Worldwide management of windows mobile 5 devices

Hi,
We have zf 7.01 running, but it looks like this will only work with internal
access points.
We want to manage out windows mobile 5 (Htec TyTn) devices worldwide,
anywhere, anytime, anyplace. Is this possible with ZfH 7.1 or do you need to
buy an alternate product?
regards,
Mark

  • How to run an application on windows mobile 6 device ?

    Hi everybody,
How can you run an application on a windows mobile 6 device with the new SDK 3.0 ?
Can you launch a MIDLET like any other program ? or running your MIDLET on windows mobile 6 is only for testing while you are developing.
When you finished your MIDLET, can you copy the jar file to the mobile device with windows mobile 6 and to run it anytime ?
    Thank you.

Its simply a matter of opinion, but I'm 3-months-in, developing for WM5 + WM6 and the only usable solution I've found that has the correct look and feel on Windows Mobile as well as JSR support is IBM's J9.
It's not free, but I searched high and low, and it's the only product that I was happy with.
    Here's a [screenshot of it running my application on WM6 emulator|http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9hmP3Ho0t14/S7eDTXfkE9I/AAAAAAAAAa0/ISZ-HohZQDs/s1600/wm6.png] .
Here's a [quick article I wrote for it.|http://fatbuttlarry.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-02-16T11%3A34%3A00-08%3A00&max-results=7] Remember, it's NOT free. Pricing is very fair, but you'll have to license it to use and distribute it.

  • How to force Windows Mobile Professional device to use only Wi-fi network provisioned through Afaria 7 SP4

    Hi
We are deploying Windows Mobile Professional devices on our environments. All the devices connects only to internal network through Wi-fi.  Our security policy do not allow these devices to be connected to any other network (Other Wi-fi, Cellular etc).  Is there any way to force the devices to use only the Wi-fi network provisioned through Afaria.

I have the same problem with an early 2013 macbook pro. gfxCardStatus ( http://gfx.io/ ) will allow you to force integrated and not do dynamic switching, however the external display still doesn't work.

  • WRT54GXv2 Won't Allow Windows Mobile 5 Device to Connect

Using the WRT54GX as a WAP with DHCP and NAT turned off.  Installed latest firmware earlier today.  DHCP is being supplied by a SonicWall SOHO 3.  Both PC's and MAC's can connect wirelessly (WEP 128 bit key) but my new T-Mobile MDA phone tries to connect but then drops.  I verified the WIFI on the phone works by connecing to a T-Mobile WIFI Zone at Borders books earlier today.
Is there an issue with Windows Mobile 5 devices and the WRT54GXv2?  Is there a workaround?
    Thanks!

Try to configure the router this way:
Connecting a Wireless Linksys router to a regular Ethernet Linksys Router
Now since you are issuing DHCP on a Sonicwall SOHO3, make sure your router is on that range instead of the router IP on the directions on that link. Goodluck! Remember it's from a regular port from Sonic wall to a regular port on the WRT54GX..

  • Windows Mobile 6 device - no connection

    Hello,
I used this wiki to connect my winmobile6 device to my pc, but they won't talk to each other... That's what all synce-progs say (the particular command in this case was synce-matchmaker status):
** Message: Device /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_bb4_bce_eac31211_5943_e103_f800_0050bf3f5173_if1_serial_usb_1 not fully set in Hal, skipping

I don't really know how to set them in Hal or whatever I may have to do.

    Mine's synce-hal 0.13.1-1 but I don't se any action.
Maybe there is an issue that kernel doesn't sense any plugging when I connect my SE Xperia
Tail /var/log doesn't show any plugging at all.
I've try several packages, but maybe I've to investigate why no reports from the kernel.
I'd like to sync my contact.
    EDIT:
good news, I can connect to my Xperia, but as I read over many webpages an Wikis:
    o) Must use the original cable from SE
    o) Need to modprobe rndis and ifconfig rndis0 up. Better if download rndis-lite module
    o) I just left out to start a partnership and now I see only the program list of installed program on the Xperia
    Further investigations to come :)
    EDIT2:
I realize no hope to get Kde4 Kontact synchronized with my pockecPC. Here and also here explain why.
I know something about python, but I don't know how to reformat the data to be imported in Kontact :(

  • Not Connecting To Windows Mobile Device Center

I want to be able to connect with a Windows Mobile Device through Windows Mobile Device Center, within a Virtual Machine.  When connecting through the Hyper-V Manager and through Remote Desktop, under "Other supported RemoteFX USB devices",
I can see the Symbol USB Sync Cradle.  In the VM, in Device Manager, I don't see a USB connection.  In the VM, I don't see any meaningful errors in the Event Viewer.
Host:  Windows 8.1 Enterprise Hyper-V on a Domain.  Upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro.  When this computer was originally installed with Windows 8 Pro, Hyper-V was enabled.  I removed Hyper-V, and installed VMWare Player, because I wanted
USB Pass-through.  I then uninstalled VMWare and installed VirtualBox.  Recently, I uninstalled VirtualBox, upgraded to Windows 8.1 Enterprise, and enabled Hyper-V.
Virtual Machine OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 on a Workgroup.  Started out with being a VMWare VM, using VMWare Player.  Moved to VirtualBox.  USB Pass-through was working in both those virtual environments.  Used Disk2VHD to convert the
    VM to a VHDX file.
    On the Host:
Windows Mobile Device Center is connected to a Motorola Windows Mobile Device (MC959X) sitting in a Symbol USB Cradle.  The OS on the scanner is Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 Classic CE OS 5.2.29217 (Build 29217.5.3.12.26).  Advanced Networking
(USB to PC) is not enabled.
    Enabled RemoteFX.
In the RDP file, and in the Registry, added the GUID's for:
    WPD "{eec5ad98-8080-425f-922a-dabf3de3f69a}";
    Windows Mobile "{6AC27878-A6FA-4155-BA85-F98F491D4F33}";
    USB Device "{88BAE032-5A81-49f0-BC3D-A4FF138216D6}";
    Windows CE USB Device "{25dbce51-6c8f-4a72-8a6d-b54c2b4fc835}";
    GUID_DEVINTERFACE_USB_DEVICE "{A5DCBF10-6530-11D2-901F-00C04FB951ED}"
    Ran "sfc /scannow"
    All Microsoft Updates are current.
    What am I missing?

Thank you for your efforts. I have followed those instructions, but I am still not all the way there yet.
Now, on the Guest, in the Device Manager, under Mobile Devices, I see the Symbol USB Sync.  But Windows Mobile Device Center still does not connect.

  • SCCM 2012 Windows Mobile 5.0

We have Windows Mobile 5.0 Handheld devices, I hope we can manage these devices using SCCM as it supports legacy management for Windows Mobile by  mobile device legacy client.   is my understanding is correct or is there any other way.

If you look at the supported configs doc here (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx#BKMK_MDMLegacy), you will see that only Windows CE 5.0 is supported.
If your Windows Mobile 5.0 handheld are not Windows CE 5.0, then they are not supported.
The chart says that the oldest Windows Mobile is 6.0.

  • Lync 2013 Windows Mobile 8 connection issues

    Hi
I have setup an internal test Lync 2013 system to get sign off from management. I have installed all the roles on a single server. So far clients on PC's can sign in and so can iOS devices once I had turned on the internal web settings. However, we use Windows
Mobile 8 devices and I can't get any to connect. What ever I try I get a message saying that I need to check my network connection.
These devices are on the same internal network as the iOS devices. Is there anything special that needs to be done for Windows Mobile to work?
    Thanks.

    Hi
Sorry for the delay in replying. I have tried your suggestions and a Windows Mobile 8 device will still not connect. I have saved the log files and attached them. I can't see what the actual error is!
I have recreated my internal Root CA to include http urls in crl & cdp as this is mentioned as an issue, but this hasn't worked either.
    Thanks.

  • Connect to Oracle Database from Windows Mobile

Is there any Oracle Client product that will allow Windows mobile powered devices to connect to an oracle database? I'm using .net and the compact framework 2.0.
    Anyone have a clue?
    Regards,
    Andras Eliassen

I think I would call it a client tool. Maybe I wasn't so precise in my previous post, sorry. What I need is basically this:
I have a 9i database that is running on a unix box on my network. I have created a Visual Basic .Net application that is using ODT to select, insert, update and delete records in this database - and also executes some stored procedures.
Now I'm trying to move to the next step, and I want my windows mobile powered device/phone to do the same thing - Select, insert, update, delete and execute stored proc/pckgs on the database.
The only way I have found to do this, is by implementing some webservice or something in between my windows mobile device, and the database, because I cannot find dataaccess drivers/components (ODT or the like) that will work on a windows mobile powered device.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Andras Eliassen

  • Does isync sync with windows mobile 5? if not whats best phone

    hi all,
i have a htc260 windows 5 smartphone. will this sync succesfully with mac tiger? if so...how? i am currently struggling with mising sync...which is really hit and miss. if this cant be done succesfully which is the best smartphone platform (except iphone as not available in uk)...going nuts. thanx in advance
    shaun

iSync does not support any Windows Mobile OS device, including the latest Windows Mobile 5 or 6 platforms.
I'm not sure why you're having a hit or miss experience with the Missing Sync for WIndows Mobile: even with an operating system as difficult to interact with as Windows Mobile, the process of setting up and synchronizing such a device should be straightforward. Have you attempted to contact Mark/Space for assistance?

You can use SyncMate. I've downloaded it but have yet to try it as my phone should be here tomorrow. Seems like a nice little program. You can get it here... http://www.eltima.com/download/syncmate/

  • IPhone 4 / Bluetooth / Windows 7 / Peripheral Device not installed?

I am unable to install my iphone 4 to the new laptop I have, OS Windows 7. The devices pair fine and recognize each other, I just keep receiving error messages when the driver automatically installs. It reads "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" not installed. Any solutions???
    Thanks
    -Jonny

I realise this is an old topic, but it seems everyone has the wrong band-aid fix.
The correct fix is as follows:
The issue is that Windows doesn't recognise the iPhone as a Bluetooth Peripheral Device and cannot find the correct driver to download and install.
    Follow the following steps:
    - First, you need to install the appropriate 'Windows Mobile Device Support' software for your version of windows (32 and 64 bit versions have different files to download).  It may look like it didn't install in Windows 7, but that's ok.  It did.
    - Turn on the bluetooth discovery mode on the iPhone.
    - Select 'Add a Device' in Devices and Printers, follow the instructions to connect and enter the 8 or 9 digit key into your iPhone.
    - Your iPhone should be found and automatically install all the software and drivers except for the Bluetooth Peripheral Device driver.
    - In Devices and Printers, right click the iPhone, select properties, and then the hardware tab.
    - The first device function should be 'HID-compliant consumer control device. Ensure it's selected.
    - Select Properties, and in the next window select 'update driver'
    - Select 'Browse my computer for driver software'
    - Select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
    - Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the left hand side listing
    - In the next window, select 'Microsoft Corporation' on the left, and 'Windows Mobile-based Device support' from the right side.
    - Install this option, clicking through the warnings and accepting this option.
    - Now you have the device driver installed, and your iPhone will be connected via Bluetooth when you need to pair it - great for file transfers and internet access without turning the radio on.
I hope this helps.  This is the proper fix.  Not the 'pressing two keys at the same time' or unchecking the option that only allows some features to be used.

  • Playing Shockwave Flash (.swf) in Windows Mobile 6

We have developed a web application that ultimately presents as a .swf file. This runs on a pc through a browser. I would like to demonstrate the app on a Windows Mobile 6 device (HTC). I am completely confused about whether this is possible and what I need to install to enable this. I have installed Flash Player Lite 2.1 but this does not play the .SWF. Can anybody help, please? The phone as IE & Opera browsers pre-installed but no Flash player.

Thanks for this but the .SWF file is still treated as a download and
does not play in the browser. On another forum  somebody said that this
is because IE for WM6 does not suport ACtiveX which is needed to install
    the plugin.
I have now (partially got round the problem) by using a new
flash-supporting b rowser called SkyFire. This runs the .SWF but does
not present full-screen and does not recognise flash entry fields as
text so does not give access to the virtual keyboard, which is a little
annoying. This is a new product so hopefully later versions will be better.

  • Synchronization with Windows Mobile

I got my new computer last week... A brand new MacBook Air!
After working professionally with computers for many years, i decided to leave the domain of Windows and buy a Mac... This leaves me...
    Completely disappointed!
When trying to synchronize my cell (a Sony-Ericssion Xperia, X1) I find that there are MAJOR issues concerning synchronization. Yes, there´s a third party program that calims to do the job - Missing Sync. The name itself would make anyone suspicious, and yes, it is the missing link... Totally un-reliable and actually succeeds in synchronising most parts wrong. Finally you find out that it is uncapable of synchronizing emails at all, even if you are running Microsofts Entourage...
Guess that no people that´s a part of the holy Mac church likes to talk about this?
Integrational issues between Mac - Windows doimain is not at all solved, and I am very unhappy.
How can I synchronize my X1 with my Mac, similar to the functionality in Windows?
    Please help me!
    Kind Regards,
    Rickard

Please have a look at the sales pitch for Mac on the web site, stating that there are no problems what so ever when it comes to integration with Windows.
Which integration issues are you referring to? Macs & Windows PCs can co-exist on networks perfectly, they can share files, share documents from the same applications. What integration issues are you having?
Yes, X1 is a rather new cell phone, but not at all the first cell using win mobile
No, but the first from Sony Ericsson, so it's not going to be exactly the same as previous Windows Mobile devices from other manufacturers. With a new implementation of Windows Mobile, on new hardware, from a new manufacturer, there's bound to be issues to resolve. Especially as the third-party developers do not have access to the same resources as the OS or phone manufacturers themselves do.
Why don't you complain to Microsoft or Sony Ericsson because they don't provide Mac users with the same tools to use their products as they do for Windows users? They're potentially missing out on an increasing market.
Blackberry users have the same problem, so it seems.
Blackberry owners have two options for syncing with Mac - one from RIM themselves, and one from Markspace.
Mac has an own distribution of Office, nice but it is not compatible with any other Office pckage when it comes to data migration...
Yes, it is. The current Mac versions of Word, PowerPoint and Excel and share files with the current Windows versions. As stated on Microsoft's web-site, +"Office 2008 for Mac and the 2007 Office suite for Windws share the same default file format"+
In my day job I have to share files with Windows users all day long... no problems at all.
it is most unfortunate that I cannot leave the windows domain behind me
But, you've just bought a brand new +Windows Mobile+ based device - so that would suggest you don't really want to leave Windows behind completely... Why would you choose that over an S60, Symbian, OS X or other non-Windows-based device if you want to leave Windows behind?
Stating "you can install windows on it" is not helpful.
Well, it is if you want to use devices which are currently only supported under Windows. You have no other choice.
