Would a leather magnetic flip case damage my Iphone?

would a leather magnetic flip case damage my Iphone???

Here's the leather magnetic case I use.

I've been using it with my Droid X from July 15th, 2010, (launch day) right up until the time I upgraded to my Razr Maxx HD on October 24th, 2012 with absolutely no ill effects on either phone.  The Droid X was carried daily for just shy of 2-1/2 years and my new Maxx HD for almost 3 weeks. I've been using the same holder everyday.   I think it's safe to say you should be good if you use a case with a magnetic latch even with an iPhone.
The only thing I had on my "X" was a screen protector but my Maxx HD has been naked since day one.
Go for it!!!!

  • Will the magnet on this case damage my iPhone 4s?

this is the case and you see where the magnet is.. will tha be safe for the phone??
    Caitlin :-)

There is no image or link, so no way of telling what case you are referring to. As long as the magnet is not coming into direct contact with the phone (i.e. covered with some sort of material), which could scratch it, you should be fine.

  • Got my new Krusell Leather Flip Case for my

I ordered the white leather Krusell flip case from www.pcs-ltd.com, which is located in Long Beach, California, which is not too far from me so FedEx Ground shipping only takes one day. I got pretty quick service (I ordered at the end of last week and got it today).
I really like the case. There is just a clear plastic insert to slide the ZMP (or Micro) into so there is no cutting off of the ZMP screen. I have to say though, when I first slid in my ZMP, I couldn't get it back out ... it was a very very tight, sticky fit (the metal of the ZMP kinda stuck to the clear plastic insert). I did finally get it out and put a touch of baby powder on the sides of the plastic insert and insertion and removal was easier after that.
The case lid is a bit tough to close right now as the leather needs to stretch but it does snap shut with a bit of tugging. But it is stretching already pretty good so it is not as tough anymore. The case is well built and I really like it (smells of napa leather).
The only thing, though, is when you order this case, it does not come with ANY clips ... you have to order that separately. I wanted this to clip to my pants but of course received no clip with my case. So I just had to place a second order for a $6.00 mini clip. It has a Multiadapt Clip System, so there are differnt types of clips and also a system to use in your car that affixes to your dash.
Nice quality. Case alone was $27.95 and FedEx ground was like $3.95 or pretty close to that. The Mini Clip I ordered was $5.95.

Yes, however it never asked me anything about the phone portion......I finally took out the sim card and used the one in Iphone 4 model, it worked.  The other sim card did not work in my 4iphone so maybe it is a bad sim card????

  • Will I damage my iPhone 4s if I use a flip case with magnetic fastening?

I want to buy a case that I can use to protect the whole of my iPhone and so I need to buy a flip case with a magnetic fastening. However, I have heard rumour that this will damage the compass and navigation on my phone and other various utilities and also ruin the actual touch screen. Is this true or am I safe to go ahead and buy a case?
    Thank you for reading :-)

No, It will not damage the compass but it might cause it to be inaccurate.

  • Can magnets in a iphone4 leather case damage the phone?

I bought a Capdase leather case for my iphone4, after i found out that it uses a magnetic flap closure, I kinda worry about that magnet will damange my shiny iphone for things like the speaker, the built-in compass, the Gyroscope and many other delicate IC components.
So my question is does magnet in a iphone case damage the phone or affect the use of the phone like phone signal and etc.?

Thanks alot Malcolm, and base on your information, can I infer that using a case with magnet will not do permanent damage to my iphone4? it will only cause some temporary interference at most?

  • Are there flip cases for iPod Touch?  If so, which would you recommend?

I'm in the market for an iPod Touch. I'd like to get a case/cover for it that would function the way the flip cover did on the SONY Clie SJ33 or the Palm T3 worked... much like the communicators on Star Trek!
Does anyone make such an accessory? Are there certain ones you would recommend?

Well, I've received my brand new IPT and still don't have a case!
I've researched the cases suggested here (thanks for the tips!) and scores more (far too many). I cannot seem to find a flip case WITHOUT a magnet! And given what I've read in threads here, I really don't want to risk a several hundred dollar device with a magnetic clasp case. I realize that lots of folks use them without problems, but I keep finding posts from people who have real issues!
And strangely, the Apple Store carries most of the Marware cases EXCEPT FOR THE FLIP CASE (the one I was leaning towards), which is their only case with magnets! Is Apple trying to tell us something?
(I wish I had just bought the Belkin Folio case when it was free after rebate on Black Friday from Amazon!)
As a temporary fix, I've put some thin clear vinyl wrap around the IPT (left over from trials years ago with my Palms) and will jerry rig something with my Palm T3 flip cover-- it's perfectly sized and right form factor! A Palm iPod Touch!
I'm now debating a combo of Power Support Air Jacket with the Marware Flip Vue. And simply gambling on the magnetic clasp problem!
Any thoughts? Reactions? Am I way off base for worrying about the magnets?

  • Iphone 6 case damaged

I recently purchased the leather iphone 6 case from the apple online store (the week the iphone 6 came out). The case cost me $60. However, the case is damaged. It has marks all over the case (maybe from rubbing against other items). I would have expected the expensive case to last longer. Can I get a refund for the case? I am not happy with this product.

This case is made from natural aniline leather. Its appearance will change as you use it.

  • Problems with Roxfit flip case.

I have had several occasions now where my phone is freezing. I think the problem is caused by the flip case. It seems that if you don't lock the phone before closing the flap that the phone thinks it's screen is being touched. When i open the flap the quick settIngs / notification bar has been opened and the phone seems to have frozen or like its trying to catch up with multiple presses.
Anyone else had anything like this?

Hi and sorry for my englisch...
My wife owns the Xperia Z1 Compact and this case (Roxfit):
    http://static.webshopapp.com/shops/000021/files/010545624/600x600x2/roxfit-flip-book-case-sony-xperi...
and she has the same problem. When you open the case and unlock the phone, sometimes the phone go crazzy and its like the upper task bar touches him self (like you said: trying to catch up with multiple presses)...
My friends wife has the same phone and the same case... and the same problem.
I serch the internet for people withe the same problem, but i found only this thread... My friends wife changed the case for another one and it solve the problem, so i dit the same for my wife...
Btw the Roxfit flip case have a strong magnet (i dont known what for) maybe thi is the problem...

  • Z10 flip case flaw draining battery

Picked up a BlackBerry branded flip case for my Z10 today, fitted it to the device, and after a few hours I noticed that that my battery had drained dramatically.
After a bit of investigation, I think it is down to a flaw in the case. The cover of the case has magnet which wakes/sleeps the device as you open and close it. Pretty neat in principle, but the edge of the cover overhangs the edge of the phone, and when it is pushed up against something in your pocket or bag, it raises the centre spine of the cover away from the screen, which immediately causes the device to wake up (see video illustrating this here).
This happens pretty continuously if your phone is loose in your pocket or bag, so battery is constantly being drained by the screen.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a way around it?

Your description makes sense. If the screen is being toggled on very often the battery will go down faster for sure.
I use a simple Gel Grip case. I set the phone to sleep or standby after 60 seconds. I have no battery issues with the phone. I found with the newest software update the battery management is improved.

  • The Case-Mate Signature Leather case dumped my iPhone

The Case-Mate Signature Leather case dumped my iPhone onto the pavement this morning while getting out of my car. The case has a system that clicks and holds the phone in several positions occupying 360 degrees of rotation. When I got out of my car I heard a thud, and looked down to see the iPhone face down in the street. The case was held upside down, and somehow allowed the phone to slide right out of the case. Needless to say, the phone suffered multiple scratches and indentations. I have tried half a dozen iPhone cases and have found them all subpar (one of which broke within days, and another that left my phone on the Disneyland ride – It’s a Small World!) in comparison with other equivalent cases for other manufacturers. I settled on the Case-Mate thinking it was the most secure. I was wrong. Beware the Case-Mate case and be sure to make sure your case cannot allow the same thing to happen to your phone. Guess I am going to have to lay down the big bucks for the Vaja case and see where that gets me. OR, perhaps someone out there with a phone can create a better case for this slippery fish of a phone…

I have the case mate also, and I don't use it. It worried me it would fall out.
I really liked the glove part of the case. I had a Treo belt case at home and found out the Case Mate would fit into the Treo case perfectly.
It has a cover and a snap and rides horizontal on my belt. Works great and the phone is protected very well
