World clock issue

does anyone noticed that with ne the mountain lion the world clocks widget in the dashboard cannot be set? every one doesn't show the city, am/pm and the most important thing the "i" that allows you to turn it and set it.

Hi TrinityGal3
The only thing I can think of is dat you opened the folder /Library/Preferences while it should be
~/Library/Preferences
(see step 3 in my previous posting) It's important not to forget the ~ sign

  • Dashboard world clock issue

Since ML I can't add any standard world clock widget to my dashboard other than automatically set up to my local time.
Any one wit same issue ?
    Any Ideas ?
    Jean.

    I finally called Apple Care.
The solution is to delete the corrupted plist file named "widget-com.apple.widget.worldclock.plist"
in the preferences folder in your user library
Restart the computer, a new file is created and you can make your dashboard clock widget settings as usual.

  • Multiple World clock issues

I travel from the U.S. to Tokyo and other Asian cities on a regular basis. Thus, have set a number major cities clocks.
Problem is, They were entered in a random fashion as I visted each location. I would like to arrange them in a time zone sequence(east to west, west to east, doesn't matter), but there does not appear a way to do this, except delete and replace manually.
This really is not an effiecient way of doing things.
And Inevitabily, a new city will need to be added. There is no way to insert it in proper sequence with "delete-replace" again.
Anyone know how to do this or have ideas?
Also, how do I set the city I happen to be in as the default for the the period I am there?
    Thanks in advance.

    Ok guys, I got it.
Removing .plist file works fine for me too, but I need to restart the Mac (killing the process doesn't work).
For those who read this message, I found the following link usefull:

On step 4, however, I had to restart the Mac.

  • Help with time issue needed.  World Clock times 1hr ahead of correct time

although the time on the iPhone home screen is right (top of screen). That is, since I'm in central time, the iPhone shows, say 5:14 (time now) but a city in World Clock in central zone shoes 6:14. Other cities in other zones are off by the +1hour amount. Many calls to Apple and AT&T, now the finger pointing has started.
Multiple phones in my location have the same problem. All three in our family, two owned by a colleague and 2 on display at the AT&T store.
The problem clears up when I'm well out of the area, say Nashville or Bowling Green but reappears when I'm back home in West Kentucky. AT&T says their network is fine, must be the phone or app; Apple says since multiple phones with several versions of the operating system are showing the issue, must be AT&T.
    Ideas?

I am having the same issue (clocks not matching) with my iPod Classic. Definitely not an AT&T issue!

  • Issues with World Clock widget in Notification Center

The widget is inconsistent when showing the correct time for foreign locations. Right now it's showing the time in Perth as 5pm when it's actually 5am. The times in London and Paris are correct. Is anyone else having this issue?

I don't even see AM or PM in the World Clock -- only an analog 12-hour dial.  It's not adequate.  A world clock ought to display either AM/PM or 24-hour time (should be a configurable preference) and also the date.

  • Bug in iOS world clock not refreshing?

If I view the world clock in iOS 7 and leave to another app for a few minutes/hours, and then return to the clock app, the world clock remains at the time I last viewed it. It appears to not refresh to the latest time. The only way to update the clock is if I view something else in the clock app such as alarms etc. or tap it from digital to analog and back.
    Does this happen to you?
I have 11 time zones setup.

Hi Ckuan, the issue is back. I think it's a bug. Here is another screenshot.
    Steps to repeat:
    1. view the world clock in digital view (I have tested with 11 clocks)
    2. leave the world clock as-is and go to other apps
    3. go back to the world clock after several minutes/hours without touching the clocks
If you scroll the clocks, it can refresh to the latest time. Some clocks are already refreshed. Some are at the last time viewed.
This issue can happen with or without automatically setting the time. When travelling, I turn off several features. I noticed this when I nearly missed a meeting and quoted a time incorrectly.

  • World clocks have wrong hour

The world clocks are showing the wrong hour.
    This is my situation:
    * I live in Belgium, which is GMT+1
    * I have selected GMT+1 at Settings > Date & time > Time Zone
    * I have entered the correct hour
    * Because of Daylight savings time, the hour changed recently: 2AM became 1AM
    * I changed the hour accordingly, and noticed that the "world clocks" (Extras > Clocks) aren't showing the correct hour. Right now it should be 19:17 and it's displaying 20:17 for Brussels, Belgium.
I'm not sure if it was displaying correctly before the Daylight savings time.
    Anyone else having this problem?

I have the same issue with my Classic, especially in cities that are not affected by DST.
Unfortunately the ipod does not feature editing the time yourself. Edit for the developers just mean picking up another city, nothing else.

  • World Clock Problems

My girlfriend's iPhone has been acting up since we got it. She can't add any cities to the world clock. We'll type in something, and press on the city, and nothing. It just goes back to the world clock screen and says "No World Clocks". We've even gone to the Apple Store and the guy at the genius bar said that he's never seen it, and that hopefully the update would fix it. It hasn't.
Has anyone else run into this problem and figured out a way to fix it.
    Thanks

I had the same issue with my 8GB iPhone running 1.0.2. Couldn't add any world clocks (showed me lists of cities but when I select one it doesn't add it) and there was no default (there should be a single default - Cupertine CA) - just a message stating No World Clocks.
The first thing I tried was a full restore (but first, using iTunes preferences, I deleted my old iPhone backup and did a resync to force a current iPhone backup to be made). After the restore, I did not allow the backup to be restored initially because I wanted to test the world clock feature on a clean slate. Unfortunately, it still didn't work (same behavior). Then I did allow the back to restore and still no world clocks. At this point, I called Apple and got support to help - they recommended going to the iPhone Settings menu and choosing to Reset the iPhone settings from there. Voila' - fixed the problem - now I can add world clocks. I guess if you're experiencing this problem, the first thing to try might be to use the iPhone Settings->General->Reset feature.
    Good Luck.

  • World clock 1 hour to early in Amman

Last week we were in Amman Jordan with à group.
We and all Iphone / IPad users woke up one hour to early due to wrong time in the iOS world clock !!!
What actions  are recommendable to protect future users of the iOS alarm clock ??

    Hey there Evermoor,
It sounds like your World Time section of the Clock app is reporting the incorrect time. This information is privided to the phone by the cellular carrier when it is set to automatically update. Use the following information to help determine of the time is being set automatically. If not, then turn that on and see if the time corrects itself. If not then use the rest of the information to reach out to your Carrier.
iOS: Troubleshooting issues with date and time
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3920
Follow these steps. Test after each step to see if the issue is resolved.
Ensure that the version of iOS on your device is up to date.
If the option to enable date and time automatically is available, turn it on. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Ensure that your time zone is set up correctly. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone.
If the incorrect date, time, or time zone is being set up automatically on the device, please notify your cellular provider. In the meantime, tap General > Date & Time and turn off Set Automatically. Then set the appropriate time and time zone manually.
Note: The option to set automatically might not be available on all carriers in all countries.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • Phone clock is 30-seconds behind the World CLock??

What is the process to sync the phone with the World Clock. Mine is 00:30 behind the World Clock that is used as the official time at all network levels. I've reset, rebooted, re-synced and it's still 30-seconds behind. What is wrong?

I have the same issue. My iPhone 4 is about 45 seconds behind every other atomic clock or computer I have. I just noticed that. Also, the clock on the phone and the world time on the phone seem to be in sync (they're both behind.) My 3G was always dead on with every other device that automatically updates the clock.
The issue here is not about it being 30 seconds off or 45 seconds off or 10 seconds off. The issue here is that this shows yet another way in which the iPhone 4 is inferior to its predecessors and other phones out there that have no problem displaying the accurate time. It's little things like this that if Apple doesn't correct in a timely manner, they will begin to tarnish Apple's reputation. Apple has set the standard up until now for thinking about the "little things" that most manufacturers overlook. Now, as Android devices are definitely turning up the heat on Apple, it seems that Apple is forgetting to remember the little things and check to see that they actually work as they should.
Make no mistake that I do like my iPhone 4. However, between the newly discovered time accuracy issue and the ever-present proximity sensor issue I'm also experiencing (which to me is the far greater problem), I am considering taking the phone back in a few weeks. I've got too much money invested in Apps and the like to ditch iPhones forever, but I may go back to using a cheap phone with no bells and whistles if Apple refuses to own up to the flaws in the iPhone 4 and correct them within my 30 day return window. Once the folks at Apple get over their big egos and assure us that these issues have been resolved (whether that takes a software update or if I have to wait for iPhone 5), I would move back to the iPhone at that point.

  • My iphone 3gs has started showing the wrong time  and date. All was fine until this afternoon when it changed.  My apps have the right time and date. However the world clock is wrong. I have to turn off the automatic time setting to get the right time.

My iphone is showing the wrong time and date. All was well until sometime this afternoon when it changed...  to Nov 5 (2 days prior to today), and about 9 hours and some minutes before the actual time.  The world clock for my time zone shows the same wrong date and time. My calender shows the same wrong date and time.  The phone can not find my time zone any more.   The only fix I found was to turn off the automatic setting for time.  What is  happening? Ideas?

    just sorted mine went to
    settings-mail,contacts,calender-timezone support
then turned it off then on tapped time zone and typed london
    this did sort mine

  • From where can I download the original Dashboard World Clock for OS 10.6.8? Mine's not working

    Hi there,
I'm not sure what happened but my Dashboard World Clock doesn't work anymore. I had taken it off my dashboard along with other widgets when I was trying to speed up my computer. I then added the same widgets back to the dashboard except the World Clock no longer showed up in the widgets list. The other widgets were all fine.
I can see the World Clock widget file in my widgets folder in Library but it won't show up anywhere on the dashboard so I'd like to download a new file to see if that helps.
    Thanks!

There are multiple world clock dashboard widgets available.
See if you can find the one for the image you posted >   Apple - Downloads - Dashboard
The glitch may be that the one want has been updated to a newer user interface.

  • IPhone World Clock doesn't show the correct times

How do I get the iPhone to show the correct World Clock times. I have the time zone set to San Diego and the clock time is correct. When I set San Diego as one of the World Clock times it shows a time 7 hours behind. New York is 4 hours behind instead of 3 hours ahead, the same 7 hour bust.

    emr1100 ,
Have you tried resetting the phone.? Hold down the sleep/wake button and the home button until it restarts. If that doesn't work, try a restore....please back up your data with a sync before you restore the phone. If that doesn't work take it back to the Apple stor and let them take a look at it. They will fix it or give you another phone. Another idea...call AT&T to see if sometining can be "reset" on their end. You never know ...that might work also.

  • World clock and language settings

LS, If I have my iPod set to local language (Dutch), the world clock shouws all cities in the US as been in the Netherlands, i.e.: Las Vegas, Netherlands. When the laguange set is English, cities are shown correctly, i.a. Atlanta, US. My S/W version is 1.1.2; anybody any thoughts here? THX.

mh, works fine for me, so I guess it's not a general firmware bug.
you could try to restore your ipod, I think that should help.
