Workspace totally disappeared

Workspace and project totally disappeared with the exception of a tiny box with the red x and yellow minimize symbols (no green button). Tried to restore workspace and rebooted but no luck. Every project I try to open this is all I get. Thoughts?

Premiere remembers the last worksapce used. I made my the main Premiere Panel on the left monitor (the one with the main taskbar, so I couldn't control anything in Premiere) totally disappear the other day. Try adjusting your monitor resolutions from desktop... I went down to 900x600 resolution, then opened up premiere and moved other panels around to reveal the missing one. I dragged that back over to the left monitor and maximized it, then quit, and changed resolutions back to normal. Worked. I use a PC though, so not familiar with Mac.
You might also look up what keyboard shortcuts affect workspaces and panels...

My entire workspace has completely disappeared.
My Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 was on when I plugged it into an Epson projector into my Mac Laptop to play a slideshow through quicktime for some friends. It worked fine but afterwards I noticed it had done something funny to my Premiere. The entire Workspace had disappeared but the program is still on. The top of the screen with file, edit etc. are still there but it looks like the workspace moved over to the left as if there was a dual monitor or much bigger monitor, but I don't have one. I am not sure what is happening but now the windows asking me about my project settings are no longer in the middle of my screen, they are off to the left, half cut off at the edge of my monitor as well.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling premiere but nothing seems to work. I tried fiddling with the display in my system preferences but no luck either. Any help is very much appreciated. I am at a loss for words an need to finish up some projects. Help!

Hello John,holding down the shift/option/command buttons while starting premiere and it didn't do anything that I can see. Still same issue.

First, make sure you're logged into the iTunes Store using the account ID and password you set up, or used, when you redeemed your card/gift. If you are, try signing out of the account and back in.
If you're sure you are using the correct account and that you're signing in to the iTunes Store, and signing out and back in doesn't help, go to the Purchase History and review your purchases to make sure that you should indeed have a balance left. iTunes doesn't always refresh the balance it shows, so it's possible you spent the money and it just wasn't being reflected in the display. This display error can usually be corrected by logging out of the iTunes Store and then back in.
If you confirm that you should have balance left but the iTunes Store isn't showing it correctly, send a message to the iTunes Store customer service department through the contact form you'll find by selecting the most applicable section of their Support page (select the Contact Support link and follow the instructions) and explain the problem to them.

If you have itunes on pc or icloud than i think your contacts should be there.
Have you tried to sync to itunes (make sure to check Sync Contacts and all contact options on itunes info tab), activate the icloud account on your iphone's contact option and show all contacts on groups tab on iphone's contact app?

I'm not sure what you mean by "the import doesn't work." If you're trying to use File>Import, that's for importing content or FCP XML; it definitely will not work for something like a workspace XML.
If there's a way to import a workspace, like there is for export presets, I'm not aware of it. I can think of two options, however:
manually copy the workspace XMLs to the folder I cited above (or, if your Documents folder redirects elsewhere, then in the Layouts folder at that location)
in Workspace submenu under Window, make sure the option "Import Workspace from Projects" is enabled, and then load a project that uses a workspace that you want to share.

IMovie totally disappeared!

I don't know if it happened from the last OS update or before, but my iMovie program has totally disappeared. poof gone!!! This is a new (bought in February) Mac Book running the latest OS.
any way to get iMovie back??? my folders are still there in the Documents... it's just that ALL references to the program are gone. not a reference, plist, anything other than the one folder that i created. somehow this program got completely uninstalled.

the cd that you mac came with has the imovie installer on it so just insert the disk in to your mac and follow the on screen instructions

If you still have the 'pointers' to them in iTunes then I think that it assumes that you still have them on your computer so it won't re-download them or let you copy them from your iPod - try deleting the iTunes entry for one of them and then re-try re-downloading or, with your iPod connected, File > Transfer Purchases. If it works for that one then do the same for the others.

I have been struggling with iTunes ever since I signed up. I can't seem to find any way of direct contact so have come here.

The form at the bottom of the page will allow you to contact iTunes Store Customer Service.
Try this, click on Store inside iTunes then Check for Purchases. Are the downloads resuming?

IPhoto Library has totally disappeared!

I'm really hoping that someone can advise me. I switched from Windows to Mac two Christmases ago and until now would not have changed back. But now, my confidence is seriously damaged.
Here's the thing:-
The photo library on my wife's iMac has disappeared - totally.
There was no event or crash.
She simply opened iPhoto and it said "Do you want to create a library?"
I've searched with Google and done all the suggestions.
There is no iPhoto Library in 'Pictures'.
I've used iPhoto Library Manager - it will create a new library but finds no trace of the old one.
There is no 'Masters' nor "originals' folder.
Cmd-launch doesn't help.
Alt-Cmd-launch doesn't help.
There is no albumdata.xml file.
There is no library6.iphoto file.
The hard drive verified OK.
A lot of permission repaired but they usually do.
Still no sign of anything.
The Mac is a 21-inch iMac, bought Dec 2009; it's still running Snow Leopard and she has iPhoto09.
I've switched my 27-inch iMac (bought at the same time) to iPhoto11 and upgraded to Lion but my wife (like many) is seriously conservative and switching her from XP to Mac was quite enough for the time being!
I do have a backup of all but the recent photos but my confidence in Apple products is seriously damaged. I mean, I still have photos from Windows 98, 2000, and XP computers and I've never lost a single photo before (except by the usual mistakes). The notion that a Mac can simply lose every single photo without warning makes it 100% untrustworthy.
I don't use Time Machine, though I was about to start using it. But surely if I did rely on it, it would simple backup the absence of photos and they'd be lost in the backup too?
How can this have happened?
How can the photos be deleted from the hard drive without a lot of disc activity? (i.e. they must still be there?)
How can I get them back?
Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

Post Script: I have used Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery. It insisted that I make an image onto an external drive and from that it has found 35,000 images, most of them Apple and software icons. But there are also what may be all of the photographs. It's going to take forever to go through them all and of course I can't yet say if all sets of photos have been recovered.

I'd thought of user error, of course, but couldn't see how *everything* could have disappeared . . . . but I hadn't actually thought of accidentally moving the iPhoto Library itself to Trash. If that was done, would it have this effect - of deleting everything?
I can see how this might be the only conceivable answer but I simply don't believe it's what happened. You'd have to go into the Home folder, then pictures, and then delete the iPhoto library.
My wife definitely wouldn't have done this. I don't think she's ever used the Finder. But I occasionally use her computer so if it was done it was me wot done it! And I did recently copy some pictures across from my Mac to hers to put them on her iPad. I'm pretty sure I didn't use either iPhoto or the Finder on that occasion - but you never know.
In the absence of any other suggestions I may have to acknowledge that this may be what happened. In some ways it would be a relief. Total loss for no reason was very worrying.
Still not happy that I might have done it by accident though!

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

Calendar Recurring meeting Meeting workspace link disappears

I established a recurring meeting, and set the parameter to establish
a meeting workspace for each meeting. Prior to editing the meeting,
the meeting workspace link appears on the meeting properties page
(linked through the calendar.) Once I edit the meeting notes, the
link disappears, however if I go into "edit" it then reappears.
I also changed the date on one of the recurring meetings to be the correct date since the
user changed the date for that meeting. An interesting thing happened. On the calendar webpart
the link is shown below.

If I clicked into the calendar and highlighted the same meeting the link is this:
dispform.aspx?id=3.1.1
I cannot figure out why it is showing on one and not the other when the fields selected in
the view are the same. The 3.1.1 link show the meeting workspace link, the link with just the 3
does not. Is this a bug? Did I do something wrong?
Sharepoint is not integrated with Outlook.
I am using WSS 3 with SP2 on a Windows 2003 server.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have the same issue with similar symptoms, and wonder if there is any update. We are using SharePoint 2010. We have a meeting recurrence set up with a meeting workspace, and the calendar is sync'ed to SharePoint. One of the meeting dates changed, so I
used Outlook to update the meeting time:

> the "ID" number shows "ID=10" on the calendar web part, and "ID=10.1.8" on the actual calendar view (this is the same as the original post say "3" on one view and "3.1.1" on another view.

opens a page with all the meeting information, except the "Workspace" row is simply blank where the link should be.

So, this issue seems to be tied to the changing a meeting date after the recurrence and workspaces are both created. It may also be tied to permissions or browser version/settings. I agree with the "answer" in that accessing the information from
the calendar view seems to work OK for all users in all browsers. I wanted to post this to track that the issue is not happening for all users, which suggests that there are other factors involved. I looked at this using 5 different profiles, and found only
2 (one internal user and one external user) experiencing the problem. So, I question why this works OK for 60% of users, but not the other 40%. It makes me think that this could be fixed through a setting, either in the browser or the user profile. The "answer"
was also provided ~6 years ago, so I wondered if there was updated information at this time.

My (saved) book totally disappeared from the Book module in Lightroom

Dear +Adobe Photoshop Lightroom,
I have been working for the past 100 hours or so on a 200+ page book in the book module in LR4.
Went to work on a second book that I had just begun to organize and came back to a full filmstrip (including the usage numbers showing me that all of the images had been used including a tiny 2 for a cover image) and the 4 blank pages we all see upon starting a project.
My entire book was gone. Poof!
I'm surprised you didn't hear my scream all the way in San Jose.
This couldn't be...I had officially saved the book several weeks ago when I first began it and had been working on it steadily ever since.
(For the record, I am working on a Mac OS X v10.7.5 and updated LR to v4.2.)
I can't begin to tell you the sick feeling over losing this amount of work.
I went to your LR forums to see if this was unique to me (Did I inadvertently hit a button I shouldn't have?)
I have always felt very confidant in LR's "saving" and "backup" abilities. Now I am devastated and have lost total confidence.
Do I try again in LR or move to another program?

When I opened my most recent backup of LR, all the text was missing and many of the images were in color (this is a book of monochrome imagery)

No text and many images were reset to original RAW files as if no post-processing had been done.

The thing that is genuinely unsettling is Adobe's lack of response to the issues expressed in the forums.
Surely the book making ability is an important one to your audiences?

I am trying to stay reasonable. But again, I am very concerned over the lack of responsiveness on Adobe's part. Perhaps that will help get this problem addressed. Or more importantly, help a few other creative folks avoid how absolutely devastated I feel right now.

Workspace has disappeared

I have been using Premiere Elements 9 for a few years withour an issue on Vista. I upgraded to a new computer with Windows 7 and contiued producing videos and Youtube clips. On Monday I tried to use the DVD share for the first time on this computer. Before sharing I decided to download the extra content for the menus. After downloading the program crashed and I eventually uninstalled and reinstalled the program. It worked the first time and then the workspace wouldn't open. I get the menu bar at the top but nothing else. Trying to reset the Workspace causes it to crash. Now every time I want to use it I have to reinstall the program.

Sounds like your computer could use a tune-up.
When did you last run Disk Cleanup and the Disk Defragmenter? (Even brand new computers are riddled with fragmented files.)
Go to Windows Update and click on Restore Hidden Updates. Ensure that Windows Update is set to download Microsoft Updates as well as Windows Updates and then make sure you have all of the updates -- even the non-critical ones.
And of course manually go to the nVidia or ATI web sites and download the latest drivers for your graphics card! This step alone fixes a surprising number of these types of issues!
(Also, don't forget to get the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements.)

When minimizing the Firefox window, it totally disappears and can't be maximized again.

After a unknown crash of Firefox, I restarted Firefox.
The button appeared in the tasbar, but the window was never to be found.
Clicking the button didn't help.
I used the windows taskmanager to maximize the window, which worked OK, but.........
When clicking the "size down" button (top right middle button), the window again disappeared and could not be resurrected again in a normal way.
So at the moment I am stuck with a maximaized window, and I can't resize and move it anymore....
Sincerly hope you have a solution....

* Use Restore or Maximize in the right-click context menu of the Taskbar icon to set focus to the Firefox application if you do not see the Firefox window.
* Open the system menu of that Firefox window via Alt+Space and see if you can move and resize that window (use the keyboard cursor keys).
If that works then first close all other open Firefox windows and then close Firefox via "File > Exit/Quit" to save that setting.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Have you created a new account or updated your existing account ? All content that you download from the store is tied to the account that downloaded it, so if you have created a new account then all of your existing downloads will remain tied to your old account.
If you've updated your existing account then try tapping on the id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and log out of it and then log back in with the updated id so as to 'refresh' the account on it.
