Worse phone on the market

Nokia how can you sell a phone like this ? Its constantly crashing, youtube is useless ! I keep having problems where the sound stays at 1/30 even if you turn it up its still really quiet. The apps are shocking and the video is horrendous!!! It lets me watch about 3 mins of a video before freaking out and deciding if it wants to load or not ! Facebook sucks on this platform and the memory in this phone is appalling ! And lastly the radio mixes dont work ! Where ever i am if its on wifi or 3g it tells me that it cant connect right now so when can it ?!?!
how can you sell a phone like this ?! My old iphone 2g is better than this and its over 5 years old ! I want i a phone swap on my contact for a proper WORKING phone like an iphone! Along with a description about why this phone and software is in production.
thanks

Hi,
The situation is not as bad as you sound. I have some suggestions, maybe these can improve your experience.
1. Regarding the volume bug, even I haved faced this issue, even after the amber update. This seems to happen only in the Music app and nowhere else. A temporary solution is to restart the phone. I have also been trying to find a permanent solution for this but unsuccessful so far.
One pattern I haved observed is that if some app tries to use "background audio", after that this problem starts if we try to access music hub.
2. Regarding Youtube : This is actually a big issue. Google is not entirely supportive of Windows Phone platform and hence none of their apps is currently on Windows Phone (except search). However, some really amazing third party apps are present like MetroTube, Mytube. Do give these apps a try. I'm sure you will like them.
3. A much improved facebook app went live in the Store. This is developed by Microsoft, check it out.
Hope this helps!
Best Regards,
Ayushmaan

I have what I consider the best smart phone.  I recently upgraded my PC from Windows Vista to Windows 8 and my Itunes went away.  Did I do something wrong or aren't the two compatible?

If the update did not preserve all your Applications you may simply have to download iTunes again and instrall it on Windows 8.
There's nothing strange about an update not preserving installed Applications.

  • Why cant apple remove their java and adobe restictions if they did that it would be the best phone on the market!!!!!

why cant they make every site viewable.. if they would just get over themselves restricting the phones from certain sites.

Apple earns the overwhelming majority of their profit - far and away from the sale of their hardware - computers, iPods, iPads, and iPhones. Not from the sale of software and certainly not from iTunes store sales. The iTunes store is set up as a break even for Apple with this included with their financial reporting.
You are right about Apple not wanting to depend on a 3rd party for playing video via the internet, and anyone with a clue wouldn't want that either.
    http://daringfireball.net/2010/01/apple_adobe_flash
"To my knowledge, Apple controls the entire source code to the iPhone OS. That’s not to say they wrote the whole thing from scratch. Many low-level OS components are open source. But they have the source. If there’s a bug, they can fix it. If something is slow, they can optimize or re-write it. That is not true for Mac OS X, and Flash is a prime example. The single leading source of application crashes on Mac OS X is a component that Apple can’t fix."
    That would be Flash.
"This is why Apple wants to control the source code to the entire OS. If they want to go 64-bit with iPhone OS, it’s entirely in Apple’s own control to do so. And what happens if Apple goes to a new CPU architecture? For the components Apple controls the source code to, they can recompile for the new architecture. If the entire system doesn’t recompile cleanly for the new architecture, they can work on it until it does. For a component like Flash, where Adobe controls the source code, Apple instead has to wait."
"Which situation do you think Apple is happier with? Mac OS X, where they had to create a new web content plugin architecture because Flash crashes frequently and isn’t 64-bit? Or iPhone OS, where they control the source code to every single component, and can do whatever they want, when they want?"
"Apple isn’t trying to replace Flash with its own proprietary thing. They’re replacing it with H.264 and HTML5. This is good for everyone but Adobe."
"And yes, I know Flash does much more than just play video. But that’s the main thing everyone is talking about when they talk about Flash not working on the iPhone — video. And when you talk about other uses for Flash, you’re talking about serving as a software runtime, and whether you like it or not, Apple has a clearly stated opposition to third-party software runtimes for iPhone OS, and that policy seems to be working out pretty well for them."

  • IPhone 4 is not the only phone on the market with Antenna issues

Distraught over the issue that your iPhone 4 loses reception when handled?
Wish you had gone with some other smartphone now? So the iPhone 4 got reception issues. Did you know that these other phones have reception issues also when held?

The degree of problems between the iPhone4 and those examples are orders of magnitude different. As said most cell phones will see some dip in reception based on directionality and how the phone is being held. However when within 2 days of launch 155 videos appear on Youtube displaying the exact same problem, many of them reproducing it by using a single finger to touch the 'hot spot' while the phone is otherwise untouched, that is far more than a small reception issue. When this also happens on the first phone to use a wrap around exposed metal antenna then you're right smack in the arena iof serious design flaw, not minor reception issue.
Could this huge negative publicity be because nobody really cares about other phones with similar problems while Apple sells 1.7 million copies in few days?
Also one man's serious design flaw is another man's minor nuisance.
Here's another juicy bit that you can google yourself. Nokia decided to poke fun at Apple's expense and bragged on its corporate blog that you can hold latest greatest Nokia however you like. They almost immediately had to eat crow when it was pointed to Nokia's own User Manual that gives advise on how to hold the phone in order not to have reception problems.

I have tried force quit- home screen and top button. iTunes is not recognizing phone when I plug into computer.  help pls

FIRST charge with an Apple charger for at least 15 minutes. Then hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears. Hold for up to 30 seconds. If nothing happens the phone hardware has failed.

  • Power banks on the market

There are a lot of power banks on the market now. The banks hold between 600mAh to 2500mAh.
But how much power does it take to chage an iPhone4s.
I'd like to know if thats one charge, two charges, or worse 1/2 a charge
Specs say nothing and an article on Apple site "Everything you ned to know about charging" was somewhat an exageration ;-).

A stock iPhone 4S battery holds 1430mAh of charge. Considering this, you should probably be looking at a 1500mAh+ battery to compensate for some power drain.
Here's a list of the best battery cases for your phone, according to PC Mag.

  • Does Verizon ever provide a different model phone if the customer has basically had the same issues with 3 prior 'replacemet' (refurbished) phones?

I have owned a Samsung Galaxy Stellar for the about the past year and a half, which is only my second smartphone. I am not a whiz at all this but I'll try to be coherent. I had problems with the Stellar  from the beginning: Very slow loading browser, problems with the cursor, etc. After about 6 months, the phone dropped, and no, I didn't throw it on the ground!
I have insurance and it was still under warranty, so it was replaced, by Assurian, I believe. The replacement phone had the same problems, plus a whole lot more. During calls, the wifi, and/or Bluetooth options would appear, or the phone would suddenly go on mute. In addition, when I tried to access my voicemail, what I heard was my own voice and outgoing message, not the one from Verizon asking for the password. These problems were intermittent, which made the Verizon employees  dubious, but it's like the car that you take to the garage that suddenly works fine. Anyway, there were some other problems too, so I got a replacement phone again, which is the phone I currently have had for about 3 months. A few days ago it went from bad to worse. In fact it went Crazy!: Every call I make or receive is immediately dropped. Maybe after 5 or 6 tries, I can  complete a call, but rarely. When I do, the mute and speaker options spontaneously activate, at the same time!!  When I go into my voicemail, the messages are deleted in rapid fashion, one after the other, and I cannot get them back.   Or, as I said earlier, the Wifi/Bluetooth screens appear, and it's difficult to punch in any numbers as I have to hit the back arrow many times. Strangely, the phone makes odd sounds: It buzzes or makes this odd chiming sound! If I didn't know better, I would think that I have finally lost my mind! I could go on but you have the gist.  The phone is simply not workable. I  phoned tech support, and she was very nice. After an hour on the phone, it worked ok, until the following day. She didn't do a factory reset, but she had me take the sim card and battery out. She did things on her end, which unfortunately I don't recall, but the phone worked ok until the following day, when it went crazy again.
I took it to the corporate Verizon store where I live, The guy said "It's a lousy phone, a cheap, bottom of the line phone." By the way, throughout this time, I had had about 6 hours with tech support, between this phone and the last one.
THIS IS MY QUESTION: I asked him if I could have a totally different phone, since this model is clearly defective. He said no, but they could send me another replacement. He told me to call trech support  while I was there in the store and ask them, because they don't do repairs at the store. The tech on the phone  told me the issue is with my Gmail account! That there is a virus on some phones and each time I get a replacement phone, because I have kept the same Gmail account, the virus keeps getting 'transferred', for lack of a better word, to the next phone. I was totally incredulous. Virus? She said, "Well, I use the  term loosely, but it's just a weird glitch. When you get a replacement phone, bring it back and we'll save and upload all your data, and set  you up with a new email account." I was confused and annoyed, as I had never heard of this, and felt I was getting the runaround. I asked her if they could give me a different phone (free of charge) and of course the answer was no. By the way, I should mention that the Stellar is no longer made. These are my options, according to the 3 different Verizon employees I spoke with: I am eliblele for the early upgrade which they call the Edge. From what I understand, it's the full retail price paid out over 2 years, with a partial payment made at time of purchase. One person told me that after 24 months, they would accept what I paid as payment in full? Sounds too generous. Option 2 is $50 of a new phone, and option 3 is to buy a new phone at a Verizon store that is having an android sale. So, I acquiesced to getting another replacement which I will keep until I buy a new totally different phone. My impression is that it's not like buying a bad toaster. They don't refund your money and let you get whatever you want for the same price! My question is this: Does Verizon ever just replace a phone that has had problems, with a totally different model? I have made as much of a stink as I can muster towards that end, but I am wondering if anyone out there has actually been able to pull that off?
Thank you for any feedback ,comments or stories!

amysue, We defintely want you to have a reliable and working phone. Our apologies that you have had issues with the current model, the Galaxy Stellar. After reviewing information about the overall function of the phone, it does not appear that Samsung has recalled the device or stated that all Stellar devices are defective, with that being said, the warranty would still only cover the same make and model. The only time a completely different phone is sent out is if the manufacturer deems the entire make and model overall faulty. It is common to have a few glitches and a master/factory reset, in addition to all other troubleshooting, will help resolve these issues. The Stellar is no longer made because there have been several Samsung galalxy devices launched, and this is common with any device manufacturer. Our recommendation is to take advantage of EDGE, if you are seeking a new device with low monthly payments. This gives you the chance to explore different device options without having a contract and you can EDGE up to a new device once meeting certain requirements. We hope to resolve your concerns here or by calling customer support.

  • How would I be able to pull up all of the text messages tat were in my phone over the course of 2 years and back them up to my computer since my phone has a broken screen and can no longer read the mesages.

How would I be able to pull up all of the text messages tat were in my phone over the course of 2 years and back them up to my computer since my phone has a broken screen and can no longer read the mesages.

If the messages are stored on the device and you can power the device up you can use the application posted at https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/770529  , the application has a screen capture option and you can use the screen as a guide to install MyBackup from Market or a number of backup apps from Market and then you can run the applications and backup data to your SD Card to restore to the replacement device.

  • WWYD: Battery is better today, but I received a new phone in the mail already...

I'm a first-time iPhone user (own other Apple products though). I ordered a 4S on pre-order day, received it on release day (via mail). Immediately I noticed that the battery life seemed poor, and I had other problems as well (when calling another phone on my account, the caller could never hear me). I know of 3 others with a 4S who have had NO problems whatsoever, great battery life from the get-go with very heavy usage. I was advised by one of them to do a restore. It took two restores to get the call problem cleared up, but the battery life was getting worse and worse.  I read the forums and followed every bit of advice and did almost nothing but make a few phone calls. I let the battery run down completely at least 3 times, probably more. It was essentially a phone, nothing more, and the battery would not make it through a day of light use. I reset everything to a new phone at one point, still no change. I called Apple support who advised me to return it to Verizon since I had a 14-day return window.
The new phone arrived a couple of days ago. I didn't have time to set it up right away, so I was planning to yesterday. But suddenly, the battery doesn't seem to be draining as before. I've cautiously started using it more and adding apps and using things like email. When I do some calculations, it still doesn't seem that it is living up to Apple's specs, but a huge improvement over before.  (*The one thing I noticed that changed after a charge (not from 0), was that my Usage & Stand by times are no longer identical; they now seem mostly accurate. Why would this suddenly change?)
My question is, do I return the new phone and stick with the original, or do I open the new one and hope that it works fine out of the box? My concern is that even though the original phone seems to be doing better now, (1) I've read about others here who thought their issue was resolved and then the problems started up again and (2) with all of the issues I had up front, perhaps there is something flawed with this specific phone, and I'll be looking at other issues down the road.
I don't want to end up with a worse phone than I have now, but since I know others who had zero problems from the start, I know it's possible, and I guess I'd feel more confident going forward if my phone didn't need so much work to get it in working order.
Thanks for reading, I didn't mean for this to be so long...
ETA: I am aware of the announcement that Apple is going to release an update for battery issues.

You aren't serious are you? Send it back. It is not yours, you do not own it, therefore selling it would constitute selling stolen goods. You would be committing a crime, and you would be screwing whomever you sold it to.

  • I've lost the Market and can't get it back

I connected my phone to a new router and when I went to go to the Market, it was empty.  I've tried downloading it, but then I found it in my phone and I can't it  activated.  I tried taking the battery out, but that didn't work either.  Any suggestions?   Thanks.

Under settings > apps > manage applications > All can you find Google Play Store and try clearing cache and clearing data doing a 'Force stop'.  If that doesn't work you can try to Uninstall updates.

Will the SPA932 be supported with the SPA525G phone on the UC520 in SCCP mode?
The command for configuring the SPA525G with a SPA932 would be similar to the following when such feature is supported:
    ephone 1
    device-security-mode none

    mac-address 0021.A000.D001
    username jdoe password "jdoe"
    type 525G addon 1 932
    keep-conference

I do know that the following addon module combinations are supported on the UC520:
    796x / 7914
    797x / 7914
    7962 / 7915
    7965 / 7915

  • Is  there any news  to  have  Iphone 6 in the  market ?

Is  there any news  to  have  Iphone 6 in the  market ?

You'll just have to make your best guess. Whether Apple will stick to pattern is unknown, though it would seem likely that they'd release new iPhone hardware at the same time that they release the new version of iOS. That may not occur that way, though. If you don't need a new phone now, you can wait and see what happens, but you may be waiting some months.
    Regards.

I dropped my phone down the toilet and before I switched it off I sent a text. I have left it to dry out for the last 48hiurs. Is there any hope for my iPhone 5c?

Probably not. First of all, 48 hours is not enough. 5-7 days is better. Secondly, if you did not turn it off the very instant you retrieved it, it probably did worse damage. Even if it powers on, it's very unlikely it will function 100%.
