Worrisome email supposedly from Adobe

I'm worried this might be phishing.
I keep getting emails supposedly from Adobe . . .

I have a paid copy of:
          Adobe Creative Suite 6
          Design & Web Premium
Why is it telling me to sign in to my trial copy?

I own and use CS6 on my Mac.
I received an email referring to my trial copy.
I don't have or use a trial copy, nor do I want one.
My questions are:
1) Was this email from Adobe?
2) If so, why?
What more do you need to understand my question?

    Do a backup.
Take notes of all account information or take screen shots. You may need to set the accounts up again. Quit Mail.
    Copy the line below.
    ~/Library/Mail/V2
Select Go/Go To Folder from the Finder menu bar. Paste the line into the window. You won't see it.
That should show you the accounts. Select the appropriate inbox and dig around in the folders until you find the e-mail matching the number. Try to delete/move to the trash. If successful, launch Mail and test.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library Directory in Mac OS X 10.7 Lion & 10.8 Mountain Lion
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after every update. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

I know this has been solved as you reported, but I think you need to check with your e-mail provider. Did you also get this same e-mail on your computer? If you use the same ID for e-mail on computer and ipad, it should have appeared on both. It's very common spam. Check your computer to see if on it, the e-mail is in spam, or, if you deleted it on your ipad, check your recently deleted e-mails.
You might want to consider changing your password, though people sending spam, don't need it. My e-mail provider had me change my password, not because I was getting spam, but unknown to me, I was sending it!  (You'll still get some spam, though.) It's when you learn that you're unknowingly sending spam...that you must change your password.
    Hope this helps.
(Ss I was sending this, I just got an e-mail notification from the Nigerian... it got to my e-mail instead of going to spam.)

  • I received 2 emails supposingly from Apple requesting that I update my profile.  Could someone confirm this is a scam?  Thanks.

I received 2 emails supposingly from Apple asking me to update my profile because my account is blocked.
Evidently, this is a scam.  Did others receive the same request?

It's absoutely a scam, one which has been reported here a number of times. Do not respond to the email in anyway, just delete it.

  • Received an email supposedly from Apple that my Apple ID was used in Russia to buy music. Is this real?

I received an email supposedly from Apple from "Notice" that my Apple ID was used in Russia to buy music. Is this real? There was a link to click labeled AppleID. I didn't click it, but the message said I needed to change my Apple ID immediately.

What does the email look like - emails from Apple tend to be personalised (not 'dear customer' or 'hello') and the have proper English in them (if you hover your mouse pointer over the link do you see what URK it would take you to ? ; it might show at the bottom of the screen).
It's likely to be a phishing attempt to try and get your account and payment details - you could forward it to Apple : [email protected]
Just to be sure check your account's purchase history : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store

  • Where is the email address from Adobe Systems Inc changed?

How can the email address to which Adobe emails are being sent be changed.  The most recent was sent on August 1 titled: "August 2013: Digital imaging news and events" from "Adobe Systems Incorporated".  There is an unsubscribe link but no "change address" link.  The number to call for help was called but they were unable to help.
I have two accounts.  The gmail is old and is receiving emails; it has one license associated with it.  The yahoo has all the other licenses but receivs no emails.  Before having the license transferred the email issue needs to be straightened out.
Both accounts have preferences as follows.
    preferred contact: Email
    receive communications: No
Subscribe to adobe inspire:  gmail no: yahoo: yes
    Any suggestions?
PS.  I did not find a better forum for this issue as it is not product related.

You are much more likely to get quicker help, out in the Forum Comments Forum, rather than in the Lounge, that sees very little traffic nowadays.
I will Move your post to that forum, and your e-mail subscriptions (ah, the irony of that), and your links will follow.

  • Unable to email PDFs from Adobe reader. Can't get the as is or flattened option

HHow do I email my PDFs from Adobe reader for the ipad? Can't find 'as is' or 'flattened options

To email the currently opened PDF document from Adobe Reader for iOS
Tap anywhere in the PDF document to display the top toolbar.
Select the Share icon (the second icon from the right) to display the following menu.
    Select E-mail Document.
Select "Share Original Document" or "Share Flattened Copy" from the E-mail Document dialog.
Enter email recipient(s) in the To field.
Tap Send in the upper right corner to send the PDF document as an email attachment.
At Step 4, Reader may not display the E-mail Document dialog if the currently opened PDF document has some restrictions (e.g. no permission for editing, adding comments, and/or filling out form fields).  The original PDF document will be attached to an email automatically.
To check if your PDF document has restrictions (that are specified by the author of the document), tap anywhere in the document to display the bottom toolbar.  If the bottom toolbar shows the lock icon, your PDF document has restrictions.
When you tap the lock icon, the following popup will be displayed.
If the lock icon is not visible in the bottom toolbar or the bottom toolbar is not visible, it means that your PDF document has no restrictions.
Please let us know if you need further assistance.

  • Co-author needs to reset email - no email sent from adobe

Hello, I have invited another email, which is a 2nd email address of mine for a group associated with a soccer team, to be a coauthor on my adobe forms, but can't remember the adobe sign in password. When I ask it to send the reset link, I do not receive any emails from Adobe. I want to add the other email address so the submission email sent to the enduser is sent from the soccer team email account.

Are you sure you created a FormsCentral account for that other email address? You can test this by trying to create a new free FormsCentral account with this email address. The Sign-Up process will tell you if this email address already exists.
If it does exist then you might want to check your SPAM folder to makes sure the reset password email has not been filtered out of your inbox.
If you still have issues please send your email addresses to [email protected] with a description of your issue (or a reference to this forum thread) so that we can investigate on our side.

  • What is the likely source of a recent flurry of bogus emails supposedly from trusted correspondents, with no subject, no message and only a link (which I never click)?

I don't know that this is the community I should be addressing, but I can't find any dedicated to Apple's Mail appllication that came with my iMac or OS.
I've always been fortunate (as I'm told all Apple product users are) to have little trouble with phony messages or invasive viruses, etc.  Lately, however, I have been getting numerous (a couple a day or so) bogus emails suppossedly from my brother or niece or a friend.  They frequently have no subject line and often give return email addresses that make no sense and bear no resemblance to the actual addresses of the supposed senders.  What is goin on?  Is my computer infected? How do I find out? How do I go about correcting the problem?

Your computer is not infected, and it's not anything you have done nor anything you can do about it. Someone else's computer or email account has been hacked and harvested to send out spam messages. My guess is someone's computer with a link to Facebook has been hacked, since the messages like this I've received have all been people on Facebook.
All you can do is delete the messages, and if you have a spam filter looks at the email addresses in your address book, whitelist the actual addresses you wish to allow through and then start marking these bogus messages as spam.
    Regards.

  • How to get rid of emails coming from 'Adobe Hackers'?

    Hello there,
I am receiving more than 100 emails every day from community forum. Probably  that started after hacking my email from Adobe. Could anyone inform me how I could stop receiving these annoying emails ?

You can turn off the preference for receiving forum emails by clicking on your profile name, then choosing 'Edit preferences' from the top right, then click 'Email Notification Preferences', and change some of the options there.
Typically you only get emails for threads you've commented on, so I'm not sure why you're getting everything...

  • Increase in phishing emails supposedly from BT

In the past few months I've noticed that I am getting more & more phishing emails pretending to be from BT.
They are all going to an email account that I don't use anymore (but what I used to set up my internet with originally) but have forwarded to my current email address
So there were a lot of BT Yahoo classic is closing ones, update your email, even had ones pretending that my bill was ready
I reported one with the ebilling on it and BT kindly forced me to change my password as "my account has been compromised" (er no it hasn't).  So I'm reluctant to report any more.
I'm just not sure what to do about them.  I obviously don't want genuine bt emails to go to the trash.

There are many phishing emails from BT doing the rounds no doubt trying to catch people out because of the forthcoming migration from Yahoo to Critical Path.
If you hover your mouse over the senders email address it will show you where it came from and if you hover your mouse over any links you will see where the link will take you.
Basically BT will not ask you to confirm any passwords, usernames or account details or verify accounts via links in an email. If you want to verify or change any of those, do it by going to the BT website via your web browser and not by clicking on links in emails.
If in any doubt about an email, delete it.
See link for details about phishing emails.

Not everything that happens on a computer or BlackBerry, unknown to you, is a virus.
There is no known virus yet created that affects or infects BlackBerrys. They're just that secure.
    Your problem?
Reason : You have installed Desktop Manager using the 'Desktop Redirector' or 'Enterprise' option.
Step 1: If you're not using Redirector or Enterprise, you should uninstall Desktop Manager and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.
Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > Service Book, and delete all service books for [Desktop]
