Workspace XML erased

Hi folks,
A computer glitch erased the XML file for my CS6 Coder Plus workspace.  Does anybody have one I could copy?
On Windows:
[User]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS6/en_US/Configuration/Workspace/Coder Plus.xml
Muchas gracias!
Nancy O.

There should be a copy in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\configuration\workspace.
Just in case you can't get it from there, I've copied mine to https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17016854/Coder%20Plus.xml.

  • After Effects warning: 'Workspace.xml' Rename Error

    I've already done a full uninstall and re-install. I am unable to open after effects, and this is the error I keep getting: After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/Home/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/10.0/Workspaces.9932.1407353177382401.xml' to 'Workspaces.xml'.
    After clicking twice, I'm given this error message:
    After Effects can’t continue: unexpected failure during application startup
    And then After Effects shuts down. Any thoughts?

    Thanks. Oddly enough, this is what did it.
    That's because it was a permissions issue as Todd said. Something wasn't set right, but when AE has to recreate it, the permissions are set correctly. Screwy permissions happen all the time with Mac OSX upgrades.

  • Configuration/workspace/*.xml file information

    Hi all,  I am new to DWcs4 and woke up to this message when I tried to start DWcs4 this morning.
    The following panel layout is missing or could not be read:
    c:\documents and settings/owner.lee\application data\adobe\dreamweaver cs4\en_us\configuration\workspace\mine.xml
    I also saw this on another attempt.
    XML parsing fatal error: Invalid document structure, line: 1, file C:\Documents and Settings\Owner.Lee\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_us\Configuration\Workspace\mine.xml
    I ended up reinstalling which was no big deal because I have just started using DW.  Right after I started my uninstall I found some excellent adivce in this group about removing (renaming might also work I think) the installation directory and restarting DW as it would recreate these files automagically.
    What I am wondering is if it would not be a bad idea to backup from this configuration file down in case I see this message again and don't feel up to reinstalling, when I have much more custom stuff setup.  I found that other people were getting the same or a very similiar message but the file named was "Designer.xml"  I did not initially see in my workspace directory until a while after I started working with DW.  I assume it was because I saved the "Designer" workspace setup during the session.  I do backup my entire pc every night, as long as I remember to plug in my external drive, but I am just wondering if it would be a good idea to back up this directory in a straight unencrypted format for quick restores.  Or maybe I am overreacting?
    Thanks very much,

    That verifies that *you* have two way communication.
    ColdFusion, even running on localhost, does not run as *you*,
    unless you
    have told it to. By default it runs as 'localSystem' on
    Windows, on
    Unix it will run under the user defined at install time.
    It is quite possible for there to be cooperate domain
    policies that
    allow you to access the internet, but not a generic
    'localSystem' user.
    One way to test this would be to configure the ColdFusion
    service|daemon
    to run under your user name and password. Not an ideal, long
    term
    solution, but a good test.
    This makes a lot of assumptions about your details. This is a
    problem
    with your system and your network connections. Those are the
    people you
    are going to need to be working with to find out why this is
    not working.

  • Details about repository.xml and workspace.xml

    HI All,
    In our Cq5.5 location under /repository location their is a folder as Tarjournal which contains 201 GB of .tar file.(This file is creating when PM TAr optimizer script is running)
    My question is when i navigated to /repository/workspaces//  i can able to see 107 GB of .tar files in that location.
    Can you please explain whether we can delete the old tar files in this location and how these files are creating. Or same PM TAr optimizer creating same files in these location as backup?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Gokul,
    I am not sure if yours is cluster envirnoment. In any case Do not delete tar files. Refer below post for cleaning tarJournal.

  • Can not create workspace.xml OSX

    Hello I just installed after effects CS5 trial on my Mac. Although it will unfortunatly not load. The installation process was fine, and I used adobe cleaner to remove my old CS4 after effects so there would be no issues.
    When I go to open it I am gretted with an error message saying it can not rewtie/rename or create the file Workspaces.xml

    What Mylenium suggested should work. But, if it doesn't you can also safely delete the entire preferences folder (Preferences/AdobeAfter Effects/10.0). When you restart After Effects, it will rebuild the preferences files to their default state.

  • Dreamweaver CS5 XML Parsing Error

    Hi All,
    I keep having to delete my workspace XML file to get Dreamweaver to start up, getting a little tedious now as it keeps happening. Anyone know of a permanent fix? or at least heard of this problem happening reguarly?
    Thanks,
    Trevor

    Hello Trevor,
    Kindly try with deleting the entire Configuration folder. The Configuration folder will be re-created when you run Dreamweaver after deletion.
    If the problem still persists, you can report the same to Adobe Dreamweaver team at the following URL by providing information like, is there a Crash report generated or any specific steps/actions resulting in the coruption of the workspace XML.

  • Bug report about Erase Application from disk

    Hi,
    Steps to reproduce this problem :
    - only jdev11tp2 opened in Windows
    - create a new Application Workspace
    - from the 'Application Menu' icon, choose 'Erase Application from disk'
    ==> the Application directory is remove from IDE but not erased from disk.
    If you attempt to delete the workspace directory from windows, you get an error message (as if there are opened files) : "Cannot delete applicationXXX : access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use"
    ==> You must leave Jdev for deleting the workspace directory thanks to windows.
    Other problem :
    if the workspace is created via a checkout (for a given revision) from a subversion's repository, if you try to erase this workspace with 'Erase Application from disk', you can't (like above) but moreover even if you leave Jdev !
    ==> you must close the windows session
    Regards,
    Christophe,

    Hi,
    don't know for the second issue, but the first is well known and a bug is filed already. I would assume that the outcome of this bug resolution also resolves your second issue
    thanks for reporting

    Our workspace settings disappeared last week on several of our workstatations (Mac) - is there a way to save them locally?
    Thanks,

    I'm not sure what you mean by "the import doesn't work." If you're trying to use File>Import, that's for importing content or FCP XML; it definitely will not work for something like a workspace XML.
    If there's a way to import a workspace, like there is for export presets, I'm not aware of it. I can think of two options, however:
    manually copy the workspace XMLs to the folder I cited above (or, if your Documents folder redirects elsewhere, then in the Layouts folder at that location)
    in Workspace submenu under Window, make sure the option "Import Workspace from Projects" is enabled, and then load a project that uses a workspace that you want to share.

  • Read xml file from jsp/servlet

    Hi all,
    I am a new comer to jsp and really appreciate if someone can help me on this:
    I will like to use a xml file to control access to my web app instead of using a database. Let say user.xml that will contains user name and password. Questions:
    1. where should I put this file? Under WEB-INF?
    2. In my jsp or servlet, how do i read the xml file, i mean how to i refer to the file (depend on question 1 as where the file should be placed)?
    Thank you very much.
    Sim

    Hi jlsim,
    you can place the xml file where you want, but remember that placing it under /WEB-INF is the most security way.
    I had a similar problem and I placed the xml file under /WEB-INF directory.
    To refer to it I did something like this:
    String realPath=getServletContext().getRealPath("WEB-INF/xml/workspaces.xml");//obtain the real path
    File f=new File(realPath);//obtain an instance of your file usable
    //to create an InputStream

  • Warning message when starting trial of After Effects: "Could not rename the file...in workspaces.

    I am trying to download the trial version of After Effects, and it goes through the whole download process fine. But as soon as I try to launch the application, I receive the message "After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/Rebekah/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/11.0/Workspaces.35974.1407352380644801.xml' to 'workspaces.xml'.
    What is causing this and what should I do? I've already tried uninstalling the trial and reinstalling it.
    Thanks!

    Having a similar problem as I try to use After Effects CC for the first time. "After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/timmyd/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/12.1/Workspaces.583.1407351854988961.xml' to 'Workspaces.xml'.
    When I navigate to the 12.1 folder, I see ModifiedWorkspaces and OriginalUserWorkspaces folders but no "/Workspaces.583.1407351854988961.xml".
    Then I attempted to open a project in AE CS6 (haven't use AE at all in months), I get a simliar message as the project is loading.  "After Effect error: Can't overwrite file"/Users/timmyd/Library/Preferences/Adobe After Effects 11.0-x63 Prefs". ( 3 :: 3 )
    When I click okay the project closes.

  • Changing Workspace context URL

    I am on Oracle BPM 10g3 Standalone.
    I am wondering if there is a way to change the default workspace URL from http://server:8686/workspace to http//:server:8686/NewWorkspace.
    thanks

    For Standalone server, here is what needs to be done:
    In TOMCAT_HOME/conf/Catalina/localhost,
    1. rename the workspace.xml to newWorkspace.xml
    2. edit newWorkspace.xml and change the path in the Context to "/newWorkspace"
    old workspace.xml
    <Context path="/workspace" docBase="../../webapps/workspace" debug="0" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">
    </Context>
    new newWorkspace.xml
    <Context path="/newWorkspace" docBase="../../webapps/workspace" debug="0" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">
    </Context>
    Now the URL http://server:port/newWorkspace will take you to the Workspace

  • Mac OS 10.7 (Lion) won't start After Effects CS5.5 because it's a powerpc app!?

    I've had CS 5.5 Master Collection installed on my Mac since it came out. All the CS 5/5.5 apps I've used up to now have worked fine, in 64-bit mode (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, InDesign). Now I need to use After Effects, but I can't get it to start.
    First it said it couldn't rename a Workspaces.xml file in the preferences directory in my home folder. In fact, there was no such file there at all. Nothing to rename. So, I uninstalled After Effects using its uninstaller; then reinstalled it from the install DVDs.
    Now, it fails on startup saying the After Effects CS5.5 application cannot be run because PowerPC apps are no longer supported. True: OS X no longer runs apps that require Rosetta. CS 5.5 is does not require Rosetta; it's compatible with Lion. The OS 10.7 Known Issues KB article says nothing about After Effects: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/905/cpsid_90508.html?promoid=JBQYY
    So...what's going on? I need this thing working for a project with a deadline! I don't get it. Anybody seen this before? (I didn't find anything in the discussions about it, nor Google...)

    Interesting article, but I knew I was leaving PowerPC apps behind when I moved to OS 10.7, and Adobe claims that After Effects CS 5.5 is fully compatible with Lion. But you must be right about prefs; there's gotta be something causing the Mac OS to think this version of CS is ancient...
    Since my initial message, I've tried and failed to find any details about how to select the right prefs to delete. I also ran Disk Utility to repair permissions on my system drive. That got rid of the PowerPC error:) Now on startup AE says mediacore fails to initialize. I can choose to quit or continue on that error, but continuing just results in another error that says dynamiclinkmanager unexpectedly quit, and then AE locks up and I have to force quit it. Not much progress!
    No other answers on this so far... Before I uninstall the entire Creative Suite and then delete all Adobe system and hidden files everywhere, any more suggestions? Or a list of the right prefs I should trash?

    Hi Simon,
    Thanks for posting!
    Firstly, I suggest you could try how to connect to local MySQL database from Azure. Similar issue
    https://getsatisfaction.com/cleardb/topics/windows_azure_websites_connetion_to_mysql_database for your reference.
    Secondly, What's your local machine? Is  it a server or just a PC? If it is a PC for you dev, I guess it could not be accessed from internet. You need use the server and open the 3306 port.
    >> “tried to link the resource but the option to link an existing mysql database is greyed out.”
    Base on my experience, when we create website on azure portal, azure will create a free database which is 20 M. If you want to use MySQL on azure, you may need use Clear DB. It is used to connect to a MySQL database that created in Azure (http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/store-php-create-mysql-database/)

  • Performance crippled with audit_trail=db in 12.1.0.2 CDB/PDB

    Performance tanked as soon as I set audit_trail=db, and all I see in EM Express is buffer busy waits.  Tracked it to object sys.aud$ with 100% of buffer busy waits.  I have been using Oracle auditing for years and never see this type of impact.  Anyone else see this?
    Oracle 12.1.0.2 on 64-bit Oracle Linux 6.5 with kernel 3.8.13-44.el6uek.x86_64.
    Created container database using DBCA with one pluggable database.
    Ran benchmarks to baseline performance.  Very good.
    set audit_trail=db, bounced the database, logged into the PDB and enabled audit on select, insert, update, delete on all my application tables.
    Transactions per minute dropped 95% and write I/O throughput dropped 75%.
    I collected AWR reports with and without audit_trail set.  These are shown below.
    Each benchmark is 5 minutes with 2 minute ramp-up time, and 40 users no key/think time.
    BEFORE SETTING AUDIT_TRAIL (IT IS UNSET).  Buffer Busy Waits is only 1.2 seconds total.

    Hi,
    Happened to me that parameter values of a workspace were defaulting to the values in <configdir>/defaults.xml instead of the ones in the <workspace>,xml.
    When you setup a database (e.g..java -jar ords.war setup --database mydb), you will have mydb.xml, mydb_al.xml and mydb_rt.xml under the <configdir>/ords created for APEX_PUBLIC_USER, APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER, respectively. When a config entry is not present in mydb_al.xml or mydb_rt.xml,  one would expect that it would be read from mydb.xml. However, that is not what happens. It reads from defaults.xml under the configdir.
    That is the case for db connection parameters as well.
    So, inspect all three xmls and make sure entries with
    key="db.hostname"
    key="db.password"
    key="db.port"
    key="db.servicename"
    exist in all three xmls.
    P.S. That should be the case for other parameters as well, but haven't verified.
    Ege

  • After Effects CC crashes on startup. 12.2

    Everytime I open up After Effects CC it repeatedly crashes and I have uninstalled and installed this program twice already. I repeatedly get this error message...
    After Effects warning: Could not rename the file '/Users/Haydo/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/12.2/Workspaces.1733.1407352684838561.xml' to 'Workspaces.xml'
    after this it says it cannot open the program due to an unknown error. How can I resolve this?

    See the last entry on this page for more detail about Rick's answer:
