Workstation specs -- Any problems with this system quote?
Here are the specs I have been quoted. I'm not terribly knowledgeable about hardware, does anyone see any problems with this system? I have recently started shooting and editing weddings, engagements and corporate videos. I think it may be bit more than I need, but I would much prefer that to less than I need. Any input from the more tech savvy users would be much appreciated.

I would have selected the Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD over the Intel 520, and Areca's ARC-1882i over the Intel SAS controller you list, but those are preferences not essential changes.

I'm having difficulty syncing my iCal between my home computer and iPhone. New entries from my home are not syncing with the phone and vice-versa. I didn't have any problems with this before until the latest phone update. Any suggestions?
It could be that the existing wire in your appartment is not clean enough to provision DSL only. When combined with the phone possibly it has a higher line voltage and worked before. Now that the line is to be provisioned without phone service it may be giving them trouble that did not show before they came out and ran the new line test. So a new jack dedecated for your DSL line may require a new wire be run to your appartment. Also the account for internet only used to require direct billing to a credit card or something else. This was a number of years ago. Most accounts are linked to a phone number, and without a voice number it adds to the confusion.
If you are getting the voice and everything turned on as before, then I am at a loss for words. -
Any problem with replacing system true type fonts with postscript?
I want to replace the Times true type (d.font) font in the systems fonts folder with a Times Postscript font. Will this cause any problems? Are there any system true type fonts that can't be replaced with postscript fonts?
You should not deal with fonts inside /System/Library/Fonts/. Your system may not be able to boot!

I currently have an iPhone 4s with an otterbox cover which provides excellent protection for my iPhone. I am an electrician and the environment my phone can be exposed to at times can be hostile at times. Do you know of and Otterbox which would accommodate your product purchased by me with Package ID 6629239. I still have product in box and am curious as to what type of protection I can receive for my phone. Any suggestions. Have you teamed up with otttebox to make a cover which would be compatible to the current cover being sold by them?

Take a look at Mophie devices as well, they provide some nice battery cases for iPhones (and other devices) and have a line that provides similar protection to Ottterboxes. -
Video gamers-Before I update to 10.5.5, any problem with this version
Hi, I would like to know BEFORE I attempt to update to lep 10.5.5 are the graphics card issues resolved. I am running 10.5.2, This is seems to be the only update enabling 256 color that works with graphic intense video applications or games. According to the details of this update (10.5.5) it does say it "includes graphic enhancements" in the update. What the heck does that mean? Is that saying if I have a GeForce 8600 GT 128MB card that I will be able to run video games and not crash, lock-up, stutter or have unpleasant problems like the other updates 10.5.1,- 5.3,- 5.4? If there are other issues that have popped up I would like to know about those as well.

I have Mac Book Pro ( bought November 2010) that I want to migrate all of the data and applications from, over to a new Mac Book Air? It was suggested that I use the Migration Tool as it is supposed to make an exact clone of the Mac Book Pro machine and put it on the Mac Boor Air. Can that really work if you are going from one platform to another?
I was also told I could restore the data from my time capsule to the MacBook Air.
I'm looking for the easiest method that will leave me with as little to do as possible to get up an running on the Mac Book Air afterwards. I'm not a real strong user and don't want to have to reconfigure applications to make them work.

Connecting your MacBook Pro and your MacBook Air will be the fastest way, but you have to spend money on cables and adapters (also, your MacBook Pro doesn't support Thunderbolt).
As you have a Time Capsule, one thing you can do is to start your MacBook Pro and make a Time Machine backup. Then, turn on your MacBook Air and set it up. Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so select the option to restore the backup from the Time Capsule and be patient. This can take a lot of time if you have to migrate a lot of files -

2 different AD resources for the same physical AD, any problems with this?
A company has merged. All users are now in the same ActiveDirectory under o=TEM,dc=US,dc=Root
The users are scattered in hundreds of ous throughout that tree.
However, I can pin down the users that Waveset is to manage in just 2 OUs: (there are just a handfull of child ous beneath these)
ou=OMpeople,ou=OMbranch,o=TEM,dc=US,dc=Root
ou=KMpeople,ou=KMbranch,o=TEM,dc=US,dc=Root
What I want to try is to have 2 AD resources OMAD and KMAD and their respective ActiveSync policies.
BUT. they are both pointing to same AD. And I guess both ActiveSyncs will be using the same AD changelog.
Will I lose changes relating to OM when the KM A/S poll takes place and the Workflow is run?
Will I lose any KM changes when the OM A/s poll happens..??
The alternative is a horrendous logical nightmare trying to figure out if this user is to be processed or not as I will be having to process all changes for ALL users in the AD.

- find the file "downloads"/ choose the add on + install

Any problem with the BREAK ON COLUMN on REPORT statement
Hi All,
We are using the sql query output to print a summary report in our application.
We are taking a ref cursor variable and capturing all the data into this. There is a group by
Clause in the select statement that will populate the ref cursor variable. And there is a BREAK on one of the column.
While printing the ref cursor variable data after each group data first line there is a gap of 4 lines and then it is printing the next line.
The format is like this.
COLA COLB COLC
abc mno XYZ
kgh yop
ksjd djf
def mno XYZ
kgh yop
ksjd djf
Is there any problem with this format. Please advice.

On my Mac Mini, I keep getting this error message: "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server". I don't have any problems with iCloud on my laptop / PC. It works fine... Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Your Mac must be on Lion (10.7) to run iCloud. Apple had to change the operating system to fully support it. Nevertheless, it is possible to get emails from iCloud without having Lion. Please tell me if this interests you.

After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?
My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite. -
