  • Massive Photo Gallery Widget looks strange

    Hi guys
I am working with a new widget called "Massive Photo Gallery Widget" and it should look like this: http://musegrid-massive-photo-gallery.businesscatalyst.com/
but on my website it looks like this: Bildergallerie
I think it looks a little bit like the menu I have on the website. The menu is also a new bought widget and it's called "Steal Menu Widget". Maybe the other widgets aren't compatible to the steal menu widget or something like this?
    Thank you and kind regards

    Hello Sanjit
Thanks for your answer. When I look to the widget on my website it looks like this:
I'm working with google chrome, maybe that's the reason why we see different widgets?

  • Widgets behaving strangely

Apologies if this has been answered before. I have various widgets & have noticed lately that whenever I access them after my mac has been switched off, they are quite often in different positions & the Weather widget quite often forgets my location & defaults to Cupertino instead of the location I have set. This is happening on both my MacBook Pro with 10.5.8 & with my iMac running 10.5.7
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Ben

Have you tried trashing the widgets plist files and restarting your computer afterwards?
If you do a forum search, you will find many threads about the weather widget acting strange.

  • My own website looks strange in Firefox, but it is good in Safari, why?

The shadows behind my photos in my website (under the SHOP) looks strange. They are completely black with clear edges, but when I put my pictures so I have just added a little blurry shadows behind the images.
This problem did not exist before, it's just a couple of months been like this in Firefox.
    Sincerely Mahzoni

That is unfortunately a bug (Bug 662898) that slipped into Firefox 5 and that will be fixed in Firefox 6, due to be released in August.

  • [Solved] Openproj looks strange in the awesome WM

    Hi Community,
I just installed openproj from the AUR. But when I run it in the awesome WM, I found the background of the application looked nearly blank, which made openproj impossible to edit in.
It looks strange. So, openproj cannot be run from the awesome WM?
Any idea will be helpful. Thanks.
    =======
    Solved:
Just edit the file /usr/bin/openproj and add a line to be as follows:
    #!/bin/sh
    wmname LG3D
    java -Xms128m -Xmx768m -jar /usr/share/openproj/openproj.jar > /dev/null

    Edit:
I've found a detailed description from this article: Java GUI application in Awesome Window Manager.
There is a known problem with Java and the non-reparenting Window Managers like for example Awesome.
Java applications which use the XToolkit/XAWT backend may draw gray windows only. The XToolkit/XAWT backend breaks ICCCM-compliance in JDK 5 and 6 because it assumes a reparenting window manager.
There are a number of places where this is described:
        * in the FAQ : GUI Java apps appear as a gray screen!
        * in the wiki Problems with Java
        * in the Man page
    To sum up:
        * it doesn't affect version Java 1.4.2 and before.
        * it doesn't affect version Java 1.7 and hopefully after.
        * the best workaround by far, is to set a name to the Window Manager, so it is recognise by Java as a non-reparenting Window Manager. A simple utility allow to set this name. Just add 'wmname LG3D' to your .xinitrc or simply run it.
        * Here are other workarounds left here for reference:
o launch another X server, like Xephyr
o set the following environment variable (to use the older Motif back-end instead): AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit. But this won't work in the following cases :
                    + OpenJDK/IcedTea doesn't include the Motif toolkit.
+ doesn't work for x86_64 Java, for whatever reason

  • Itunes is displaying in Japanese , all th fonts look strange. Just upgraded

    Athlon Windows XP
Just upgraded to 7.02 and all text looks strange and music looks to be for the Japan market and price of download in in Yen. All my setting in iTunes are for English.
    What can I do?

    ME TOO!
At first I thought it was cute, "oh look now I can listen to cool J-pop bands like Bump of Chicken and BoA", but it won't go away. Where is my itms that I know and love.
And who wants to pay up to 200 yen for a song? That's like two dollars.
    Plus I can't read Japanese.
Is everyone's iTunes like this right now?

  • Cpu socket looks strange-can be cause of boot problem?

Actual question: can cpu socket like on attached picture cause boot problems?
    tinypic.com/r/1pxnxs/6
(Some pins look strange while I am sure I did not do anything which can cause that)
(Sorry was not able attach pic, so shared on external site - blame android?)
I got problem with booting msi g33m motherboard, I tried various ways and was able to boot couple times, but after reboot the problem returns. When disassembly components for nth time, I noticed strange hole in cpu socket, so I wonder if it can be reason for boot problems? Currently fans run in ÷half speed when nothing connected to mb, if I connect gpu or sata drive, fans are pulsing, and led near power button on tower is blinking, but nothing more happens.

The pin(s) are bent it seems and can be carefully bent back to proper alignment most of the time using tweezers and or tiny jewelers/eyeglass screwdriver.
Yes the problem you describe can definitely be caused by poor pin contact with the pads on the CPU. Depending on what pins are bent or make poor contact there could be many different kinds of problems. In fact many more on newer ones with memory controller and other controllers in the CPU that used to be in the northbridge chip. If you or a friend, family member can't bend pin(s) back into alignment then possibly you could have a local jeweler or watch repair shop do it for you.

  • Dialog boxes looking strange

Since the last update to the OS, all of my dialog boxes and even some programs have looked strange. Here are some examples:

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on or how I could go about fixing it?

I finally had time to reinstall the OS from the DVD. I did not reformat and reinstall, just a reinstall. It did not work, my dialog boxes still look wrong. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

  • [SOLVED] Desktop looks strange after upgrade to Gnome3!

    Hi there,
I just upgraded my system (about 200 packages) and when I rebooted my Login-Screen looked strange.
When I logged in the strange screen persisted... Arch told me that Gnome3 couldn't be loaded and
that this has probably something to do with my graphics hardware.
This is what it looks like:

As you can see my Dekstop looks like shit. Also the WiFi Password isnt saved, which is a minor issue for me.
But what really sucks is that the system flag is missing!!
I have no idea how to even start to solve this...
    Please help!!!

  • Why is Apple's Address Book widget looking outdated?

I've the latest updates on my new iMac, but I noticed that the standard Address Book widget that comes with Dashboard looks outdated. You have to type in a name to get it working, no arrows. On the Mac at work this widget is dynamic and easy to flip through. Even on apple.com it shows the cool looking one. Strangely enough the boring looking one is version 1.1 and the cool looking one at work is an older version 1.0.2. Is this a design update mistake? Has anyone else noticed this? How do I fix this?
    I'll appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
    -Mike

Dutchy, it looks like that is the way it is supposed to look now. If you would like it the other way in a future release, you can go to the Mac OS X tab above and then Feedback to make your suggestion to Apple. Otherwise you might look for a widget that does what you like, or better yet, create your own.

  • [SOLVED] forms looking strange in opera since upgrade to gnome 3.4

    Hi!
I just upgraded my gnome installation to gnome 3.4 and now I see some strange rendering effects in opera regarding forms.
First problem is that text fields now have an inner border. This creates a 3D effect but looks kind of strange because the text overlaps this inner border:
The second (and more severe) problem is that entries of a drop-down menu disappear when they are hovered:
I searched through gnome's and opera's theme settings but couldn't find any option that could change this behaviour. I also tried removing the .opera directory but it also didn't help.
Can anyone confirm these problems and has anyone an idea how to fix it?
    Greetings,
    Michael
PS: The screenshots were taken in this forum (search form) but can be seen on all other websites with standard forms.
    edit:
fixed in opera 12 build 1406 (currently beta status and only available on AUR)

lucke wrote:Perhaps you have aldabra set as the gtk+ theme in gnome-tweak-tool.
Good idea, but it's set to Adwaita.
    -- edit:
ok, this is definately a problem with opera and the new version of Adwaita. If I use the old Adwaita version, that's included in gnome-themes-standard-3.2.1-1, as GTK+ theme both problems are solved. But then other things look weird...
I reported this to the opera team. A workaround is to set "Dialog Toolkit" to 1 (qt) or 4 (neither gtk nor qt) in opera:config.

  • The images in my html widget look blurry!

Hey there, I'm making some html widgets for my book using HYPE. When I insert this into the ibooks the program shows the preview image in crisp high quality but when I preview it on the iBook, the figure looks somewhat blurred. When I tap on the figure to enlarge it and make it interactive, everything looks fine and crisp, it's only the preview window before it's enlarged that doesn't looks so good. I even tried replacing the preview with a separate picture and previewing that but whatever I do, the preview just doesn't look sharp. Does anyone have any solutions I can try?
    Thanks,
    Caleb

Blurry preview icon for HTML widget
The best way to handle this issue is to make the preview icon transparent and place it over your own custom reference graphic on the page.
1- Place on the page the graphic you will be using as the reference icon for the widget
2- Place your widget on top of the custom graphic icon.  Make sure it is in "Front".  Also make the preview icon is as small as possible.
3- Click on the preview icon TWICE and make its transparency "0".  If you only click the preview icon once the Transparency slider will not become active.
4- Now, when you preview the book, your Widget Link will open your custom HTML Widget and both will display at full resolution.
A bonus result of doing this... Since your link is transparent you can make it as large as needed to make it a large enough touch target.

  • Maximizing windows looks strange in Gnome 3.2

Since I upgraded to Gnome 3.2, maximizing windows looks really strange (the left and top border of the window is cut off).

  • View of PDF file changes or looks strange when opening a file.

    Hi all,
I have strange problem, that is haunting me.
A PDF file is created from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 system. I guess that Microsoft have their own pdf-writer-engine.
From time to time, we have seen that the PDF files, on some computers looks correct, on others gibberish.
One user has a Win7 machine, 32-bit system. 4gb of memory. Today he opened a PDF file from the AX system. When He opened the file on his desktop., it looked fine. After 5 seconds. The entire view changed to strange signs and letters. I opened the same file on a Win-7, 64 bit machine. Everything looks allrigt.  Both of us have Adobe Reader 11.04 installed. one-two houes after the first error, he opened another PDF file. That started to look like gibberish, and after 5 seconds it looked allright.
In general we only see these types of errors something like 1 out of a hundred times. Most common is that the view is gibberish from the beginning, and never changes.
Any idea to solve this, will be much appriciated
    /Hector

I think this is done by the browser when it is saving a temporary file and there's already a file with that exact name in the temp folder.

  • Widget acts strangely in Safari, but okay in MSIE and Firefox

This may be asking a lot from iWeb, but I've written a small Javascript calculator widget and inserted it into a page as an HTML snippet. It has several text entry fields. The strange thing that is happening in Safari is that if the cursor is in one of the text fields and the user hits the enter/return key, Safari will load a new page consisting of the the widget only. Other than this return/enter key problem, the widget performs perfectly. And there are no problems at all in Firefox or Internet Explorer. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm using Safari Version 3.1.2.
Here is a link to the problem page:
    http://electronbunker.sasktelwebsite.net/BandspreadCalc.html

I resolved the problem. (Or, more correctly, someone on a javascript forum resolved it for me.) Apparently, Safari was attempting to submit the form when the enter key was pressed, whereas the other browsers don't do this. To fix the problem the form tag had to be revised
    from this:
    <form>
    To this:
    <form onsubmit="return false">
