Workspace v1.8 - File Share shows actual time instead of expiration date

Hi,
our customer still uses Workspace Files Version 1.8 an in the main everything works fine. There is just one problem:
When he creates a share for a file (not a folder) the expiration date for it should be shown - but in fact the actual time (when the share is created) is shown.
Anyone seen this before? Is there a patch or any other possibility to resolve this?

I was having this exact same problem, then it just stopped. I am using the nouveau driver and I have a tnt2 card.
IIRC, I was having an unrelated problem with xorg or udev or something was having problems detecting my monitor, it claimed I had two monitors connected, I wrote an xorg.conf file and that fixed the problem. IDK if its is related or not because I don't recall exactly when things started working when I would switch ttys.
Try using the nouveau driver and see if it does the same thing, it has a kernel module so it might make difference,

Sorry, my handful of mp3's had the file name as the id3 tag name.
So, I am seeing the same thing as you.
Oddly, a while back I was trying to help someone out in Mountain Lion that wanted to see the id3 tags in the Finder.
It's all a bit silly. They should have added columns instead or changing it to tag song name.
They are transitioning to having everything reflect the content and not the file system, so this may not be reversible.

Does PSE13 download photos in the order they are taken on that date and show actual time when hovering over the photo as it did in PSE6?

In my work, I need to be able to look at photos I took throughout the day at various locations and group them by the time I was there on that date to distinguish the different properties I am taking photos of. In my previous version of PSE6, when the day's pictures were downloaded, they were downloaded to the computer in the order I took them, and if you hovered over the picture it would show the time the photo was taken. I just need a program that will organize in that fashion. I do not need a lot of editing options, more the organizational options.

If you are happy with PSE 6, why not continue to use it?
PSE 13 can display the images in date/time order like PSE 6 does. The time doesn't appear when you hover over a thumbnail but can be displayed below the thumbnail. The best thing is for you to download the trial version (select version 13 from the following link) and try it for 30 days to see if you like it.

If you use the trial, to see the date and time under each thumbnail you need to go to the View menu in the organizer and ensure that Details is checked.

ICal Invites show Standard Time instead of Daylight Time

When sending event invites from iCal 4 with Exchange 2007 the event is created correctly but the email message is off by an hour and says Eastern Standard Time instead of Eastern Daylight Time.

I have the same problem.
I just imported my Palm Date Book calendar into iCal. The appointments in October show the correct time. Those in November are off by one hour. Here in Toronto, we go off Daylight time at the end of October.
My question is, if I correct the appointments now, is iCal going to "correct" them again when the time change actually happens?
I see there are lots of unanswered questions on Time Zone problems with iCal. Seems to be an issue with deep roots in the program.

I am looking for a timer that shows elapsed time since a particular date and time. Showing days, hours, minutes etc.

I would like to download an application for my desktop and maybe even my iphone that will tell me how many days, hours, minutes, etc have elapsed since a particular date.
For example, my brother just had a baby and I want to put that date and time into the app and then determine how long it has been since that date and time.
Hopefully this makes sense, because I have not been able to locate anything.

Nokia 301 - SMS time shows receipt time instead of...

Hi, I have just replaced an old trusty Nokia 100 with a 301. Unlike my old phone, if I receive a new SMS on the 301, it shows the time the message was received by the phone, not the time it was sent. So if I turn off my phone at night, and then back on in the morning, the messages received during the night all show the time the phone was turned on and messages were received. I therefore have no idea what order the SMS's we sent in, and do not know if I need to respond. Is it possible to set up the phone to show the time a received SMS was sent, not just the time it was received ?

Hello again, and thank you for the replies. My phone software details are V 02.51 07-06-13 RM-840, which I believe is the latest version. It is clearly a fault with the software. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini phone for work and this had same problem - it shows the time received, not the time sent. However, a third-party application is available to correct this problem. It seems ironic that the more advanced mobile phones become, the less the manufacturers concentrate on the core functions for having a mobile phone. I think that my only hope is that Nokia release an update to allow the sent date and time to be shown (having researched this, it seems that this information is sent with all text messages), or that some kind person make an app available. Looking at the message boards, other Nokia phones have similar problems, and it would make sense if Nokia would listen to their customers and resolve this issue, otherwise those persons affected will not buy Nokia phones again.

Folders showing life time instead of last modified

Hello,
The business have a requirement to see various folders with their life time (valid to) date instead of last modified date. This is to help them delete the old document. Is there a way of doing this with least amount of coding, can the iview property be changed or is there an standard iview where properties can be changed to show life time etc. Does anyone know if these iviews are expored with their source code so that the source code can be modified? We are using EP5. Your help will be much appreciated.

Show actual time/date in finder

If i create a file today at 13:45, it will be shown in finder as created "today".
How can i get finder to show it at what time today it was created?

Open View Options (command J, or "Show View Options" from the View menu) & deselect "Use Relative Dates" for the window.
(You may need to increase the width of the date column to see the full date & time.)

Shared folders (Windows file shares) show access denied and do not prompt for credentials

Scenario:
Like other admins, I log on and work as a 'standard user' (usera) with no admin rights anywhere in the domain, to perform admin tasks I have another account (userb) which I authenticate with as and when required. userb has been allocated/delegated permissions
as required.
Problem:
When trying to connect to shared folders on servers (2008 R2) using a UNC patch via Windows Explorer (Win 7 Ent.), I see an access denied error and do not get an option to supply alternative credentials.
If I try to connect to the admin shares on the same server (\\server\C$ or \\server\e$) I get an access denied message AND get prompted for credentials. I supply my admin account and gain access as expected.
If I check share and storage management when attempting to connect, I see that Windows is trying to connect me to each share as usera (which has no access). I understand why I get access denied at this point, but not why it can't just prompt me to supply an
account that does have access. When trying the admin shares I also see the usera account, but I get a prompt to supply a user who does have access.
Share permissions on the folders are for example 'Everyone' Full Control. NTFS permissions are 'userb' has modify (read, execute, list, traverse etc) via a 'Server Admins' AD Universal security group.
Note: If I do a NET USE from CMD and use the /USER switch, I can access the shares fine. But this is not great for accessing shared folders on the fly from various computers.
How can I get the other shares on the server to prompt me, rather than just say access denied?

Is it possible to show actual time in Keynote?

Within a table cell I can use the formula NOW() (NU in Swedish) and get the time. But it's not updating.
The clock, visible for the presenter, would be nice to put into the presentation,
or the type of timer widget there is in iWeb.

Go to my public folder and download clock_from_system_time.qtz.zip. Double click to unzip, drag on to your Keynote slide, go to Inpector>Quicktime tab and set to loop. If you have Quartz Composer added to your computer, you can open it in there and change color and font. If you don't QC, let me know font, size and color and I can adjust it for you.

Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7. User share shows My Documents instead of use name.

This didn't startseeing this issue until we started using Windows 7 in our environment. There is a share with all the users folders in them. Because Windows 7 writes a desktop.ini file in each folder, the folders appear to be My Documents to the technicians.
I have been blocking the file with file screening but I feel there has to be a better method.
I don't like having to restrict file creation for these folders. Is there a way to prevent windows from reading in the folder until the folder has been opened? Or is file screening the best method to use. I feel like file screening may be slowing down logins.
The only other method I have found is to create a docs folder inside of the users folder and map to that docs folder. But that would mean moving around 10,000 - 30,000 user folders.
Any advice would be great.

There's nothing to stop the admins typing the route manually though as even though it displays my documents, the folder still has the name of the user.

OneKey Optimizer: Showing battery time instead of battery percentage

So I just downloaded OneKey Optimizer for my Lenovo Z50-70 and there's a green battery icon on the lower right corner of my desktop. Sometimes it'll display the battery percentage, but most of the time it'll display the predicted amount of time the battery has left to sustain my laptop. How can I change the program so that it only displays percentage?

I'm having the same problem too. My mom has a Yoga 2 13 and for some reason it did not come with OneKey Optimizer already on it. I downloaded it today from Lenovo's website and though some of the options on that app are on my computer but not on her app on hers, it works just fine. However, I can't seem to figure out how to change her battery icon from telling her the approximate time until the battery dies to showing the battery percentage, like it does on mine.
Every time she plugs in the charger, though, the battery percentage displays itself on her battery icon, no doubt because it can't exactly tell how long it will take the battery to run out when it is plugged in, but when she unplugs the charger cord, it reverts back to showing how many hours and minutes it will last. This is very frustrating to her. I haven't been able to find answers to this question anywhere on the internet, so I hope someone will promptly repost a solution to this problem.

SMB File Share Storage Failover Cluster "path is not valid folder path"

I am having an issue that I am scratching my head over. So I have setup a 3 node Hyper-V host cluster that I am attempting to use SMB File Share storage for the shared storage medium. I have been trying to migrate a virtual machine from one of the nodes
local storage into the file share using System Center VMM 2012 R2 with UR5 however I keep getting the message "The specified path is not a valid folder path on node2.domain.com" for the storage that VMM automatically selects for placement of files
from the migration. However what is odd is to the same file share for storage I can do a new deployment of a virtual machine to the same cluster with the same shares; I can also delete a virtual machine from the share fine; the file share for the virtual machine
I library I am deploying machines from is the same server as the file shares for the cluster that I am deploying to so maybe that is why that succeeds; if I try to move the recently deployed VM from one file share to another for storage same error comes up.
The three nodes all reference the same file server, which is just one file server for the storage, and the shares were created in VMM and as such the file share permissions were setup by VMM so they should be sufficient. I have also attempted this with both
delegation of CIFS and without through AD (trust to specified computers with CIFS, Hyper-V Replica and Microsoft Virtual Console Service via Kerberos only).
I am stumped as to what to check next or how to get this working and would appreciate any guidance anyone can give towards a resolution for this problem.

There's an known issue with UR5 that VMM gives wrong error when deploying a HAVM onto a SMB share. In that situation, VMM complains "Invalid folder path".
To confirm you are hitting the same issue, would you kindly let me know:
1. Are you trying to migrate a HighlyAvailable VM onto the SMB share?
2. On UI of "Migrate Storage Wizard", if you click "Browse", do you see the target file share showing up in "Select Destination Folder" dialog?
3. By "the three nodes all reference the same file server", I assume you added the target file share onto the list of File Share Storage thru the cluster's properties UI. If so, please go to the UI and check whether the access status shows
green there.
4. By "local storage", do you mean "local disk"? Or a shared LUN from any array? I assume it's not "available storage" or "CSV" of the cluster. Please double confirm.
Note: If we are sure hitting the known issue, I will later re-direct you to a hotfix. But let's make sure it is the issue first.

Error file share not managed but fabric- provider/fileserver and hyper-v host show managed/responding

Hi,
I am really puzzled by the following situation. I have a SCVMM 2012 R2 cluster that manages a Hyper-V host cluster on windows 2012 r2 and storage attached by SOFS Cluster on windows 2012 r2. There is 1 share - CSV1 for all VMs.
Under Fabric -> Providers/Arrays/FileServer everything is green and has status of responding and CSV1 is shown as managed.
Under Fabric -> Hosts -> Cluster properties -> Fileshare storage the CSV1 is visible and status responding, just as on the hyper-v hosts.
The error I have is that around 50% of those VM have "unsupported VM configuration" and under properties I get the error that the file share that the VHDX is running on is not managed. --> This is wrong because the share IS managed by VMM. As
I said I only have 1 (!) CSV for ALL of my VMs. If the share isn't managed by VMM then none of the VM could show a valid status. But this is what I see.
A refresh on the virtual machine gives me an error of ID12700 "VMM cannot complete the host operations... unkown error (0x8005)." On the Hyper-V Host itself for the time frame that I performed the refresh of the VM there are no corresponding errors.
The only thing I found is that all VMs with unsupported configuration have wrong properties entry in SCVMM. In SCVMM
the VM properties -> Advanced -> Availablity is set to "normal". On all VMs that work just fine the Availability is "High". I went to the Failovercluster Manager on the Hyper-V host. All VMs are visible under "Roles" and
therefor are HA VMs. So for some reason SCVMM has a wrong information on their HA status. I am not sure if this is the reason why
some are showing the error and some not but it is the only difference I found.
Does someone have an idea what could cause this behavior?

Yes all of those VMs were created before VMM exists. A Cluster refresh and hyper-v host refresh runs through without errors or information. So that is OK.
Migration is not possible because of the error. LiveMigration is not available from the GUI. Haven't checked powershell yet but will do so today.
I have been able to limit the errors to a smaller number of VMs (well if you could say that). I removed and re-added the hyper-v cluster. After that about 1/3 of all VMs still show the error and all of them are on the same Hyper-V server. Not sure if this
is relevant or just by "accident". I checked this hyper-v host but in regards to storage, network, hyper-v configuration I do not see any difference to the other two cluster nodes either on hyper-v nor on SCVMM.
