Worried about my iphone getting blocked after buying it from gumtree

Hi Everyone,
I just bought a new boxed iphone 6 with receipt from a guy on gumtree. My worry is now that if this phone was originally bought using a fake credit card, can my phone be blocked? The reason I am now paranoid is because this guy who sold me the phone bought it from apple store just 2 days back. He could have just returned it back to the store. His explanation was that it was bought by his brother who is not in the country now and so he can't return to the store.

Quite a decent deal is suspect but doesn't prove anything about it being stolen. It could be totally legit. Use the phone as you intended. As it stands you have no knowledge if it was stolen or not. If it ends up being blocked then turn it into the police.

i noticed this as a bug in iTunes. make sure the correct file is selected in the preferences menus. It does not have to be the default location directiory as Vazandrew stated. your iTunes music library can be anywhere you want it. i have mine on an external cuz i'm a dj and have over 80,000 songs.
once you select/verify the location of your music library, simply drag the folder into the left panel in iTunes from a finder window. iTunes does not automatically add the items like it use to for some reason.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). The SSL problem has been handled by Apple through security updates to the Mavericks and Mountain Lion and Lion operating systems. If your operating systems are up-to-date you have little to worry about.
The Mac OS X Mavericks update, 10.9.2, is quick and easy to install.
The concerns with the SSL flaw are with using an unsecure public wireless network. If you are using your MBP on a wired network or your own network there is very little likelihood of a problem. The flaw did not allow access to the computer, just third-party eavesdropping on the communication.
But, one should always be aware of the risks involved in transmitting sensitive information such as credit card numbers, bank account information, over any public wireless network. Always use proper secure and encrypted communications when doing that.

IPhone 4s blocks after entering SIM PIN

Since today, my nearly brandnew iPhone 4s blocks after entering the SIM PIN. Yesterday evening it lost the connect to the telephone net and kept on searching for a net. Trying first a restart - and as this did not solve the problem - a hard reset, it now locks up when trying to enter the SIM PIN. It shows "Please wait ..." at the screen and then blocks.
I tried already restart, hard reset, taking the SIM card out and putting it back again, disabling 3G and Mobile Data. Nothing helped.
If I do not try to unlock the SIM card then I can proceed (but not use the iPhone as telephone).
Any idea what I could try else?

It's as simple as this:
Open iTunes.
Click iTunes Store on the left side of the screen.
Look on the left side - click Purchased (it has a NEW graphic next to it)
You will see everything you have every purchased from iTunes. You can redownload any of it.

After inserting the original DVD I installed OSX and after reboot I had a working computer.
There was no opportunity to restore the TM backup. however when I rebooted from the
DVD again I saw that possibility from a menu of the install utility.
I ran through the restore over night (8 hours) and when I woke up, I had my computer back!

Since seven this morning (now its 21.00) have I tried to purchase a product from adobe. There is a glitch in the link so that I'm send to the wrong prize. I've chatted numerous times with a lot of people. None of them have been able to sell me the right product. Everytime Theres a waiting period and the chat is cut of!

Living in a country not served by any provider locally, I purchased an unlocked iPhone 3G (I know I know, not good at all) and of course after trying to update it, the end result is a completely blocked phone !
Is there any solution to unblock it without any Apple shop/retailer/repair center in the country !

If you have an illegally unlocked phone, updating the firmware will re-lock it to the original carrier and country - or brick the phone entirely. (Officially unlocked phones would not re-lock with updating.) Unfortunately, "unofficially" unlocking the phone has voided the warranty, which was valid only in the country of sale anyway.
Your only possible recourse is to move to the country where it was sold and use it there. You also can try getting a replacement or refund from whomever sold it to you (lots of luck!).

What leads you to believe that you are entitled to an upgrade because of a hardware issue?
Warranty only entitles you to the same model/capacity device as replacement.
If you are out of warranty, you pay out of warranty replacement cost which is $199 (regardless of model/capacity).
If you are eligible for full-discount upgrade, that would be the better route to go.
If you are not eligible for full-discount upgrade, the most economical solution is warranty or out of warranty replacement.

It shouldn't - not if the iPhone is officially unlocked, with this info requested and provided by 3Mobile to Apple which allowed you to unlock the iPhone with iTunes in the first place.
This definitely happens when installing a firmware update on an iPhone that has been hacked to be unlocked or that is unofficially unlocked.

It is expecting your to be running your own server - AFAIK it's not designed for use when you are expecting to host on a commercially run server but I'm not sure about that. You should ask in the OS X Server forum applicable to the version you have. If you are not running OSX server then this program appears not to be suitable for you.

Everyone Stop Worrying About The iPhone 5 It's Not Coming Out This Year!

Many have been saying, don't buy the Verizon iPhone 4 because in 6 months it will be outdated by the iPhone 5, this is completely false! Just because Apple has introduced a new iPhone every year doesn't mean it couldn't skip a year, I mean it's only happened 4 years in a row not 50. Think about it, Apple has a new product, the iPad, and with many other tablets trying to catch it, it is much more likely that this summer at the Apple Conference we will see an iPad 2 and a new software upgrade, iOS 4.5. Think about it the iPhone 4 has been the most successful iPhone to date and now they are introducing it to 93 million more people! I think they can survive a year without releasing a new iPhone. Also Apple mentioned that this iPhone didn't have 4G because of "current chip technology", do you really think they will have that all sorted out and ready to go in just 6 months?! No way! Apple cares too much about battery life, and their whole problem with 4G is that right now it uses too much battery life, so expect them to take another year to fix all that and test it out, remember AT&T doesn't even have a 4G network yet. The most you could expect is a price cut on the iPhone 4. However if by some miracle they do release a new iPhone this year it will not be what everybody is thinking, it will be like what the 3GS was to the 3G. It won't really add anything new at all, and your iPhone 4 will still be able to do everything that it can do. So don't be afraid, go buy the iPhone 4 February 10th, and 20 months later (October 2012) you can upgrade to the iPhone 4G, only 3 months after it will have come out.
Also I have been seeing threads of people saying that Verizon will get new iPhones in February and AT&T will get them during the summer before Verizon, this is also completely false, the only reason the iPhone is coming out right now is because Apple and Verizon wanted to make the iPhone available to it's customers as soon as possible, right when Apple's contract with AT&T was up. So this is just a special thing, after this new iPhone's will be released on both AT&T and Verizon at the same time during the summer.

Granted removing the home button from the iPhone is a bit of a stretch but you never know with Apple. The versioning in the iOS is -1 of version of the actual hardware, iPhone 3,x (code) = iPhone 4 (hardware). iPhone 4,x (code) = iPhone 5 (hardware). If read in the engadget article it states, "two new-generation iPhones (4,1 and 4,2) and three iPads (2,1; 2,2; and 2,3)." That mean iPhone 5 and iPad 2 is coming to AT&T and Verizon
It's very plausible that it could be something like a 4GS but when Apple increments the version number by a whole number in the code it normally means a new hardware devices not an updated one.
I'm just scratching my head on why Verzion would announce the iPhone availability when the release of a new iPhone is going to happen in the matter of a few months. Why not just wait till July and announce the availability? Is it just greed or stupidity on Verizon/Apple part?
If the version of the iOS is -1 of the actual hardware, then why is the iPad 2: 2,1; 2,2; 2,3? Also, even if Apple is going to release a new iPhone in a matter of months, the reason they are releasing an iPhone 4 right now is because they wanted to start selling an iPhone on Verizon as soon as the AT&T contract was up. Why wait 6 months to make money when you can do it right now? This is also why Apple made sure that the contract they signed with Verizon was not exclusive, that way they could start selling to T-Mobile and Sprint whenever they wanted, they didn't want to make the same mistake they made with AT&T.
