Workspace Template

I have successfully created a workspace template with several sub folders. What I would like to do is create in the template, a landing page that refers to the subfolders in that template. So my problem is that I can create the landing page, but all the folders reference folders that have already been created. What I need is for them to reference the folders that will be created when a workspace is created from the template. Sorry if that is confusing.

I'm not sure there is a way to do this but we create a poor man's version by adding a search accessory to the workspace folder that does a recursive search of all entries and call it "Recent Activity".
Accomplishes similar to what you're trying to do possibly.

  • Workspace template selection

    Hi gents,
In my beekpr, within my enterprise i have a list of workspaces listed in the workspace templates. (basic team, Project, Beeki, community of practice etc.) When i create a workspace using outlook, i cannot select which type of workspace i want. The field is grayed out and the value is "team". Shouldn't i be able to select one of the above listed templates?
    thanks,

    Hi Ruben,
is this the way it is intended to be used? the selection of the workspace type is an administrator tool only? i though it was a user tool. Maybe i didnt understand properly.
anyhow, just a simple example that comes right to my mind, because i actually sent some of my management to view the BeeHive demo presentation on the site. In this demo http://www.oracle.com/pls/ebn/swf_viewer.load?p_shows_id=6951929&p_referred=undefined&p_width=800&p_height=600 , there is a nice web interface to view/modify/create your workspaces, i know, i know its coming in release 1.5, i beleive. Its not a big deal... but my bosses are expecting these types of tools now i have to explain to them that its not available yet.

  • Workspace templates

    Hi,
I'd like to create a workspace template, but the "Store in repository" button is greyed out. Where do I put the xml so that it is available as a template choice?
    Thanks

    Hello -
You need to be logged in as a user with Application Administrator privileges to Store Workspace templates. If you are not, you can copy the XML, email to a user with App Admin privileges, and the app admin can login to Workspaces, click on Administrator tab-->Templates -->Store Template (and paste the XML).
Se more information in the Application Developers Guide - http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B15595_01/workspaces.101/b16234/toc.htm

  • Migrating SP 2007 site which is using the template Project Workspace (Id 6215) to SP 2013

    Hi,
We have our SharePoint 2007 with project server installed on it. It is only one server having all of the components including SQL server and SP 2007. We are planning to migrate one of the site which is using the
Project Workspace Template(Id 6215)  to the SP 2013 environment using Database
    Attach Method.
    Questions:
    1) Is there any workaround available we can migrate the site to SP 2013 without
    installing project server?
    2) If there is no other workaround, we may need the justification or supports articles to share with our management.
Looking forward to hearing from you guys.
    Regards,
    Zulfiqar

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you tested the database.
I recommend to check if the site template exists in the folder located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\1033\XML.
If yes, then restart the SharePoint machine and run the PowerShell command Test-SPContentDatabase again.
If not, please re-install the template to see if the issue still occurs.
If the sites with issue are no longer needed, then you can delete the sites with issue. Or you can
rename the site template with a standard template id.

  • SharePoint 2007 Workspace...Archive Agendas

Greetings, thank you for looking at my post.  Situation is I have been given until the end of the week to archive an old meeting workspace (contains 2 years of meetings but has not been used for a year).  Archiving the document libraries is OK,
it is the agendas that I can't figure out a good way to archive.  What wouold be ideal is the ability to export the agendas to a different format such as excel or pdf.  What I am hoping to avoid is going through each indivicual agenda list and
    exporting...
Any suggestions that you have would be much appreciated.
    -John

    Hi h0mely,
perhaps you can try these steps for testing:
    1. Created a site with the ‘Basic Meeting workspace’ template
    2. Added 4 new Agenda items, two of which had the ‘Owner’ field set to ‘ariz’
    3. Created a custom View ‘View Standard’ & set a filter to Owner : ariz– only two items were displayed
    4. On the filtered items displayed clicked on Actions > ‘Export to Spreadsheet’
    5. Opening the IQY file in Excel 2007, we got the correct result – only 2 items were exported
there is a by design issue here, for example:
    1. In a Team site, clicked on the Calendar on the Quick Launch bar
    2. Created a New Item and created a new meeting workspace for it using the ‘Basic Meeting workspace’ template
    3. Added 4 new Agenda items, two of which had the ‘Owner’ field set to ‘ariz’
    4. Created a custom View ‘My View’ & set a filter to Owner : ariz – only two items were displayed
    5. Went back to the team site & created another calendar item
    6. Linked it to the meeting workspace created in step #2 above
    7. Added 4 new Agenda items, two of which had the ‘Owner’ field set to ‘ariz’
    8. Created a custom View ‘My Second View’ & set a filter to Owner : ariz – only two items were displayed
    9. On the filtered items displayed in the custom view, clicked on Actions > ‘Export to Spreadsheet’
    10. Opening the IQY file in Excel 2007, we got 4 records – all the agenda items whose owner was ‘ariz’ were exported
This shows that if we have multiple agenda items on a workspace then the filter set in the custom view is not fully respected; however if there is a common parameter like Owner: ‘ariz’ then all the items corresponding to that filter would be exported.
    because:
    - the items in the lists (agenda or objectives) are filtered depending on the InstanceID (set in a cookie) when displayed in the site
    - there is one hidden list called “Meeting Series” into object model, which will store all the meeting Instance ID, so we need to take each meeting Instance ID from hidden list
    - each occurrence has a instance ID; when exporting to spreadsheet it exports the whole list without any filtering
    - it is not possible to filter the data that is exported to the spreadsheet.
    - we cannot create a calculated column referencing the InstaceID as this data type is not permitted in a calculated column.

  • Publishing RoboHelp 9 files into SharePoint 2010

Does anyone know why I continually get an invalid SharePoint path when trying to publish from "Robo into SharePoint? Do I need to choose a particular workspace template when I am in SharePoint?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Don't copy the URL from the web window that you open to access the intended SharePoint directory - seeing as that has a bunch of view information in the URL:
For example - here's a URL NOT to use:
    http://foo.abc.com/teams/infrastructure/Doc%20Pipeline%20and%20Edit/Forms/AllItems.aspx?Ro otFolder=%2fteams%2finfrastructure%2fDoc%20Pipeline%20and%20Edit%2fRoboHelp%2fVPN&FolderCT ID=&View=%7bA1B4DCFF%2d9FC9%2d4565%2d8779%2dB0F10BAFFA30%7d
Instead, the URL should be as follows - except take out the "%20" for spaces - as well as the "http:" part
    http://foo.abc.com/teams/infrastructure/Doc%20Pipeline%20and%20Edit/RoboHelp/VPN/
    so - ultimately
    //foo.abc.com/teams/infrastructure/Doc Pipeline and Edit/RoboHelp/VPN/
If you're unsure exactly what the path should be, create the desired destination folder on your sharepoint site.
Copy one file into the desired destination folder.
Right click on the file and select "Properties"
Copy the Address (URL) that you see in the Properties window.
Use that as the URL in the RoboHelp output Properties > Publish field, and then remove the "http:", any "%20" space characters (easier just to leave spaces out of your sharepoint directory names), and the file name at the end of the path (so just the directory path remains, not the full directory path/filename).

  • Failed to instantiate "MWSdefault.master" from module "MWSMasterPage": Source path "global/MWSdefaul.master" not found.

    Hello,
When my users are trying to create a Meeting Workspace they always get the following message:
Failed to instantiate "MWSdefault.master" from module "MWSMasterPage": Source path "global/MWSdefaul.master" not found.
I have checked \...\12\TEMPLATE\GLOBAL\m@ster pages, and the master page is there. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue and how I can solve it?
I am working with SharePoint 2007 (MOSS). We haven't customized the Meeting Workspace Templates, so they should just work as standard SharePoint.

  • Process Workspace-11.1.1.6.0 template customization

On our project, we want to access BPM workflows using WebCenter Process Spaces, since we want to use the collaboration capabilities of WebCenter.
This is approximately (unfortunately, I cannot attach a screenshot to a thread) how a space created using the Process Workspace-11.1.1.6.0 template looks like right now in our environment:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/user.1111/e15175/bpmug_pp_cust_ws.htm#BACIGJEC
but we would like it to look like the Process Tracking tab in the BPM Workspace:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/user.1111/e15175/bpmug_ws_mng_proc_insts.htm#BEIFBJHC
that is, we want the user to be able to click on an instance and see the audit trail just below, without having to open another window.
Is it possible to take the Process Tracking tab from BPM Workspace and include it in the Process Workspace-11.1.1.6.0 template? What are the steps?

Better check all the documents in the link I posted above, but the most basic advice from the Doc 583878.1 is:
Increase timeout settings for web sessions on the HFM site
In normal scenarios, increasing the session timeout might result in performance issues; as more "dead" sessions are kept open much longer, more processing power is wasted on them. To have long session timeouts is also (generally) considered bad practice from a security point of view.
Note that these timeouts are only enforced on idle sessions, i.e. when the user will not "click anything" for that amount of time. For this reason, they rarely need to be set to anything higher than 120 minutes.
The following instructions change the idle timeout from default 20 minutes to 30 minutes in Microsoft Internet Information Services 6 (IIS):
1.Go to Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
2.Expand the server node <ServerName> (local computer).
3.Right click on the application pool node.
    4.Select Properties.
    5.Select the Performance tab.
6.Change the Idle timeout value from 20 to 30 minutes.
    7.Click Apply.
    8.Click OK.
    9.Expand the node Web Sites.
10.Right click on the 'HFM' web site.
11.Go to Properties > Home Directory tab > Configuration button > Options tab.
12.Change the Enable session state > Session timeout value from 20 to 30 minutes.
    13.Click OK.
    14.Click OK.
15.Test that the timeout is now the new value.

  • Calling a stored workspace procedure/function in page template

I have an unusual puzzle. I am trying to find a way to call a stored procedure or function in a page template; ie, through HTML/javascript.
I maintain a website with several dozen applications and I currently have the page templates in all of these applications subscribed to one master template, so that changes can be made in one place and implemented across all the applications. So far, the only content I can display on every page in every application through page template subscription is static content; dynamic content (ie content generated based on data in the database) is implemented page-by-page (or application-by-application).
I'm wondering if there is a way to call stored procedures/functions from the page template to create dynamic content (based on the :APP_USER identity, for example). htmldb_Get() doesn't seem to be helpful, because as far as I can tell it only calls on-demand application processes, not workspace procedures/functions.
Is there any way at all that a workspace procedure/function can be called directly from the page template (eg with a javascript function of some kind)? Again, I am trying to avoid having to use any application/page-level apex entities (items, processes, etc) so that I can just put the javascript or whatever in the page template and refresh all the applications in my workspace.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Suggested template workspace

I'm wondering if anyone can point me to a suggested template TestStand workspace. I'm starting a new task and want to have some type of organization.  Am I correct, first of all, that I would want to start out with a workspace, then add a project to it?  Would I ever have more than one project.  If not, why wouldn't I just have the project as the top level.  I'm starting my new task in TestStand 3.5
    In a related question ...
I inherited a TestStand 3.1 workspace file (.tsw) but I'm looking at it in TestStand 3.5.  It contains a config file (TS_Config) - in it are a number of .ini files, a .log file, and the file TS_Config.tpj
another .tpj file entitled TS_OI_FF_User.tpj - in it are three files (.exe, .ico, .uir)
Finally, another .tpj exists, that contains a num of .uir files, a .seq, a folder for CodeModules (containing a dll).
I have two questions about this...
    (1) What is a .tpj file?
    (2) When I right-click on the workspace, all I can insert is a project file (.tps), and from there I can only add folders or files.  Is the folder concept pointing to the actual folder on my c-drive or is this like the LabVIEW folder which is not pointing to the actual folder?

    In response to your questions:
    (1) What is a .tpj file?
A TPJ file is a TestStand Project File.  TestStand uses different hierarchical levels in order to organize files.  The highest level is the Workspace.  Workspaces contain Projects.  Project can contain files or folders.  These types of files help developers organize their files throughout development and later deploy their systems.
    (2) When I right-click on the workspace, all I can insert is a project file (.tps), and from there I can only add folders or files.  Is the folder concept pointing to the actual folder on my c-drive or is this like the LabVIEW folder which is not pointing to the actual folder?
The folder isn't an actually folder on your hard drive.  This folder only lives inside the Project file and can contain files located in many different folder.  Therefore, it is very similar to the LabVIEW Project folder.
Let me know if this answers your questions.
    Regards,
    Santiago D
