Worthy note for content copier users--

I always thought content copier was backing up my message folders which contanined important messages on my phone.
I now think it does not. You have to move the messages form your folders in messaging app to the inbox then do a back up.
I presumed it was backing up and restoring as tey were still there after I updated my firmware and restored but actually it is probably because they are stored on my memory card and the remained during the update anyway.
So if I had to format the mass memory all my messages would have gone and Id have no back up of them.
Is this right?
Cant nokia change it so that content copier backs up message folders as well?
I.e it backs up the entire messaging program and all sub folders??
It also appears not to be backing up messages that have been bluetoothed to me.

Dissapointing reply from Nokia Careline when I reported the Content Copier problem. Evidently there are some issues with the latest PC Suite. Here is the reply:

What is a "Not For Resale" copy of FCS

Thanks for the replies. I will let my friend know. I knew that it wouldn't be upgradeable but didn't know that it wasn't even legit.
One last quick question; I have FCS2 which I had upgraded from the original FCS. Does the upgrade pricing work for all subsequent upgrades or will I have to purchase the full FCS3 to upgrade again?
I had assumed that I could get the upgrade price but never really worried about it since I am still on a G5. The G5 has been a great computer but newer software is starting to be Intel only and I am thinking hard about getting a new Mac Pro.

Dunning form F150- Telefon/fax/mail printing for 1 user and not for other

This is regarding the printing of the dunning form using F150.
At first, using company code and account clerk (BUSAB), we retrieve the user id. The program uses FM BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL to get the address details of this user id. The user name, telephone and fax adn email are printed in the dunning form (1st reminder, 2nd reminder and so on). The problem here is , the address details are printed on the form for one user and not for the other user who is processing. Any idea regarding this. Do I need to give any user setting parameter in SU01 or is there any authoriztaion issue which is blocking this. Awaiting reply,

I'm having the same problem with Exchange 2003, I can get it to work with Entourage and on my iPhone, but it keeps rejecting my password on Mail.app. If I keep entering the password it starts to update with server, but it won't save the password. IMAP is on for my account which is how it works on iPhone.
I'm starting to think it has something to do with Keychain Access or Mail.app and not so much Exchange Server. If anyone has found a solution please let me know,

Dump ASSIGN_TYPE_ILLEGAL_CAST in SAPLSDSD for 1 user, not for others

In a Unicode ECC 6.0 system (SAP_BASIS = SAPKB70013 and SAP_APPL = SAPKH60011) a user clicks the search help for a customer number field (Data Element = KUNNR) and the search help screen pops up. This search help popup opens on the Customers (general) tab.
Now without making any change in any field on this tab, the user clicks any other tabname and this results in a dump: ASSIGN_TYPE_ILLEGAL_CAST in ABAP program SAPLSD.
An other user and myself have tried to replicate this in the same system. We do not get the dump.
When I logon with the userid of the first user and debug, I can click whatever tab I want and it does not dump. As soon as I disable all breakpoints and press F8 (continue) I get the dump.
Anyone has a good hint?

This dump appears in program SAPLSDSD in include LSDSDF11 in routine PERSONAL_VALUES_CONVERT.
The dump indicates that the problematic statement is this:
ASSIGN align2-c(s_descr-intlen) TO <tmps> TYPE s_descr-inttype.
The field ALIGN2-C is defined as 255 type X
The field S_DESCR-INTLEN has the value 25.
The field S_DESCR-INTTYPE has the value 'C'.
So the program tries to assign 25 bytes of a hex field into a character type field symbol. In non-unicode this works, but is not accepted in unicode. This I can understand.
But why does it go to this routine for one user and not for 2 other users?
And why does it not go to this routine when the first user is running in debugging?

How to check a text type if it is filled or not for specific user status

I want to check if a text type in a notification is filled or not for a specific user status. I guess that can be done using the BADI "ORDER_SAVE", but not sure how to do that.

Hello Erkan.
You can use the function module CRM_ORDER_READ_OW in method check_before_save of BADI ORDER_SAVE.
Fill the header_guid of the notification into the it_header_guid table parameter and get the returning table ET_TEXT.
For performance reason you should provide importing parameter it_requested_objects.
INCLUDE CRM_DIRECT.
APPEND gc_object_name-texts TO it_required_objects.
Then you can check in et_Text if the required text is maintained. If not, you can raise the exception DO_NOT_SAVE in the BADI.

Activating TimeMachine Server for Active Directory Users

Currently we'd like to switch to Active Directory and I tried it out with our Test environment, setuped an Active Directory Server and joined a OSX Mavericks Server. So far so good I can manage all my AD users, but when I click on "Edit Access to Services" I can activate anything for my AD user BUT not Time Machine!
Does anyone knows why and if there is any workaround to make it work? For other Network (Open Directory) and Local Users I can activate it.

sorry.. I am soooooo stupid... I have to activate "File Sharing" as well.. for the user everything was already pre-activated, not for the AD users, I just saw the Time Machine checkbox grayed out ...

[Solved] nm-applet does not display in normal user's panel

I installed Arch Linux yesterday. Today, I am trying to get some of the refinements working. I installed OpenBox as a standalone window manager. I got several things working exactly the way I wanted as root, such as networkmanager, nm-applet, and pypanel. When I startx as root, the nm-applet is properly displayed in the pypanel.
Then I discovered that I could not run an X application as the normal user without first running "xhost +" as root. At this point, it dawned on me that I am not supposed to run startx as root, but as the normal user. Duh!
So, I thought I set up everything the same way for the normal user. When I startx as the normal user, OpenBox runs, nm-applet runs, and pypanel runs, but pypanel does not display the nm-applet icon. I can now run my X application as the normal user, so that is good.
My .config/openbox/autostart file is exactly the same for root and my normal user:

(sleep 3 && /usr/bin/nm-applet --sm-disable) &
nm-applet was started by this code, because ps -ef shows it running and owned by the normal user:

I have now switched to tint2 from pypanel, anyway. It is much cleaner and easier to use. At least in my opinion.

Setting disk quota on Mac server for Active Directory users

I'm having trouble setting disk quotas for Active Directory users with home folders on our Mac server.
I've enabled disk quotas on the disk I'm putting home folders on, and I can set disk quotas for local users on the server just fine. But it doesn't seem to work for Active Directory users. I've tried setting disk quotas via Workgroup Manager and via the command line using edquota. But when I use the repquota command there is no quota entry for the AD user. I've run quotacheck and that didn't help either.
I also understand there's a setquota command but there's no man page on how that works.
Has anyone got disk quota for AD users working.
Better still has someone got a shell or perl script for setting quotas they could post.

Copied User Object remove Mailbox ID

Hi,
Not sure if this should be posted under groupwise? I created an new user account (from IManager)and copied from an exisiting object as the new user has the same job function. From Console 1 When I try to edit the new user they have the copied users groupwise account. Is there a way I can reove not dlete the copied user from the new user as it is grayed out and won't allow me to remove it

If memory serves right, just open console one, in the GroupWise view select the new user, right-click on it and some where under GroupWise utilities there is an eDir association option - just disassociate this account from the GroupWise account. You can then add the new user as a new GroupWise user.

Setting 'Content Copying' as 'Not Allowed' for offline PDF

Can anyone help on the following scenario?
Generate a PDF that does not allow user to copy contents within the PDF.
Setting the Document Restriction - 'Content Copying' as 'Not Allowed'
As this PDF is to be open offline, there will be no direct connection to the livecycle server hence not able to connect to the Rights Management Server to verify the policy.
How can this be achive?

You are correct in your understanding. Just to clarify one point though, the client machine does require the "Principal" key be downloaded from the RM server and "Synchronize for offline" is one way to get the key. In addition to this, when a user "authenticates" to the RM server to open a policy protected document, a "synchronization" occurs in the background and if there are "new" principal keys for other policies they will be downloaded even if they are not reklated to the document the user is currently accessing.
Now, in addition to Rights Management, Adobe has two other "encryption" options.
You could password protect the document to prevent "content copying", but this is not a very secure option, password protection is easily cracked, there is no user authentication, and third party PDF viewers may not respect\enforce the password protection.
Another option, which is very secure is to use the "Encrypt with certificates" option, where the PDF is encrypted for a user based on the users x509 certificate (public key). The user then uses their corresponding private key to authenticate themselves and view the document. Encrypt with certificates allows you to enforce authentication and you can allow\deny the same "permissions" that you can with RM protection. There is no requirement for a server, but the "certificate management" (certificate creation\provisioning\revocation) capability requires a PKI. Also, the user will need to have their private key available to open the document.

ESS Busness Package Content Not Accessible For Delta Copy Role

We are implementing EP 6.0 connected to an ECC 5.0 backend System. We have imported ESS Business Package 60.2 into the portal. If I assign the ESS role "out of the box" (PCD folder structure: CONTENT PROVIDED BY SAP => END USER CONTENT => com.sap.pct.ess.employee => com.sap.pct.ess.roles => Employee Self-Service) to the Everyone Group, the content displays correctly. I had to set the Web Dynpro System Permissions for the End User to get this to work (Everyone Group => Administrator None, End-User Enabled) but did NOT have to set any Permissions on the role or its parent folders. I made a delta copy of the ESS User Role and placed it in a customization folder in the PCD and then deleted some of the worksets from the delta copy. The remaining worksets, roles, iviews, etc in the delta copy role are located in the PCD in folder structure: CONTENT PROVIDED BY SAP => END USER CONTENT => com.sap.pct.ess.employee. The Web Dynpro System Permissions for the End User are set(Everyone Group => Administrator None, End-User Enabled). The ESS navigation tabs are visible as well as the Overview page but none of the area group pages or services will display. I have tried setting End-User permissions on the PCD folder that contains the delta copy role but it still will not work. Any ideas?

PC Suite Content Copier will not complete

This is an ongoing issue, through several versions of PC Suite. Becasue I have not been able to resolve it for 5 months, I'm requesting help.
Current version of PC Suite: 6.85.14.1
Phone: N75-3
PC Operating System: Windows XP Home
Phone firmware: 20.1.172
This is my second N75-3 phone, this app never worked on the first one either.
Backups run on the phone and saved to the memory card have always worked, on both phones.
Repaired PC Suite today, right before running backup and also reinstalled MMS SYNC at that time. Ran a couple of other PC Suite functions today to confirm that PC Suite was working properly. No problems indicated.
I don't remember how many times I have reinstalled or repaired PC Suite during the 5 month period, because I lost count. 20 times might be a low estimate.
What I've tried: tried running Content Copier with different data categories selected. Usually select all categories for data on phone memory. Each time I've done this everything completes except when it gets to phone model-specific backup. Then the app stalls until I manually stop it. Of course by doing that, the app fails, so I don't have a backup.
Today I tried selecting a minimal amount of data to be backed up. Just user files from the phone memory and phone model-specific backup. It took about 20 seconds to complete the user files, and then took another 10 minutes to go from 10% complete to 99% complete. It's been sitting at 99% for 45 minutes. I suspect that this one won't complete either. Since I do have the phone connected on USB and the power charger today, I thought I'd let Content Copier take as much time as it needs without disturbing it, but I've never seen any phone app for any make of phone take more than a couple of minutes. The app is still running. Task Manager on the PC does not indicate any problems or crashes.
Has anyone ever been able to get a backup from Content Copier, and did you do anything special to make it work?
Alternatively, does anyone know of a third party application that does the same thing as Content Copier? It might be worth trying. I'm mostly concerned with saving phone settings. I save most of my personal data on the memory card and that's easy to backup.
OK, I manually stopped the app after a full hour of running. It did not complete, was stuck at 99%. The backup report had nothing useful to say. Just said that the backup was unsuccessful because I stopped it.

After some more research and patient watching of how my PC was acting with PC Suite, I have come to the realization that my backup problems stem from the Nokia USB drivers. That's the part that appears to be buggy. I noticed that every time the software had trouble completing a task, the drivers were showing in Device Manager in the PC as something wrong, prompting to uninstall and resinstall. So nwo each time I need to use a PC Suite function I check there first. A pain, yes, but reinstalling those drivers is less than reinstalling all of PC Suite. I'm still stuck with rebooting the PC afterward, but it does take less time. I do have the updated PS Suite, 6.85, so I don't know why this keeps happening. I had seen a post that talked about removing a Microsoft driver for a Nokia portable device, which was posted by a moderator, I believe, but I also noticed that when I remove that, NSU doesn't see the phone. Plus after reinstalling that piece, I get some nice listings in My Computer for the phone, and drives, adn even the camera on the phone. So I guess I'm stuck for now reinstalling drivers every time I want to use PC Suite. Maybe I'll live long enough for Nokia to fix this. If anyone else wants to go after getting this fixed with Nokia, help yourself. I'm done.

I have signed in as me, have set the main preferences login user as me,and everywhere on the laptop I can use my apple ID except here. It always shows me a greyed out ID of my IT. How can I reset this to my ID? It doesn't give me an option to change the user ID, only a link to reset password. I reset it, but it did not change the problem. Can someone help me?

It's not an ID problem, it's an ownership problem.
When someone uses their personal Apple ID to buy and download content, the content is licensed to them and has their Apple ID engrained in it's DNA. It is an anti-piracy program. And when that personal Apple ID is used to setup a new Mac, it involves the Mac itself, the shipping OS and any pre-installed apps as well.
It's not the correct way to handle Macs that belong to a business or an institution. And had it been handled correctly they would not now be in this predictument needing a drastic remedy.

I do not have any experience with Final Cut, but if you have existing projects that you MUST access; then you are in need of a solution on your new iMac in Mountain Lion!
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta. Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion). While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
Workarounds:
1. Purchase a used Mac that will run Snow Leopard (with the optional Rosetta installed) and continue to run FCE on that Mac (you can actually use Screen Sharing with a "headless" used Snow Leopard Mac Mini and use the 27" screen from your iMac to view and work FCE in the Mac Mini environment);
2. Upgrade to an Intel compatible version of FCE and hope it converts your existing projects to its newer format correctly. There is much debate that the newer version of Final Cut are eliminating many needed features; for example Final Cut Pro X vs. Final Cut Pro 6 -- many users are staying with version 6;
3. Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels and then install FCE in the Snow Leopard environment:
