Worth installing compared to 10.1.3?

Hi there,
We've installed ZCM 10.1.3 and the ZCM database on a separate SLES box. We've upgraded the single Primary server to 10.2. Is it worth scrapping the "old" database server and installing 10.2 Reporting Server? We haven't done much configuration or custom reports.
Are we missing out?
Cheers,
Kirk

I just bought a 2013 late model Mac Book Pro Retina and am wondering if it is worth installing windows through boot camp.
If I install the windows component in order to run an exe file and its component "Declans Korean Flash Cards"... will it make my mac suseptible to viruses overall due to having a windows component? also will it make my mac slower as well

If you are only going to use one or two window only programs then I wouldn't waste the space.  Try WinonX it allows you to install exe. Files on Mac without installing windows.

  • Is it worth installing anti malware software on my mac?

Is it worth installing anti malware software on my Mac?

The best defense against malware is common sense.
If you didn't ask for something, don't accept it.
If browsing web and told to update something, never click yes.  Always
go to the vendor site for the item in question and verify that there is indeed an update.
Only download apps directly from a vendor site or from the MacApp Store.
Never, ever click links in emails unless it is a verification type from a site that you are
expecting to receive one from.  Always go directly to a site in question.  Phishers
can be very sophisticated in creating "official" looking emails and even very "official"
looking webpages that those links lead you to in hopes of extorting important personal
    information.

  • Worth installing new logic board?

I've just been to see a Mac Genius because of problems booting my PB (see previous post), and through a process of elimination she said it must be a logic board component problem that's preventing the power from routing properly.
Is it worth the cost of installing a new board? I have a friend who could probably do the labor for his 'friends and family' rate, so it's really just the cost of the board itself--but I have no idea how much they run.
This is a back-up laptop (we have another MacBook Pro at home), but despite its age it functions well for what I need it for, which is mostly word docs and email. It's got a fairly new hard-drive installed about 18 months ago, and a one-year old power adapter cord which is in great shape.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

If the clock battery hasn't been replaced in the last 4 years, that's the first place I'd look. Next I'd look at the internal power supply to find out if the wiring got loose. If neither appears to be at issue, find out for your model what it costs to replace the logic board. These places may be able to help you for less than Apple:

  • Worth installing Windows 7 before selling MBP?

I'm planning to sell my MacBook Pro 13 (mid-2010) on eBay UK.  I can install Windows 7 Professional alongside OS X for about £25, but is that likely to be financially worthwhile?  Is a dual boot machine likely to be more in demand?  Or should I just do a clean install of Snow Leopard from the original disk and forget about Windows?

Thanks.  I've read that page, and also How to prepare your Mac for sale, by Thomas Reed.  It seems a pity that recent versions of OS X are tied to your Apple ID in that way.  I'd rather be able to offer a clean install of Yosemite (as some people on eBay do!), but yes, I will do a clean install of Snow Leopard instead.

  • Worth installing Lion on older MacBook?

Asking this question before installing Lion on my mom's MacBook. Since her trackpad is pre multiple touch, will any of those features even work? Will installing Lion just slow down or complicate her " works fine now" MacBook?

I have to agree, unless mum is needing, or wanting to upgrade leave the Macbook where it is, maybe mum would appreciate a nice lunch on you

  • Is iOS 7.0.4 worth installing on iPad Mini WiFi (1st Gen)?

I've heard mixed responses with some people saying it works great and others saying that their batteries were nuked following the update. Has any of the issues been fixed from the initial version? Is it worth taking the plunge or should I wait? I mainly read books on the Kindle app and watch movies. The main reason I bought the iPad Mini in the first place was for the battery life so would appreciate the input. Thanks.

Okay thanks guys, I think I'll go ahead and do it then. Strange so many have reported problems, maybe they messed something up

  • Is the 8gb worth it compared to the 4gb?  Is there a noticeable difference between a i5 and i7 core processor?

I am looking to buy a 13 inch mac book pro.  I know that there is a 4gb version with a i5 core processor and also a 8gb with a i7 core processor.  I am wondering if buying the upgraded one is worth the money.  I play World of Warcraft so I am also wondering if the upgraded one will play the game better.  Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The 13-inch MacBook Pro won't work correctly with the game. Go for a 15-inch MacBook Pro or an iMac. That's caused because of the GPU. The 13-inch MacBook Pro has only got an integrated GPU that isn't designed for games.
Apart from that, if you are decided to buy the 13-inch MacBook Pro, get it with 4 GB of RAM. You can upgrade it to 8 GB yourself and you will save money without voiding your warranty. Also, for games, you will note the difference with an Intel Core i7, even if the Intel Core i7 that has got the 13-inch MacBook Pro isn't the best i7

  • Apps storage space shows 8.3 G went there is really only 2.5 G worth installed

I discovered this morning that my avalible space had gone from 11.2 GB's available to 5.3 GB's without me doing anything. I looked at this in itunes and it is definately in the Apps storage area and not the "other" storage area. Also, I am not sure if this is related but when going to bed last night I had 75% battery only to wake 6 hours later to a comletely drained battery. I had to plug in the charger to get the phone to start. Never seen that before but it seems to be behaving today ??? any help would be appreciated on getting back my lost 6 GB's
    Scott,

I Understand what you are saying, but can't understand how an App could grow to consume 6 GB's overnight. I would think any data that is created by an app ie: video, documents, would be stored in the "other" area and not the "apps" area??? I have no music or videos and only have about 150 photos which were there prior to losing the 6 G. Just cant figure it out, but thanks for responding, I may just have to restore  to try and gain it back.
Thanks again, and any other ideas before I do this would be welcome and appreciated.

  • Is it worth installing ios7 on my 8gb iphone4.

Currently using ios5 because I fear if I upgrade it will take up the precious free space I have left for music.

Will I have room left if I do upgrade?

  • What is the latest version of iTunes and is it worth installing?

I currently have 7.5 (19) but have read references to a ver. 20 on other postings. If I try to update, I am told that my version is up to date. I ask because I am having problems with updating my iPods to 1.2.3 - I get error message 1417 when I try to update and error message 1418 when I try to restore the Pod). Perhaps I should leave well alone as the iPod seems to be working fine as does iTunes?

  • Is mac keeper worth installing ?

I keep getting offers of mac keeper which looks good but I am wary of offers with no indication of costs involved.has anyone used this software and is it expensive. I have just transferred to a MacBook from years of windows so am bit apprehensive at present.

Good or bad, MacKeeper is not needed.
These kinds of unnecessary apps may slow down the computer.
    Best.
