Workstation with healthy Zen agent, but no icons/shortcus

I have a workstation that has the latest agent successfully installed (11.2.4) and is registered, and everything looks OK. But the shortcuts we deliver to the start menu and desktop do not appear. Zentray is running, looking good. Ran "zac cc" and "zac refresh", but still no ZCM icons for the user or workstation. Any ideas?

Is there a utility that can/will parse the log file to reveal "issues of interest", and perhaps interpret?
There's one that I know of, but I don't think its' free. Mindworks has a log viewer for ZCM. They have an eval license that'll work for 100 lines of a log file.

I have removed my external hard drive from my laptop and moved it to a workstation, both pc. I have authorized the workstation with my apple id, but somehow I cannot see my music that is on the external drive in my itunes. Any suggestions?

You can usually enter anything you want for the user name, but the password will need to be the device password for the AirPort Extreme....(not the wireless network password).

Travelling with a Zen To

I want to go travelling with my Zen Touch but am worried about how to recharge the battery. Has anyone from the UK recharged it outside the UK? Is there such a thing as a battery pack for the Zen Touch?

What does the input voltage / Hz rating show on your power adaptor? I am not sure about the units sold in your region, but the power adaptors in the US are typically the switching uni'versals. But don't assume anything, we're talking electricity here, so for your safety, let's check the voltage listed on your unit specifically.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Further info: I am a complete newbie to Mac. Had three macs prior to 2000 then four PCs. Just come back and struggling a bit with the unfamiliarity. On my old PC laptop I could simply switch from the laptop screen to the large external monitor (and back) with the F4 function key. While I can get the background image from my MBA to display, that's it. Until I noticed on the far left of the external monitor, the very edge of one of the web pages I was on. So Idragged it over to display in the centre. But that's all that's there. And now I have gone out of those web pages but they are still displaying on the monitor. There is some wierd disconnect. I'm sure it is just a setting thing. Will keep searching for answer but any advice welcome!

Your dsplay is getting extended onto the external monitor. Chcnage the setting to duplicate it or only display on the external monitor and you should be fine,

That message means that you have to restore the iPad now. There was a problem with the update. So connect the iPad to your computer and restore your iPad.

Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.

If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.

If you have a external USB enclosure - trying installing your hard drive in that enclosure and connect it to your usb port - restart your macbook while holding down the options key. If you Macbook boots to your desktop then you have a faulty cable. If you get the same error, then your hard drive just died on you.

Hi, having trouble with my iMac on startup. Background screen appears, but no icons,

Having trouble with my iMac- on startup, the background screen appears, but no icons. The spinning beach ball appears for quite a long while, then when the icons finally come up, when I open a finder window, the only icons to appear are the Network and Macintosh HD icons. I've tried to repair disk permissions: this came up with heaps of errors, which it then fixed, but the original problem remains.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Same problem(s) in safe mode?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Maintenance Cleanup Task fails when executed with SQL Agent but dont if executed manually

I have a job that fails with the following error if exectued via the SQL Server Agent but not if executed manually.
The error is:
Error: 2014-03-31 21:30:14.89 Code: 0xC002F210 Source: Maintenance Cleanup Task Execute SQL Task Description: Executing the query "EXECUTE master.dbo.xp_delete_file 0,N'\\erpfiles\b..."
failed with the following error: "xp_delete_file() returned error 2, 'The system cannot find the file specified.'". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly,
or connection not established correctly. End Error
I have checked and the user configured to run the SQL Agent has all needed accesses to the folder \\erpfiles\b....
Have you an idea to help me go further in my troubleshooting ? Or have you an idea to solve my problem ?

I think reason for this is the service account having no permissions on the specified folder path. Thats when you get this error most of the times. The user logged in might have access but please keep in mind that sql agent job makes use of service account
to execute the job which would still need access to the pat to delete the files
What you can do is add a proxy account and give it access to folder path and use it to execute the job

Repeating your question in the post doesn't fully explain what the problem is. Are you saying that you installed the game and it is trying to install again?
Without knowing anymore than why you have posted ..... try rebooting the iPad and see if the installing resumes, the download disappears .....
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Oh boy! Acting kind of weird seems to be an understatement, aquaequus!
What type of troubleshooting were we able to do with you? I want to make sure that we can get some sort of resolution for this problem.
It is quite possible the battery door may get your phone in working order again. I'm not sure if the store has it in stock, but it is available in our warehouse for $14.99 which can be ordered via customer service.
