jenkins\jobs\PGU PRODUCTIU\workspace\UniVic.ear" -targets AdminServer -upload
    Thanks!

Good Question and please refer the below links may narrow down the issue,
